I would like 👍 to thank Kobe and Luis and their team of Car sales professionals for going above and beyond to provide a contract to meet our family needs. I will recommend Karplus Auto in San Fernando Valley to anyone interested in purchasing a vehicle 🚗.
I listed with CarGurus as a private seller not once, but twice on the same car. First time I listed the car at my own price, and they gave me a good price rating two days later after my payment had cleared to them. It was dropped to a fair price. So I canceled the ad until I could afford to lower the price a month later I relisted the vehicle at their suggested price which they gave me a good price rating again, but when my payment cleared, the rating was dropped to a fair deal rating again. When I called, they said it had nothing to do with anything but the fair market value. It's awful funny how the fair market value could change after two days not once but twice! Sellers Beware this site is a scam!
Wonderful service, very happy with my car, Joel Marin was a very profesional made car buying a great experience, help make the right choice, Abel Barraza great manager help me with my financing decisions, very happy with service n my new car.
Purchased my 2019 Ford F150, started having motor issues at about 29k. Kept going to dealers, kept getting lied to, pushed aside, etc. Finally found a dealership to address the issue, and have been waiting 9 months for a motor seeing that mine is bad. 2019 Coyote motors were known to have serious issues, and still 9 months later my truck sits. I still have to make that high monthly truck payment as I'm being told...we are trying to find a motor, using all my connections, Ford doesn't have any motors, Ford isn't making any warranty parts, they are worried about building new vehicles right now, etc. As I have shelled out over 7k in monthly payments to have my truck sit! When they get your money, it's now feeling like oh well sucks to be you. Thought about trading my 2016 Mustang Gt in for a New 2022 Mustang Mach, but after careful thought I was like...are you stupid, they can't even do the warranty work on your truck...this is my 1st F150 after having Sierras all my life, it will be my last F150. And it's like nobody cares that my truck is just sitting! A warranty is a warranty, it should of been taken care of right away. I tried to be patient, but those are gone now. I will hit every Social Media site I can and leave this review about Ford EVERYWHERE. Beware of buying a Ford, if this is how I'm treated, how will you be treated when the time comes? Worst vehicle experience EVER!

I bought a truck here at Family Toyota of Arlington. I found The ad for this truck on carguru.com on 9/24/19. I owed $******* on my trade they told me on the phone they would pay off my trade in. When i got there they said we can only give you $9000 for the trade. I said I will meet you in the middle, give me $10,000 I will pay the other $1,000 to pay off the trade. They agreed. I used my credit card to pay the $1000 difference to get my loan paid on my trade in. They jiggled the paper work to show a $1000 as a down payment on new vehicle. A week after the sale the finance department at Family Toyota called me and said that My finance company "Capital One bank" had called them & said that I could not use my credit card for down payment I had to bring them $1000 cash for down payment or bring a cashiers check. I had arranged with "Capital One bank" before I went to the dealer to finance the vehicle I bought from them. I have bought 5 vehicles financed through Capital one never had this happen before. The card I used was a Capital one card. I have since paid my credit card. When I asked for phone number to call the capital one to see what was going on he said dont worry I think I can Fix It. Very Shady Finance department at family Toyota buyer beware!
Honesty after I read some reviews I was scare of buying a car in this place but after with Marias help and the manager I was a lot more comfortable with my purchased. Recommended
Tampa Toyota stated the price on car gurus is wrong and now I have 2 high pressure sales people spamming me. $6000 discrepancy on pricing.
Tip for consumers:
Nothing. Won’t be scammed, spammed, or bait and switched.
Products used:
None. The experience broke down at purchase
Buyer Beware when using Car Guru "great deal", "fair deal" sorting feature. This is not an accurate sorting tool, does not provide accurate data, and Car Guru takes no action to correct it. On two occasions I spent significant time working on buying vehicles based on Car Guru "great deal" searches only to find the dealers listed lower prices online that were clearly false advertising, then marked the prices up at purchase time. The most recent was North Wilkesboro Toyota in Wilkesboro NC. They advertised a Toyota Rav 4 as pre certified with warranty included at $23,998. Then at closing they try to add $1,499 for the Certified Pre Owned Warranty even though it was included in the web listing. They also added a millennium package at $499 bringing the total to $25,766. This made the Car Guru search worthless as this was no longer a great deal. A complaint was filed with Car Gurus including a copy of the listing and a written quote from the dealer. Nothing was done by Car Guru. Dealers are working the search analytics by posting fraudulent deals they will not honor and CAR GURU is not doing anything to address. Buyer Beware. A CAR GURU search is a waste of your time!
The reviews on this site are incredibly misleading and shallow. The reviewer/consumer does not even have to make a transaction with the dealership, only an e-mail interaction. Therefore you get a lot of positive reviews like, "nice people" and "responded efficiently to my inquiry." Furthermore, Car Gurus does not allow reviews from consumers that do not use their site. SO if I purchased a car from "Dealer A" by going to their lot or through another site like eBay and have a verified purchase agreement, then I could not post a review on Car Gurus. The result of this shallow review system is that there are dealerships on Car Gurus that have a large amount of positive reviews with little to no sales transactions and basically a lot of dumb reviews.
Some great examples to look at are dealerships like Amazing Cars LLC, Car Champs, Ultimate Automobiles (Stafford TX) and Ultimate Motorsports (Houston TX). They have a large collection of positive reviews on Car Gurus but if you did even some basic searching around the internet you would find that those dealerships have a HUGE amount of negative reviews - see review sites like YP, Yelp, etc. As well, those same dealerships advertise many cars for sale through Car Gurus that are not actually available! They are "bait" cars, so they can get inquiries and contacts.
I could never trust Car Gurus because of their incomplete and shallow dealer review system and the fact that they allow many shady dealerships to operate through their site.
Georgia Luxury Cars on Cobb Pkwy in Marietta, GA, sold me a car that failed emissions. They took the car for emissions an hour before I bought the car then sold it to me and told me it passed emissions.
When I confronted the saleman Dywane, he told me Ed and Izzy his managers told him to do that.
Gage Welch, my auto seller was very helpful and professional. He was very patient and answered all my questions. If anyone needa to get a car today he will make sure you get a car the same day.
I searched Car Gurus for several weeks and finally settled on a listing for a 2015 Prius 5 with 7K+ miles. I contacted the dealer (Duells Evansville Kia Mazda) through Car Gurus and drove 140 miles to see it. I was given a rush test drive in an unfamiliar car in unfamiliar surroundings in traffic. After getting the car home I discovered it was not a prius 5 as listed and did not have the features I wanted. I notified the dealer and within a couple hours the listing was changed to reflect the car I purchased. Duells Evansville Kia Mazda claims they have nothing to do with the listings on Car Gurus. I think Car Gurus is aiding and abetting crooked dealers such as Duells Evansville Kia Mazda.
Tip for consumers:
Avoid this site. they allow crooked car dealers to rip off unsuspecting people.
The only reason I am giving CarGurus 1 star is because I doubt this website would allow me to post this review without giving a rating. I tried to sell my 1960 Willys CJ5 jeep and ran into constant problems. To verify ownership, I needed to upload a picture of my car with a sign in the windshield that had a certain code. This picture was refused because the sign didn't have "For CarGurus" written on it. I don't understand the logic behind this, but I'm assuming there's none. Nevertheless, I tried again. This time it was refused because the driver's door wasn't open. The car has a military issue canvas top with the doors built into the top. There are no locks on the doors, meaning that a photo with the doors open doesn't prove ownership. I called Customer Service and explained this, but he simply said to send them an email. I sent them an email and after two weeks, I didn't receive a reply. Then I discovered that my listing was deleted. The only conclusion that I can draw from this, is that CarGurus is either staffed by incompetent idiots or apathetic idiots. I can't really tell which, but I have a feeling that it's both.
I had hector sell me a new journy and eric helped best service in some time. I came in to see if they cud help me and they got me a great deal on a new car low note.
This site SUCKS
I tried to review a dealership because they were being super SKETCHY and SHADY
But instead of letting me rate the shady dealer, it kept taking me to another dealer review site that I didn't have a problem with. Shady shady shady, stay away! And stay away from AutoCenters wood river, IL
Buyer beware. After placing my ad I noticed that cargurus had made numerous mistakes that I requested be corrected. I requested that my car main description be changed to show I was offering a Certified 2018 Infiniti Q50 Sport model. The model was eventually changed to reflect it was a Sport model but nothing was ever done to reflect it as being a CPO vehicle. When I started researching deeper I began to notice that dealers with similar vehicles for sale were receiving much better IMV values from cargurus than private sellers were. I ran Kelly Blue Book comparisons and presented them to cargurus and they basically said it cost dealers more to sell a vehicle than private parties so they assigned them a higher rating. When I quit laughing I tried to explain to them a book value is a book value any way you look at it. They refused to change their rating on my car. I told them to cancel my ad immediately because I could not knowingly support a company who so grossly misrepresents what a good deal is by always slanting their ratings towards a dealer and against the public.
SCAM ALERT! I am a dealer in California and I have never dealt with such HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and LIES than Cargurus. THEY PRMISE YOU ONE THING TO SIGN U UP AND THEN THEY do not honor their promises... They are FAKE AND THEY ARE LIARS... SCAM ALERT - SCAM ALERT - SCAM ALERT
I recently purchased a 2004 Infinity g35 with 89,677 miles from American Repair Inc. on 2005 Gessner Rd. Houston, Texas *******. I test drove the vehicle down the street and there was no obvious issues. I drove it back to the dealer and went through the process of purchasing the car. The car was to be sold for $8,000 plus tax, tile and license. I gave him $ 3,100.00 down and was financing the rest. After I closed the deal I drove the car home and the next day started driving the car running my every day errands. After about an hour the temperature gauge started going up. I pulled the car over and had someone come get me and the car. Took the car to a certified mechanic and found out the cooling fans, thermostat and water pump had to be replaced. Spent over $ 1,000 for parts and labor. Then I find out that the owner of this Car Lot/ Mechanic shop did not report my $ 3,100 down payment to the finance co. He kept $ 1,000.00 of my down payment. I went back to him to get my tags and I told him of the situation. His response was" I drove the car and nothing was wrong with it and wanted to know why I didn't bring the car back to him to check it out ". Really! After he scammed me out of $ 1,000.00 and sold me that crap. I took the vehicle to a reputable certified mechanic and had the issues taken care of correctly. I happy I ask for a receipt for my down payment. I contacted the finance company and they are working trying to get my $ 1,000 back. Do not purchase any vehicle from this place. If you do, make sure you get a receipt and make sure you drive the vehicle longer than 10 minutes.
CarGurus was supposed to pick up vehicle for purchase and never made it nor called to reschedule. Bad
CarGurus led me to Feretti Motors in Philadelphia a year ago where I got a really good deal from David who had the paperwork and the Cadillac SRX SUV AWD ready to go when I arrived late in the afternoon. The entire transaction took slightly less than a half-hour and I was on the way back to Indiana, PA where the snow was waiting for me. The SRX took it all in stride and it has been a great vehicle since the purchase. A couple days ago, I needed to secure another AWD but a car instead of a SUV. Naturally, I contacted David after visiting his web site and inquired about the 2016 BMW 428i x-Drive. I explained I could come to Philadelphia in a day or two as I had to finish an important task at the University first. I was 100% comfortable in his promise to have the BMW ready for delivery when I arrived, and it was in every way. To me, it was another successful transaction and I could not be more pleased. *****
CarGurus gives small dealerships the impression that they will create tons of customer leads for them when in actuality they only create a additional bill for that small business. Our small business was lured into a contract with them with promises of great customer turnover. CarGurus created no additional foot traffic or generated no phone calls or inquiries about our inventory. We were locked into a contract that we could not get out of and there was no adjustment to the pricing. We called to cancel the services and were told that there would be no cancelation until the end of the terms and even when the terms were done you still had to cancel at least 30 days out, or you would be billed for services for the next month. We spoke to a representative named Kevin Nylander who was by far not the nicest individual at all. We explained that companies like CarGurus were helping to put small businesses out of business during these times of Covid 19 by locking small companies in to contracts and charging them for services that were not producing any results. Franchise Dealers may be able to afford these monstrous rates but our small independent dealership certainly could not afford it. He simply responded snidely " read your contract buddy, don't give me that." I then at that point asked to speak to a supervisor, which at that time he said there was none. I am simply trying to keep the doors to our business open during these tough times, and am only looking for a small sense of humanity from this Gigantic corporation called CarGurus.
Bought a vehicle through carguru and the dealer, Dan Vaden in Brunswick Ga was an experience I would just love to forget. The vehicle is great but the service after the sale was atrocious.
This was one of the least user friendly sites I've encountered... wasted my time... got nowhere with it... carfax was a much easier site to use
Bought a truck and the AC doesn't work, they only gave me one key, should have been two, and now they won't even return my calls. SHADY OPERATORS. If you go here, buyer BEWARE!
