Placed an order for an amplifier from China Hifi Audio with £220 express delivery charge that they claim takes between 3 and 7 days to arrive after placing the order according to their website.
The order was placed November 22nd and wasn't despatched until December 2nd: 10 days later. They use UPS, which are a nightmare (check online reviews). With a lot of stress, and phonecalls and emails to UPS and the seller, the amp finally arrived today, 17 days later.
I didn't find the seller very helpful i this process. It was a struggle to get replies to my initial emails, so I opened a Paypal case. They made excuses about the delays - Christmas, non-payment of customs fees etc, neither of which were true. I've since been reading the same accounts from other customers online from as far back as August 2013 and March 2021, of customers paying for express shipping and their orders were not arriving, in some cases after weeks of waiting, or arriving in a defective state.
Tip for consumers:
Check online reviews and commentary about China Hifi Audio going back as far as 2013 and 2021. They are describing exactly the same problems of customers being charged for express delivery when orders are not being shipped in any way that could be described as fast.
