Well today after 24 hours of weird $#*! from a friend who was a navi, to this time of being banned from it over something I have no idea why. No explanation was given and apparently you now have to become a mind reader to understand. There bullying tactics regards navigators is unbelievable as they tear a person apart if there out of work or disabled and that's very wrong. The previous chatter I would say nailed it as spot on, my opinion I would say 20% are good navis and 80 not, but the remaining 20 do work hard on it.

This site is horrible due to abusive navs and chiefs... they will ban u for no reason. The get rid of the good chatters and keep the bad ones on... that site lets sexual predators, paedos and other scum on there. The navs are bullies same as one chief there as well... They wont let you explain your side of the story. They will ban you without notice. Never going back on there ever.

What do navigators like Steve, Dominic and others think of themselves, believe me they should be kicked out, they are the biggest trouble makers and are fake friends. When they treat innocent people for having many nicknames and so on, they do not deserve to be in the site which used to be good a long time ago.

I came back to Lycos after not having visited a chat site for a very long time, after 40 mins of chatting and trying to remember how things worked I was told I had to log out and choose another name so the other chatters didn't mistake me for a navigator, they must not think the chatters are smart enough to tell the difference to a name with numbers and one without. After trying to delete the account and asking the navigator how, the navi refused to tell me and instead booted me.

I'm not going to go into detailing as you can read it on Trust pilot Lycos Reviews. 10/10 for the new icon of the captain as it looks better, as for communication 0/10 as that still not improved. Where there is three chiefs now as before there was only one and has it made it any better getting quicker responses.NO its got worse but I'm told the system is going through various changes and that's why communication is bad, but it's a chat room and is it not communication that it's all about or did I miss something.
My previous review you will see on here about a year ago without looking, I still see that same situation so nothing has changed. Navigators come and go and I and others see that and I know they have different chat names as most other do including myself who never hid mine. Lycos chat serious though seems to be messing with chatters heads or abusing them online which is strictly against there own rules that they have to stand by. There egos are so out of control now they think their untouchable gods or goddesses.
The powers that let these chat rooms use there space should seriously shut this down because it violates peoples rights and online bullying is against the law as if I stand correct is there a section in the rules to do with mental health.So YES Lycos Chat breaks its own rules constantly to suit there needs.let's be honest this group is never going to get 2.3..4.5 star ratings as it can't be run properly.

Bunch of stuck up Navis who treat you like a Five Y.O. & have a mean girls mindset. Glad I'm gone tbh

The site has gone down hill drastically. The site owners are successfully managing to kill the site. There are hardly any chatters and most of the navigators are rude. The site is not up to date either as many chat and social platforms have automated bots which do not look down on it's users. Hearing from other users of the site, many navigators are ban happy. Lycos chat used to promote itself as the worldsbiggestchat. Not anymore. It will become a soon distant memory. A fad which has died and something which I highly doubt will be missed as there are many other chats which are far larger with many more people or other services where you can chat without the hassle of someone trying to ban you.

As a transgender I was abused by moderators and by members of the server, told I am "Not a very attractive man" and "Not a very convincing woman" they also went out of their way to drag me to keelhauling (a channel used to hold you and abuse you more) where they stated "If I can't take a joke then f**k off".

This was from a person called Stevester, who then proceeded to tell me that he could, see my IP and could track me down, had my email address and knew my password, he could hack all my accounts if he wanted.

I have reported to the police but they stated that, due to this being an online issue, they cannot do much.

Best to avoid.

Sick of perverts and sexual predictors the site in my personal view should be shut down as it breeds everything bad. From keyboard warriors to Navigators that are so far up there own $#*!, it's chief is like the almighty and God help you if you don't agree with her and her ways. I've witnessed abuse and just about most things in my short time onboard. It's really sad as it many years back was a lovely place and good navis held it together with good chiefs, but as of now it's $#*!.
I'm ignored mainly since handing my navi notice in and why did I do that, well I had my eyes opened to many things that I've already mentioned. But another reason was if being an assistant navigator who is in training, then why did I not feel I was being trained for that role. I felt that there should of been times given to me to be with my mentors on my training and that didn't happen as 3/4s of the time I was stuck on my own like a piece of meat for hungry wolf's.
I wanted from day one to help people and greet newbies as they came aboard, I wanted to feel part of something good and a team member and for one day it went good then it dived very fast and I mentally fought my decision to quit as I had loads to offer, but what I asked or suggested sank like a ship at sea.
It's fair to say this and I'm right and that is this, navigator team and chief don't want good chatters they want everything bad and ugly to keep the chatroom rolling day by day as it gets interest although the wrong kind. People I've chatted to don't trust navis and had very bad experiences with them and some it's effected.

So what would I recommend to people about Lycos Chat. Well nothing to be truthful as it's a dangerous area for young girls of sixteen and I'm sure as hell wouldn't let my kids around it. It's value to me in help is 0 and can't be any fairer than that really and don't even enter it as it's full of fake people that are there for there own amusement..

If you don agree wit NAV's views you are out. NAV's have their favourites and no matter what they say, they will stand by them. AVOID

This site is potentially dangerous.

This site is full of moderators who act like the police, It is more strict than facebook. You have to pay for services where they claim the site is 100% free.

You have more options on facebook and that is free. On lycos chat, You have to pay for packages which either don't work or are really expensive.

The site monitor everything you do and nothing is safe on there where it comes to your personal details. The moderators are able to access your own personal information and non of them are vetted so it can be any random tom, D and harry who can look up your password, IP address, Personal Pictures, Your phone number and anything else you wish to upload. Some of your information are available to all of the moderators even stuff you have not uploaded. I know this as an insider has told me all of this information.

The moderators are extremely rude and spend most of their time talking to each other or just saying hello constantly. They are robots with anchors. They like to think they have power because they have an anchor. They love to ban people when they can.

The other rooms and I use the word "Room" loosely as there are only a few rooms which seem to have chatters who are very cruel and also are bullies.

If you are a female chatter then you will constantly get private messages from men who are after one thing and that is not to do the washing up.

To sum up overall. The site is bad and terrible and isn't worth any space on the internet.

Oh. My. Gosh nav and others are NOT supporting users who complain about them or users who are abusive toward females. There is NO place on this site to log a complaint about NAVs bad behavior. Certain NAVs are do NOT like USA and will make up issues to stop them chatting.
