We ordered an Eskimo ice auger, the shipment arrived in 4 days, rivalling Amazon. We ordered 2 Striker Ice floatation suits, a fishing rod and a drill attachment, the order was 6 items shipped in parts, the last of the order was a jacket arriving in 12 days. We ordered a hard to find ice transducer and 2 pairs of fishing gloves, the shipment arrived in 5 days. Note that all these items were on sale. The shipments were boxed good and came with prepaid return labels. We have no problems with Cabela's and will continue to order from them.
Tried to order 2 items on line. They will not accept Visa debit card. As if using Visa is new on the block. Called customer service. The nice man confirmed the handicap. Go shop somewhere else.

Ok i purchased a Garmin fish finder online on sale I was at the lake. All was fine till it got into the hands of UPS. Was to be delivered monday morning. So waited at home for it. At about 11 i received an update say now delivered in afternoon so went out. About 3/4 of an hour later ups shows up and i talk to him on my ring and sez cannot leave there need your photo id and cannot leave or have neighbours sign for it. So go home and call ups and they say sorry driver must have been speedy will send out a request and will have delivered later in the day. So i stay home. By 4:30 no ups so i call back again and they say sorry on truck for delivery tommorow but if i want can go pick up but wait an hour before going. So now i'm getting smart i call first and they say sorry it's on the truck and they can't get it
Next morning receive an email or for delivery before 11:15. So i wait. No delivery them get a notice will be delivered before 4:30. So I wait. And o receive an email just after 12 saying it's delivered? I call back and they say sorry it's still on the truck. But I should get it by 8 pm. wow. Yes he came in the afternoon and i si receive it but whaste two days of my life waiting for it. I dod call Cabela's to complain and a fellow i spoke to apologized and said would get back to me. No such luck. Called back to speak to the manager but he was not in that day and the lady i spoke to said he would call me in the morning. No such luck. I finally have called head office but the person I spoke to said there was no one there who looked after online service?!?Said someone would look into it and get back to me. Not holding my breath. Avoid online purchases. They are a pin in the you know what and not worth the hassle

I regret to say that my experience with Cabela's has been nothing short of a nightmare. The level of service I received was far from satisfactory, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment.
The overall service can only be described as horrible, and it's disheartening to feel like my concerns were not taken seriously. The prolonged wait of three months to receive a refund is simply unacceptable and has added significant frustration to an already disappointing situation.
I hope that this feedback prompts a reassessment of your service procedures and that steps are taken to rectify these issues. As a customer, I expected a smoother process, and unfortunately, my experience has left me with a strong inclination never to purchase anything from you again!

10 days expected delivery from shipping partner UPS!. I have never experienced this slow shipping even from Canada Post. Seems like no one in the upper ranks really cares about this issue with customer service since it has been going on for quite a while. I am not an isolated incident. I give it less than a year before Cabela's in Canada is gone at this rate. I should of read all the reviews before I ordered online from them. Industry standard is 2 - 3 days to most metro areas in Canada.
Customer service rep, after waiting for 10 minutes on hold, tells me it is not their problem. But who decided to use UPS as their main courier service?
I realize that these are difficult times but a month ago I placed an order for curb-side pick up at our local store. Half of the order arrived a week later, as expected. Haven't seen the rest of the order and it has now been a month. Efforts to reach anyone either by phone or email have been impossible. The longest I sat on hold on the phone was 20 minutes and I finally had to hang up due to the crap music I was forced to listen to. I emailed and was told that these are unprecedented times and everything is delayed. I get that, but for the love of god, you need a better system in place to at least let people know what is going on with their order. Won't be shopping here any time soon.

There has been numerous times when the local store (Regina) was out of stock of a product, will not or cannot get any from warehouse or other stores. My only option is to drive to Calgary seven hours away. Cabela take a close look at Wholesale sports and Target. Ignoring customers inevitably leads to Bankruptcy.
Ordered a few items online. All the items were in stock in the province of Ontario where I'm located. Order takes 10 days to arrive from Calgary instead of shipping from Ontario. Order comes missing most expensive item. 47 min hold time for customer service agent to tell me the warehouse short ordered you. Asks if I still want the item I obviously wanted If I ordered it in the first place or a refund. Credit card was already charged for item not even shipped even though policy is to charge after item is shipped. Was my first time ordering from Cabela's and it will undoubtedly be my last. I should of listened to all the other horrible reviews scattered all over the web.

Great big company and operates like a scam. Did not believe my experience till I saw all the other reviews with similar experience. Took my order. Charged my credit card. Never shipped it. Won't answer email. Impossible to reach by phone. I guess my only recourse is to go through credit card company. A whole lot of bother for a few shirts.

I called the Edmonton south store at 8pm phone range for half hour the. Call was dropped so I drove over to see what is going on only to see front desk standing there doing nothing very disappointing.
I placed an order 22 days ago and haven't heard a peep from Cabela's. These items were in-stock online. I called customer service and was on hold for 58 minutes and 27 seconds and was then on the line with a completely incompetent customer service rep, not her fault apparent lack of training. She was unable to inform me of anything, why even have a customer service department if you are not able to help, I may as well have called McDonald's customer service at least I might have gotten a free cheeseburger out of it! Cabela's is going downhill at a very rapid pace. I have already paid shipping costs and was informed not only is this going to be practically a month before I receive it I get the privilege of waiting a month and then paying even more to ship it... wow... this retailer is completely out of touch with what would be considered acceptable business practice!

I have been attempting to get a refund for an online purchase that was not picked up at the store in Oct 2017. Several phone calls, conflicting processes and frustration it is now January 2018 and I still do not have a refund. So frustrated.
I ordered some amo and Mag for my pistol. They first came back stating they can't send me the mags, which is fine. Than, then came again stating there is no more.22 LR. Knowing it was kinda cheap price, I requested for a rain check so next time I go in store, I can purchase it my self. APPARENTLY they don't do any rain check. ANY STORE would do that kind of rain check.

If you must buy something always best going into store. Front line staff are normally great. Online orders take 7+ days to get out on average. Normally split up from different stores, even if the one closest to you has everything.
Good luck getting ahold of customer service if needed. Huge hold times...
Every time I've ordered from Cabelas they have come through for me. I recently ordered a few things before the Xmas rush - terrible timing, I know. When UPS (the un-contested worst carrier ever) completely screwed the pooch in a few almost comical ways - Cabelas totally helped me out, and reshipped at their own expense. They were extremely helpful, and kept a good sense of humour in so doing. Impressive enough that I'm taking the time to write about it!
Have you considered Balderson ONt. The huge cheese factory is for sale. Between Ottawa and kingston and hunters and game and fisheries and campers and outdoor clientele all around. There are two major conservation sites and ski resorts and only Canadian tire for outdoor equipment. Gail Fraser My sons great outdoor guys and gals need help. Too.
From my experience it doesn't get any slower then this. Its pretty bad when you can get items shipped out of south east US by USPS to western Canada arrive at your residence before Cabelas can even get your items pulled and sent. I guess I should have expected as it was a FREE shipping promotion. If you want to prevent a 2 week wait pony up for the expedited shipping or pick up in store.
Usually I am very happy with my visits to Cabelas... and was excited when the flyer showed up yesterday with some great deals and new click bait rifles. I figured since I needed a draw tag picked up, I would drive the hour to go grab a rifle /bipod/scope as an early Xmas present to my self... I've been a good boy. I called ahead and was told if it was in the flyer they should have them in stock, but that the computer was busy and he couldn't confirm... my bad... Drove the hour to be told that they have some on order but that they haven't shipped, and that they not even available to order online yet... but featured in the catalogue... went down south to a local shop and spent 2600. 00 there instead.
I placed a $400 order for the Black Friday / Cyber Monday sale. My order was confirmed the same day. A week later and still no further updates to my order. As per the instructions on my order confirmation, I called to get a status update a week later. It took 20 minutes to get through to a customer service representative. They were polite and seemingly accommodating to my queries and requests. I was told I would see an email the same day that would outline the status of my order. I did not get an email so I followed up the next day. Again, it took about 20 minutes to get through to a service rep. I won't really fault them on the wait times as it seems common with corporate operations of all kinds these days. This service rep. Was also polite and accommodating and the issues were resolved right away.
For whatever reason(s), the delivery times for Cabela's online ordering are very slow when compared to many other online retailers, corporate or otherwise.
Unless you are willing to wait 3 weeks or more for your order to be delivered, I suggest that you go to the nearest outlet.
