I bought an Office Depot gift card through them. I was under the impression I was buying through Office Depot. Cash Star said I'd receive a notice when the card(email) was opened up. I never received a notice. My friend never received the card.
AFter many failed phone calls where the line mysteriously cut off, i was able to get through to somebody. They told me there was "no refunds". Excuse me... I paid $50 and my friend never received anything... a Valentine's Day gift... she still haven't received it as of February 18th. I want MY MONEY BACK!
I became really mad and let them
Know I'm going to dispute the charge and post as many bad reviews as possible about their company. The guy assured me somebody would be calling me back. I have yet to get that phone call.

I am going to be a thorn in their sides until I get my money back.

This is a huge company. After reading the reviews below, a class-action needs to be brought against these criminals.

I was repeatedly told different things about getting my certificate numbers every time I called. I was usually told "wait 10 business days for your certificate number". And it would never come, and then I would be told again that it was being investigated, and had been resolved in my favor, and that I would get my $350.00 certificate value. Just wait 10 more business days. I spent all my frequent flyer miles to get nothing. Nothing. Horrible hateful company to deal with.

The first 2 times I used this service it was great for Subway. I often give away gifts on a Social Media page. Last week 2 went through the 3rd was a bad email address, I immediately fixed the issue. The card was never sent and when I reached out again they told me to contact Subway directly. Today I received another answer from them instructing me to go to Subway online and use the contact us page... which I have already done. NEVER AGAIN.

So i bought a robux gift card because i was feeling adventurous right? I got two emails at the same time one saying the purchase couldn't go through and another saying it did and i'd get an email shortly getting the card info. I didn't get it. I waited 5 hours and still no gift card info so of course i contacted both roblox and cashstar, only roblox got back to me and they didn't even help. Still waiting for my money and remember kids never buy from cashstar even if roblox recommends it buy from walmart or target!

I bought an item and it didn't even go through at the ROBLOX store. Then they took my money without even giving back the money to my bank. This app is literally a scam and for all I care the people that work for it should be fired in an instant for this as they must suck at their job if their gonna tell us that 'they have a secure bank holder' even though they clearly DO NOT. This is ridiculous.

We'll all I did was buy a 5$ gift card, I didn't receive any emails from the digital gift card and when I payed for it it said it declined my card. The payment was taken from my bank account though I never received my gift card, waste of money

I purchased something for $10 and it came to $15. The only reason i purchased a gift card is you get more robux for cheaper. If i knew it was going to come to $15. I would've purchased from the roblox app.

SCAM! DONT DO IT!

I had to threaten legal actions to get my gift card from them. They withheld it and refused to help me because I was not the person the card was for. I opened a dispute and will be notifying anyone they client with about them. Do yourself the favor and go out and buy a card or venmo someone money. It be safer and less of a stresser.

I ordered Texas Road House egift cards for the holidays and never received them. I chatted with CS and was told there was nothing they could do for me, They have my perfectly correct email that I use everyday but hey say it shows on their end undeliverable. I offered up another email after they had me verified but refused, I will be disputing the charges from my credit card company,,, NEVER BUY EGIFT CARDS FROM TEXAS ROAD HOUSE

Wish I could rate lower

Bought a $500 e-gift card on Ikea and wasn't aware it was from a third party site that wouldn't actually deliver it or care... I have to report it to my bank to try and get money back from this scam. Shame on any company that uses these guys. Wish I knew and did research before hand.

Horrible customer service

I purchased a Sephora gift card on December 6 for my niece, for Christmas. On December 23, I still hadn't gotten the gift card. I tried several times to contact them without any success. I sent four
Emails. No one ever got back to me. I tried calling and after being on hold for one hour and a half, they hung up the phone on me. Sephora was not able to help me due to the fact that only Cashstar deals with the gift cards. Do yourself a favour and don't bother ordering any gift cards that deal with them. Horrible experience, horrible customer service. All they want is your money and won't help you with any issues.

Horrible experience! I tried to buy 3 $200 Roblox gift cards and it declined the first time then it went through the second time but then immediately got an email saying "Unable to process your order". This happened last Monday, July 3rd. I'm writing this review today, Monday, July 10th. I had no idea Cashstar was a major scam I thought it was a legit way of buying Roblox e-gift cards but I guess not. Unfortunately I had to buy the gift cards from CVS/Walgreen's instead but now I'm down $600 more than what I was gonna spend. Since it's been 4 business days since my order factoring out Independence Day I'm going to wait until tomorrow then dispute the charge since my bank required 5 business days in order to dispute. Worst company I've ever dealt with! It's like someone else in the review said, you would have the same effect lighting your money on fire rather than buying from CashStar!

I purchased a $25 Quiktrip gift card. I was told to allow 7-10 business days. I tried calling about day 11 and was told, because it's Thursday, allow the time to last till Monday. I was too busy so I couldn't call til Tuesday. So I called stating still haven't received gift card, asked for a refund, was advised it can take 7-10 business days for refund. One month later, I have called. Cashstar has stated that on their side it showed refund was accepted by my instatution and I need to contact my bank. Well, I have a life freedom MasterCard. I have it through Voa, Volunteers of America, the life freedom card is not designed to receive any money for any reason except from my instatution that handles my SSI monthly income. So, 7-10 days was cleared that day. 2 months later, I still haven't seen my $25.

Mu husband lost his gift certificate and on the website clearly stats that if no one has used the lost card they would replace it. Not the case they actually wanted me to purchase another gift card and then they would add the other money form the lost card to the new card. The other woman had a TV on in the background that was interferring with the call. If Cashstar is the company issuing the gift certificate DO NOT purchase it!

Roblox E-Gift Card

Do Not Buy from this website. I purchased $50 and never received e-gift card code. The phone # *******818 is NOT VALID #. I called my Credit Card and they give different #*******451 and they delay me15 to 30 minutes by telling me that they will email me the code, after 30 minutes obviously no email from them, I called back, this time they told me I need to wait till the next day. Do Not Buy From This Website. It cost me $50 to learn my lesson and their scam website only worth $50. Take effort buy from store.

Tried to send email Home Depot gift card to friend in Houston dealing with flood. Would not go through to his email address even though I have had no issues sending anything in the past. I assumed that since it was undeliverable my CC would not be charged. I went to store and bought gift card and sent priority instead. Opened CC statement and see my acct. Was charged. Called for refund and stated my case and was denied- never again will I deal with cash star- woman on the phone was a b_tch to top it off- thanks so much for taking my money.

Card hacked!
November 29, 2021

Card balance of $200 was redeemed fraudulently. CashStar blamed it on the merchant (Athleta), Athleta blamed it on CashStar. No one would take responsibility and I was out the $200 gift plus payroll taxes I paid.

Best buy e-gift card

I was buying an e-gift card. It kept spinning when i hit submit no reference number. Acted like i didn't buy it. Charged my account. I called they said well the gift cards are by a second company, call them. I did, they said your card was purchased then redeemed immediately after, we need to investigate, wait for us to call. I called best buy back they refused to do anything! No where did it say my card info was going to another company. I was charged by best buy. I googled cashstar, I'm not the only one that's been scammed! I filed a complaint with the better buisness burro on both best buy and cashstar!

I ordered a Safeway gift card from CashStar because there was no other way to get a card on line. After ordering my card I got an e-mail confirming my purchase and another e-mail telling me that they denied the transaction. When I finally got to a live body (think India?) I was told that therre wasn't a method to purchase Safeway gift cards on line. In the mean time my credit card was charged for the transaction. I was told by the credit card company that the charge would probably be returned by Friday. CashStar has my money for at least five days. How many other transactions do they have pending that they are holding money for? Bad job, Safeway.
