I I started checking my interest rate I noticed that my interest goes up every month when I called them and talked to them the reason was because I pay my payment on time and pay more than what I should my interest will go up 3 months ago I paid $1,000 so my interest should be going down correct no it's not it is more now than what it was before I paid the $1,000 do not use their card if you do watch what they do and what they charge you.

Care Credit (aka Synchrony Bank formally GE bank) takes your personal information from your provider to try and get you to sign up for one of their high interest credit cards. Stay Away

I never write reviews but I had to share the scam this company is. I over paid a month back- $100 to make sure that I paid off my care credit card and shut my account and I was told I would be credited this money ($100)back! I patiently waited 1 month and in that time- according to care credit " 2 checks" were issued and mailed to me and the explanation marry - THE Account MANAGER gave me was that she was checking incase the "checks issued" was cashed by me? What?!?! When I had not even received the checks(which is why I was on call) and they had been voided by company. I was provided with the most lame excuses you can find! And to top it off I asked if she would transfer me or provide me with someone with a higher authority since she couldn't help me she HUNG UP ON ME! Also, I was on WAIT FOR 40 MINUTES!

My husband and I opened this acct with Care Credit after our cat was taken to our vet for an emergency in June 2018. I called to make a payment and after giving all of the info they requested I was sent to the recovery dept... recovery this is a brand new acct. I argued with them for an hour as they continued to give me the 800 number I called in on. This has happened every month since then. I call they refuse to listen when I ask to please give my acct number, they tell me they have my acct number and send me to the recovery dept. I'm not sure what they're trying to recover since this is a new acct. Obviously the call center is in another country and refuse to transfer me to an individual that speaks and understands fluent english. I fear every month that the payment will post to some fictitious acct sitting in their recovery dept. When I called in to reverify the payment because it hasn't cleared they refused to discuss the acct status because my husband is primary. I've been discussing this acct since June with them... why now refuse to speak with me? I can't get this card paid off fast enough. When I ask why they can't get our acct straight all they do is apologize and tell me my phone number doesn't match what they have on file. Same number we've had for 20 years so lets hear another excuse. This company (Synchrony Bank) needs to get to the bottom of these issues and fix them... obviously for someone elses benefit because once this is paid off I'm done with them.

I've had difficulties logging in from my pc and also my smart phone. Late fees are assessed and there is no grace period whatsoever with this card. What kind of credit card doesn't offer any kind of grace period? Almost every card out there will have a date certain and then late after 10 to 15 days after due date. CareCredit agents are almost all foreign and overseas. They say that you should be grateful because of the no interest period but anyone who has ever been stung by that racket knows all too well that the whole amount and interest comes piling back on you all at once if you miss that date.
In my case, I've had a couple of late fees reversed but this last month I tried to pay using my smart phone. East coast deadline is 12:00am and I'm in mountain zone and began trying to pay well before 10:00pm my time. The payment posted just after 10pm so I got a late fee that is nearly half of what my monthly payment is.
The carecredit card can be helpful but you have to realize that there is hardly any forgiveness and it may end up being a worse deal for you as opposed to using a regular card.
Tip for consumers:
understand that there is no grace period for late payments

They have you do a verification process which is normal. Take your name, address, social. Then they bring you to a third party site and have you take a video of yourself (weird but fine). Then they ask you for a picture of your driver's license. After attempt after attempt, they couldn't match my driver's license picture with my video and they finally locked me out.
I called them up and they said nothing they could do about it, I will receive a letter in the mail in 7-10 business days explaining why I was rejected. (Well apparently it was from their failure to identify me visually) I've never had to visually verify myself ever in my life during a credit application process.
On top of all, head manager, Susan (Employee ID: SJM) was extremely rude and didn't even know how the company process worked.
This is all well and fine but don't run my credit if you're going to have me jump through hoops to be approved only to shut me down because you couldn't visually identify me relative to my state driver's license.

This is a total scam. When you sign up for it they will tell you that if your charges are above a certain amount you will not pay interest for 2 years. The total of my surgery was $5000 and I didn't get the 2 year no interest promo that I was promised! Why? Because The Doctor, the anesthetist and the surgery center are all different providers so each provider will charge you a different amount and you will end up with 3 to 4 different accounts on the same credit card. Each one with a different due date and a different promo. So I end up paying $750 in 6 months, $1200 in one year, $1650 in 48 months at a discounted interest of 16.90% and $1400 in 48 mos at a discounted interest of 16.90%. All with different due dates. If you call to try to understand their very confusing statement which is already charging you interest, even though you were told you wouldn't pay interest for two years on the total amount; you may get a person with a strong accent that is very impatient because you are too "stupid" to understand their wonderful promos! I told her I was promised 0% for two years and her answer was that I had their wonderful promo for two years of 16.90%. I am so freaking mad that I didn't put the total amount on my credit card which offered me 0% for one year! Do not get this credit card!

I got this card for vet visits. HUGE mistake. Everything you read in the other reviews is true. 6 months no interest? LOL!
1) Suppose you make 3 charges in 3 different months. When you make a payment do they apply it to the next expiring promo balance? NO! They apply it to something expiring in a future month. Example: Have a promo balance of $250 due Sept 20. Make a payment of $250 on Sept 14. So, you think your promo will be paid off. BUT, they apply it to a promo not due until November. So, your promo due Sept 20 is NOT paid off within the 6 month period and they charge you 26% interest, back to the original purchase date.
2) Then there's the unexplained promo amount due which is not what you charged. Example: You charge $200. They correctly show the date charged and the amount. BUT, the promo amount due shows $240.? Why the difference? No explanation. AND, if you pay off the $200 original charge within the 6 month promo period, but NOT the unexplained extra $40, they consider the promo balance NOT PAID and charge you interest on the whole thing.
3) Customer Service? PATHETIC! They will email you acknowledgement of your inquiry/complaint. EVENTUALLY they will send another email. It won't make much sense. They won't explain anything. They won't answer any questions.
4) They give you no warning about the above. You need to check your account constantly to see what fancy footwork they have pulled to charge you exorbitant interest.
RUN AWAY FROM SYNCHRONY BANK and CARE CREDIT as fast as you can!

Do not waste your time getting a carecredit care with them. They are LIARS, MISLEADING, SCAMMERS AND JUST PLAIN HORRIBLE of company to ever deal with. If you do a promotion and have interest free for whatever amount of time, DO NOT PAY YOUR BILL ONLINE as convenience. They do not apply any of your payments to the promotion. You actually have to waste your time on the phone to tell some incompetent person to process your payment to the promotion. Although they have you pay online... DO NOT DO IT. I have filed a complaint to the BBB.
TOTALLY DISGUSTED! THEY SUCK AND DESERVE 1 STAR!

I had to use this awful card to pay for 2 medical emergencies in 2015. One was a $1700 procedure for myself, the other was a $1300 vet appointment for our cat. I wasn't able to pay if off within the year time-frame of free interest. Actually at the time the year expired, I was enrolling all of my debt into a credit card consolidation system, so I also added my Care Credit card. The debt clearance program has been amazing, and 3 of my creditors settled out for 1k less than I actually owed. Then comes Care Credit. Their "settlement" amount shows as DOUBLE what I owed in the first place! I've consulted with the consolidation firm to see if this is an error, but after reading all these horrendous reviews, am betting it's real. If so, I plan to remove the 6k debt from my consolidation plan and just let it hit the 7-year mark where unpaid credit cards vanish into oblivion. I refuse to pay double the amount of my original bill. This company is obviously taking massive advantage of those who are in a tough situation. Despicable.

I applied and was approved. I was told wait somewhere around 10 days for my card. (Can't remember the exact amount now) I never received it. I called and was rudely told to wait longer. I ended up cancelling the card not knowing Care Credit reported a lost or stolen card to the credit bureaus, dropping my score 13 points. Of course my old card comes the next day, later than supposed to. But now I can't do anything with it because it's already been cancelled. Now I have to wait for the new one. I called and complained, and it was supposed to be corrected. Never was. Then they reported an account closed and it dropped another 12 points! I called and complained again. They reassured me that I would get my points back once it was reported an account was opened again. I had them dispute this with the credit bureaus and I lost another 6 points due to a "remark added/consumer dispute". If you are like me and closely monitor your credit report because you have worked harder than hell to build your credit; finally recached the 700s, and lost 31 points! Be careful with this one!

Stand clear of this credit company! Our story in the short version was our pup contacted parvo. Looking to do what ever we could do to save his life, we hit a limit do to our wedding, cancelled the honeymoon and opened a credit account with creditcare to make up the balance. While applying at the receptionist desk at the vet ER, creditcare kept ensuring me that it was 6 months interest free with no other information but 6 months interest free. Later after calling them about unexplained interest fees, they explained to me that I "Enrolled" in a card security program. Weird, I was never informed about this... On top of it when I asked them to send me a copy of this enrollment they were "unable to locate/retrieve it" and will send me one as soon as they can. When I had my computer screen up on my account and questioned Paris-(the very condensending representative) about payments on my account she answered them wrong and none of the information she could give me was correct. This company will hold your hand when you're in need and bang you hard after! Go else where, don't fall into our hole.

I had this card for about 11 years until today. I assume I never had a late payment otherwise I would've realized how they go about charging you interest on a late payment and don't ever inform you that payments made dont pay it off and instead you will incur interest on it. I recently realized a difference between my promotional balance and my current balance and upon calling for the second time a representative was able to tell me that the difference was due to a late fee that I had incurred in 2020 and that I was being charged interest on that late fee all along. Now that I am due to pay off my promotional balance I have a remaining balance of 73 which includes the $29 late fee and the rest is in interest. You would think that for being late one time in the 2years that they would work with you and remove the fees charged. Instead, an "account specialist", also considered to be a manager, by the name of Shannon stated that there was nothing that could be done at all. She instead allowed me, an 11 year Customer, to close the account. I find this to be absolutely outrageous.

Don't try to use your rewards for this card by purchasing a flight! After using my rewards to purchase a flight, I needed to make a change. AFTER 4 UN-SUCCESSFUL trys to reach someone that could help me, I tried to make the change through the airline, but I was told that I had to go through Care Credit rewards since I booked through them. Tried 4 more times until I gave up completely and had to cancel my flight altogether because of NOT being able to even talk to someone that could help me. I have been at this since 9:00am this morning until 4:00pm today! During my 8 phone calls to them I was transferred 7 times and was on hold for more than 2 hours before getting disconnected.
Moral of the story, their rewards customer service is a complete JOKE so don't get sucked into getting the card for the rewards!

I have set up a care credit account to pay off dental expenses. My plan was to use a pay flex (HSA) account to pay off the card because I could pay this off tax free. Before signing up, I called to verify that I could do this and there would be no fees or issues.
After signing up, I realized that there was no way to pay online with my debit card. I had to deal with the hassle of calling up every month to make the payments. I dealt with this because I was told that they would waive the fees since there was no way to pay with a debit card.
However, this month I was charged a $10 fee - that would be added to my account. I was told that this fee may accrue interest (at almost 29%) until the card was paid in full. This is a completely sneaky and unfair way to cheat customers and make more money for stockholders.
I was told that the company simply cannot afford to pay customer service reps to process these payments! They charge almost 29% interest and they cannot afford to pay for customer service! I am contacting the CEO and BBB to report them. I will also let everyone know of their predatory behavior.

You all really should be called "NO CARE CREDIT" since you charge 26.99% finance charge if POOR PEOPLE cannot make the promotional deadline... JUST SAYING. You should all be ashamed. I had to pay off someones debt to you all because if they did not make the PROMOTIONAL DEADLINE you wonderful people were going to charge and extra $700.00 plus finance charge. Something to be proud of... yeah.

I signed up for my card under the assumption it was 2 year (higher payment) at no interest. I was given the option and clicked it on the form. Signed contract and made first payment at the rate given. Fast forward and I am being charged monthly interest rate. I finally got to the third manager who again told me it was based on my medical office and if they offered the "Promotion that month". I don't recall ANYTHING saying that it was a promotion... I did the application myself through the website. Never connected to my medical office. They told me I better read the "FINE" print next time and I signed a legal document. This is a scam and so unfortunate. Who would sign up for the highest payment with interest... ESPECIALLY since I hit the NO INTEREST button and was APPROVED! I called the medical office and they said they do offer promotions with Care Credit and would have marked it on my paperwork. I said you had no access to my financial account, I did it personally. I was in tears and so disappointed. They were so rude on top of that offering no help and said only way out is to pay off the loan. I transferred the loan to a no interest card an hour later. I will NEVER use their services again. SCAM SCAM SCAM to people that actually use this for medical expenses and the card companies take full advantage of you.

I applied for Care Credit for an orthodontic procedure that would cost about $3700. I have excellent credit, however I was drawn to the idea of Care Credit because their pamphlet mentioned a promotional period of 0% interest for 12 months. After applying, I was approved for $4600. First of all, I didn't like the idea of being approved for MORE than the cost of the procedure because I felt the doctor could drag out the procedure or find a way to take advantage of the extra money I was approved for. Second, and most importantly, there was NO mention of a promotional period after I was approved. I called Care Credit customer support and was told that the doctor's office would be able to see the promotional rates and periods I was eligible for after they scanned the card. The representative stated she didn't have access to any information regarding the promotional periods. I was very uncomfortable with this response. I called the doctor's office and informed them of the response given to me by Care Credit. The employee at the doctor's office told me that Care Credit is the one that would tell me the promotional rates and periods because they are the ones extending the credit to me. These conflicting responses have led me to decide not to use Care Credit. I'm putting the full amount of the procedure on one of my credit cards. I have several credit cards that offer 0% interest on balance transfers so I'll transfer the balance from the card I'll use to make the payment over to one of these promotional cards with the 0% interest for a year.

Absolutely terrible! The first month a payment was due, I had autopay set up through the Synchrony bank website. First months payment was pulled from my account and I was under the assumption that the payment was made fine. I was surprised to know that the payment was refunded to me and caused me to miss the payment and I was charged a 60$ late fee. I called customer service and asked what the issue was, I received no help and was still charged the late fee. From there, I paid my monthly statement over the phone with my debit card since I no longer trusted the Synchrony bank website. Just to test it again, I attempted to make a monthly payment through the website again, but this time using my checking account instead of my savings account. Again, the money was pulled from my account then refunded. To avoid having another late payment, I called the next day and paid over the phone with my debit card. To my surprise, I received a letter in the mail stating that my account was closed. I called customer service and was on hold for 34 minutes before the call hung up and I tried again. I was then on the hold for another hour and 10 minutes before speaking with the Supervisor, Troy, who shared that due to the money having to be refunded to me, the rules were that my account was closed and could not be reopened. I blatantly shared that there is an issue with the Synchrony bank website. He did not care. Had zero empathy. I am extremely disappointed and will never use this service ever again. Horrible experience.

I called carecredit's customer service line on 9/5/19 to talk about receiving a refund that would be put back in to carecredit account. I was told once I see the account have negative balance (which means money back into my account) to called back and have them refund the money back into debit account. I got the money back into my carecredit account and when I called them to get it put back into my account, they're are now saying I have to wait 5-15 business days to receive a check in the mail. This is absolutely ridiculous. Getting jerked around like this, being told one thing then another. So unprofessional. The account manager Natalie #8092 was very rude, talking over me, cutting me off and wouldn't let me finish speaking. Also tried to tell me there wasn't any record of me calling previous on the date shown above. But then said oh there is a date here about you calling and talking about the account. Well duhhhhhh. The fact that she did that makes me question everything motive they have. DO NOT GET CARECREDIT, complete joke of a company.
