“Online orders and shipments”

We ordered an Eskimo ice auger, the shipment arrived in 4 days, rivalling Amazon. We ordered 2 Striker Ice floatation suits, a fishing rod and a drill attachment, the order was 6 items shipped in parts, the last of the order was a jacket arriving in 12 days. We ordered a hard to find ice transducer and 2 pairs of fishing gloves, the shipment arrived in 5 days. Note that all these items were on sale. The shipments were boxed good and came with prepaid return labels. We have no problems with Cabela's and will continue to order from them.

Tried to order 2 items on line. They will not accept Visa debit card. As if using Visa is new on the block. Called customer service. The nice man confirmed the handicap. Go shop somewhere else.

I just recently bought an ice fishing rod for 31.99, the payment went through and is paid for from credit card. They went ahead and made a second pending payment for 35.51. I called them and they told me that they will refund my 31.99 to my card and keep they will keep the second transaction of (35.51)pending...

As for the store, great. As for in store pick up orders- be careful, make sure you look at how much you were charged. My order and confirmation email was on sale for 750. The total when I picked my order up was regular price 900. Since it was a rifle it is a final sale. They screwed me!

First orderd a smoker, One week later called to inquire about delivery. Was told at that point that the item was no longer being shipped. Pick up in store only. No call or Email from Cabelas notifying me?
Then orderd a $99 free shipping item. Bill came to $140? Free shipping but $27 overweight charge.
I wondered what would be the regular shipping charge for that item?.

Word to the wise, do not shop from cabelas online..

Cabelas Canada's sevice sucks! I used to order from there years ago but found their service was bad, usually out of stock or on back order or the shipping was always late by at least a week. I stopped buying from them for years and the a month ago I thought I'd try again. Well sure enough once again, its been 3 weeks and I still haven't received my order. I use their tracking number and the package is still at their store. I have called twice and only ever get excuses on why it's not their fault and I've been told " if week can find you package we will try and get it to you faster" seriously? What the heck is that? I told them to keep my order and reimburse me my money, I was told we cant do that, you must wait till it shows up then you can send it back at my charge and then they can give me my money back. Not cool save yourself a lot of bs and shop somewhere else.

When you call a company and the answer is: "we've sent a e-mail to shipping and there is so much we can do... Now you have to wait. We are very busy sir so thats all I can Do."

Somebody is not doing his job!
Unfortunatly, this company just lost a other client!

Sad! Very sad!

I made a purchase of a fish finder and a bunch of fishing lures, but the fish finder was back ordered so I got an e-mail saying my order will ship once the fish finder arrives at the warehouse so that everything will ship together. A couple days go by and I hear nothing about my order so I decided to just cancel the order and get everything elsewhere, but the only way to cancel an order is through calling customer service so I called and asked if I could cancel my order and they said that they have already shipped everything except the fish finder because they had already cancelled the order of the fish finder without any email or a email letting me know my package had already shipped. Terrible!

I drove from Surrey to Abbotsford round trip 110km just to find out they advertised falsely with an attractive pricing for a jacket that they don't even carry anymore but the online claiming they have in stock in the store only so people would come and visit, they said they have similar product with more than 3 times the price, before I come I called the store several times and no one answer the phone. Wish Cabelas does not trick consumers to visit the store

I bought a Savage 212 shotgun and a scope, mounts, sling, flip up sight covers and case from Cabela's in Barrie, for around $1,600.00.(CDN) The firing pin failed on the shotgun after putting 7 shells through it. I returned the shotgun within 30 days and it was replaced with a new gun out of the box, and the firing pin also failed on the second gun. Cabela's refused to refund my money because It was just outside the 30 day warranty period. They just referred me to Savage Canada who only agreed to repair it, not refund my money. I will never buy anything from Cabela's again. Customer service said: "I am 100% right but store policy dictated that they couldn't do anything for me other than to refer me to Savage. I will never buy anything from Cabela's again.

I recently purchase a hunting rifle (Ottawa Cabela's) I provided the firearms acquisition card as requested, the sales clerk left with it to a back room for some time. When I questioned him what he was doing, he indicated that he had to call the RCMP to verify and register it. Why would Cabela's do that since the previous government cancelled the rifle/shotgun registry and ordered all records erased, is this something new?

Terrible customer service! Ordered online, waiting for order 2 weeks! Emailed Cabelas twice, two days ago.still no reply! Called Cabelas on hold for an hour! Only to be told they are behind in orders, over whelmed.really,? Geee what does Amazon do? They seem to handle shipments as does Old Navy! I've never run into such poor delivery commitment or customer service as with Cabelas!

I have been dealing with cabelas for over 15 years in the USA. I am a Canadian and decided to utilize cabelas Canada. Their customer service support is very impolite considering I just purchased a 3600$ trolling motor. They said it could take up to 2 weeks for shipping. At Amazon I get orders withing a week. I wouldn't have issues paying for extra shipping to get things sooner. I get stuff from China sooner. This will be my last order at Cabelas. Its too bad cause this has always been my favorite place to shop. Extremely errogant on the phone unlike their USA counterparts. The USA customer service and service overall is 1000% better.

Tip for consumers:
Purchase from Cabelas USA site. Its worth paying the duty and you will get items faster than Canada Cabelas site.

They need to separate the Cabela's and Bass pro websites. I live in Toronto and can't check to see if an item is available at the Vaughn store. I'm getting tired of waisting my time driving to the store to find out they don't have what I want. If I don't want to wait for something to be shipped I have to drive 2 hrs to Barrie to get disappointed. I'm an old school guy who likes to have something in my hand and check out before I buy. I've started using Sail in Oshawa at least they keep their site up to date.

Terrible customer service. Cabelas does not stand behind the products they sale. Once the sale is cmetw you are on your own. A fishing rod I recently purchased, snappped while retrieving a large fish. Cabelas staff in Saskatoon accused me of misuse and refused any support. As a fisherman of 50 years experience, having never had a rod break, and being accused of doing so, I felt I should respond.

Ordered a firearm from them and came damaged.
From the get go they started with: well look at the damages but all firearms are final sale. As if they were preparing me for dissatisfaction. They are rude, not accommodating and made me a ridiculous discount offer in order to NOT exchange my product. Absolute nonsense. How does a company not exchange a product that came shipped to the client damaged. A real joke! DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM!
Truly disappointed to see a Canadian company function like this!

Bought a savage 10t sr they shipped out a defective gun when I called them they said go through warranty. The place for warranty is 2 hours away. I wouldn't buy anything online from them go in the store and check it before you buy it. All the stuff that is defective ship it to customers and then its their headache

Ordered a pellet gun after long wait and phone calls and emails I get a delivery notice from the post office that I have to drive 20 miles one way to sign for it, no big deal if their was no Covid19 and your not 70 with one lung.
This after paying extra for delivery,(300+ I wish now was waisted elsewhere)
Never again long wait and poor delivery service

Even before covid was around, their warehouse was completely incompetent. Took weeks to get the product. Had to do a return, and it took over 2 months and numerous escalations to get the credit. I was told their warehouse was behind! Now with covid, seems they can't even process online orders. Been waiting 2 weeks since placing an online order (no other option since nobody else had the product) and they haven't even processed the order yet, let alone arranged for a courier to pick it up. Their customer services doesn't respond to emails. Most times, their phones are busy and you can't get through. I was finally able to get hold of a rep, and they said they had absolutely zero clue how far backlogged the warehouse was, and if/when they would ever process my order. If you are hoping to get something before Christmas, don't even waste your time. Its not going to happen.

Don"t order online placed a order on Aug 25 said in stock online. Did a follow up yesterday Sept 9 to find out that it was back ordered. Call customer service lady said she would try and find one at another store and email me to let me know guess what no email. Called again today after I located one in a store. Told another service rep the story she said she would check and call me guees what no call. I have purchased a few thousand worth of stuff from Cabelas and not the first time I have had problems. I will not be buying from the again it is not worth the headache

If you order online in Canada you should get an online tracking number for UPS, it is useless unless you set up an account with UPS and give them your personal info. Try and phone Cabelos about tracking and the computer says call Ups or wait forever to get a human. Never again.

We tried to purchase a camo couch from the webpage and had to phone customer service to complete order. The couch was on sale for $1039. 99 which was awesome and they were going to get back to us on shipping. We got an email today quoting a cost to ship this $1039. 99 couch of $2276. 74. That's not a misprint $2300 to ship a couch. Before taxes this couch with shipping would be $3300. Cabela's has lost another sale. We found another couch with free shipping and great customer service. Wake up Cabelas your online services are archaic and stop screwing consumers

I had a horrible experience ordering online from Cabela's as I thought I was getting a good deal on some ammunition when in fact I was getting ripped off. When I checked my credit card transactions I saw two seperate charges from Cabella's and when I called to inquire about the second charge they lied and said I would only be charged for the first amount. It seems that there was a hidden fee to ship ammo that was not mentioned at all by customer service and I kept being redirected by online support and finally when I was told they could not help and had to call customer service I was told I could not cancel the order at this point even though I was told my credit card was only pre authorized and my order was not fully processed yet. After all I had been through I did not want to give any business to Cabella's. The bottom line is don't purchase anything from this horrible company when there are so many more options found online and even other outdoor supply retailers to choose from.

I have just spent over an hour trying to purchase a gift card to no avail. First I attempted to purchase a gift card online but was unable to as Cabelas only accepts credit cards from Canada or the United States - Why? Then I called the Cabelas store that I visit with my Canadian son-in-law to attempt to purchase a gift card from the store. The young lady was very helpful but couldn't assist, so she very kindly put me through on the 1-800 number (we can't use 1-800 from the UK) where another young lady tried to help until it came to the payment - those blessed Canadian or American credit cards again! All I could got out of her was the company blurb - she was polite but of no assistance whatsoever. I couldn't even send Cabelas an email as I don't have a Canadian phone number nor a Cabelas order number. Why is Cabelas so insular? Very disappointed!

Tip for consumers:
If you live in another country, don’t even try to use Cabelas - very sad

Clearly their error. Description is "towels". Picture is 2 towels. Ordered them and got one towel. Customer service reply is just return the goods. Yes I have a return lable. I am 6.5 hours and 4 hours from a store, so due to their erro I get to make a trip to the post office after prepping a package. The goods came in a bag not suitable for reshipping/returning, so up to me.

Ordered Two bedding sets - from the Nanaimo store - never arrived - called them and they told me the last 2 bedding sets - were now on hold for someone else. I explained I already bought those sets a week ago. How could they be on hold for someone else. They agreed that was odd and unethical and would try to fix the issue. I then called back a few days later and they said the last of the bedding sets have move to the bargin cave and they would not be able to fill my order. Super PISSED off! Cabelas SUXS!
