I dont recommend this service to anyone! I am a dealer in Sterling, VA and have been using their services for about 6 months now and I have not had one customer show up for a test drive. You get a bunch of email leads however when you respond to these requests or try calling these customers you don't get a response. The emails come through at odd hours in the day based on the zip codes provided which adds to my opinion that this is a scam. Once in a while I receive a phone call lead but the customers never show up. I had been wondering for a long time about why none of these customers respond to my outreach so I went back and did some research. What I found was that there were several fake customers emailing me on several different cars throughout these months by using the same email address but different names. Either CarGurus is paying out these people to send in leads or has an automatic system that pushes out random emails. The questions and requests are Always the same: "is this car available" and then its crickets. I did some more digging by Googling a customer's name (most people have some sort of a social media account nowadays right?) and so I come to find that one of my "customers" is associated with a group called "Make Money at Home"... makes you wonder if CarGurus is a customer of theirs for sending out fake leads. There is no way all of this makes sense. CarGurus does not provide a service- they only fool you into believing their services work and then push the blame on the dealer if they're not making any sales. If I had spent the crazy amount of cash I pay out to CarGurus monthly on paper ads I would have gotten more people in the door. CarGurus does not even deserve that one star but there is no option for no stars. Do not fall for the CarGurus SCAM!

I listed my car and the IMV said way overpriced but a similar car to mine listed by a dealer priced the same was IMV of fair.

Car gurus said there was nothing they could do about it.

Management and employees are idiots at CarGurus!
I write an honest review about a dealership or two and they keep sending it back to me wanting me to sugar coat it. If I change my review to what THEY WANT, then it's not my review at all, it's theirs.
I follow the guidelines set by them and don't use vulgar language ( my mother taught me better) don't point fingers at anyone specific and don't threaten legal action.
BUT I AM STRAIGHT FORWARD AND THEY DON'T LIKE THAT!
I'M KINDA LIKE ANDY ROONEY IF YOU REMEMBER HIM FROM 60 MINUTES.
SO CAR GURUS HAS BANNED ME FROM WRITING REVIEWS ON THEIR WEBSITE.!
SILENCED ME, AT LEAST SO THEY THINK!
Now, not only will I find platforms to write reviews about scammer Dealerships,
I will write NEGATIVE REVIEWS about CarGurus too!
Money is the root of all evil so I heard lol.
They make their money from these Dealerships that advertise on their website so naturally THEY ARE GOING TO PROTECT THEM!
If the evil car dealership goes out of business, so does CarGurus!

THIS DEALER WAS ADVERTISING A 2003 FRORD RANGER I LIKED AND CONTACT THEM IT NEEDED A WINDSHIELD AND OTHER REPAIRS. HE AGREES TO THE REPAIRS AND ASKED ME FOR A 1000 DOLLAR DEPOSIT WICH I DIS TRANSFER VIA SELL FROM MY ACCOUNT I HAVE A RECEIPT WNT BACK NEX DAY IT WAS RAINING REAL BAD AND HIS GATE WAS CLOSED I ASKED HIM TO OPEN AND HE ASKED ME TO DO IT AND I FELL DUE TO THE WEIGHT OF THE GATE HURTING MY BACK ASKED HIM FOR A RETURN OF MY MONEY HE SAID NO RETURN OF THE MONEY BEWARE THIS GUY IS FROM NEPAL AND HE IS A THIEF

I wish I would have found this site before I agreed to sell my truck to CarGurus, they have cancelled three times already and last time didn't even call to cancel just didn't show up.

Seems like they only deal with two lenders to get you pre-approved low approval rating and then they blow your email up with endless spam

Cargurus are one step away from absolutely useless... STAY AWAY FROM THESE COWBOYS! They promise you that the vendor will be in contact with you very soon... which becomes never!

When I put in SSPECIFIC PICK UP TRUCK
MAX PRICE I GOT MERCEDES $40,0000. 00. Maserati $ 87,000.00 a d so on. No trucks. Tried several same results. Nothing worked. What a joke of a site

It's hopless app, pop on Facebook with very good deal but when you click on it, never comes up and showing similar vehicle with double the price.

Car guru is fake. He has no knowledge of cars and simply makes video by downloading from Google. This taklu is a dance master not car expert.

Fake cars sold by the dealership. Worst of all, they won't accept any bad reviews on their reviews. The reviews are all fake!

We purchased a used Prius in very good condition. PJ is knowledgeable and helpful. I would use his services again, and I recommend him.

Too long to process of everything from your app. Too complicated, signing is ridiculously hard! Can get value of my car!

It seems as tho MANY UNSCRUPULOUS and SHADY Automobile Dealerships advertise on CarGurus, SO BE CAREFUL AND PROTECT YOUR MONEY.

CarGurus has a place where you can review the dealership
They encouragee it by sending an email to remind you.

I've looked at & made full price offers on several vehicles and to say the least had most dealers add thousands of dollars in extra FEES. I'm not talking government fees such as taxes etc... I'm talking DOC FEES, reconditioning fees, dealer prep, nitrogen in tires, etc...
I don't know about you, but I want air in my tires it's been used for over 100 years!
If I want something added to my vehicle, I'll ask for it!

So when it comes time for me to write a review, I'm quite critical of some Dealerships to try & protect other people.
CarGurus will edit my review or not post it at all if they don't like it.
Does anyone remember Ralph Nader?
I'm kind of the Ralph Nader of the 21st century.
I don't like seeing people get screwed out of their hard earned money.
Bottom line - Protect yourself & guard your money, be on the look out for scammers.

This website is so easy to find your dream car with your best price. I found my car in CarGurus.com.

Car looked great and was told it was mechanically sound. Not even 30 days later it needs a new transmission.

Basel and Youssef are Awesome! They sold my high school daughter her 1st car! They are so professional. We, definitely, will come back!

Low to no customer service, redirecting leads with other units to other dealers within minutes, rude CENTER team that will not let you talk to team leads/managers to cover up their poor service.

Team is very rude. They don't tell you whole process upfront. Keeping adding things. You cannot get even your listing that they cannot post.
