Darius from CVS Caremark saved me from going to the hospital by helping me find an approved inhaler after my insurance wouldn't refill it after a year of use without a pre-authorization. It took all week talking to doctors as I got more short of breath. Right before I had to call an ambulance, my husband called CVS Caremark and Darius was so helpful. Instead of a $436 inhaler requiring a lot of paperwork he found Wixela which was covered and only $7. God bless Darius! Please promote him!
This company does not care about patients and their well being. They are there to line there pockets with money and not help when the help is needed. I have sent several Prior Auth to this company and they deny saying they never receive fax and they do because it states successful sent to company! I re submit and when I was away from my desk helping the provider they closed and denied the claim again due to I couldn't speak at that time. Called them back within 15 minutes and they state its closed you have to re submit. I just Opened it this morning! They are the worse at communication they do not care and the people that work for them are rude. I suggest you use another company. Another company.

They do not give consistent answers. They have said they can process scripts and then a few days later they call and say they cannot. Which leaves me in a time crunch to find another place to fill it, get them the new script and get it processed before we run out.
They also estimated the cost of an item at $0.00 then charged me over $360 without notification or permission. When I asked if they could tell me the price of a drug before processing it and charging my card they said they couldn't. Yet, my local pharmacy can.
I pay for my children's medication and my husband pays for his. They added my card to the whole account without telling me and then when I asked them to remove it, they said they could not because I wasn't authorized to make changes to my husband's account. I argued saying it's my card I should be able to prevent them from charging it. I had to escalate this to a supervisor before it was resolved.
I could go on and on. I have literally wasted hours of my life due to their horrible systems.

"CVS Caremark Specialty Pharmacy" DOES NOT CARE AT ALL about one's health. At least three times now I could have DIED FROM CVS. They run out of my life-or-death epilepsy medications and liver transplant immunosuppressant medications. They don't even tell me that they've run out or are running low! CVS sends medications up to 3 days late. CVS sends me somebody else's medication, making me out of my drug for days (and whoever wanted their meds were out of them). They tell me that they want a new prescription when my doctor already sent one twice the previous week. And much more. CVS is NOT TRUSTWORTHY.
What's worse is that I am stuck with CVS for my liver transplant "specialty medication." My insurance denies covering me under any other pharmacy for my "specialty medication," the meds that prevent me from getting liver transplant rejection. I COULD HAVE DIED FROM CVS running late many times.
I have had at least 5 pharmacies ever since 1995. None ever were a problem except CVS. I don't trust CVS Specialty Caremark Pharmacy.
Tip for consumers:
CVS may cause me to die from not sending my medications on time, and/or from the many other issues this company has had. I may die from many bad grand mal seizures and/or liver rejection without my medications.
I recommend one not relying on CVS, especially for life or death medications...unless you have no choice, regarding insurance coverage. Good luck.

This review is a red flag warning to other seniors. I was a member of CVS Prescription Plan for years. I am 71 years old.
I received a premium bill for 29 dollars due on My 1,2024. I paid the bill in full on the morning of May 2,2024. Silverscript disenrolled me from Medicare on May 2. The payment was 11 hours past due.
I went to the Walgreens pharmacy on May 2. Silverscript denied coverage for my medicines including a diabetes drug. I spoke to CVS member services for more than an hour on May 2,
I sent emails and faxed documents to CVS. As of yesterday Sunday May 13, my medicine is still being denied.
Reinstating these benefits would be fast and simple.
According to phone records I spoke with CVS Medicare Part D services on May 2 for an hour and 3 minutes. I sent emails, faxed documents
Being forced to re-enroll instead of simply reinstated sets off massive prior authorizations for expensive medications.
CVS saves a lot of money by disenrolling expensive customers.
This may be legal but corporate greed is the higher law.
My recent experience with CVS Caremark left much to be desired. Despite assurances and promises of expedited service, the fulfillment of my prescription was plagued by delays and misinformation. From conflicting updates regarding the status of my order to unfulfilled promises of expedited delivery, the process was marred by frustration and disappointment.
Despite my repeated attempts to escalate the issue and seek resolution, I was met with a lack of urgency and accountability on the part of CVS Caremark's customer service team. Their failure to deliver on their commitments has left me without vital medication for an extended period, highlighting a concerning disregard for patient welfare.
Overall, my experience with CVS Caremark was deeply unsatisfactory, and I would caution others to exercise caution when relying on their services for timely prescription fulfillment.
This review was based on the calls I made on 2/28: When trying to get a script filled, I called my doctor, cvs help desk (twice) and my pharmacy. I was told by ALL the my medication would be filled 2/29, that there where no issues with it going thru on 2/29. So want to pick them up and the prior auth was not approved. Insurance has confirmed the second prior auth was actually not in the system yet. I'm very frustrated that no on acted with on my issue with anything like urgency. It feels like they were just bored.
CVS Caremark is an absolute joke. Don't even waste your time trying to work with them, because they will NOT be able to get anything done! I've been trying for 3 months to get set up with them, and yet they still can't process my prescriptions. If you don't believe me, look up their 1 Star status online, and see for yourself. If people could leave zero stars, I imagine they wouldn't even be at 1 star!

Unfortunately, our employer requires using Caremark. I have been trying for 3 weeks to register online. I have a confirmation email dated Jan. 1 that the information was sent to CareMark to set up my prescription benefits. Couldn't register. Called helpline - told to contact benefits manager. Everything was set up on employers end. Sent the information again. Still cannot register. Thank goodness for Good Rx - I needed refills and couldn't get them because of Caremark's incompetence. So having Caremark is the same as having no prescription benefits at all.
Tip for consumers:
Beg your employer to stay away from Caremark so you're not forced to deal with them.

None - can't register online due to Caremark's incompetence.
CVS has failed me time and time again. I cannot emphasize enough how frustrating it has been to deal with them (not by choice - they have a monopoly). The issue almost caused me to abort an Ivf Cycle due to inability fulfill medication orders. There is absolutely no accountability or even mechanism to submit a google review. The entire process in dealing with them has been incredibly disheartening during this vulnerable time.
Even after my doctor sent in numerous test results proving that I need the medication she is prescribing (medication that had been covered for 4 years under my previous insurance) they still tried to deny my claim. It wasn't until my doctor told them off for being greedy and corrupt that they finally approved it. Now I got a letter that another piece of my medication cocktail won't be covered. It took years of trial and error to get my condition under control and they're literally willing to let patients risk death to save a buck.
I have had nothing but problems since Aetna decided to use this. I really thought in March we had fixed the problems when my doc gave me 3 month prescriptions. I told this home delivery service to make them auto refills... guess what I just found out... even thou they lied and said ok... they didn't... cause they can't on the 1st order of a new prescription... EVERY NEW PRESCRIPTION has to wait till after the first order to be put on auto refill... BS! Now I have no blood pressure meds for GOD knows how long cause people don't do their jobs! I swear since this stupid corona virus people have gotten so lazy! Very very very unhappy unhealthy client... oh yea... just found out today I have cervical cancer... sure hope I don't need any drugs for that! Shame! Can't depend on nobody but yourself!
Almost every new Rx I get has problems with this company. Customer service is a joke - they don't speak clear english, cannot pronounce medications, do not provide accurate information and even the supervisors like Tyyetta J. Reverse themselves after multiple mistakes in each phone call and message. When you send clear messages asking for information, you get obscure answers that don't address the issue. When they send something different from what you order there is no explanation of why or what your options are to get your Rx. They always blame it on the doctors office but my local staff is excellent and don't lie about their efforts to get me my Rx. I will be switching pharmacies in the next open period.
Tip for consumers:
Get a different pharmacy plan.

Whenever I call them I feel I am transported back to 1985 due to their slow response time and lack of any urgency. They leave you on hold for 15 minutes just to pull up your account. Any minor questions takes at least 20 minutes to come up with an answer. Interacting with them is a full time job. I had to call 5 times today due to errors they kept making. Each time I called I would get a different representative. I was told to request someone in particular but interestingly enough they were incapable of connecting me to her. Disgustingly painful experience. I will do anything in my power to never use them again.
If I could give negative stars I would! Empty promises, hours on the phone to "sort" things out but still never fixed. Diabetic ordering is a nightmare! Money taken out of the account unexpectedly. Local pharmacy never has enough supply takes forever to get it. I absolutely detest dealing with this company.
Have spent over 30 days with weekly calls trying to get medications from Care mark.
Still have not received medications that were requested over a month ago. Representatives conduct themselves nicely on the phone but they must be incompetent because each representative gives a different story/reason why medications have not been sent and promise to send them.
Not a trustworthy outfit I had to select a rating of at least one but feel zero is a better fit.

Or being forced to use. Held hostage via pharmacy's by idiots who lie to me every time I call. God bless ADT for forcing us to use such a $#*!ty company, hope there kick back in all of this is worth the dissatisfaction of there employees.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t use them unless your company forces you to in witch case you have no choice, make sure to follow up with them constantly

They can’t seem to get simple prescriptions correct and don’t bother letting you know until your almost out, that they had issues filling it.
Because of our insurance, we had to choose CVS care mark. This is definitely my worst experience dealing with any pharmacy/industry/professionals! Everytime you call, a different person can give you 100% different answers to the same questions. You are putting on hold forever. And they double charge you! Once I paid Encompass out of pocket for a medicine and got charged by CVS again! It took forever to figure out who made the mistake. A small thing can cost you whole day when you work with them! Very incompetent people! Worst business! I will never want to work with them ever again! Stay away from them if you can!
No one knows what they are doing and when asked for a manager they don't know either. Out of 16 people I spoke to today over a 3 hour period my question was answered by 1 person who knew what they were doing but it took 3 hours to find that one person. This is a disgrace and there is no accountability for any of these representatives. Just hire 10 year olds to answer the questions. This company is a joke and I could run it better in my sleep. How about design a better website with forms people need to fill out and we can service our own accounts.
I've several times gone through the process of identifying a prescription drug and my doctor, placing an order, and signing up for automatic refills. I received a "Thank you for your order" email, and then... nothing. No further emails, and the website shows no orders pending, no orders in history, and no prescriptions drugs associated with my account — as if it never happened. I don't know if the problem is with the website or with CVS's processing. Maybe it's a business strategy: Offer employers the opportunity to provide a prescription benefit to their employees at low cost — which CVS can provide because they never incur the cost of actually delivering any prescriptions!
Tip for consumers:
Simply don't. You're probably wasting your time. Spend your time getting you employer to drop CVS Caremark as the prescription drug plan provider.
Tried to review a medicine under Medicare part d. The Filipino lady was hard to understand. After stressing the life out of myself i got a verification number for my renewal. But the lady kept speaking unintelligibly. I was severely stressed out and just set the phone down. I have no idea why she kept talking but did not know what to about it. I never thought this could happen but she cancelled my refill. I absolutely could not refill it. And was left to twist in the wind. I want to leave this horrible company. Not sure how

Let say I've been dealing with this prescription denial crap for several years to the point that I now feel it's personal. My life depends on having the proper inhaler, I've been hospitalized 2 times and I want a Lawyer. No company has that to take away meds
It's all been said before, their systems are so complex and difficult to use, I would never recommend CVS...what a waste, because, no doubt, there are good people employed here and they want to to a good job. Also, CVS can't deliver real value to shareholders, look at the 5 yr stock price and news...and legal wranglings...what a mess. Managed health care, said no one ever,
I have to use their mail order for my supplemental insurance plan or wouldn't be using them at all! Their reps quoted me one price on a brand name med I need for a 90 day supply then billed my credit card for 90 dollars more for a one month supply. When management confronted said "no the rep told you the price was a guess as to what it would be, but that was not she told me over the phone. I'm an RN have been working with insurance companies and prescriptions for yrs…their customer service people need a review course on what they're telling their customers who are folks on a fixed budget, no guesses on what it will be!

The phone number asked you to speak your needs. It didn't acknowledge what I said. Once I finally got ahold of a person, I was transferred 4 different times to "someone that can help." One of these transfers took me to someone that was nearly impossible to understand due to the poor phone connection. Each transfer involved a 2-3 minute wait time. The question I had, was "Has my medication been shipped." After more than 27 minutes, I still did not have an answer. Ultimately, I was transferred back to the beginning, where they had started all of the transfers. Nobody could answer the question, nor did they try... it was just a game of "pass the buck." Eventually, I hung up without an answer.
Tip for consumers:
Find someplace different. This company is not interested in actually hearing from the consumer. Even the web site has no way to submit concerns. You have to snail mail corporate.
