I submitted my resume to dozens of jobs through this website, and although some of the replies I received back were marketing jobs that didn't match my original request, I also received many emails and phone calls for legitimate positions. Within a week I had two interviews every day, and now I'm happily employed. I searched on indeed.com for a month and never received a single reply, so I'm happy this website actually worked.
I kept getting fake job offers I finally called one out as a scam. He threatened me and said he had my address and was coming to my house! Career builder does nothing about it. Remove your resume now!
It took nearly losing 10k to a very sophisticated scam that led me to write this review. Career Builder needs to find a way to verify employers. Now my inbox is full of every bottom-feeding fraudulent employer in India offering me a job. Canceled my account. Good riddance.
This and other sites I have gone to to look for a job sticks applications for schools up in my way, then I start getting tons of phone calls from schools everyday since I went on the site. This and other sites like this won't allow you to go to the next page unless you respond to advertisement from a school. I don't want to do that. If I was interested in going back to school, then I would go to a site for schools.
After I built my profile on the careerbuilder website I immediately starting receiving spam calls from "temp" agencies and travel jobs. I have been getting multiple emails and calls per day for jobs I have not inquired or applied for. Even after closing my account I am still getting spammed. Absolute bs. Do not bother. Use indeed or linkedin
I realize that I'm just the guy in the band who doesn't hook up the mixing board or lights. Which is to say, I'm not the most technologically savvy member of the band, real or metaphorically speaking. That being said, every single time I've tried to "apply directly at the company's site" via careerbuilder.com, it just takes me down another rabbit hole or portal that I never asked to be taken down. Unless the powers-that-be at CareerBuilder are independently wealthy, and have nothing better to do with their time than to waste the time of others, who are genuinely looking for a job, I sincerely hope they read this, and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. -Bruce J. I have never used CareerBuilder as a jobseeker or employer. For the last 6 months my phone number has been spammed by "further your education" telemarketers and employment companies trying to set up "Christina" with an interview or job. Some of the actual employers still sound like scammers. A few of them sounded more serious.
Regardless, I made a complaint to them. More than 3 of the spammers that have called have mentioned "finding her resume on CareerBuilder".
Career builder is a SCAM! I just looked at jobs on their site and now I receive calls and texts almost daily saying they have my resume. I never put my resume or information of this site! When I called and emailed to report it no help was given. Is Careerbuilder selling my information or using my to identify to scam employers to thinking they actually have candidates?! This is atrocious, BBB please hold them accountable and check their books, this is dirty!
By far the worst job-seeking website, they sell your information, and ever since I've signed up for this site hoping to get a new job I've been receiving emails left and right with "recruiters" with grammatical errors and non-existant job offerings. One told me to download an app and "interviews" were going to be conducted by text over the app. And I just received a phone call from another "recruiter" asking for the last 6 digits of my ssn! WTF! Stay far away from this website.
Horrible search parameters - I entered Data Entry Specialist within 10 miles of my home and these were the results: Laboratory Director, Registered Nurse, Regional Director of Finance. How is that helpful to a Data Entry specialist looking for a position. Filters revert back to the default constantly instead of the filters chosen for the search... I despise Indeed but it is still better than this site.
I mean its rediculous. Do they do ANYTHING to attempt to curb the scam activity? Everyday Im inindated with texts and emails telling me to download some video app for an online interview. Then if its a company I recognize I contact them to see if they've ever heard of the person who contacted me. NOPE! And we would never contact a job applicant via text. The site is complete rubbish and it should be shut down! AVOID ALWAYS!

I barely just signed up with Career builder and I start getting people from India calling me, texting me, and I always do my research for companies that are hiring, so I did that, and they are just stupid scammers. I didnt even finish my profile and they were saying Oh I came across your profile and with your expertise I think you are a superb fit for this position! Dude...nah nah nah...shutup.
This whole app promotes scammer people are using real company information just to scan you out of your information if you received a job on and they ask any personal questions like your ssn where you located at or what bank you with. ITS A SCAM
I registered on career buildup on 16th July and cancel the registration. They ask me for wait 15 days to refund and they don't refund the registration amount 1782. 50 Rs. Now 25 day they are asking for wait for 90 days
Resume search worked great for the first 6 months. I'm not sure what happened but now there's a glitch where you can't get past first 20 results even if there's hundreds there. Customer service is rude and almost non-existent. I've been on screenshares to try and solve the problem to no avail. I've asked at this point dozens of times to speak to someone in contract cancellation as the product isn't working and I'm told by client support you have to email contractrenewal for that and they won't talk to anyone on the phone. I've emailed contract renewal now 7 times with no response. If that isn't frustrating enough on my most recent, I believe 14th or 15th, call I was told about the fine print on auto renewal. You can't just email them and tell them the product doesn't work and you want to cancel. There's a very specific way you have to email them to opt out of auto-renewal. It used to be a reputable company but it's trash now.
Tip for consumers:
If you're in recruiting and looking for resumes you should avoid Careerbuilder like it has Covid.

Resume search. That doesn't work anymore and they have other products that aren't as robust. If you're researching you should skip them and use something else.
Don't put your resume and profile information on this site if you don't want a crap load of spam calls/texts/emails. This used to be a great site to look for a job, but now it's just a way to get harrassed by spammers. It's exhausting. As if looking for a job isn't tough enough, now you're being spammed for this too. It's really sad.
I applied for one job on CareerBuilder and within a day have received 4 scan interview requests! Don't use this site if you don't want constant scams to your phone and email!
Once you put your information in, you'll basically be bombarded from recruiters that clearly speak English as a second language for positions that not in your field, not anywhere close to you, and that you're clearly overqualified for. Use Indeed, LinkedIn, and/or Zip Recruiter instead.
Its stupid and annoying that careerbuilder shares your resume with other recruiting companies that fill your inbox with completely irrelevant jobs. Huge waste of time. I stopped using their sustem2 for a while and eventually these emails and calla stopped. However a day after just logging into their site again the emails, txts and calls from shady and irrelevant companies and recruiters syarted again. I am a Network Engineer getting tons of emails and calls to be a entrepreneur, leader, car insurance agent, etc and they all say they found my resume at Career builder. However since i already notice this is a pattern after i log in, i know its not coincidence. I am contacting Careerbuilder and will ask them ro remove my resume and close my account. Enough of this bs.
I did not register for this website. I received an email thanking me for uploading my resume. I did not provide any of this information, nor did I authorise the use of my information. Creating an account in my name using my email and a fake address is COMPLETELY FRAUDULENT. I have requested that my account be removed and expect to be informed when this is done within the 30 day window (which is egregious). I will be negatively rating this site on every possible review site possible. Skimming my LinkedIn for this information and creating and account in my name is akin to identity theft.
I DONT RECCOMEND! I recieve many random emails and text messages from weird posted "jobs". Very minimal info and links to click. Claiming: "you applied for____ on careerbuilder, please kindly click our link below to sign up..." Ever since I signed up here. Over a year and still coming in. Clearly scammers are ABUNDANT here! Disturbing and has made me TOTALLY rethink WHERE i even post my resume or any information on that resume. Ridiculous!

Scammers delight! Don't post your resume or any personal information here.

I had marked "email only" for recruiters to contact, but that didn't matter. I was immediately inundated with spam calls/texts from every fake made up company.
I would not recommend this company to anyone. Communication is a nightmare; results are very poor, program is not user friendly and employees will contradict each other. We signed up with Career Builder 10/19/17 and soon started to see the results were awful. On January 19th I made my first contact regarding our results. Spoke with our rep she told me she didn't know why we were not getting results because we were doing everything right. She made a few suggestion and we mad the adjustments on our end. This happened 3 times, contacted they suggested I made changes and still results didn't change. So I contact one more time but this time no one replied so I did some online research and found 2 managers email addresses VP Sales and Senior Sales Manager. I quickly emailed them with all my contacts previously. By this time we had to sign back up with our previous company or we would never get any employees so now we are paying two companies. This is now April, and we had to come to the realization this company costs us way to much man power. We have to contact them non-stop and hope they reply or have a temporary solution to boost our results. It's time to sever ties well guess what even tho we have not delivered on anything we told you when you signed up you still have to pay 50% of the remaining contract balance. Thank you Career Builder for teaching us a lesson!

DON'T SIGN A CONTRACT!!!
CareerBuilder welcomed me to their site one day. I did not create an account and had not heard of them before. I assumed it was spam and ignored the email. I received a few inquiries from recruiters the next day and emailed the CareerBuilder support team to remove/delete my account immediately as I did not create it.
I did not hear back. I reported every email they sent as spam and filled out their surveys saying that they need to verify accounts better. (at least email verification, this is 2018) One week later and I am getting 3 calls a day about open positions all claiming to have found my information on CareerBuilder.
I decided to go recover my account and delete it myself. Luckily that worked. Apparently I was signed up with my linkedin profile as my resume. It was barely filled out, most of the information wrong. Only my degree, phone number and email were filled out correctly. This leads me to believe that every recruiter that contacted me did not even look at my resume. They are the definition of spam, you should subscribe to every job posting in your area as that would provide much better value than the emails from "recruiters" you get from CareerBuilder.
Ever since I created a profile on Career Builder, I am constantly contacted by Scammers. At least 1 per day if not 2. Are there any real employers using Career Builders?
Out of work and down on my luck. Completed profile and uploaded resume. All I get are scammers texting or emailing me for interviews with companies that ARE NOT hiring.

Job Site
This is the absolute worst website I have ever encountered. One, I didn't realize what exactly posting my resume on here would entail so let me explain. You will get constant phone calls from scammers who lake credibility, as well as constant emails. They caller IDs are from across the US so you never know if someone reputable is calling or not. And if it's career builder, they're not reputable. They sell your information to other businesses which includes your email, phone number, and other personal information. And last but not least, they make it ridiculously hard for you to delete your account. I sent in a request to have my information removed a month ago and still nothing. I called this morning and got hung up on. I called back and they told me they're only doing customer service through email. So to refresh, I'm still getting spam calls and emails out the wazzoo and it is extremely frustrating. Career builder is horrible. I attached a picture of my voicemail which is now FLOODED, so you can see what I am talking about.
Tip for consumers:
It would have been helpful to know that I was setting myself up to be spammed all day.
