I had a Care Credit card that I could only use for medical purchases and it was great. The company sent me a new card that was also a MasterCard so that I could "use" it for other purchases. I say "use" because it would never process through. I tried it at my Dr. Office, Dentist and Vet and each time it would never go through and I would have to use another card. I also tried to "use" it for gas and other purchases and the same thing would happen. I opened a ticket and after a month of "research" I was told to have my Dr's and Vet to process it as a regular Care Credit charge rather than a Master Card. So my Vet tried to process a charge again and it would not process and when she followed instructions the help she received was sub par, her words. So I called to go back to the regular charge and was told that was not possible. I asked to speak to a supervisor and when asked why explained that it made no sense that I couldnt change back to the plain card. At this point the rep got snippy which made me snippy and I ended up cancelling this card and I will not go back to this bank or card.

I have had CareCredit for many years not using it for promotional medical bills to have 0% financing etc. But in March 2018 they automatically signed me up for a MasterCard WITHOUT MY approval! :( I have contacted them multiple times, been hung up on many times (during transfers from department to department etc). I have been polite with them but they refuse to give me what I am asking for is to close the NEW MasterCard account that I never gave them the OK to. Per one of the reps it's because I have done such good business with them & was approved for a MasterCard. Well I don't want them checking my credit, nor opening a credit card that I don't want or need. This is FRAUD! I am very unhappy with the service I have received trying to get this closed out. I will NEVER recommend them & can't wait till I can pay off what I do owe them & close if for good! Synchrony bank is part of this scam & I will refuse to do any business with them due to the services they are providing.
This is sad as for people whom need to use this type of credit to pay medical bills just to live & we get treated like this. I am a responsible person, I pay my bills on time & pay them off as quick as possible.
Please think twice before opening any type of account with Carecredit or Synchrony bank! (Synchrony bank is used for various types of credit, furniture, medical, retail stores etc... watch out so you don't get scammed too!

Care Credit offered $5000 credit with two years to pay it down with NO INTEREST. This was for a dental procedure that cost $5000. I paid the $5000 down to $1000 and was aware that at that point they would start charging me interest ON THE REMAINING BALANCE. NOT SO. They assessed an interest payment on the full $5000 for $1,446.00. SO...unless you pay off THE ENTIRE AMOUNT at the end of the no interest grace period they are going to charge you interest as if you hadn't paid anything to that point. Let me put this another way: if you paid all of your balance off with the exception of a $10 balance they are going to assess an interest payment...in this example based on $5000...somewhere in the area of $2,500.
This is highly unusual and frankly very deceptive.
I called the call service number immediately and got into a heated argument with the rep. I was told that if I paid off the $1000 remaining balance at that moment the assessed interest rate would be removed. That is what I did. I will follow up in 1-2 days. We will see.

I have had CareCredit several years and never been late or returned payment. My bank put a hold on my account, which Was there error. I immediately called CareCredit twice and spoke with them, they assure me everything was fine. Today I fine out they closed my account! Told them I could get a letter from the bank it wasn't my fault. Gave me some run around about when I took card I agreed if there was a returned check- they would close account. Told them I wanted to see that in writing, started back pedaling. Supervisor was total jerk when I told him to look at my documented calls concerning my situation. I have paid the thousand of dollars on time, never late, never one returned check and this is how they treat their customers? No loyalty! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. If you get in a bind, or barely mess up they have no mercy and nail you to the wall. Oh yeah, they jacked my payment way up on the balance I owe! Such an example of exempilary business ethics. Nobody speaks English in that company!

FYI, I reviewed statements from 2012 - today. Their practices are or should be against the law! I spoke to a CRep/female 2x on same day..., that attitude? I'm not sure how she got away with it, telling me conflicting stories until I finally spoke to a Manager? Well, in my opinion it's not a solution, to defer the amount 30 more days when another one is due yet the whole time my two year long promotions, with an amount that doesn't qualify for two years ( I read their policy) and is minimal has been paid off in whole just about. Trickery. Only two prior to promotional ending payments are used to pay down the relevant promotion. They didn't even do that. I went back to last year, when the two were the only ones on statements. History shows, in other years too, that I was almost done paying when emergency vet service was needed. So, since adding that onto account they just take money of a balance which is low, use it elsewhere! And we, the card holders are the dummies. Somebody had gotten up earlier, not me! I'll recalculate the last two years, and each discrepancy will be brought to light... Under GE Capital I NEVER had these problems. Everyone taken for a ride... submit a clam to FTC, the consumer protection unit. The more the merrier. CARE CREDIT counts on folks not paying attention to their moving $$ around. Please be super vigilant! We have rights too and don't need nor want to be lied too! Thank you. - only gave a Star Bc I had to... Star - not for their greatness!

Used care card twice for my dog being to the vet first time had problems but paid off card second time I used was for a vet bill $560 they did not send me any paperwork or due date for 3 months then when I did get it from a phone call they tacked on late fees for 3 months in a total of over $110 when I told them that it was their fault that I never received any notice of when the payment was due and the actual due amount I made them a payment then I made another payment a month later after making 3 payments and over $300 paid on a $560 bill they still said that I owed $427 when I explained the first time I made my payment that they didn't send me anything they said there was a 10-day grace. Over the due date that you would not get charged when I just talked to a manager he said there is no grace period and he couldnt explain why my first bill was not sent to me until three months later but couldn't take of the fees because it automatically charges on the due date when i asked him where the other $350 i had already paid went he also couldn't tell me! When i made my last payment the bank said my account was paid but it would take 48hrs to post on my account. I asked if that 48hrs would cause a late fee on my account when i paid it on the due date he said yes it would! So when you make a payment on your due date the bank takes 48 hours to put it on to your account in that 48 hours they will charge a late fee so another words you pay for their 48 hour post when you actually paid the payment on time! This is the worst bank I have ever dealt with I will never use them again!

I had to get a Care Credit card because i couldnt affod the test needed to check to see if hi had cancer I was told that i could get a care credit card and it would cover the cost and i could pay it off over time After a year of being in and out of the hospital and having surgery to have organs removed i get a notification that all the money i had payed off to synchrony financial care credit was being added back onto my debt because of some interest promotion i was not informed of Long story short no matter how ill you are and no matter how much you feel like your going to die take your time with companies like this and read all the fine print because even if they act like they want to help you they only want your money and will do anythign they can to make sure they get as much of it as possible.

I would give zero stars to CareCredit if I could. I currently have the card and have charged two doctor's bills (promotional purchases) and one vet bill (nonpromotional purchase) with this card. Since the vet bill was not a promotional purchase so I paid it off right away... or so I thought. When you have more than one purchase on your account, CareCredit takes your payment and applies it ONLY towards the promotional purchases, which aren't charging interest and they allow you to unknowingly pay interest each month on the non promotional period. They do not have it set up where you can allocate a payment towards one specific charge unless you call them directly to do so but it is very rare they answer or do as asked... rare as in nonexistent. It is now July 2018 and I have been calling them since April 2018 to allocate ALL my payments towards the one that is charging interest, even have it in writing where they told me they would, but they still have not. Since charging the vet bill of $190 in Oct 2017, I've made over $1400 in payments and NONE of them have been applied to this bill, which has accumulated as much interest as the original bill. I fully believe this is a scam company and this is their only way of making money. Consumer BEWARE.

I have only just begun to use this service.
Of course, when you are in the chair time is if the essence. So, you do it on the word of a young tart that hardly knows what she is talking about. As of yet, because we only used the service yesterday, I have no issues. However, there is a lot to be said about any company, Vet or Dental office that would be associated with this kind of business.
Read the reviews and you will learn the customer service number HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CREDIT CARD. Yes! They can reset a password for you or something like that. However, YOU CANNOT MAKE ONLINE PAYMENTS. So, why go on line to see you account? It does not matter what you see, there is no one to call when an issue might arise. As a matter of fact they will eventually redirect you back to the Dental office since THEY, not the credit card company sets everything for you pertaining to rate, legnth of payout time etc. So says all the reviews.
I will say to any medical, dental or vet office that is associated with this company with this horrible reputation, you cannot be far from them. I would not allow you to groom my dog.
A word to the wise, if it is not an emergency, get up, walk out and save up the cash. You will find that paying with cash your dental work is half price of what it is when using this credit arrangement. RUN!

I signed up for Carecredit when I needed $4500 for some dental implants. They gave me an option of 12 months same as cash and then 26% interest if not paid in 12 months or a 60 month payment plan at 16% interest. Well obviously I went for the 60 months because I knew I wouldn't be able to pay the whole thing off in less than 12 months. I needed an additional $1700 of credit to get the crowns and they gave me an additional $3000 in credit no problem.
The lesson is READ WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR. If you can't make all of your payments within 12 months and you sign up for 12 months same as cash then expect at the end of that 12 months to be charged the 26% interest you agreed on, there is nothing dishonest about this. If you are illiterate then have someone else read the contract for you.
The safe option here is to sign up for 60 months at 16% interest. Yes it will take longer to pay and you will have to pay interest every month but your payments will be less and your interest will be less. 16% is the average interest you pay on a credit card we when you have okay credit.
My only complaint is that I have excellent credit and I usually only pay 11% - 12% interest but also Carecredit gives me a much larger credit line than the rest of my credit cards.
Read the contract you are agreeing to.

Customer Service is of no use whatsoever. You can't get on the website to find your account without you account number, and you can't get account number unless you have your account number. As soon as i signed up for this to pay for my little dogs vet bill, within a week I got 3 credit alerts and my credit immediately dropped 31pts!. I was told I was over the limit, within the first week of getting the card bc the vet charged the full amount and before a bill was even printed i was Over the Limit and reported to the credit bureau. I tried to call to get my account number so i could pay online, as i wanted to see this account, I was told no, you cant get your account number over the phone... uh they have my FULL SS#, address, phone, DOB and They cant give me my account number. A BUNCH OF BUZZARDS. I am paying these SOBs off and NEVER want to hear this name again! BEWARE! BE VERY AWARE!

I was enrolled in auto-pay and had $30 left to pay on my account. For some reason (not my fault - I had money in the account), the auto-pay did not fire and I did not make the payment. Not only was I assessed TWO late fees (one of 27$ and one of 37$) but I was not contacted until today (the fees were assessed a few days ago and over a month ago). The rep I spoke says company policy is to rescind one late fee per 12 months, which I find to be ridiculous considering that they didn't contact me until I had TWO late fees, so how am I supposed to get both fraudulent fees removed? Additionally, they attempted to squeeze past me removing the SMALLER fee instead of the larger one. I was also told I had to pay my bill in full today or would be assessed INTEREST as well (on my promotional, supposedly no interest purchase), so no chance for me to take this conversation up the ladder. The manager I spoke to gave me a bunk number for corporate when I asked and was quite rude to me, accusing me of just choosing not to make the payment. I made a complaint on their website which I do not expect to be answered. If you can stay away from CareCredit please do so. I will update if they rescind the other late fee.
Tip for consumers:
Check your auto-pay religiously to ensure it executes as planned.

I had a promotional Care Credit line, and on a $5000 loan (supposedly interest free for 18 months) I paid $6000. They took me to court for an additional $2200 in interest ON AN INTEREST FREE LOAN! They won, because I couldnt afford a lawyer. Now theyre garnishing my wages $300 a paycheck on an $800 paycheck. This will be 8 paychecks worth. STAY AWAY FROM CARE CREDIT!

My dog has kidney failure I went to a very good hospital in NJ to care for her. Good but expensive. The day before I acquired a care-credit card, ( I can't even say it, I want to vomit I'm so upset.) They gave me a credit line of $3000, the down payment for the hospital bill was $2700. Very nice, I had the money to pay. With care credit you have 6 months to pay so I took money out of my savings to pay off the balance $ 2700. About 5 hrs later I check my CC account to see if the payment went through and saw that it didn't. So I called CC AND WAITED 38 MINUTES FOR A PERSON TO ANSWER THE PHONE.! I proceeded to ask her why the payment didn't go through and she said it takes 24 hrs. Fine. That was two day ago. Picked up my dog today and the remaining balance on the bill was $1100. When I gave the lady my CC info she said the payment was rejected. The initial payment I made ( in full $ 2700) did not go through yet. Two days later mind you. I called CC and they said the payment I made $2700 WAS SUSPICIOUS. It will take 8 days to investigate. I paid off my balance so I could pay the rest of the bill today and it was SUSPICIOUS. Needless to say after that embarrassing time at the cashiers desk left me seething. I said all this so that someone else doesn't get a watermelon shoved up the u no what if they make a payment like that in good faith.

I had a bet purchase- open this account because I didn't have all the funds at that time. I made a payment and then the next next month the automated system said, "you do not have a payment due" at this time. I then started to get text and calls at all times of the night. I didn't authorize text and calling me 7am in the morning is an unfair credit practice. This company is deceptive, as they bill differently than what is stated to collect more interest. Then they can't explain or make you whole. I escalated my concern and the person wasn't listening, spoke over me- refused to let me speak to another supervisor or escalate beyond him- said his nsme was Zack. YOU REFUSE TO LET ME ESCALATE MY CONCERN PAST YOU?! I will not. E at the mercy of a company that is deceptive and abusicw with practices impacting my cbr- attorney general and BBB escalation on the way. These type of companies must be stopped!
