Darius from CVS Caremark saved me from going to the hospital by helping me find an approved inhaler after my insurance wouldn't refill it after a year of use without a pre-authorization. It took all week talking to doctors as I got more short of breath. Right before I had to call an ambulance, my husband called CVS Caremark and Darius was so helpful. Instead of a $436 inhaler requiring a lot of paperwork he found Wixela which was covered and only $7. God bless Darius! Please promote him!

This company does not care about patients and their well being. They are there to line there pockets with money and not help when the help is needed. I have sent several Prior Auth to this company and they deny saying they never receive fax and they do because it states successful sent to company! I re submit and when I was away from my desk helping the provider they closed and denied the claim again due to I couldn't speak at that time. Called them back within 15 minutes and they state its closed you have to re submit. I just Opened it this morning! They are the worse at communication they do not care and the people that work for them are rude. I suggest you use another company. Another company.

If I could give them a negative review I would. Without fail each time a prescription was sent in they required additional information from my physician. Which delayed my prescription. Their customer service to deal with these issues is non-existent. These issues never got resolved. I switched to Amazon online pharmacy delivery. It has been a hassle free experience.

CVS Caremark is one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with! Local CVS pharmacies cannot cross-talk with the mail order drug company. Insurance premiums through them are excessive. Service is poor.
Wait times to talk to an agent are excessive. Moreover, you're apt to get transferred between their various divisions none of which are interconnected. Whatever you do - stay away from this company!

I suggest every dissatisfied individual call or write all of the Corporate Executives and Board of Directors before someone loses a loved one due to their negligence! Every time I call I end up with someone with a heavy accent that you can barely understand! They give you the run around over and over, I think they are hoping you will hang up. On the phone over an hour and they still wont do what I ask. They keep saying something else! So fed up with this company! Unfortunate that Medicare thinks this company is good for our seniors!

I thought it would be easy, switching from one pharmacy to another. It has been a nightmare! The people can not help you, they always put you on with your plan. However, that is incorrect. I found only a supervisor has any clue what they were doing... at lest that is what i thought, until they did something so wrong it cost me money. Every supervisor I spoke to, said it was just a matter of time, it will work out. No, it got worst. Whatever is wrong with your pharmacy, and you are thinking of switching. Don't.

Forced by my company's health insurance to switch from express script. CVS is the worst. Never on time and if they can't get hold of Dr to renew Rx they just drop it. Haven't taken some medication in weeks due to this issue and trying to switch back to brick and mortar is impossible.

Tried to get last two refills on my rx and they wanted a letter from my doctor. Why would I get a letter when she wrote the rx. My dr is no longer with the practice and moved into an other area of medicine. They will only cover 90 day and say my medicine is a specialty medicine. I've been on the same medication for over 20 years and it's generic. I called my HR and will be sending an email tomorrow.

If will pay through good rx. Who are they to second guess doctor's with what they prescribe. Read all reviews. They are horrible. They want to kill you to same themselves money

Will not allow a lot of the prescriptions that your doctor prescribes. They fight tooth and nail so they do not have to fill the prescription. Very helpful at telling you oh well. Not their problem. If you are looking at this company. Look elsewhere. Save the head ache. They suck.

Have a beer. Look for another pharmacy provider.

My husband is other mail order plan. They are refusing to send him his BP medicine, so now I'm having to share mine with him. The customer service is a joke. They don't have a clue. The most incompetent plan. I can't imagine the sickness and deaths They are responsible for due to their incompetence. I have filed a complaint with Medicare against them, but I have doubts that they will take care of it. They have no business offering this sorry, disgusting plan to Seniors and should be held accountable. I hate this plan. In my book, they are incompetent murderers and should be out of business yesterday

They never do refills on time when I call they never can find my account then they are confused because I have a primary insurance and Medicare is my secondary. They say it's my fault that I have issues because I have two insurances and I have two accounts with them. It's been going on for over 4 years and still can never get it fixed. The account I see online is not the one they see. I'm out of meds at the 90 day supply and they say it can't be refilled for another 18 days but that means I will have no meds for weeks and even when they do start the refill it will take another 3 to 5 business days to ship.

Tip for consumers:
Use a local pharmacy and stay away from CAREMARK if possible

They've sent half my prescription to the wrong address and called me a liar and charged me for it. They didn't send my updated medication when the doctor upped my script. I'd rather pay out of pocket than be forced to use them.

Call over using the app and don't give them you information to keep on file

This company cares nothing about the patient's quality of life. My doctor and I have been trying to get prior authorization for my medication since early January. We have complied with their every request (mostly trying cheaper medications) and have been denied four times. I have been having to pay $1,342 (thank God for Good RX!) per month for my medically necessary medication. I used Express Scripts previously and had no problem with getting my prior authorization approved. I have been using this med since 2006.

Tip for consumers:
Avoid CVS/Caremark prescription coverage if at all possible. CVS/Caremark lacks ethics and compassion! They should be shut down.

Mistakes on EVERY prescription. Decided to stop getting mail order because of that. It was always something that would take multiple phone calls to get right and then I would still get something sent to me that I wasn't supposed to get. It's as if yesterday was their first day of being in business and no one knows what's going on. Regrettably, I used them recently only because a prescription was substantially cheaper if I got it by mail. Seven phone calls and emails later they still can't guarantee it's going to be sent to me let alone sent correctly. Called my local small town pharmacy. They filled it in just a few minutes. I don't know what is going on at this place, but I'm shocked they are still in business. Absolutely no communication between departments or even in the same department. It's not worth the $180 I'm saving. Don't deal with this company if at all possible. You will sleep better at night.

If I could give less than one star I would. So bad that they prompt me to write about it. Always an issue. These people must just want you to die because they fight like hell NOT to give you your meds...

Three prescriptions sent with seals broken, box's not sealed and meds sitting out of the box in the shipping envelope. I have spent hours trying to get my prescription sent for three weeks. Then promise it would be called to a local pharmacy so I could pick it up and it never was. I was told shipping envelopes would be sent so I could send product back, never sent. I am shocked at how unprofessional this company is.

My work plan switched from Express Scripts to Caremark. The amount of trouble transferring my children's and husband's medications is overwhelming. One child needs an inhaler. The doctor tried 3 different brands and they even denied the brand they claimed is covered. After 2 months, we still don't have it settled. My other child takes ADHD meds, which take a lot of figuring out to get the dosage right. We found something that's working and just got a letter that in 2 months the cost is going up (and say how much though). My husband is also trying to get a cholesterol med filled.

The lack of covered medications is disgusting. If someone needs a medication, cover it. The poor communication is very frustrating. I'm worried about my children getting the scripts they need. If you can avoid Caremark, do it. Unfortunately not everyone has this choice.

The website is very hard to use and often down.

Customer service is one person who speaks just enough English, but can never answer my question about how much a particular medication will cost through their mailorder service. I am ready to bail. Anyone else experiencing this?

Tip for consumers:
Be prepared for bad phone connections and long delays while the one person goes to look something up on the other side of the hut somewhere abroad. Etna will not survive if this continues.

Medicare part D coverage. Charged $81 copay for generic drug which can be purchased from GoodRX for$13-16. Refused to return item or refund money. Won't send other prescriptions until balance is paid, but still taking premium from SSI. A bunch of thieves.

While the customer service are very polite, they make repeated mistakes. This is prescription drugs they are messing up. We sent the meds, you should get them any day. Told that on three different calls, 4th call they say they don't even have a script for it. Dr has to call it in for the 3rd time. Then they send it to the wrong address. I'm completely out now that 3 weeks have gone by, and they won't let me pick it up at a local place even though they said they would on the 92 minute phone call. They denied it 20 minutes later when I got there. So I had to pay out of pocket. Who knows how long I'll be on the phone trying to get my money back.

Avoid this company if at all possible.

Caremark is the worst mail order pharmacy I have ever dealt with. They repeatedly send mail complaining that: they can't reach any of my 3 doctors; they have rejected my prescription for unexplained reason; or that my insurer will no longer cover prescriptions I have taken for many years. Neither Express scripts nor Optim (United Healthcare' mail order pharmacy) have had these problems. Frankly, Caremark is a big pain in the rear end. They require high patient effort on a repeating basis to get common generic drugs that you have taken for years under Medicare Advantage plans. If you can find another mail order pharmacy, you will be a lot happier.

Heart transplant patient. Sent me wrong quantity of medicine. Said they would review my request even thou they sent out older prescription amount. Make a ton of money off of me due to the high cost of my medicines All about profits customer is Never Right. Total ripoff. Will change mail-order prescription companies and they can shove the 40 dollars and by doing so lose thousands from me overtime. Horrible Company Lousy Ethics. Zero Rating. Steve

My wife used Caremark a few years ago and it was a disaster. It literally threatened her health. She didn't get a Med on time that she needed and customer service was horrible.

I myself have stopped doing business with CVS because they also became so bad that my health was threatened due to their severe dysfunction. I was a loyal customer for decades.

I'm now signing up for Medicare Advantage Plan. The insurer is truly fantastic, and they offer discounted pricing if I use Caremark. I said No Way. I'd rather spend a minor amount more than to leave my health in the hands of Caremark.

According to highly regarded Johns Hopkins, 37% of all deaths are due to medical errors. With Caremark I'd be on the bad side of that %

I have had nothing but trouble since my employer switched out plan to CVS CareMark. I'm 55, and this is the first time my experience has been so bad that I felt it was necessary to lodge a complaint. Rx go unfilled. There is no consistent communication. The formulary is extremely limited. The co-pays are ridiculous.

It has taken me and my wife over 20 hours on the phone and dozens of calls to CVS Caremark and our doctor's office. I have to take blood thinners and have had to get several emergency refills while trying to get CVS Caremark mail order to send my my medications. This is life saving medication for me. It is crazy what they say and then so frustrating to keep calling my doctor to have the same renewal called in over and over again. The information on the members web page is never up to date and always incorrect. I get to talk to a supervisor after an hour wait and they know nothing and can barely speak English. It's like having a discussion with a spoiled 3 year-old. I'm never rude or condescending -- that is not helpful. But these guys are the definition of incompetent.

Received an envelope without medication which the USPS had repeatedly stamped "received without contents". CVS Caremark refuses to replace my medication saying "we have a tracking number". So they use up my last refill and refuse to replace this. Told me I need to call my Doctor and ask for a new prescription. Meanwhile I am out of my meds in 3 days. This place is appalling! Will NEVER use them again. Going back to my local pharmacy. Do not trust this place.
