Made my account for my knee surgery the morning of, was told it was active
Went to use it and ended up being on the phone for an hour because they said it wasn't active yet.
Now that my first payment came around, I made it on time and still got charged a late fee the next day so I made another payment along with a report. 2 days later I check and they took BOTH payments. Now my account is negative and I won't get my money back for another 3 weeks. CANCELLING AS SOON AS ITS PAID OFF

I am really surprised at what I am reading regarding Care Credit. I have had Care Credit for at least 10 years. I always paid my balance off before the promotional deadline. They have saved me many times on vet bills, and medical bills. For my dogs dental work, they extended my time which is based on what your balance is... for example, if your bill is under a certain amount- for example, $800, they will give you six months 0 interest to pay it off. If it is over a thousand, which my dog's dental was, (which is what my vet charges everyone for dental work), then they give you 2 years with 0 interest to pay it off. I have no complaints against them. The service provider always tells me my limit and how much time I have to pay it. I call Care Credit and never have a problem getting through either. I was even a month late from the promotional date, and they allowed me to be extended with 0 interest. Yes, I got a call about a Mastercard, but I just told them I did not want it. I have no problems with Care Credit at all, and from my experience, they do not jack up any pricejust because you use their card... they haven't for me anyway. I also have excellent credit. Thank You CC, you saved me a lot in interest.

My credit is far from perfect.
This card was easy to get and allowed me to take care of my teeth.
I found it easy to pay off early without any hassles.

I HAVE USED CARE CREDIT IN THE PAST FOR DENTAL CHARGES, BUT BECAUSE I DID NOT PAY OFF THE CHARGES IN A YEAR CARE CREDIT ADDED OVER $600 TO MY LOAN. DON'T BORROW ANY MONEY FROM THIS COMPANY. THE INTEREST RATE IS 30% AND I HAVE GREAT CREDIT. WHATS UP WITH THAT? I NEVER HAD TROUBLE IN THE PAST BUT NOW IT IS TERRIBLE.
Tip for consumers:
DON'T USE THEM AT ALL. FIND ANOTHER WAY

They lowered my credit limit for no reason. Payments were on time. Not due until 3 days. Only explanation is they saw my balances on my other cards go up. Don't apply

My dentist recommended Care Credit for two costly procedures. We unfortunately do not have dental insurance because my husband is self-employed. Since Care Credit is
A "dedicated health and wellness credit line," and very often provides assistance to people who have no insurance or insufficient insurance, I just assumed Care Credit would provide that needed assistance at a fair interest rate. When I realized how little progress I've made in reducing my balance, I called Care Credit to get the current interest rate and learned it was approximately 28%. I was absolutely appalled that Care Credit could charge such a ridiculous interest rate, especially to the population they service. I blame myself for making so many assumptions; I just never could have imagined that a company would take advantage of people who need help with paying for health/dental care. I truthfully have never heard of such a high interest rate by a reputable company. Unless you are absolutely sure you can pay your balance off in one year, I wouldn't recommend this company to my worse enemy.

Whenever I use my care credit card at the vets office they ask if I would like to be put on a 6 month no interest plan. Well I received a ton of deferred interest charges even though I signed up for the not interstate's plan. They said because of an automatic payment I had set up 3 years ago was set up to withdraw for a certain amount, it took priority over all of the 6 month no interest charges I was making. Be sure to check and double check when your probations ends because they make a profit of being EXTREMELY DECEPTIVE.

My wisdom teeth were impacted and causing me a bunch of problems. I have permanent jaw issues from not being able to afford to pay to get them out when I was 19. So the oral surgeon told me about CareCredit. I was approved and was able to get my wisdom teeth out. Awesome, right? Wrong. Their interest rates are abserd. If you're literally one day late on your payment they'll charge you a $25 late fee that's just free money to them. I ended up getting so sick of making monthly payments and it never touching my balance that my dad ended up paying it off for me. A couple years later I had my daughter, since hospitals send bills from 80 different places when you have a baby I had a couple small doctor bills hit collections and ding my credit report. Right after that, CareCredit sent me a letter stating that they're closing my account due to 'recent credit inquiries'... What? I use it, pay it off, and they keep running my credit and close my account for absolutely no reason? I was never more than a day late with them, and closing credit accounts hurt your overall credit health. I never would have used them again, but how can they just close my account when I was always in good standing with them? They get away with it because they know that sometimes people are in bad situations and need help-and they feed off of that. Terrible terrible business.

The only reason Care Credit exists is because people are desperate for medical, dental, or veteranarian help. Most of these places require payment in full at the time of service. Many of us are desperate to get help and will do almost anything to get the help needed and that's where they come in.
If you don't use it regularly or keep a balance you will have to reapply before you are issued a new account #. Personally had 3.
If you need to reach an operator on the automated system, don't respond to the cues. Otherwise you can't reach the operator for a long time. You must go all the way to the end of all the prompts before you you will have the option for an agent, and it's very annoying. It also can't understand high pitched voices.
When you finally reach an operator/agent they all seem quite helpful and friendly but as I said it takes a long time.
Ask the service you are seeking if there is any other payment option available before signing up. If you must set an account up make sure it's autopay because you will pay dearly for any missed payment.

I have been a loyal Carecredit card holder for almost a year now. Have recently been very diligent about increasing my credit score as I would like to buy a home in the near future. I have always had on time payments, I have good credit and just a $1400 limit with Carecredit which I used for some dental work. I was about to request an increase to use them for an upcoming procedure so I made a $500 payment to my card so that the balance could be low before I requested the increase and it TOOK 6 DAYS to get taken out of my account. WHY would any payment take that long. In the meantime, I double checked the app and the payment said "posted" and the $500 subtracted from my balance so I stopped paying as much attention. They then reversed the charge, closed my account, and now my credit is going to take a hit all because of their stupid processing time. If I had known like if they had tried to put any effort into reaching out to me to let me know there was an issue with the processing, then this wouldn't have been an issue. I will not be doing business with them in the future and will certainly be telling everyone I know to steer clear of this scam company. They know how much closing an account like that for a simple processing error can impact someones credit, and they simply do not care. Everyone always talks about how creditors want to work with borrowers they trust. Well in this case this company is not trust worthy and doesn't care about its borrowers so I will never be doing business with them again.

Do not use this company.

First I want to say I have prefect pay history on all my accounts I have never missed it been late on any accounts. I have a very sick cat he is not eating or now going to the bathroom it's truly an emergency and I set up an appointment to take him to the vet that takes Carecredit. That same afternoon I get a notification that they disconnected my account for no good reason. So I had to Cancel my Appointment because they do not offer payment arrangements and I can not afford what it will cost out of pocket to get the medical assistance needed for my cat the test the medication and everything else. So this will most likely lead to the death of my cat who I have had for almost 13 years. So pissed if I could rate them a zero or less I would. Stay away from this company they do not care and I am seeing that they this year alone have disconnected a lot of other people as well like they are dumping accounts on purpose. So stay away from them because when you need this card the most to help with your medical or the medical of your cat like me they can turn it off and make up whatever reason to do so. The customer service is Useless they will not or can not help. They refused to give me a corporate number but did give me a PO BOX in Florida where there corporate office is located. So if your a pet owner get pet insurance it's monthly but atleast your loved one is covered. I can not get insurance because it will take 2 weeks to activate and my cat does not have that kind of time. Stay Away from this company and this card or Good luck and hope you do not end up in my situation.
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from CareCredit they shut me down after almost 2 years. I have always paid all my accounts on time never late and they shut me down because I had a high balance on a few accounts because I have fallen on some hard times with personal issues yet still have made every paid ment on time and on Carecredit account my balance is zero perfect payment history. So this company is shady and because it's medical card they took this away from me when my Cat needed it the most.

So apparently if you try to get ahead and make your payment early it doesn't count... case: due date is 18th-$148 min
April payment on 5th $148
April payment on 30th $225
May payment on 24th $150
June late fee 18th
So apparently the may payment made on the 24th which should have covered the June due date of the 18th doesn't count... any payments made from the 18th of May to the 24th possibly the 27th (She didn't have an exact date) don't count towards the following months payment...

I signed up for this credit card when our dog had a stroke and we racked up over $6000 in vet and specialty bills. I had been diligently making payments to avoid interest fees and then made additional charges for other smaller vet visits. When I had expected that I would have had the original balance paid off, I then started incurring interest charges. When I called them to question it, they told me that (unlike other cards like Best Buy via Citibank) they do not automatically apply payments to the oldest promotional balances, which should be the only way they would apply them to get The older promotional balances paid off before applying to more recent promotional balances that aren't close to expiring. The "agent" even told that there is a complex formula used to decide which promotional balance to apply payments to "that they don't even understand". Yeah sure, I think it's clear that they know exactly how it calculates it - the best way for them to make money for themselves! If you are already using this scam company, get your balance paid off ASAP! If you're not already using them, DON'T!

I went to the website and arranged Care Credit to take $100 out of my checking account once a month. Imagine MY surprise when they took out the $100 and then three days later took $3000! I had NO money in my checking account. I called on a Wednesday crying that I had no money and I was PROMISED that I would have my refund check within 3 to 5 days. On Monday I called again and was promised that I would have the refund on Wednesday. On Wednesday when I still did not have my check I called and the agent told me that the check wasn't cut until Tuesday (6 days from my initial call) and I could expect it soon. (Are you freaking kidding me?) THEN a supervisor said no, no one told you that you would have that check in 3 to 5 days. I have no money, no one cares, and I will spend the rest of my life telling people NOT to use Care Credit.

I was paying off my care credit every month, on time, had NO missed payments and then withOUT warning, they closed my account. Customer service is NONEXISTENT. Once they closed the account, I had no warning, and the balance was almost paid off. They saw that, they closed it and ABSURD amount of fees with that. It's almost back up to what the original balance was. SCAMMERS. FRAUD. STAY AWAY!

850 is the best FICO score anyone can get. CareCredit refused to lower their interest rate from 26.9%. Said it is the interest rate "across the board" for all. I do know that if your medical person applies, the rate will be whatever he/she and CareCredit agree on which can be lower. But if you have them as a credit card they will charge 26.9 percent interest no matter how perfect your credit is. About that promotional rate for $200 or more expenditure: I paid $204 for my mother's medicine using CareCredit. They said that since i used the card at a pharmacy, the promotional rate did not apply and I couldn't have it.
If your medical person or vet applies for you you may end up with a good deal. Never apply for it yourself. But beware, once that interest free period ends, you are in for it, as others here have explained.
Apply for a Visa or MasterCard with a good long interest-free period after first opening the account, and get your procedure done (or your pet's) and then pay as you normally would. And watch out for any card that says if you don't pay it off by the end of the promotional period, they will charge you for all the back interest that you didn't have to pay.

I used a six month promotional period to take care of a dental procedure. I paid the amount off before the deadline and was charged 0 interest on the purchase. They are legitimate, but will take advantage of you if you are not attentive.
Here are the specifics:
They ultimately rely on deferred interest to make money. This means, when you use it for a promotional purchase, if you are late on any payments or fail to completely pay it off, you will be charged a high interest percentage on the principle amount.
Autopay: Is a sham. If there are any issues with it, that causes you to be late on a payment, they will charge you the deferred interest amount. Don't use it. Instead make sure to manually pay.
Paying Your Bill: The easiest way is adding a bank account, logging in once a month and paying it manually. People have reported issues with payments going to the cards full balance rather than the promotional amount. This is because the default is set to pay the card amount off. You have to manually choose what promotional period you want to pay, in order to ensure money is added towards that account. And do the math. Never just pay the minimum. Figure out how much your need to pay each month so that the whole amount is fully paid off.
Don't use this, if you are not responsible enough for it. There are no Grace periods, one mistake will cost you a lot of money. Lastly keep all the records, and I recommend removing your bank account information when you are done paying it off.

I have to say, I was perfectly content with Care Credit until today. I was going to pay off my monthly bill and looked at the amount they were telling me to pay each month and the total I still have left to pay off in the first year in order to not accrue interest. Since the numbers didn't look right to me, I decided to do some calculations to see what I actually would need to be paying each month so that by the end I don't end up getting the interest charges. Turns out I need to be paying $400 a month. No where on the bill did it say that I should pay that much at all. All numbers on the bill were in the $100 range, all less than $150. So no indication of what I actually needed to be paying to pay this off in a year. The only thing they advertised was the minimum payment so there was no way if I stuck to those payments, I could truly pay it off in a year. Thank goodness I was smart enough to question the numbers coming my way and could tell it didn't look right. If I just blindly trusted and paid off the amount that was actually written in my statements each month, I would have absolutely accrued major interest by the end. All I have to say is wow. I wonder how many people they scam like this every day and every year. Despicable.

It is amazing to me that doctors offices refer their patients to this company, just so they can get paid. I think very little of doctors offices that offer this company. Great Southern Smiles in Germantown, TN offered me this option because they were not willing to take low monthly payments over a 12 month period. If I could not afford to pay you without interest, what made you think I could afford an interest bearing loan?
They say I was late one month so, I decided to set up an e-bill payment plan through my bank to pay each month. I was paying $5 more every month to avoid interest and to pay it off sooner. Three months later, I get calls back to back about my account. When I actually talk to synchrony, they tell me that I owe $80 for my bill and late fees. My bill is only $25. That means, I have a $55 late fee?! I did not realize that my $25 required payment would charge $9 for being a day late, so I paid $30. The $4 that I did not realize was not paid made every months payment after that considered late with interest added. Now if I am paying $5 more every month, why do I now owe $55 in late fees?
This company and the doctors' offices that use them are only looking out for their own best interest, not yours. DO NOT DO IT!
The least the doctor's office could do is tell you beforehand how much your insurance will cover. No, they do the work then tell you what they did not cover. Then they sale this rip-off company to you.
I wish I had checked the reviews first. I know better now.

I utilized the care credit card to have a root canal taken care of. When it came time to pay the bills, I requested a paperless statement and gave them my email. Over the course of four months, I never received a statement via email, nor received any statement at all. My first payment was late, because I never received a statement with due dates, yet I was informed via email that I would be charged "late fees". I called and requested these fees be removed. They were. Here is where this company begins its unethical behavior. I never got another email statement, even though, I gave this company my email address 4 separate times. I acquired 2 more late fees, while not getting statements in the mail or email. I simply was not informed of due dates for payments, but was informed that I will be assessed late fees. I attempted to contact them again, to give them my email address to make sure I get statements so I am not late with my obligations. Long story short, to this day I have not received an email statement, nor a mailed paper statement. Yet I have been assessed late fees three times. This is clearly a strategic way for this component to make money; They do not inform you of when payments are due, but inform you immediately when they are assessing late fees.
