Bought a deer feed on sale on Nov. 1,2017, chose and paid the 3 day shipping to arrive at destination Nov. 3,2017. Called Nov 2 fo get pro bill number to trace. Not shipped yet. Called everyday. Not shipped yet. Requested supervisor to call me. No calls. Called Nov 6 and was advised it was being shipped and to our gift destination for Nov 8. I had stated that I had asked numerous times for a supervisor to call. No calls. They told me they as emailed me. Bull. Called Nov 7 - and guess what, still not shipped. This was to be a birthday gift that we travelled quite a distance to be able to see their expression. A most unpleasant experience and will never darken their doors again. To the next person. I tried to make a first time online purchase from Cabela's using my Visa debit. It did not work and said to call the 1-800 number and see what other ways I could pay. When SHONA Answer the phone I explained to her what the problem was. She basically dissed me because I don't have an actual credit card and then when I was about to say that I would have to cancel my order she cut me off said OK thanks and hung up on me. Wow. As an attempted first time customer there will never be an attempted second time. Unbelievable.
I ordered a fish finder through there online store, it said it was in stock so I purchased it with express shipping, couple days go by which is also supposed to be how long the shipping was lol, still pending in my account. I phone an woman says oh ya it's out of stock in our warehouse that it would have to be sent from a store. (What a joke) I went with another store from states instead got the 9" mega di for less $200 less then Cabela's changes for 8" mega di lol what a JOKE!
Terrible company to order from. Charged my credit card (pending) and held me ransom. Delayed shipping. I tried calling. Gave up on that. Emailed to cancel my order and they responded they cannot. The order is still pending. It hasn't shipped. This is the last order I will place with Cabelas.
Shipping is incredibly slow. Placed an order 8 days ago still hasn't shipped. During this time I placed orders from Walmart, Amazon and Pyramyd Air in the US and received all of those items while Cabelas Canada has yet to even ship mine. Will never use this retailer again. Much better options for exact same items available elsewhere.
Nov 15 I ordered an, electric ice auger and a month later item not yet shipped out. Front desk stated they had lots in inventory but were never able to ship one out even after many calls and with half hour wait times. I gave up, ordered the Strikemaster from an Ontario sports dealer and it was shipped out same day with tracking, paid 30$ less than Cabelas even though I paid for shipping 50$. Note I live in Quebec. Note: I emailed several times and asked that someone (responsible) email me or call me to explain why the delay to no avail. Never again.
Every time I've ordered from Cabelas they have come through for me. I recently ordered a few things before the Xmas rush - terrible timing, I know. When UPS (the un-contested worst carrier ever) completely screwed the pooch in a few almost comical ways - Cabelas totally helped me out, and reshipped at their own expense. They were extremely helpful, and kept a good sense of humour in so doing. Impressive enough that I'm taking the time to write about it!
Bought 2 scopes being sold together on website it says both are the same model got package and ones the model below and they wont pay for return shipping wont buy anything from them again dont believe anything on there webpage
I saw an add announcing that Cabela's was searching for some Call Center Customer Representatives. I was all excited to apply because I was a good customer of them 20 years ago. Only to find out that the postition was part-time (not indicated in the job posting). The proposed pay was awful (12$/hour). They were searching for legendary customer service experience. The Human Resources Specialist was taking a 2 seconds gap before answering questions. What type of people do that? After a Criminal BackCheck and thinking about it, they didn't hire me. Good for me finally. Be careful about Cabela's because they don't really know what they are searching for and their Business approach is deficient.
Do not ever buy anything online from this poor excuse of a company. I purchased a meat slicer that did not. Work out of the box. Trying to connect with the company's customer service by phone and email proved futile. Again, I repeat, never, ever buy anything from this joke of a company.
Ordered a dehydrator nov 27 online, for a Xmas gift. Never received it, first call to customer service they told me it was on back order. Second call, they tell me it's not available online anymore. So they will refund me which will take 3-5 weeks. Then they want me to go buy it at the store. I don't think so. Never again will I buy from cabelas. Wait time for customer service is about 40 mins
Went into Cabela's Abbotsford to pick up some hunting items. When I was heading to the hunting section I noticed several racks with clearance signs. I found a jacket I liked looked at the price and it was $119.99 then noticed a sticker on the tag that said "was $158.98 Now $49.99. I questioned service staff to the discrepancy and they said the $119.99 was the US price. Nowhere on the tag did it say US. I informed the staff that this is false advertising as you can't raise the price and then put it on sale to look like a better deal. They admitted that they "forgot to take the $119.99 tag off. I asked to have the item for the $110.00 dollars off the $119.99 but was refused by the service department and by the manager that attended. 1-800 # also refused to honor my request. This is a blatant misleading advertising.
From start to finish this company has had bull$#*! service! I made an order in June which was backordered, however nothing was communicated. They have promised to have a product specialist get in touch with me 3 times and I have yet to receive a call. I could go on for hours about the bull$#*! I have experienced with thos order however I will not. All I will say is buyer beware! I will never purchase something from cabelas again and will also advise you to do the same! Support your local guns shops at least they care about your business. Also since I'm in a negative mood and ranting my brother purchased a collar for his dog which cost $800. Within the first week the gps locator stopped working and they were unwilling to help him also. Seems like they just want your money and dont care about your return business. Please stop supporting cabelas I know I am not the only person frustrated and fed up with this company.
I just recently bought an ice fishing rod for 31.99, the payment went through and is paid for from credit card. They went ahead and made a second pending payment for 35.51. I called them and they told me that they will refund my 31.99 to my card and keep they will keep the second transaction of (35.51)pending...
As for the store, great. As for in store pick up orders- be careful, make sure you look at how much you were charged. My order and confirmation email was on sale for 750. The total when I picked my order up was regular price 900. Since it was a rifle it is a final sale. They screwed me!
First orderd a smoker, One week later called to inquire about delivery. Was told at that point that the item was no longer being shipped. Pick up in store only. No call or Email from Cabelas notifying me?
Then orderd a $99 free shipping item. Bill came to $140? Free shipping but $27 overweight charge.
I wondered what would be the regular shipping charge for that item?.
Word to the wise, do not shop from cabelas online..
Cabelas Canada's sevice sucks! I used to order from there years ago but found their service was bad, usually out of stock or on back order or the shipping was always late by at least a week. I stopped buying from them for years and the a month ago I thought I'd try again. Well sure enough once again, its been 3 weeks and I still haven't received my order. I use their tracking number and the package is still at their store. I have called twice and only ever get excuses on why it's not their fault and I've been told " if week can find you package we will try and get it to you faster" seriously? What the heck is that? I told them to keep my order and reimburse me my money, I was told we cant do that, you must wait till it shows up then you can send it back at my charge and then they can give me my money back. Not cool save yourself a lot of bs and shop somewhere else.
When you call a company and the answer is: "we've sent a e-mail to shipping and there is so much we can do... Now you have to wait. We are very busy sir so thats all I can Do."

I made a purchase of a fish finder and a bunch of fishing lures, but the fish finder was back ordered so I got an e-mail saying my order will ship once the fish finder arrives at the warehouse so that everything will ship together. A couple days go by and I hear nothing about my order so I decided to just cancel the order and get everything elsewhere, but the only way to cancel an order is through calling customer service so I called and asked if I could cancel my order and they said that they have already shipped everything except the fish finder because they had already cancelled the order of the fish finder without any email or a email letting me know my package had already shipped. Terrible!
I drove from Surrey to Abbotsford round trip 110km just to find out they advertised falsely with an attractive pricing for a jacket that they don't even carry anymore but the online claiming they have in stock in the store only so people would come and visit, they said they have similar product with more than 3 times the price, before I come I called the store several times and no one answer the phone. Wish Cabelas does not trick consumers to visit the store
