CareCredit has a rating of 1.2 stars from 845 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about CareCredit most frequently mention customer service, synchrony bank, and interest rate problems. CareCredit ranks 167th among Credit Cards sites.
I am appalled at the rudeness of the customer service agents. Two of the people I spoke with yesterday, asking for help regarding my account, were not only less than helpful but were actually very mean. This is not the first time the customer service reps have been rude. After being kept on hold for 32 minutes, one of them--a manager, no less--told me she could not wait longer than two minutes for me to get my husband on the phone to confirm that I was allowed to access our account. When I refuted this, she said, "Actually, I am under no obligation to wait at all for you" and then hung up on me! WHAATT? This same person also argued for a good 5 minutes that the customer service phone line is available 24/7 but on the Synchrony site it says M-F 9-5. More than just the way they treat their customers on the phone, the company is sneaky in their practices. Some providers will offer promotional purchases--like 6 months no interest. However, some don't or will only offer it for purchases over a certain amount. If you have both promos and regular charges on your account, Care Credit will apply your payment to the promo (no interest) first unless you call and tell them to apply it to the high interest (23.9%) purchases first. So it is VERY easy to get huge interest charges building up very quickly, without being aware. It is a deceptive, awful company. I do not recommend them at all.

I have a 700 credit score that I have worked very hard for, for years. This company was awful to work with. I have never written such an awful review but this has been absolutely ridiculous. I have all my bills set to auto pay. I tried to set this up half a dozen times. It would take a payment, then reject not notify me. I have used these same account numbers for years with other companies without issue. Then all of the sudden there is a problem with this one company. They would take my payment when they did call me, it would process fine, same problem next month. No matter how much I updated, no matter how many times I called it would not go through consistently. So they close my account! This has NEVER happened to me! I'm 28. In 5 years of building my credit, this has NEVER happened. So I call, speak to a different individual every time. They tell me make a payment and another in a week, it'll put my account in "good standing" and they will reinstate it... nope. Next person tells me they can't even do that. Ask for a manager, nope, can't talk to them. This has been the worst experience I have ever had and I plan to share with everyone. I already informed the dentist office who recommended it and they have now heard this a lot! I would never recommend this card. It's not worth the "perks" when their poor customer service and system damages your credit!

This company is absolutely horrible, they don't care about your welfare. 0000 stars so sad they are not working with people due to COVID, this explains why they gave a 1 out of 5 review.

Put your trust in these leeches at your own peril. I got a CareCredit credit card for emergency dental surgery and haven't used it since my operation. I always paid on time, but Synchrony - for know discernible reason - reduced my limit to below my balance and immediately reported the overage. They then charged me hundreds of dollars in interest and report that my usage has increased EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS OR SO despite the fact that I continue to pay these bloodsuckers on time. Seriously, I get an alert from Experian that my usage on my CareCredit card has "significantly increased" by around 20% every few months. A card that I'm not using and have been paying on time. As soon as I pay this off, I'm washing my hands of these awful people.

You're better off on skipping this credit card. It's not worth it in the long run. Customer service is ridiculous and horrible. Most of the time you're getting the run around on simple questions. The interest rate is extremely high. It's also not widely accepted as well. If i could give zero stars I would. Your credit is not worth the the hard hit inquiry this would put on your credit report.
READ THE REVIEWS AND TAKE THEM SERIOUSLY. TRUST ME ITS NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE.

I borrowed money from Carecredit, what a huge mistake that was, if you pay it off in 60 days then they don't have a chance to charge you a unbelievable amount of interest, so far yr to date I have paid them 263.51 in interest to borrow 800.00 which I borrowed a yr and 2 months ago. I would recommend rethinking any situation that may offer you a carecredit loan. THEY WILL SOAK YOU IF GIVEN A CHANCE.

I think that was the biggest mistake I did in my life... No matter either you pay or not, when the promotion is over, you will then be charged interest on the entire credit, even, if you have $1 left to pay,
BE CAREFUL!

The customer service is horrible. You can barely understand them when talking to customer service and even when you speak to a supervisor you can barley understand them too. If you are few days late on your payment they will call MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY! They will call you at 5 am- 11pm. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone! I can't wait to close this account!

I needed dental work and my husband wanted to finance it. Care Credit was recommended by a dentist and seemed a logical choice. The card was obtained and almost a year later I found a dentist that fit my needs and started the process. During this time my husband decided to go AWOL and file for divorce. No great loss I was tired of the abused anyway. I finished the work paid with Care Credit which is what we agreed upon and went about my business. Next I find out that he has made a complaint against me for credit card fraud saying I obtained the card without his knowledge or permission. He did this with a couple other cards we held jointly as well. Nothing new, just a nasty divorce trick to avoid paying a legit bill. But the fraud part troubled me so I contacted them and explained the situation and that the court would decide who was responsible,, that there had been no fraud. I also told them I wanted them to disassociate my name with any fraud investigation. I could not believe their response. They would not do anything until the bill was paid...WHAT? I told them that sounded an awful lot like extortion to me. I am taking action through every consumer action group I can as well as the Florida Atty. General. In my opinion this is the behavior of loan sharks and mobsters. And did I mention I intend to file suit against them. Oh hell no. I'm not taking it.

CareCredit allows you to call and allocate your payments the way you as the consumer request for your payments to be allocated. I have been trying for almost 2 months, 6 calls later to have 3 payments allocated to a non-promotional balance because its building interest. Im assured at the end of every call that my request is being processed but it never happens. They move my money and continue to disperse it to whatever transactions they please (the promotional ones that are NOT building interest even if they dont expire for another year or so). After my fourth call, I finally asked to speak with a manager. Jessica ID # 1921 came on the phone and was incredibly rude. She would not let me speak, interrupted, controlled the conversation, made many statements such as it doesnt matter and carecredit provides you only with the information that you need to know, and she hung up on me after I was on the phone with 4 other people for 2+ hours trying to figure this all out. Beware of carecredit. And Jessica ID # 1921, is an awful representation of the company. Clearly, she does not like helping customers so I am so confused as to why she has a job in customer service. As a faithful customer of carecredit for about 10 years now, I will no longer be using this company, and have told all of my friends and family as well so they know of the major risks.

I don't normally write any reviews, but I sure think Carecredit deserves one. For anyone considering applying for CareCredit to pay any bills. DONT DO IT! If you plan on paying your bill fairly quick it might be ok, but if you're like me an lost your job due to the pandemic and can only make minimum payments trust me its a bad idea. I was about to pay my bill on the app when I noticed my bill went up $425 and its all interest... When I called they said it was because my promotion was over a month ago. Well $#*!! How was I suppose to know? I'm paperless and the damn promotional end date is at the end of your bill to top it off you really have to search for it. Any who, I asked them if they could please waived the interest as I can pull out from my saving and pay for my bill now without the interest add. I explained that I lost my job due to the pandemic and I just move because Washington state is too expensive to live at now. If he could please cut me some slack, that $425 is a bit much of an add to my bill. He replied with a hard "NO" I was over the month promotional date and he couldn't help me out. It's really messed up when a company doesn't at least try to help you out in any way when you're dealt a $#*!ty hand due to a $#*! virus. So! If you're not planning on paying them quickly Carecredit might not be the correct choice for you. You'll end up paying way more than what you borrowed. Thanks! I hope my review helps.
Tip for consumers:
Look at the end of you bill for a promotional end date and pay your carecredit loan in full before that date expires. Otherwise, you'll be stuck with a huge interest add to your bill.

I have read some of the previous reviews and I agree with all the ones that are telling you NOT to get this card. Synchrony would NOT work with you and CareCredit is through Synchrony. I've called to see if they can work with me so that I can pay this card off... The APR lowered, any new promotions, etc, the answer for me was... "I'm sorry there's nothing we can do." That's a fact, and It's also true that their Reps give out false information. I called to pay off some of my promotional balances bc one of the Reps once told me that if I don't call to tell them how to allocate the payments they won't put it towards my promotional balance. I called and the rep said she would. I paid the amount for some of the so-called promotional balances. A few days later I checked to see the changes and she didn't make any changes. What's even worst is that they don't clearly explain to you how the promotional purchases really work. It's all sketchy and a load of crap. They just want you to keep paying and paying and paying them. I have no idea HOW I owe them as much as I do when I always make $100+ payments. I've been paying for this card since 2014 and I still owe them over $3,000. No matter what I do, it won't go down. Right now, if I pay $140, $70 of it goes towards the interest. That's every month since I got the card. There's something fishy going on there. But no worries bc there are other options if you want to finance your dental or medical visits. AVOID CARECREDIT... DON'T DO IT!

I've been a customer for YEARS. I've been late once and i am spammed at least 10x a day. I can not use the online services as i was told for over 3 months that someone was trying to log in to my account, no matter how many times i changed both my user name AND password. The customer service people had no control over anything and were completely useless in a POTENTIAL FRAUD SITUATION. Having a banking background and knowing what they [mostly cannot] offer, I would rather apply for any other credit card than have this on my credit. It is just embarrassing at this point. If you are going to "provide" emergency credit support, answer the f****ing phone after 5:00 pm.

I was approved of the gift card after I had 2000. In dental work charged with care credit.
I did it IN THE TIME FRAME ALLOWED. Got an approval and was told to pick which card. I chose Target. I NEVER RECEIVED IT. I CALLED 3 TIMES. GIVEN LAME EXCUSES AND SO THEY LIED!
Tip for consumers:
Don't use care credit . Liars

I honestly don't even want to give them a 1 star! They deserve NO STARS! CareCredit honestly SUCKS! It took them 6 MONTHS TO CHANGE A DUE DATE and SEVERAL calls and complaints from me! I don't even want to continue paying them with my hard earned money! Mind you i pay WAY more than my minimum payments $300-$500 and my minimum is only $130!

Promotional purchases and payment info is easy to understand. I love the 6-12 interest free based on how much the vets charge is. Really helps with the costs.

I was excited received my paper copy of card, made an appointment with Sam's club to get glasses. Sam's can not take paper copy, in this day and age they have no way of ordering online and letting me insert credit card information? I had my ID's. CreditCare said at the very bottom of page three in that tiny little print it says that about Sam's - Why wouldn't it be in BIG BOLD PRINT?

Whatever you do, please do not apply for or get a Care Credit card. It is essentially worthless, especially when you need it most. I made a $700 payment on my account last week. The payment cleared my bank account and shows that Care Credit received it on 9-13-19. Last night my dog was viciously attacked by another dog and we had to rush him to an after-hours veterinarian clinic for treatment. Imagine my distress when my card was declined because Care Credit posted my payment to my account but did not increase my credit limit to reflect it. I called a customer service representative today for assistance and I was told it would be another 5 days until my $700 payment is reflected in my credit limit. The payment has cleared my bank account already and yet there will not be an available credit limit change until 10 days after Care Credit received it. I was told that the credit limit would not be adjusted sooner because I had made a large payment. So, I am being penalized because I made a larger payment that is more than the minimum. Also, my dog may need additional surgery this week and I will still not have access to my card or my available credit in time. Instead of helping me with this problem the customer service representative from Care Credit suggested that I increase my credit limit so that I could then use my card. I just want access to the credit limit that I currently have and the payment that I already made. Like I first indicated, this card is useless and a waste of time and money.

Care credit is literally the worst, they are always adding mysterious interest/ unnecessary charges to my acccount I had one promotional purchase active and made several payments a month for the remaining 4 months it would be active and barely 10% of each payment even went towards that promotion. Took 3 representatives and a supervisor later to correct the issue why do you think I'm making so many payments a month? Obviously to pay off the promotion since they like to slap you with back interest if not paid in full ( which is stated in the paperwork and I was aware of) which is why I was trying to pay it in full but there is nothing in any fine print that states if you want your full monthly payment put towards a promotional purchase you have to call and allocate the payment towards whatever purchase you want to pay off. We offer care credit at the vet I work at and trust me it's horrible having to offer such a horrible credit card service but in an emergency it's like you have no choice but I warn everyone about all the issues I've experienced so hopefully they keep up on their account and pay close attention to the account activity. Shame on care credit.

I've been a loyal care credit holder for 9 years. Financed several large transactions with them and paid them off in full early, each time. They all of a sudden closed my account and reopened a new one for me, hurting my credit score. I called them about this and they didn't care at all. I recently financed another large purchase with them. While in the attempt to pay the balance off in full early again they all of a sudden closed my account just because a payment got returned to them. It wasn't even late or the minimum payment or overdue. It was an extra payment. I went on vacation and my bank froze my bill pay for security reasons. They didn't even call me to talk to me first. When I called them to explain and ask how to send my remaining payments even though I had no where to send it because they closed my account, they talked to me like I was trash and a criminal. I've never been talked to anyway close to this by any lender or business. They absolutely do not value their customers at all. I'm a home owner and have over an 800 credit score. Care credit treats their loyal card holders like TRASH when they've never done anything wrong. I don't see why anyone would deal with this company. They don't even make an effort to communicate with you. Definitely stay away from this company! This is the worst customer service I've received from any company in my life!

I have had care credit for years due to having three dogs. I have run up and paid off the card over the years- literally giving this company thousands upon thousands of dollars. One of our dogs had a sudden expensive medical crisis in December of 2020 leading to a six day hospital stay and ultimately had to put to sleep - adding $6000 to my card. I gladly did whatever I could for a treasured pet. This gave me very high monthly payments which I haven't missed payment on. Twice the company has charged me a late charge for payment on my due date. Both of which showed on my account as pending and with a confirmation number. When I called customer service, they said it wasn't really a late fee. Hmmm. I received an email about whether I wanted to make a payment (the day after I paid), my account showed overdue and it said I owed a late fee. This all mysteriously disappeared after talking to a rep. I truly believe this company intends to do this on purpose so that customers pay extra fees that are not accurate. This has never happened once with any other credit card I have ever owned. A true scam.
