Credit One is the worst credit card I have ever had. They do not have automatic monthly payment, the only card I own that does not have this feature. Despite have a zero balance for over a year, I just got charged a yearly fee. Again, the only card I own that charges a fee. When I spoke to customer service, explaining that I have a very high credit score and have been a great customer, paying off balances faithfully, I was told that under no circumstances will they waive the fee. Despite the fact that it is not good to cancel a credit card, I am doing that today. I never want to hear from Credit One again. After paying the annual fee, of course, so they don't ding my great credit. What a ripoff! Stay away from this card!
Husband bought something on eBay wrong fit, immediately cancelled order, only to have seller refuse cancellation and send anyways, We refuse package, and gets sent back to seller and tracking proves seller kept it. After 2 months reviewing this charge with 14 pages of proof, we don't have product and seller signed and kept it, Capitol One has the odasity of putting the bill back on us, to pay for a product, they know we never had, and know seller kept. In, and with case manager laughing at me on the phone, saying, sorry you have to pay for this, while snickering, I told him to cancel cards and they can keep the bill. Now I'm finding out they are tied to Comenity bank, somehow. That is another screwed up story. Stay Away if you value your credit history.
My minimum payment due is $66. I Usually get paid on the 1st and 15th (I'm in the Army) however my check didn't deposit until the 3rd. My payments are due on the 2nd of each month. I called in to try to get my late fee waved due to it being no fault of my own on the 3rd. In addition I made a $215 payment rather than the $65 to make up for it being ONE DAY late. I was told there is nothing they can do. Later on that day an additional $46 was deducted to pay interest charges. I will be fully paying off this card and switching to a more Military friendly credit card company. I'm done giving civilians a chance to do the right thing. It's ridiculous the amount of interest they charge and no negotiation for a day tardiness. If there are any other Military Personnel that see this review, USAA and Navy Federal offer 6%-18% APR with $0 Annual fee for Active Duty, Reservist, Coast Guard and their families.
I had problems signing in online because I forgot my log in, I informed them the number I put on file has been disconnected and needed to log on to change the number. They wouldn't help me reset my online login password. When online says to call and they would help with the situation. The lady said she was going to send a message to the number on file, after I told her my cell has been disconnected. I have a card and haven't used it, probably never will. They are no help. I am going a different direction.
CapitalOne never helped me resolve my issues. Their customer service is also terrible. They never pick up and if they do they'll never help their customers. CapitalOne also never contacts their customers back, keep them on hold for a very long time, and if they do pick it up, they'll hang up afterwards. I have wasted many days trying to contact CapitalOne and at the end of every day, I never received any help. I'll be sure to tell my friends and family to NEVER use or create an account with CapitalOne EVER.
Was sent email saying my next payment was $62. Somewhere along the line they changed that payment to $63, charged me a $29 late fee, even though I paid it on the 27th, they credited it on the 27th, then accused me of not making a payment, because it was $1 short
Paid off amount due of 6000.+ before due date to CAPITAL ONE. Folliwing month received bill for interest accrued from prior billing month, there was no charges Interst was on amount I paid in full. Apparently need 2 billing cycles until acct actually paid in full. So if I did not pay the second bill with the interest in full or did not see it, thinking my account was paid off,I would continue to accumulate interest on top of that interest. I have not had that issue with my other credit cards. How can I get ahead with company policies like this? I did speak with a supervisor who just kept repeating the policy to me and would not do a one time waive fee as apparently, that is not in their policies.
I will close this card, so read the back page,small print, there are better companies to deal with. I am very disappointed with Capital One!
I have had a Capital One card for around 9 years. I have was never late and never missed a payment. This past year my father passed and then my son and I both had covid which lead to missed work for both cases.( I am a single mom) I tried asking Capital One for some help with my card and they gave me some type of plan where I could make lower payments, but then still reported it to the credit bureau as missed payments because it was lower than the regular payment amount. They have not worked with me at all and my score has tanked because of it. I also have a Chase card and have only had them for about a year. They let me completely skip 2 or 3 payments with absolutely no penalties or charges and no negative reports to my credit. I am very disappointed in Capital One and do not recommend them at all.
I answered an ad from Facebook about an ice maker that I thought was from Walmart. Filled out a survey and was supposed to pay $2 for ice maker. Came out to be $39.93. I immediately complained to company and they offered me half my money back. When I refused I called the bank and they gave me back my money. Now a month later the bank takes back my money even though they admit it was a scam. Called customer service and was told I was scammed but it was my mistake not theirs. Going to look for a better bank. You should too.

I told Cap one I had covid after a late payment & they turned off my card permanently. This company will never get any of my business in the future for any reason. I verified my earnings of 96k per yr & they still put marks on my credit.
In May, 2022 I recwived a text from the Capital One Fraud Dept that the two associate members had violated the Patriot Act and required immediate verification of identification by submission of sensitive personal informartion. I declined and closed the account. Capital One owes me a $206.52 credit balance and refuses to issue the refund until the fraud investigation is resolved. There's nothing left to resolve: the account's closed and so is the fraud investigation.My account remains "closed but resteicted." Go figure! Any lawyers out there?
My credit card was restricted and I tried to reach customer service to get help. I talked Jesy who helped me out. She has an exceptional customer service skills. She was very kind, polite, attentive, patient and jovial. I was fully satisfied with the help I got!
I had scheduled a trip through EF Tours, another scam company who kept my voluntarily paid large deposit
I had to cancel the trip, within a week of booking it for health and other problems. And the trip was 18 months in the future. Capitol One refuses to remove this bogus charge, requesting proof of cancelation. I canceled by phone. EFTours is so corrupt they are being sued by numerous people. Yet Capitol One refuses to remove this large charge because I can't provide proof of cancelation and EF Tours certainly won't admit that they received a cancelation. It was canceled by phone. I can't snatch words out of the air.
I have been a loyal customer of Capitol One for nearly 12 years, in good standing. They are losing me this week. I have fought this all summer and provided everything they requested. All for nothing.

I have had savings accounts with capital one for years. After the sale of a house I deposited $75,000 into one of my savings accounts. After I did that they have frozen my account (since March 28th) and I have not had access to $110,000 of my money for almost a month now. No one at the bank will speak to me because my account is "under investigation" and I have not had anyone contact me to let me know where they are with my account and when I will have access to my money again. Beyond frustrating and bordering on what feels illegal. Once I get my money back I will not be banking with them again.
The worse customer service ever received and still never fixed problem nothing but excuses pass the blame game I don't recommend this credit to anyone it's the worse I will be leaving capital one for any other credit card company never choice capital one I will be posting this on instant gram, facebook, etc
Horrible service, make you jump through hoops, powerless to make any changes to your account over the phone. The bank has massive fees including "maitenence fees" and overdraft fees, complete waste of you and your business's time.
They are NOT your advocate. I spent HOURS on the phone. I returned item with Amazon. I had screenshots, emails and tracking number proving that Amazon received the return. Amazon website tracks return. Amazon was HORRIBLE and claims they didn't receive although their own website, customer service emails and tracking PROVES they did. Capital One charged me back although I can SHOW screen shots of returned item where Amazon SAYS I am due the refund. Crazy! Not done after a month and a half! I sent in 12 screenshots to Capital One and then Nick, Morgan and Alvin tell me that I have to submit new case number. The old case number for which I sent paperwork-that THEY sent me- isn't the right case number! I have to submit all over again! Use another company! I still don't have credit!
I had to file a dispute with a minor account that I had as a minor. A company had stated they issued a refund for a return that I had did but never received the refund and I later found out the refund was issued to someone who was not me(A different bank account I had not owned). The rep then advised me to dispute the transaction since the business refused to settle the issue. So I did as instructed. The dispute was then never handled because the business had provided receipts showing proof of refund but Capital One did not investigate the difference in account numbers that the business had provided and Capital One sided with the business. Capital had also allowed the business to charge my account multiple times without my permission even when I had asked for new cards so the company was allowed to charge the new cards without ever being provided the new cards and I had instructed Capital One that they did not have permission to charge the cards again.
Answer: No really I can't I mean from the very beginning they said they mailed it and then a week later when I called and they had not mailed it yet when I checked my bank they take the money out of my bank and then tell me they're going to hold the money for 7 days to make sure the money is there I think they take the customers for granted in a big bad way
