“Thank you Darius from Caremark”

Karla F.
2/6/24

Darius from CVS Caremark saved me from going to the hospital by helping me find an approved inhaler after my insurance wouldn't refill it after a year of use without a pre-authorization. It took all week talking to doctors as I got more short of breath. Right before I had to call an ambulance, my husband called CVS Caremark and Darius was so helpful. Instead of a $436 inhaler requiring a lot of paperwork he found Wixela which was covered and only $7. God bless Darius! Please promote him!

“This company is the worse!”

michelle r.
11/7/24

This company does not care about patients and their well being. They are there to line there pockets with money and not help when the help is needed. I have sent several Prior Auth to this company and they deny saying they never receive fax and they do because it states successful sent to company! I re submit and when I was away from my desk helping the provider they closed and denied the claim again due to I couldn't speak at that time. Called them back within 15 minutes and they state its closed you have to re submit. I just Opened it this morning! They are the worse at communication they do not care and the people that work for them are rude. I suggest you use another company. Another company.

I would give them zero stars if I could. The customer service is HORRIBLE! I have ran out of my prescriptions twice with them both times trying to blame my provider for it when was indeed CVS Caremark's fault not my provider! There is continuously a problem with them and no resolution only excuses and the same problem over and over! Representatives"disconnect" you after being on hold for 30 plus minutes so then you have to call and start over! Soooo frustrating and unprofessional! DO NOT RECOMMEND!

They give no regard for the quality of life. I am overweight and have lack of energy and all...but I am also 50...but my quality of life does not matter so we will reject everything the doctor puts in for. If I would have known this I would have changed insurance companies during open season...BUNCH OF BLOODSUCKERS

Wonder how many people in the State of Louisiana Legislature have diabetes and are being told by their pharmacist (Big Pharma) CVS that Caremark wants their patients to start pricking their fingers again? This is the most disgusting pharmacy company that I have ever been affiliated with. I am a 35 year retired teacher. Thanks to our Legislature and the back hand deal that Jim Donelon got, Louisiana state retirees are stuck with this bxxx shxx company for the next 3 years. Not one of them bothered to look at all of the complaints that are on the internet or the lawsuits that this company already has against them.

Tip for consumers:
Caremark has made me go to the hospital because they would not give me my acid reflux/gastritis or sleep medications. I'd like to know who the people at Caremark are that are taking the place of my doctor.

Caremark.com is absolutely WORTHLESS repeat WORTHLESS! I even agreed to pay their overpriced express shipping charge of $23.00 to have this HBP med delivered soonest. Two (REPEAT TWO) of their reps told me I would have it Saturday, 17 June 2023. 6:30 PM 17 June, it hasn't even left their facility. They are a sad excuse for a pharmacy that cares about its patients! Sad. No wonder most of their reviews are so poor!

Unfortunately when your insurance company dictates that you must utilize this specialty pharmacy for your MS medication, you don't have a choice to choose anyone different. They don't have to be nice, efficient or even accurate for that matter. I was denied medication I needed all the while the tried to send me medication approved by a doctor that wasn't mine for a condition I don't have! UNBELIEVABLE! They shouldn't even be in business!

My wife was prescribed Stalera after having bowel resection surgery due to Crohns disease that was forcing her intestines to narrow and close. This was denied saying Humera was required first. Upon submitting the request for Humera it was denied. We were told all that was needed was an appeal with information from the doctor. Needless to say after doing that she was denied saying that she din't meet the qualifications that the doctor stated full well in his review that she had met. Now we have to do an emergency appeal. Crappiest insurance I have ever had. When it comes time to renew we will be going elsewhere. I would reccomend that if you have other choices even if it costs a little more I would choose a different company. I have worked for insurance companies in the past. They just want to make their millions and screw over the little guy.

The CVA Caremark online order system quoted an estimated cost for my prescription as $0.00 and asked me to agree and submit my order. I did so and have a screen shot of the order. The prescription was delivered in the mail and inside was a receipt for $368.55 for the order that was estimated at $0.00. I have never opened the medicine and have tried for 2 months to return it for my money back. I have talked to 17 people at CVA Caremark and everyone says they understand but there is nothing they can do. CVS Caremark cannot even spell the words customer focus, let alone practice it. BTW, I filled the prescription with GoodRX for $31.00. ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE PROVIDER EVER!

So I made an online order on 8/20 for my blood thinner shots, then I called a week later realizing you stated it was not sending until 9/5 and I would be out before then. The lady on the phone assured me it would be to my house before 9/5. I then realized she lied to me later on. I called again, they assured me the RX would be sent out by 9/5 and I could go to my local pharmacy to get emergency shots if need be. My local pharmacy only had 3 shots in stock. I said that was fine because I was promised I would get my rx on time. I get a call today, 9/7 that they can't verify my address. I have received these before in the mail. It is now too late to overnight, too late to get my local pharmacy to do anything. I will be out of blood thinner shots while pregnant for the weekend. I got a blood clot my last pregnancy. You are killing people by lying to your customers over and over again just so you all can get off the phone with them. YOU ARE KILLING PEOPLE. The next closest pharmacy is 2 hours away from me.

I have dealt with several specialty pharmacies over the years. They are all difficult to deal with but CVS is the absolute worst! Communication through their automated system is terrible, I get refill notices before the med can be refilled, told that it is on hold when it isn't, only gets shipped about 50% of the time. If a shipment is missed then I have to start the order over from scratch but they don't tell you when the package doesn't make the truck. You have to watch order status on the website like a hawk in order to know... or the med just never shows up and they act like you are at fault because they didn't get the package on the truck. I spent 3 hours today dealing with messages saying that my order was cancelled due to a copay assist denial only to find out that it is scheduled to be shipped tomorrow. I then asked to speak with a supervisor to try and correct some of the issues I have been having and was placed on hold for 20 mins before I gave up because I had to get back to work. If you are an employer looking at prescription plans, please do your employees a favor and go with someone else. I will also be talking with my corporate insurance department and letting them know that CVS totally sucks.

The Caremark site is AWFUL. Who designed this? Any time I've changed employment in the last TEN YEARS I've had to create a NEW, separate account. Can't merge, or update information under the current account. I had to call for them to merge it, under a completely different user name, and here I am again, about a week of meds left, jumping through these RIDICULOUS hoops because of their poor technology. Infuriating.

Attention employers: Use a more user-friendly company for your employees prescriptions! It is 100% ridiculous that CVS Caremark requires me to "opt out" of mail-order prescriptions for maintenance medications. If mail order was the most convenient for most, people would be more than willing to call and opt in. Instead, I have to call their automated system all the time because I try to fill a prescription and the pharmacy says I have to call insurance because they can't fill it. The automated system never understands my member number no matter how well I enunciate. The human I finally speak to has trouble understanding how to spell my very common last name and the entire process makes going without the medication seem appealing, though it would cause physical pain. All this because my small city doesn't have a CVS Pharmacy. I'm sorry, I can't use a CVS pharmacy because we don't have one within 50 miles of my home. That doesn't mean all of us should have to deal with calling every other month to opt out of mail orders. I will be encouraging my employer to use a different company in the future.

I have been on a medication for 5 years that CVS Caremark refuses to fill unless I try two other similar medications first. I have already been on the "other" meds they want me to take, but they seem to have no record of these medications or when I took them. How convenient and unprofessional. Just another lie. Brian( a rep of theirs) has lied to me even blaming my husbands employer for the RX not being filled. I had been given a fake phone number to the Prior Authorization Department by Brian. He told me to call that number to get help with the RX. He also said he would call my doctors office for help. Never happened. He lied again. This number is just another generic number used to contact a basic representative, and not the Prior Authorization Dept. My husband is going to his HR Dept to let them know Brian threw his employer under the bus 2 times. My husband works at a hospital with over 20 thousand employees. One would think CVS would hire more reputable representation knowing the money they could lose if this hospital continues to have complaints like this. I have had this happen with other medications and have had to deal with health problems because of CVS Caremark
Bad company, lousy representation, and full of lies.
If you have a better choice, don't use CVS Caremark.
I would have given a zero rating, but it is not an option.

I cannot believe that this place is still in business. If this was a medication I needed for life I would be DEAD! That can't tell me why someone would write a prior auth for a prescription they don't have and then not get the prescription you sent PA for. How dumb is that? No one can answe my question I work in the PA department make it make sense. I still don't have my medicine and my appointment is tomorrow. By far the worst customer service managers say they will call you back in 48 house and I'm still waiting for a return call. The laziness group of people I've ever come across. I'm doing all the work so where is my check? My doctor has done and jump through hope and still is getting the run around and no one to say the same thing. I've wasted hours on the phone and they still don't have thing together. What a job of a pharmacy. I worked for a home delivery pharmacy and oh hell no head would've roll for the dumb things CVS is doing. And to top it off I'm stuck with all of this stupidity and unable to get things done. How do I trust or think y'all are going to get my medicine on time moving forward. I have no faith in a company that can't do right nor does management. So why think a rep would do it right when leadership is horrible. We are as strong as your weakest link and the manager or Executives as they call themselves. Still waiting

IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE, DO NOT USE CAREMARK! I don't have a choice because it's my company's insurance but it is the worst. I've had experience with many other insurance companies after working for 30+ years and Caremark is useless. I have a compound prescription that I've never had an issue getting covered with 2 different insurance companies but I've been getting the run around from Caremark. I, as well as the compound pharmacy and my doctor have spent way too much time trying to find out if my prescription is covered. I thought I finally talked to someone at Caremark customer service who knew what they were talking about who said they would send me a form but I never received it despite me asking them again. Even with non-compounded prescriptions I've had issues.

I spent a half hour on hold and a half our with a rep trying to find out why some scripts do not appear on their website even though I received them with the wrong # of pills and others appear to be filled for 0 pills for 0 days! The rep was rude and clearly had no idea how anything worked telling me my Dr didn't send it in yet even though I received some and the others were on the website.

I eventually got frustrated and asked to speak to a supervisor. After waiting another 10 minutes on hold I was transferred to "prior auth" where I waited another 10 minutes before a recording told me my call couldn't be completed and to call back later!

I called back and waited another half hour to speak to a much nicer rep who could see all my scripts but couldn't answer my questions. She offered to go speak to her supervisor and let me know what's the deal. After another 10 minute wait her supervisor had no idea either.

This is really bad service and I don't even know if I could refill medications that have 8 refills per the label on the bottle I received because the rx is not in their system.

I will be using my local pharmacy. At least they know what's going on and resolve problems directly with the Dr instead of keeping me on the phone for 2 hours

I would give CVS Caremark 0 Stars if allowed. Unfortunately, my company switched insurance companies and I had no choice but to use CVS Caremark for a pricey prescription. My issue is that the company processed a payment of $230 from my debit card on Jan 17th, when I removed this as a form of payment and replaced it with my FSA account. Numerous calls to CVS Caremark and speaking to their Senior Account Resolution team and my funds are not back in my checking account a week later.
I asked for an explanation from the numerous representatives and supervisors that I spoke to, and not one could give me an answer. I was advised this matter would be resolved and my funds would be back in my account in 1 business day, and that did not happen. If this happened to me, then I can assure you it has happened to other customers. I will no longer be using CVS Caremark and have transferred all of my prescriptions to another pharmacy (albeit it will be more expensive), but I refuse to give CVS Caremark anymore.

If you use a debit card, they charge you more than twice the amount (an authorization) and it stays out of your account for a week. If your bill is 50, be prepared to be out at least 100

I had Homescripts before stupid BCBS changed home service provider to Carelessmark... my med s have gone from $70 co pay Victoza 90 day supply to $250! They are totally incompetent and don't know their left from their right! Homescripts gave me a bin number, an Id number and two more codes so Caremark can apply it to the victoza co pay and they refused, they just won't do it and don't care! U send them emails asking for yellow and they answer with red, u send them emails asking for brown and they answer with blue! Always in a different page than u, alwsys. What a bad horrible experience it's been... Caremark should not be allowed to do this " service " Period

My mom was a CVS Caremark customer in 2022(not by choice, dictated by insurance) She received her final delivery 12/27/22 owing $105. I was taking over financials for my mom and called to make pmt- no longer being a customer it took great effort to actually get to a person to do this. Made pmt, it immediately showed up as a charge in my banking alerts. Had tech difficulties so couldn't get a receipt emailed at that time. Told would get in 3 days. Never showed but got a bill stating she now owed $210. No new meds were sent, but they claim they refunded $105. Called in April explained everything and it was concluded that their error charged then refunded $105 cancelling each other. I again made a $105 pmt fit receipt and thought matter was done only to get a collection notification in June. Called again thought was resolved, assured me collections action would end. Collection notice arrived again sept. Called AGAIN this time I'm told I have to show proof I pd and did not in fact get a refund - when I completely took over my moms financials accounts were changed. It's absurd to think they'd just refund money without first charging. The product she received has been pd they need to stop. Never will I use them or recommend them. It's a shame ppl get forced to use a co with such poor service- will also note the non mail order was always out of meds causing delays in treatment.

Once it took me close to two months to get my Levothyroxine medication. CVS/Caremark insisted that it had to be preauthorized, which it did NOT because it is a generic form of medication. It is ridiculous that they do NOT know what they are doing over there!
