I signed up for the trial to look up a childhood neighbor of mine, who has since passed away. CheckThem was the only site who had reports on this person. I pulled a basic report, which showed the person's birth date and several arrest records that the family has hidden from the state's public case search. The report didn't reveal the death or a date, which is fine because there were no online obituaries or announcements of death. I was worried about cancelling, but had no problems when I emailed the support contact.
Figured i would check it out just looking myself up took a while then asked for credit card info which i was expecting almost used my normal card then thought better of it and grabbed my Temporary card and loaded $2 on it and went through with it. No useful information came through except address, relations, and neighbors. Said oh well and moved on. Checked my email 20 minutes later and had 4 attempted charges to my temp card. Absolutely do not use this site don't touch it stay the heck away from them. The $1.99 charge is the only one they talk about. Nowhere else is any charge mentioned. Its a scam and they know it otherwise there would be online support.
Not only could I not find some people but what info they did have was incomplete and incorrect. Canceled right away as I saw there was a money back guarantee, boy was I foolish falling for that bull. Email "didn't go through" and no one will answer the phone. Worst 2.99 I ever spent. I will be canceling my card ASAP and I suggest you do the same. They've been known to charge cards randomly at random amounts. STAY FAR FAR AWAY.

First they charged me $1, then $4.70. I canceled and they charged me $44.85, will not refund the money. They're extremely unprofessional on the phone and via email. I hope they get shut down. Avoid this scam
They give you accurate information of the person that you want to locate or find. All you have to do is type the state and the name of the person youre finding for. It will give you a better search results. The price was very reasonable for the information that I needed. I compared it to the other background services that Ive dealt before they are the cheapest. You get all the information of the person youre looking for at a reasonable cost. So worth it!

I signed up and paid the 2.99 just to get an email address. Having read the terms and conditions, I am mediately attempted to cancel my membership, but inexplicably the link was broken and I got an error message. The error message directed me to email customer support, which I did immediately and also an 800 number that was a nonworking number. This is absolutely criminal. I have no idea how this company is in business. I have I reached out to customer support via email and phone several times and have had no response. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau if I don't get confirmation soon that I will not be charged any additional fees and my membership isn't that canceled.
I tried to cancel on the day they said my trial was good until and they said I was already charged because I didn't cancel soon enough! I know I canceled the day my account was good until! Asked for a supervisor but of course there wasn't one (sure!). When I looked people up all I got was addresses - anything else I would have to pay more for - just like all the other companies - so they are giving nothing for their "trial" subscription! Ripoff!

I just got off the phone with the rudest customer service specialist that I have ever talked to. His name is Louis I explained to him that I didn't see there was a $35 charge and told me flat out that I was just too stupid to read it, that it was the very 1st thing on the page. Had I had seen that I wouldn't have done it that's a ridiculous charge which is what I told him.
This site is terrible. I'll spend a ton of time cancelling and contesting the charge. The cancel process online does not work. Did background check of myself. Data was completely useless.

If you would like to complete a full background report you would probably need to do so on an FCRA-compliant website. The cancel button is available under "My Account" when you login. If you have any issues canceling you may call or e-mail us as well.
Good service. I use it on almost anyone i meet. A few of my friends have some suspicious pasts. I'm okay with it but it's better to know than to be completely unaware. Cant be too safe these days.

This is one of the most unethical company's in the world I payed the one time charge for a background check that came up as error when it was done loading I tried to cancel my subscription and when I pressed cancel it didnt work 5 days later I'm charged 44 dollars I will be contacting my lawyer these people are thieves.
I did a one time lookup that was $2.95...then they let me know I was now enrolled for $44 a month!!! I IMMEDIATELY canceled the bait & switch SCAM. That was a month ago. Today the charges my account $44 and then when I called the man was so RUDE. He wouldnt let me speak to a manager. I will take legal action against them and am so glad I have RECORDS of everything they did. DO NOT USE!!!!

Back on Oct 22,2018 I was skip-tracing a Canadian individual who may have moved to the USA. Google came up with a number of search options and 'checkthem.com' was one of them. I was offered a 5 day trial for $1.35 (Canadian) so billed it to my MasterCard. When I tried searching for other people this site wasn't helping because there was no options to search Canadian provinces. I called the customer service line supplied by the website *******722, spoke to a gentleman who explained they didn't have access to Canadian information. I informed him, that being the case, I really had no need for their services. He told me I could continue to use it for the balance of the trial period and that my card would not be charged any further. Unfortunately, either he lied or their system messed up. My MasterCard was billed $60.48(Canadian) 5 days. I have just spoken to a man, "Ruben", at their C/S # who states they have no record of my original contact with the company and thus the subscription fee stands. When I asked to speak to a supervisor this Ruben claims he is the supervisor. I am now left with having to go to the state's licensing department to file a claim and also to try and have my MasterCard account follow up and get my account refunded.

This is an offshore rip off company. They suck you in with a $1.99 trial. Then when using the site, you are asked if you want a full report. It does not say there are additional charges over the trial. WHEN I CALLED TO COMPLAIN, YOU CAN TELL IT IS AN OFFSHORE PERSON.! NO REFUND OFFERED. RIP OFF CITY. DO NOT USE!

Why monthly fee taken out of my account at 1:24 am in the morning, but yet the office is closed. I got the $. 99 cent special, to look up my own name. I cancelled this RIGHT AFTERWARDS found what I wanted. I CANCELLED THIS SERVICE ---- WHY AM I BEING CHARGED? PLEASE RETURN MY MONEY IN MY ACCOUNT. I have asked repeatedly, followed their opt out and they still have my profile on the site. This is the only site that will not remove my personal information for security reasons
The site went above and beyond our expectations; the quality of their background checks is superior, identifying potential background check important detail that other site that I used missed.
Scam of the first order. They charge you for items that you decline and will not let you get your first $1.00 profile unless you opt for some monthly costs. Stay away.

The information we were given was exactly what we needed. From what I have experienced, it has been useful, and they were easy to work with. It's super easy to use and it's more than what we have.
The information isn't accurate, and after you give them the $1.00 and you try to cancel your account they won't let you until after the trial period. So they can charge you the $44.85 THEY SUCK!

I signed up for the trial for checkthem.com... trial was for $1 for one week i think. I attempted to cancel the trial 4 days prior to it ending. Low and behold! I get a $40.36 deduction from my banking account at 11:09 pm. and of course even if i wanted to call their customer service to do something about it that night, they would have been closed, so i called the next morning. The jerk off proceeded to tell me that he wouldnt refund me at all, even tho there was no activity on the account in the past several days... i told him that i had agreements with my bank that would hold up stronger than his agreement that i signed for a trial service... thats when he decided to ask me how much money I actually wanted refunded. I told him i wanted it all back! I told him that i work in customer service, and the proper thing to tell a customer is that you will give them a full refund! He then proceeded to tell me that it will take up to 35 business days to get the refund back into my account! What a f-ing joke!
