Darius from CVS Caremark saved me from going to the hospital by helping me find an approved inhaler after my insurance wouldn't refill it after a year of use without a pre-authorization. It took all week talking to doctors as I got more short of breath. Right before I had to call an ambulance, my husband called CVS Caremark and Darius was so helpful. Instead of a $436 inhaler requiring a lot of paperwork he found Wixela which was covered and only $7. God bless Darius! Please promote him!
This company does not care about patients and their well being. They are there to line there pockets with money and not help when the help is needed. I have sent several Prior Auth to this company and they deny saying they never receive fax and they do because it states successful sent to company! I re submit and when I was away from my desk helping the provider they closed and denied the claim again due to I couldn't speak at that time. Called them back within 15 minutes and they state its closed you have to re submit. I just Opened it this morning! They are the worse at communication they do not care and the people that work for them are rude. I suggest you use another company. Another company.
This is the most horrible company for customer service. They are rude and unhelpful. They expect you to pay for orders that you don't receive even if they shipped to an incorrect address. Be warned they will charge you for orders not received. Take your credit card info off of their records. Normally a company will tell you that they are going to charge you for something when you are on the phone with them. Nope, then had the audacity to say, you wanted a refill you got it. I hate hate hate this company.
Tip for consumers:
Take your credit card info off of their system as soon as you pay for your order. They are rude and don't care about charging you for something you didn't receive.

I ended up paying for a shipment I never received and they know it was shipped to an incorrect address!!
In Sept. 2019 the Marketplace stopped my tax credit by mistake. During the next 2 months my husband and I were trying to get it back. We had to pay over $1000 for my insurance for that month and a half and then another $108 for medication. We were reimbursed from the insurance company and they said we had to go through CVS Caremark to be reimbursed for the meds. Filled out the form and sent in all the required information. Just received a letter with the decision of being denied. My husband called to see why it was denied. They said that the prescriptions were filled too early(6 days) and that was the final decision. Since when has Publix Pharmacy every filled a script early? NEVER! My husband is on disability and I just started SS, so $108 is a lot. If your insurance uses CVS caremark I recommend switching insurance companies the next opportunity you get..
My first time using this pharmacy, Britney R was so helpful, kind, patient and was able to answer all my questions! Her tone of voice was calming and she was so nice i asked her for her name to write this review! A lot of customer service agents aren't kind or understanding. So it was very refreshing to have Britney be the one to pick up the phone! Thank you, will definitely use Caremark specialty pharmacy in the future!

I have never had so many issues getting a prescription refilled. They suddenly will reject a medication with zero notice. When you call them, they give you the run around just to tell you it has to be done through mail order. It's cruel and unusual to tell an asthmatic they cannot have their inhaler to BREATHE by rejecting the refill when they're out of medication. CRIMINAL!
I have contacted this pharmacy many times and each time I spent more than 40 minutes and without getting satisfactory response. They are holding my medicine while Aetna and Medicare are charging me more than $700 a month deducted from my SS. I am using 11 medicine in the morning and 10 at night including 4 blood pressure ones. This morning one of the representative kept me on the phone fore more than 40 minutes and finally I disconnected the phone. This is what is happening with this pharmacy and that is why I am totally dissatisfied.
The insurance company just switched us to CVS Alliance for the "specialty pharmacy" area. Wow, they take incompetence to a new level. I have been calling 5x a day and every time I call it's some new problem. We did the prior authorization last week but suddenly I get a text that we need the prior authorization. Then they are holding up critical meds because of questions about non-critical supplies. It was held up one day because someone on their end made a typo causing a new round of authorizations. I will say: the folks on the phone are super nice. But something is very very very very wrong! Very wrong!
Tip for consumers:
Call, call, call, call, call, call and call again. This is not a company you can trust to figure it out.

Haven't received anything yet but this is for prescription medications
This company has so many layers that one group does not know what the other group is doing. The online message service is all cut and paste and then telephoning customer service is a disgrace -how many times can one person explain the same issue?
Tip for consumers:
No one works together --you get one person who says one thing then online another response --then the computer sends an automatic email that is out of sync from what you just worked on.
Caremark repeatedly called me, despite my cell # being marked as ok for text messages only. I had to remove my phone # entirely to make it stop. Their service is sometimes super fast (3-4 days from order to delivery) and sometimes super slow (14+ days, 10+ business days), making it hard to ensure I have a consistent supply of my medications. They make it difficult to update your medication list, which resulted in them harassing one of my doctors for weeks for a medication I was no longer taking. If the alternative wasn't multiple trips to the pharmacy every month I would have quit using them long before now.
It was always a headache talking to them and refilling my medication but things have gotten 10x worse this past year. People aren't trained properly and can't find solution to basic problems. I always ask to talk to a manager. They can sometimes help me. But it means being on the phone for 30-45 minutes now. It's just a headache and it sucks. They need to improve things. We all pay so much for coverage! Unacceptable.
If my company did not have us locked into CVS I would be getting my medication else where. Not one person has a clue what's going on there this includes Billing and Customer Service. Avoid this company if you can. Going to my HR see if I can opt out in anyway.

My wife and I have medicare part D with this company. They are awful to deal with. The drugs we use are on their formulary, but they put you through hell to get them filled. They say that they require pre-approval. I have had other part D plans with different companies in the past and have never had this much difficulty in dealing with a company. I will not renew with them next year and would NOT recommend them to anyone. THEY ARE AWFUL!
CVS Caremark is so aggressive. About 6 weeks before I need to renew my medications, they will send me a flurry of text messages, several a day. It is so intrusive. And then if that weren't bad enough, they start sending letters. So obnoxious!
I have an underlying health condition and for the past months I've been getting my prescription medication at CVS Specialty. My job closed down and affected my health insurance which naturally CVS Specialty won't ship my medication eventhough I already told them my situation and that I'm already delayed in my medication. They just keep on insisting on the information for the health insurance. It is also very annoying to call them coz it's just a merry-go-round and they don't seem to communicate among themselves. CVS Specialty is putting a lot of patients lives at risk by delaying the medication due to health insurance issues. They should understand that there's a pandemic and a lot of people have lost jobs and health insurance. They should be considerate and they keep leaving messages and if they can be of further assistance which is b. S. I will not recommend CVS Specialty to anyone.
I was told it was $65 for a 3 month supply and was mailed a 30 day supply. Then told when I called about it I was told to bad. Call your Dr and get free samples, we don't give refunds. This has been a nightmare. It's a breathing medication. They are rude and told me different story's every time I called and tried to get it worked out.
Companies by these packages from CVS Caremark because the packages are cheap for the company. But they do not cover anything. Avoid employers that offer this coverage unless you and your family don't have any medical needs, and you can predict the future that you will never be hospitalized, or have any illnesses whatsoever. They have exorbitant deductibles and premiums and only cover chronic medications such as insulin at exorbitant prices. They will not pay anything towards your medication until you spend $5000 deductible, then they will pay for a vial of insulin/medication. If you have $5000 dollars to spend on medication, then why would you need insurance in the first place. Please take heed. If your prospective employer uses CVS/Caremark, do not take a position with this company. You have been warned.
The website is terrible and I could not view my current and past prescriptions (it shows zero). The customer service is terrible. The customer representative was rude and could not tell whether a pre-authorization request was sent to the doctor's office as I talked to another representative 2 days earlier. My prescription (which I have used for years) now has been stuck for about 2 weeks now.
They shipped an order that was cancelled and did not give me an opportunity to refuse the order from being delivered by the post office. They also refuse to provide a refund for medication I can not use and have to dispose.
One month and absolutely no progress on my order. I call every day to check progress. Every day I talk to a different person. Every time I call the medication in my record is wrong. I ask them to change it. Next day, same thing. On hold forever every time I call. My doctor has provided the prescription several times and still the wrong med. Then drug company sent information to them. They claim they never received it. And on and on it goes. One star is too high a rating. Avoid this company at all costs.
I have a prescription that I need prior authorization to be filled. My doctors office has called four times to try and get it approved and it is still denied. No communication to me from CVS at all. It is become a part-time job to just call and try to get everything managed appropriately.
Tiffany with CVS Caremark helped me with all of my needs she was so caring and listened to every bit of what I needed before helping me. Tiffany even helped beyond what was asked. If everyone in customer service at all companies could respond in this manner everyone would be as happy as I am! Thanks so very much Tiffany!

Cvs Caremark Insurance
This is the worst company I've ever dealt with and I have been dealing with them for over 10 years now. I have two specialists and one general practitioner who have conferred on my medical and decided I needed Dupixent And Caremark has some underwriter sitting there checking off boxes and telling me the prior authorization has been denied this is the second time I've been waiting over a month for life-saving prescription. The worst! Note you have to put at least one star because believe me I would give none.
My daughter is on humira injections biweekly for rheumatoid arthritis and she has gone for a whole month twice in 6 months now without getting her prescription filled timely despite her requests for a refill. They have canceled her delivery without notification and there are always delays in delivery. If her insurance didn't require her to use them, she definitely would not.

Caremark mail order service is pathetic. They allows me to run out of Crohn's meds, twice, the last time for ten days. It is impossible to speak with a human and took an act of Congress to opt out of their services. I wouldn't use them again and I certainly would never recommend them.
Service is terrible. The system that Blue Cross Blue shield had before Caremark went like clockwork. I can't remember one problem. Since they went to Caremark getting perscriptions is a constant battle. I have several friends that share my feelings about them. Our doctors really have trouble with Caremark too.
I have to take heart medicine and medication for high blood pressure. Every time I request a refill, it shows up canceled on their website. They say they tried contacting my doctor 3 times to get authorization but they never hear back from my doctor. Once I was at the doctor's office while they faxed the authorization and Caremark still said they didn't get it. Horrible!
