One must wonder why a great company like Capital One has screwed it's customers with a fifth rate customer service department? Their customer service agents are extremely poorly trained and are
100% ESL. They talk too fast, have very heavy accents and are impossible to understand. Be careful because they will transfer you and that person will put you on hold and never come back on the line.
Here is my solution. I am going to pay off my balance and put my CC in my safety deposit box and NEVER use it again. I am done with overseas call centers for good.

I have two credit cards with capital one, their platinum card and the venture one card. The original percentage rate on purchases for the platinum card was 23% which is outrageous. Most companies start with between 14 and 15% interest accordingly. I had made several request for them to lower that interest-rate and was refused repeatedly. So I cancel the card. I made a small charge the other day on the venture one card and went to check on the card balance because I had also requested an increase to the $7500 balance that was given to me. I received an email stating that my request been denied because my credit usage on the venture one card was 'too low'. 'Too low'? Then I went to check the current interest rate of purchases and it have been increased to 23% as well. So apparently this company is a bit vindictive when you cancel one of their flagship cards and because you don't use the other card enough then you end up getting the maximum rate. I've had these cards for five years and have never been satisfied with the customer service. Once the charge has been paid for on the venture one card I will be canceling that account as well. Everything was fine with his company until I requested a decrease in the 23% on the platinum card and things went downhill from there. I'm sure there are people out there that have good relations with Capital one but mine has been quite sour.
