I would like 👍 to thank Kobe and Luis and their team of Car sales professionals for going above and beyond to provide a contract to meet our family needs. I will recommend Karplus Auto in San Fernando Valley to anyone interested in purchasing a vehicle 🚗.
I listed with CarGurus as a private seller not once, but twice on the same car. First time I listed the car at my own price, and they gave me a good price rating two days later after my payment had cleared to them. It was dropped to a fair price. So I canceled the ad until I could afford to lower the price a month later I relisted the vehicle at their suggested price which they gave me a good price rating again, but when my payment cleared, the rating was dropped to a fair deal rating again. When I called, they said it had nothing to do with anything but the fair market value. It's awful funny how the fair market value could change after two days not once but twice! Sellers Beware this site is a scam!
I went to a car dealership that was horrible and car guru won't allow me to leave a review on them because I didn't use their website to find this dealership. That leaves for horribly inaccurate information on a dealership. That website shouldn't exist with that business model
Tip for consumers:
Use a website that lets all users review it

It’s a website to find cars
Cargurus is a pain in the you know what to use as it's almost impossible to share a listing with someone. You can't just copy and paste the link as all the person you sent the link to gets is a local listing of the model of car that was in the link. So, for example, if my wife copies the link to a 2013 BMW X5 in LA that she likes all I get when I click on the link is a list of X5s for sale in the Bay Area. Why? But there is an email link you say! Just have her send it as an email through Cargurus you say! Well we have tried that and those emails usually disappear into the either (yes I have checked my spam folder).
Dear car dealerships, please stop using this crap website that makes is almost impossible to share your listing with other people.
I am personally dissatisfied with this site every time I'm interested amazingly they just sold it and then get emails trying to sell me something else when I know what I want I don't want to go buy a new vehicle when they go and sell the used one that I wanted! So I won't be going through guru cause it seems like a trick to get names to buy vehicles they wouldn't want even if they could afford it!
Tip for consumers:
Don’t bother unless you want your info out to keep bugging you to buy what you don’t want

Had a very good experience buying my car everybody was definitely a lot of help all down from the management to salesman to the finalized had a lot of fun and met a lot of cool people great place to buy a car at Maxx auto thanks alot to everyone
They cater to dealers. If you sell your car personally their is zero customer service. 1st you get 2000 characters to describe your car so if you want to put all the features you can't. Second if you need to talk to someone you can't. They only talk to dealers. They email everyone else. But they don't email you or respond. When you call and hit the prompt you go to voicemail and they don't call you back. They disabled my account and didn't tell me. When I called and said I was a dealer they answered the phone and said it was listed from another country. I listed from Pennsylvania. They said they had to send an email to the dept that deals with personal listings. When I asked for a phone call because I was concerned about my identity they said no they only talk to dealers. The worst customer service ever!
Car Gurus allows dealers to advertise cars that price cars that have hidden fees many times $5000-$8000 higher. Its a waste of time. It appears this is common practice and I have just researched cars in NJ. BMW X5's 2018-2020 Unique Auto Mall, Auto Hub, Route 23, Empire, to name just four. There are others nationwide from what I am hearing. Lesson here, a great deal is not a great deal ever- and their qualification of that deal is inconsistent- better going to KBB.
I purchased a vehicle from $#*! Smith Ford the salesman was Henry Pulliam, Jr. And the sales manager was Erik Abreu. They negotiated in good faith and satisfied all my expectations of my Platinum F-150.

I had the worst experience with one of the car dealers advertising on Cargurus. When they asked me to post a review about my experience, I told of how the dealership raised the price of the car by $200.00 once they realized that I wanted to buy & after I acquired financing. CarGuru rejected my posting 3 times because they said that I accused the dealership. I only told the truth about my experience and have the pre-approval sheet showing the original price $200.00 less. Instead of CarGuru looking into the negative dealings of the dealership CarGuru continually buried my review. SHAME on CarGru!
Car gurus does zero verification of vehicles and info. I just had a buyback due to safety issues, that due to a prior to my purchase accident. I had an accident less than 24 hours later because of alignment issues. Now the SAME CAR is more money, listed as NO ACCIDENTS and car gurus couldn't care less. I will spend one year making sure this BS ends
Tip for consumers:
Let's see how it goes first. So far it's confusing and wasting my valuable time

I've bought my second car from Susan Najjar and David McDavid Lincoln in Plano and im ecstatic. Susan will forever be the best sales person ive ever had the pleasure of buying cars from. She is honest, transparent, kind and full of fun and integrity. You need to come see Susan Najjar and buy and fall in love with a Lincoln!
I am trying to sell my car on carguru's. They make it easy to open an account however after that everything sucks with them. They ask for vehicle verification photos to verify I own the vehicle.
When the buyer comes to see the vehicle and I show them the title and I put in my ad we will meet@ the nearest DMV to verify all the paperwork what more verification does anyone need besides a pat down from the TSA.
Pissoff carguru's.
Be careful scammers Don't use this site Some information about cars including price is a lie Car Gurus allows dealers to advertise cars that price cars that have hidden fees many times $3000-$8000 higher.
Placed deposit on vehicle before seeing as was told there was alot of interest in vehicle, was mis- informed on both mileage and service history then had the audacity to refuse deposit refund after vehicle was blatantly mis-adveritised... avoid avoid
Pure water no anti freeze knowing we were driving way North disconnected Kat light when connected find out convertors on backwards all jacks and tire tools disappeared including spare tire tool 65 days to get Title made us pay overnight against contract terms Rude per shots of mistruth
After finding a car on Car guru I purchased a 2012 pathfinder from prestige auto in Medford Massachusetts. When I bought the car the engine light was on in the Dash, after determining the code and bringing it back four times I got permission from the dealer salesman and brought it to a local Nissan dealership. When I called the dealer to pay the bill he offered me a partial payment and said that is all they will do. I called back to talk to the manager and he left me on the phone hanging then hung up I would like car guru to speak to this dealership as well. I have all the facts, dates, and money spent with receipts that I sent to the dealer. Pristige auto should be removed from your listings and pay the bill for work done on the car.
CarGurus is in the pocket of the dealers. Their pricing of privately selling vehicles is a good $3000-$3500 less than the published KBB pricing. They clearly are in the pocket of the dealers and when this issue was raised to them they acted like they didn't know about it and couldn't do anything about it. No private seller should ever use cargurus.
I have been searching for a car on Cargurus. Saved a search and set up for price drop notification. Got an alert that price dropped and notified seller immediatly and called them the first thing in the morning. Seller was European masters and salesmen says he has a different price than the one I am stating, he further states he see's the price online but has a different price at his place. He stated he needs to check with his manager and will call me back. He did and said the car has been sold and he doesn't know why it was there with a price drop and that Cargurus is a 3rd party that they pay to advertise... Moral of the story is Cargurus is an extension of the "Salesman" on the dealer lot and their ads are bogus as the the salesmen we all try to avoid. My opinion is "don't be fooled" I have spent countless hours looking at their cars only to find things don't match. This is my 2nd experience... shame on me... All done here... please be ware.
My Mini Coope, r purchase from Steve at Blackbird Crossroad Motors in Leicester in January 2019, exceeded expectations. I was given all the details I needed before visiting the dealership, including a negociated price for the vehicle. The test drive, purchase, service and valeting were over in a matter of 3 days, in a most professional and friendly manner, I would recommend anyone thinking of buying a second hand call to make Car Gurus their first port of call.
I have a daughter going away to college that desperately needs a reliable car. Used CarGurus to locate a car 2 states away. After expressing an interest in car, through CarGurus, I was contacted by said dealer. Listed car was still available. Listed 51 days ago on CarGurus. After many calls, texts and emails, the sales staff at said dealer agreed to an $18,000 all cash offer. Sales paperwork was started... then came the bad news. Salesperson called to inform me that said available car was currently being purchased by a walk-on to their lot. Now, a few days later, the same car is still listed on CarGurus. After repeated attempts to contact CarGurus, and attempting to leave a review on their website, I am now being gaslighted by CarGurus. They refuse to publish my review of said delaer, and will not respond back to my questions. CARGURUS IS COMPLETELY A SHAM.
Tip for consumers:
Find a different venue to search for a new or used car. DO NOT USE CARGURUS.

These people were calling my dealership every day and saying they are going to send a private investigator unless we pay them and I thought it was a scam because I never used car gurus and I never received any letter or bill so I said bring the investigator which never came but they kept harassing me everyday so to make them go away I had to pay them 2,500$. They are PROFESSIONAL scammers! My best advice is don't use them to buy or sell cars! Again I never used there sight
Car gurus is great for doing research until you are actually looking for a vehicle. Example, say you are looking for a new car with a maximum price of $20,000. In the search area, you filter to search by price, you input a minimum of $5000 and a maximum of $20,000 and you get 150 pages of vehicles. The problem is, in your search area, say 100 miles from a zipcode, there are only 15 cars that meet the criteria. The rest are all cars with $30-100K MSRP with no price. So you are left sifting through hundred and hundreds of cars just to find the ones that fit for what you are looking. There is no option to exclude vehicles with no price. Therefore I can't recommend it as a vehicle search tool.
You would think using CarGurus would save all the hassle negotiating at the car dealerships. It is frustrating using CarGurus as the dealers are listing cars that are not available and they tried to mark up MSRP as much as $60k. Technology supposed to help us but your technology frustrates us! CarGurus, ask yourself WHY you have this platform in the first place!
