Like one other reviewer said, the complaints about these financial dirt bags is that people don't understand what a "promotion period" is. I got my card a few years back and charged it up to $10K limit with a 12 month promotional period. Paid minimum balance every month. On the 11th month, my calendar popped up with a reminder (the reminder that I set when I made my first charges) telling me to pay the card off that day. I did. Result: I borrowed 10K from these horrible people interest-free for 11 1/2 months! They soon called back and wanted me to get their regular card for 26.99%. I said "thanks, but no thanks." They then agreed to give me ANOTHER promotional card - this time for $7,500. Wonder, wonderful idiots! I will use this card in the exact same manner as the first. People: Learn how to scam the scammers. It makes life a truly beautiful and wonderful experience.

Read these words: DONT. USE. THIS. CARD. UNLESS YOU 1) PLAN ON PAYING THE MINIMUM PAYMENT EVERY MONTH AND 2) PAY THE *ENTIRE AMOUNT* OFF ONE MONTH BEFORE THE TOTAL IS DUE. PERIOD!

Tip for consumers:

Everyone! Be very careful if you got this card. You can do only online payment. In order to do that you have to download the app called "CareCredit". As soon as you open the app, sign in into your account, there will be a system security payment that will automatically connect to your account. They will change a huge % for rest of your payment. Synchrony Bank will send you an email that you could cancel this option during 90 days. There will be link to their website and phone that supposed to help you to call them and cancel the option. But unfortunately it's IMPOSSIBLE! They did everything for you TO NOT CONTACT THEM! So you could still have this program and they could charge money from your account. It is like "legal robbery". You have to call to CareCredit service, contact with a real manager and tell him/her that you would like to cancel this function and that you need their help with this! Whatever they tell you, you know that they are ABLE AND RESPONSIBLE TO DO THAT! THAT IS A LАW! If you canceled the function before 90 days past, THEY MUST TO GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK! THIS IS ALSO A LAW! Good luck and please try not to deal with unclear. ALWAYS CHECK THE INFORMATION BEFORE APPLYING FOR ANYTHING!

I can not wait until I finally have this thing paid off. It would be impossible to tell you everything that has happened with them over the years - but, I will do my best to give a synopsis.
1. Their website - designed to deceive. They have two types of balances - the 1 that is accruing interest, and the other that is interest free for 6 months if your purchase is over $200. When you make a payment, if you want your payment to go to the interest bearing balances, which I do - then you have to call them on the telephone (good luck getting through the automated system), and tell them verbally what you want done; otherwise your payment will go toward the non interest bearing amounts first - so they can continue to rack up interest on your other balances for as long as possible.
2. If you go to the tab for "Promotional Balances," it looks as though they are also showing you the interest bearing balances, but they are not. The amounts that you are seeing are not a summary of ALL interest bearing balances. I found that out the hard way.
3. In trying to get a straight answer about how much was still fully outstanding in interest bearing balances, I was told to check my jprevious statements. Interesting, considering the "activity" tab for your account summary will sometimes show the adjustments to interest bearing and non interest bearing balances. Sometimes.
4. Which brings me to the latest saga - if you want documentation that you've requested your payments to go toward one balance or another, forget it. For a while, I was using "messages" tab to try to get help. I guess they finally got tired of my calling them out on their "inconsistencies" because now they refuse to do anything, stating that they don't do this or that - when they have clearly done this or that in the past.

There's so many things that I could cite - but, the bottom line is that these are people who are deliberately and knowingly screwing other people over - working for these corporate blood suckers who are using them to do their dirty work. We all have to work. I get it - but, don't lie. Apologize - do something, but don't lie to me.

Tip for consumers:
Don't do it.

This card is the worst. Yall are better off applying for a loan or different credit card rather than this one. I applied and made 2 purchases on different years so each had different expiration dates. They set up a monthly minimum fee that won't cover the full bill by when a promotional purchase expires. (That's how they get you). Additionally, the money gets allocated in a way that doesn't make sense which ends up with an account getting more money than the other. For example, my monthly payment was $134 (way high) and my purchase that's expiring by the end of the year was getting 100 and the other that was literally expiring within a month was getting the rest $34. Like what?! I had to find a way to pay $600 dollars by next month because the purchase that was expiring later on in the year was getting all my money. When I called to ask about this the operator told me I had to call to fix payments a certain way every time my bill was due. Okay, so next month I call to put 100 towards my purchase due soon and the rest towards the other one. Statements come and nothing was changed. I call to inquire about the error but instead the manager starts yelling at me that I got the wrong info and basically talking to me like I was dumb. Well it was your mistake to begin with but whatever. So at this point I got over care credit and didn't want to deal with them again. Luckily I'm banking with a great union bank and I got a loan out and paid off care credit and I am now paying off my loan at a way lower monthly rate and no interest! Oh and btw when you call customer service expect to talk to someone overseas that can't come up with no resolution and gets mad when you start questioning things.

I called to retrieve my account number for paperless management. The first representative I spoke to was rude and condescending and lied to me about the abilities of her department. She claimed that her system was down and she was unable to look up my account at all, and then immediately afterward said that she didn't have the authority to look up my account. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she tried to dissuade me by saying that the supervisor would say the same thing. I explained to her that I didn't care and wanted to speak to one anyway. She placed me on a silent hold and then came back and claimed she could not find a supervisor and then continued to repeat the things she'd already said. I repeated my request for a supervisor which she outright fought me on (what CUSTOMER SERVICE representative fights with customers?) and I insisted on still speaking with her supervisor. I reminded her that she is in the business of customer service and that I am the customer and the customer is always right. Eventually she backed down and actually put me on hold (with music this time) and another woman with the exact same voice came on the line, repeated the same things as the "previous" representative, became irate when I accused the "previous" representative of being rude and lying to me, and then hung up on me.

Stay far, FAR away from this company. If they treat customers with $0 balances this poorly, I cannot possibly imagine how they treat customers who carry balances. I still don't have my account number and no access to my account whatsoever. I cannot find my card and truth be told I'm actually afraid to order a new one. I just want the account closed and out of this nightmare that is CareCredit.

VERY high in interest - paid off the card in March 2018 - less than a month they closed the card due to inactivity. Prior to paying it off I was disputing a fee and was waiting for results, i logged in and discolvered today that they just closed the account 3 days ago. The dispute no longer is there and wanted to see progress - POOF GONE. Makes me wonder, their billing cycling now generating, sees a zero balance, a dispute and they decide to close the account. Keep in mind all payments were on time, just wanted to payoff the balance due to the interest so high on the card, I planned on having the card in case of emergency for the dogs, or dentist.

Spoke with a Adam Ross, no customer service skills what so ever. Probably reading from a sheet of paper

I BET IF I HAD A BALANCE YET THE CARD WOULD STILL BE OPEN -

THIS CAN REFLECT ON YOUR CREDIT REPORT THAT THE CARD WAS CLOSED WITH NO EXPLAINATION WHY - IN THE PROCESS FOR A HOME LOAN.

PISS ME OFF - REPORTING THIS CARD TO EVERY WEBSITE POSSIBLE!

Hello All,
I use to think Care Credit/Synchrony Bank was one of the best credit card companies out there. I am writing to let everyone know how incompetent, unprofessional, rude, and outright disrespectful this company is. Since Aug of last year (2022). I have been put on hold for excessively extended periods of countless times w/o being checked on. I have been hung up on, given incorrect information, been harassed by collections and you name it, by Care Credit.

I have been going back and forth with Care Credit on the same issue that is still not resolved to this day (Feb 1,2023). Aug of 2022 I was upgraded to the Care Credit MasterCard, which was an awesome way to show their appreciation for my being a good and loyal customer. They automatically closed the old card and sent me the new card. They did a balance transfer from the old card onto the new card, and I thought everything was fine.

A couple of months later, I started getting collection calls, so I called the customer service (or lack thereof) number. I attempted to find out why that closed card was showing a debt. For 5 months now I have been told that I made a purchase on the old card and I know for a fact I did NOT!

They could never tell me the name of the merchant or any detail of the purchase other than the amount. I have talked to countless reps and managers, having to explain the whole ordeal to each person with multiple transfers for 5 months now.

I have put in several dispute claims. When I would call to follow up with the claim, it was never put in, time and time again. I have recently come to find out that it wasn't a purchase that was made, but a mistake made by one of the incompetent CSRs. This issue has still not been resolved and I am told it will take up to 30 more days for them to respond.

This is absolutely unacceptable and no one seems to care about resolving my issue. One of which could have been resolved or not even happened 5 months ago, if they had competent workers. No one has contacted me to apologize or follow up to let me know what is going on with my case. No one has addressed my many complaints about the multiple reps and managers that I have had to endure for 5 months. They should really be ashamed of themselves!

Tip for consumers:
I DO NOT recommend this company to anyone!

In April of 2018 I signed with CareCredit to help cover the cost of dental work. The cost came to a little over $7,000.00. Supposedly, I was put into a promotional program that waved the interest for 12 months. However, I do not recall signing up for this program.

On October 31,2018 it was stated that if I paid the balance of $1,258.88 for the deferred interest per the Promotional Balance my account would not be charged that amount. However, this promotional program is a scam and should be investigated and shut down! Out of the $7,000.00 owed I have paid $3,632.00 toward that balance and as of today the balance owed is at $7,039.73. (This past June I canceled my card.) I can understand having to pay some interest on this account but nonetheless a portion of these payments should have gone toward the principal to pay down the balance. As it stands today, this account may never be paid off during my lifetime. After seeing CareCredit advertise on FaceBook I became upset and called them to voice my concern. They responded and sent me the contract I signed. However, I did not see the promotion program attached to this contract. I believe they are a fraudulent company, misleading consumers with false advertising. What me upset is that I check my credit report every week to stay on top of my accounts. I saw where I was charged interest on this account which caused me to be over the limit thus affecting my credit scores. I immediately called CareCredit again this morning and was told the promotional program is automatically renewed and even though I canceled my Care Credit Card with them, I'm still charged monthly interest on this account even though it's closed! What other company does this? I have paid my payments on time every month and have never been late! I had no inkling that I signed with CareCredit, a company who scams its consumers. The BBB, and Government agency's need to get involved and shut them down and reimburse every consumer the interest they paid to CareCredit!
