I've used care credit before for smaller procedures (less than $1500) and had no problems. Then I got older and procedures are easy more expensive now. My bill was $*******+ so if course I had no choice but to apply for care credit. Got approved for 10k. It's awesome to have a choice to pay a bill without interest. However, my memory isn't as great as it used to be and totally forgot when the "interest free" party would end. They didn't didn't me a notice that it was ending and if they did, they buried it where I didn't see it. My bill came in and was charged nearly $6000 in interest! THANK YOU CREDIT KARMA FOR HELPING ME RUIN MY LIFE

Our dentist stated this was a zero percent interest credit card. We used it to pay for my wife's dental surgery. The first statement came in late in August and stated we owed a minimum of $30 by Sept 1. I sent them $1500. I did not get another bill till September 25 and it stated that I owed a $30 late fee and that I needed to send a minimum of $60 by Oct 1. This time I sent them $1060. On Oct 22, I received a bill that stated I owed another late fee and I needed to send a minimum of $60 by November 1. I sent them $560. On November 21, I received a bill that stated I owed only $500, I sent them a check for $500. Today I received a bill that says I owe another $30 late fee, the statement showed the last $500 mysteriously posted on Dec 2. I called Care Credit and their automated system states it is cancelling the last late charge. When I talk to a real person, they cannot confirm that my balance is now zero. I had the funds to pay for the dental surgery upfront, our dentist told us how good this company is. Never Again! This seems like a scam to late charge people no matter how much they pay.

I had some dental work done and charged the almost $900 on my CareCredit card and paid it off in the 24 months As outlined when I charged the $900 ( for it to be interest-free). As soon as I paid it off I received a letter stating they closed my account. They then said it was something on my credit report that made the decision for them to close my account. The kicker to this whole lie is my credit report was better after I paid it off then it was before they approved me so if that's the case why did I even get approved? I called them and customer service is extremely rude! They talk to you like you're nobody and as if they did you any favors but yet you gave them your business. The representative then told me three different reasons why it was closed and when I confronted her about each issue she gave me and asked why did she keep changing the reason she became more rude. So look somewhere else if you need credit for medical or veterinarian or Optical expenses. This is definitely not the company to deal with.

We applied for and received a large line of credit, but did not charge anything with them. We applied simply because they advertised "No Interest If Paid In Full" over a period of time ranging from 6-18 month, so we applied and received enough to cover braces for 2 kids. When we presented the card at the orthodontist, they laughed and said, "you know it will still be 17% interest, right?" And they gave us 14 mos at zero percent on their own! I called to cancel the CareCredit account, at which point I was told they won't cancel accounts withing 72 hours of opening them. So, they ran our credit and I now have another open account on my credit report, both of which lower my credit rating, all because of deceptive marketing practices.

If you are thinking of getting CareCredit, check with your Dr first before you apply. It's likely not as good of a deal as they purport it to be. It also appears to me that they are trying to get lower income folks signed up so they can hit them with high interest rates over the duration of the promotional period and then slam them with higher rates when the period ends and they haven't been able to pay. Reminds me of the credit card companies camped out at college campuses. As an aside, their customer service reps treat you like collection folks do - mine were rude and were talking to me like dirt before they even looked up my account. Really unfortunate.

Care Credit was confusing right out the gate. The system is not user friendly, for my first payment I accidentally ended up paying off the $5,000 promotional non interest loan. However, a representative set me up for Paperless billing that only appeared on my phone and with a payment that was suppose to have the loan paid off before the expiration date BUT it was only the minimum payment so I had a balance at the end. In March, I did not get a statement, (Covid?) warning me that my promotion was about to expire. My promotion ended, unbeknownst to me so I ended up paying $2,340 finance fee plus 29% interest. I spoke with 5 different representatives and NONE of them had the authority to renegotiate any of the fees. I will NEVER use this company again. I am so angry and feel like a fool for letting this slip through the cracks. Find a different company, I am also angry that the doctor offices push these loans, I could have taken the money out of my retirement fund now I just wasted $2,340.

THIS IS THE WORST CARD EVER OR COMPANY TO DEAL WITH. I HAD MY CARD FOR 3 YEARS WHICH I USED FOR MY PETS, I MADE MY PAYMENTS ON TIME AND THEY JUST CLOSED THE ACCOUNT WITHOUT NOTICE. WHEN I CALLED THEY SAID THEY CHECKED MY CREDIT AND I AM A RISK REALLY! I HAVE NEVER BEEN LATE ON A PAYMENT. AND I LIKE TO KNOW WHO GAVE THEM PERMISSION TO CHECK MY CREDIT.
BAD BUSINESS!

Most fraudulent credit card I have ever owned. They require a large monthly payment or you pay 27% interest. Their statement never tells you the amount to pay to avoid the interest charge.

If I could give Care Credit ZERO stars I would because the process and Synchony Bank is certifiable TRASH. They don't give a crap about people, or long term customers. The whole freaking thing is a fraud. You'll find unauthorized charges, your credit amount can be changed on a whim. Overall, CareCredit SUCKS!

I wish I would have read the reviews. Because of these slimeballs, my credit has dropped, even though I have paid more than my balance each month AND have NEVER been late on a payment.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM CARE CREDIT.

Tip for consumers:
Even when you try to reach out to them to discuss issues with your account, they just don't respond. Its one of the worst companies I have ever personally been exposed to.

I have paid every month on my care credit credit card for 2 years.
I got Lasik surgery and paid through a promotion where there would be no interest for 2 years.

My minimum payments decreased monthly. I owed a very little amonunt left that I stressed I would be HAPPY to pay off - I just was doing the minimum payments each month for 2 year.

Since I had owed the small amount and the 2 year promotion was up I was charged over 2k interest for the past 2 years.

The Care Credit Rep said I needed to remember my promotional end date FROM 2 YEARS AGO.

There was no email, text, or app notifications that my promotion was about to end OR that I would be charged 2K on intrest for the past 2 years.

I waiting over 2 hours to talk with 3 different reps -when I finally got to a Manager he agreed that my situation is sad and that its a broken system.

Does not do me much good - paying twice the amount on a loan I almost had paid off in 2 years.

Yes - sad and broken indeed.

I had an account with care credit for almost ten years. I couldn't open it by myself so my boy friend at the time co signed. Last year he decided to claim the account was fraudulently opened using his information. You would think they would contact the PRIMARY ACCOUNT HOLDER which was me to see what was going on. Of course they didn't. I didn't know about it until I tried to go and make a payment. They then concluded their "investigation" and closed my account again without me knowing. I had to call to find all of this out.

I then contacted corporate and they didn't do anything. It's a shame bc I had this amount for so long. And yes over the years I did try to get his name taken off but I couldn't. It's just baffling that he could easily make a false fraud claim against an almost decade old account and have it closed just like that. Crazy thing is I was helping his credit all this time with this line of credit.

Care credit should be ashamed of themselves for not even contacting me about anything. I paid off the balance and will NEVER open an account with them again. I will also tell everyone else about how they treated me. I guess bc they weren't making any interest off me they didn't care anyways. Too bad bc I know lots of women who get and are interested in getting surgeries. I will not recommended care credit.

I have been a Care Card customer for almost 10 years. Never been late on a payment, never missed a payment. Only used the card for vet emergencies and always paid it off in the allotted time to keep my interest rate at 0%.
Took my cat to the hospital for an emergency tonight and tried to use the credit card and it was declining. Called customer service and was told that my account was closed due to my credit status. The girl told me they do periodic credit reviews and mine had too many issues to keep it open so they closed it. I explained that I have never had any issues with this card, and in fact my credit is far superior now to when I opened the card. She said it doesn't matter, she can see my account wad in good standing with Care Credit but it's not just based off your history with care them. I asked if there was anything that could be done, because I also don't want this reported negatively as a closed account in my credit; I have been a good customer, etx. She said no-nothing can be done. What a way to treat your customers! Is it even legal to check your credit if you don't agree to it (unless it's at the time that you open the account)? Thanks for nothing Care Credit, and I'll be sure to tell everyone I know how awesome you are!

This is not a scam. Like most banks who lend money, you have to pay loan off by end date, or there is usually a stiff penalty. That's one of ways banks make money, and they generally are not happy if you don't pay it off on time, honoring your agreement with them. This is one way you get good credit and are deemed responsible. Most all credit cards are backed by banks and you have to stick with your agreement with them, or you are penalized; by late payment fees, for example.
With no interest promotion credit cards there are strict rules about how card is no longer interest free if you don't pay in full by promotion end date and they tell you clearly that this is the deal, All your accrued interest will be added to your principal if not paid off by promo end. I always pay in full a few weeks before promo ends and send the last payment with a return receipt so i have evidence that i paid it off on time.

Unfortunately these promotional cards work better for people who don't really need the loan, but want to leverage their money with a no interest loan. If you are sometimes short on funds you would do better paying monthly interest on a card where the minimum payment will be less and so will the interest if you can't make a payment on time. But for cards that have no interest promotions, the rules are the same for all of them. It's not a scam, it's just the way business works.

So I opened this account a few months ago. Applied for $1500. 00, and was approved. Roughly 7 months later I get a noticed from Experian a few days ago, that Carecredit has REDUCED my line of credit, which HAS HAD A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON MY CREDIT! So I send a message to Carecredit to find out why was the reduction done, being that I PAY MY BILL! Miminal payment is roughly $27/mo, BUT I HAVE AN AUTO PAYMENT OF $150/month. GO FIGURE! I got a reply today stating that due to an inquiry into my credit history, the decision was made to REDUCE my line of credit. Did I mention that I PAY MY BILL ON TIME! So NOT happy, have requested them to close my account when balance is paid, will just use bank card or VISA!

When I wanted a cosmetic procedure, the Dr said he indeed takes Carecredit. I was happy UNTIL he explained what happens. Care credit charges 19% of the procedure EXTRA to the Dr just for the USE OF THEIR SERVICES! In other words... my procedure was 11,800... BUT IF I USE CARE CREDIT... The Dr is charged 2200 EXTRA for the option to use/ offer their service. so.OF COURSE THE DR HAS TO ADD 2200 TO THE PRICE IF MY SURGERY! That's the difference between doing the surgery and NOT doing it. It's not fair that I'm penalized for utilizing a service that's OFFERED as an option. I think the Dr should drop Carecredit and not offer it... not fair in the least. I ended up using my airline miles card, which gave me a free round trip ticket in return, then transferred the debt to a 0% card for 3 years. No way carecredit... No

I had been charged interest every month, even during the 6 month interest free promo. I tried and tried to call and talk to someone, but was difficult while at work. Finally got a hold of them today, after waiting 15 minutes on hold. Their representative was rude, she blamed me and wouldn't listen. I just wanted to know why I paid interest every month and why in March, they charged me $218 in interest in one month. She said we spent less than $200 each charge, and if I read the contract, I would know we would be charged interest. I explained that my very first charge was for the emergency vet and an overnight stay that was over $1500. She argued with me and talked over me and told me I made all of these purchases under $200 and she said I should check with my co-applicant. I tried to explain that I am the only with the card and then she hung up on me. These interest charges are insane, $218 in one month! I will also tell everyone to stay away! I was in an emotionally vulnerable state of losing my 14 year old dog, and they take advantage of that. I am still paying for our baby we lost in November, and with these interests rates, I will be paying for year. I will pay this off in full and close this account.

I have a great credit history, but my CareCredit application was denied due to them apparently being unable to verify my identity. Uh, what? I provided all requested information for the online application. They wouldn't tell me what the specific problem was with the identity verification nor give me an option to provide any additional info that would be needed. Instead I got a generalized statement in the mail that I was denied due to their inability to satisfactorily verify my identity. I wrote to the provided address to ask if I could provide any lacking information so my application could be reconsidered, and I then received another generalized, unhelpful response/denial in the mail.

There is no reason they shouldn't be able to verify who I am. I'm a U.S. citizen and have been since birth. I don't know what the hell their problem is or why they're unwilling to sort it out with me. Nope, just deny. What a crock.

CareCredit goes through Synchrony bank, meaning this may be more a review of Synchrony than of CareCredit, but hey if CareCredit is choosing to partner with Synchrony and this is what happens, then CareCredit deserves the review as well.

I have been using carecredit for YEARS and they finally messed up and did not take any responsibility for it. I pay 100 dollars twice a month, sometimes a little less depending on my balance. The last payment was was made at 156.00 (which is what I owed to my vet) and I did this to enter their cash back giveaway. I received a confirmation email that the payment was processed and even got a confirmation number. A few days later my account balance doubled. I called my bank- they never received confirmation of a payment nor was a payment withdrawn from my bank account. I spoke to at least 5 robotic and foreign costumer service representatives that kept repeating themselves. They kept telling me there was nothing they could do to correct their mistake because NOW I have a large balance to pay. They probably did it on purpose so the interest rates on my account went up. I called finally and spoke to another person- a manager. He told me they wouldn't charge me late fees or interest... wow, so freaking helpful. Where is their costumer service even based? India? I don't trust this company anymore and I am going to further investigate this. Something sneaky going on with them. Their CO should be ashamed of himself.

I've been a Carecredit customer for YEARS now and I have never had a complaint until today. I called in to speak about a dispute that I had open and since I had closed my previous card, I couldn't see any of my past transactions, so I called in. I spoke to a person who calls herself an "account manager" by the name of Shannon and she was completely unprofessional. I have never spoken to a customer service representative that sounded like they hated their job and calling in with questions was such an inconvenience to her. As a CS representative you should understand that people are going to call in with questions and might even been a little frustrated, but we only respond by how we are treated. She refused to clarify anything to me as I'm trying to explain to her what I have on my end. Instead repeating the same thing over and over with attitude not even letting me explain things on my end but got upset with me when I started getting upset. I requested to be transferred to someone else and the other representative was lovely. She was able to help me and even offered to send out paper statements so I could get a better look at my account. Sadly, I forgot to get her name. Needless to say, CareCredit needs to be careful who they name "account managers" because that experience was completely unacceptable. They are the face of the company are this is not a good look. I will NOT be recommending this company to anyone if that is how we are going to be treated!

I have never in my life experienced such horrible service. The people who answer the phones to "help you" dont know anything. Then when i asked to speak to someone in management they said i cant. And the whole reason i called them in the first place was because i owe a $250 late charge for being 8 days late on my very first payment because i thought my payment was due on the day i went to pay it... When i tried to explain to them it was my first month paying and i got my pay date mixed up they said there was nothing they could do... I have never in my life! $250 dollars for a week late? Ive had $20 dollar month late fees waived with no problem but really TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS FOR A WEEK LATE AND THERES NOTHING THEY CAN DO thats unheard of. Ive never been so angry in my life.
