I signed up to a plan with Choice Home Warranty to cover all major appliances, including my air conditioner with an effective start date of coverage on October 13,2023. On that day, my air conditioner compressor failed, causing electrical interference on other appliances. I was relieved knowing I had recently signed up with Choice Home Warranty, only to find out that my air conditioner wasn't covered because they claimed it entered the plan with a preexisting issue. The unit worked fine on the morning of October 13,2023, so I was perplexed with what they told me regarding my claim. I would strongly urge anyone reading this review to not do business with Choice Home Warranty, as they have no intention of paying for appliance failure. They're a scam and shady company. If you enter into a contract with them, rest assured you WILL NOT have coverage on a claim. I give them ZERO stars! DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!
I engaged with Choice Home Warranty four months ago, I submitted my first claim for my garage door opener on the 14th of August 2024. I initially submitted the claim through customer service and was informed that they would locate a technician for the job. Shortly thereafter they informed me I could use my own vendor and get a reimbursement, but the vendor would have to submit a diagnosis of the problem and a quote for work before they could approve the project. My vendor never contacted CHW with the required info so I located another vendor and had them do the work. When I tried to submit the receipt for the project to CHW they assigned a "Case Manager" to me whose sole purpose was to inform me that they denied my claim because I used a company that was not approved by CHW. It's obvious to me that their business model is to maximize the number of customers with inflated or fake reviews and the use of sales people to contact potential customers and convince them to use the service. The "Case Manager" was even able to cancel my policy and when I reengaged with her to appeal her decision she informed me that I was no longer a customer and could not appeal. Choice Home Warranty is a total scam. Buyers beware
As my warranty with choice home warranty was coming up to the renewal time they began calling and emailing trying to get me to purchase another year warranty. I advised them that I had sold the house and yet they continued to call and email. There were daily calls even after I requested that they stopped contacting me.

I have a issue with how they speak down to their customers. I have a broken dishwasher and they offered me 240.00 to replace it. They said they give the wholesale cost amount. No installation you have to cover that and the rest of the cost of the product. I'm disgusted by them. Paying a monthly fee then the 85.00 for someone to come out to diagnose it. They can't replace my dishwasher? I will never use them ever again. I feel like I am being scammed put of money. Don't sign up with them. You will regret it. They also have class action lawsuits against them. Steer clear!

I had my oven broken down 5 times and they never blessed changed it. It is the same defect in the 5 times. Each time I pay for the fee and they fix it, after they leave, it break down again.
According to their contractor, they can not source the right part as it is not available in the market.
Note; each time it took them average of 4 weeks to get it fixed. I am without Oven most of the year.
RUN AWAY
Another scenario where the AC part is listed as covered, when it broke, they have covered the part cost but the fee of the non-covered service was over $1500. I paid that amount to reconnect / replace the covered part and reroute PVC pipe to the drain ( less than 2 feet or so). Which in my opinion I should dont have paid anything, as they should cover all replacement cost. SINCE it is a covered part

Been waiting for a call to see when someone will Come out to fix my freezer. They can't give me any date, due to can't find anyone who will do it. Why is that Choice? They want me to find someone then send them the bill. That is not what I paid for.

Of you are thinking of paying this company for home insurance, don't. I've been paying my monthly fee for a year now. I've initiated my first claim with them, and the result has been subpar. They wrote that they were "replacing" my dryer and offered me 335 dollars for a NEW dryer only redeemable in the form of a Lowe's gift card. I contested the amount and got "sorry, your unit is ineligible for a greater amount". The cheapest dryer at Lowe's is 538 dollars. So, effectively I will be negative 200 plus dollars. This company is a sham.

The contract reads "We are responsible for installing replacement equipment of similar features, capacity, and efficiency, but not for matching dimensions, brand or color." They did NOT replace my furnace with this in mind. The old furnace had a 2-stage burner and a variable speed fan motor. They replaced it with a unit that is a single-stage burner and has a single speed fan motor. The only thing that is close to matching is the efficiency, we had a 96% and they replaced it with a 95%. On top of all of that, it took them 11 days in the middle of winter to get it replaced.

They are one of the worst home warranties we've used. They denied our water faucet repair stating that the hose bib is "located outside of the main confines of the home." The hose bib was there when the builder built the house. Clearly it is inside the foundation. When I requested for a refund, CHW kept $50 for cancelation fee and two months when we only had one month of service. Don't sign up with Choice Home Warranty. They are horrible.

This is by far the worst company that I have ever dealt with. I received a very unprofessional and unhelpful call from Brittney (a case manager) for a claim that I submitted for my broken appliance. They sent an email saying good news we will cover the fees, click here to approve the amount. ONLY 5% of the retail price. Then when we're on the phone "Brittney" puts me on hold for about 15 minutes and comes back with "the best we can do is 10%"... CHW is running a scam! If your AC or something expensive breaks good luck because you will most likely get pennies. If you ever see a good review about CHW then it's a paid affiliate earning commissions by sending new customers but don't fall for the false claims.

The movie "Rain Man" depicts an insurance company that collects premiums and "like a bad slot machine, never pays off". Choice Home Warranty's motto should be "No need to worry, it's not covered".
They were perfectly content with letting me wait three weeks for "their supplier's"part to come in for my stove. In the meantime, eat out or nuke it, I guess. The guy they sent to fix the HVAC answered the phone "D____'s Hauling & Maintenance. And, of course, it wasn't covered. I have more... Want to throw $500 in the toilet? Contract with Choice Home Warranty. Careful though! You backed up toilet won't be covered.

CHW will find any reason they can not to pay for repairs. They are scam artists and will send the worst technicians they can find in your area. Literally complete and total waste of your hard earned money. Trying to cancel service is a total joke too and they will try to entice you with more lies so you will keep paying. I should of looked on this site before signing up for multi year home warranty with choice home warranty - live and learn. Ive experienced all the negative reviews with them, including boatload if excuses, no technicians to take claim, no dispatch, disapproving my claims and on and on. From the start was disappointed with Choice because techs where always two weeks out. Microwave went out tech said that he wasn't sure if Choice would fix or replace due to age. Choice decided to replace microwave. First my Choice was taken away where to buy new microwave due to Lowes card being mailed. When card did not arrive after 30 days I called customer service which is the worse. Answers I received in order stated, call back in a week, give it one more week, we mailed the card out it is coming and we will mail another card in 30 day. I do not believe Choice has any intention of mailing card out. I did find out Arizona GA is suing Choic for fraud because service not rendered and after policy was canceled money continued to be withdrawn from customer account. Do no use Choice Home Warranty.

They are 100% a scam. My wolf microwave broke, and they told me to go back to Wolf for the warranty. The tech. That came out had no idea what he was talking about. I had to have wolf verify the tech was incorrect in his determination. My next conversation with the case manager she mentioned that my microwave is $2,000 and she is not going to pay out on that size claim. Obviously, it matters to the case manager how much they pay out. There is also no body to complain to other than case managers. According to the company they are the highest-level employee in the company.
There is no reason to have one of these policies if they are just going to make excuses to not cover anything.

CHW is terrible! It's takes over a week to get a technician scheduled. Then they will find any reason to not cover the repairs/replacements… I had a leak a month ago and guess what? I still have the same leak now! After waiting a month they finally advise they won't cover the replacement for my AC unit which is leaking…save your money and stay away from this useless, no good, bad business company! I will be canceling my useless policy asap!

We had 2 appliances break. One they couldn't fix, but didn't let us know for 3 months. It is a Bosch oven. We had it fixed for $564, but they would only reimburse $333. The other was a Samsung Refrigerator...same 3 months to fix. The company is HORRIBLE. They scheduled with us twice, had us empty the refrigerator twice, and didn't show. The first company they hired, took our deposit and didn't come back, b/c he said that Choice Home Warranty didn't pay him. That caused another month delay!

Worst experience ever! After a month of leaking toilet and 3 technicians to asses the issue, finally a professional plumber identified the issue and we made an appointment to fix it. The day of the appointment it was cancelled by a technician as he hadn't been paid by the company for the initial visit that was 2 weeks ago! I called the company and they told me that they are sorry but they will try to send me somebody else…. Really? I will have to wait again for a week so that somebody would pick up the work? They were very quick to take my money but are not paying their contractors? I haven't been able to use my downstairs bathroom for over a month and who knows when it will be fixed…. Purchased contract in 2021. On Sept 12th I filed a claim for plumbing, and as of Oct 10th I'm still waiting even after numerous calls. The last call to resolutions department the agent got upset and was very rude because I wanted to cancel the contract and hung up on me. Contract canceled!

I am so upset with this company, we have made 2 claims and both are big items hot water and AC both denied. This company is a joke and a rip off! This company uses its sleazy spammer "affiliates" to flood my inbox with dozens of home warranty spam emails per day. No legitimate company needs to use this type of advertising. And even if they were legitimate, there is no way I would ever use the services of a company that resorts to this level of harassment.

I have had a Choice warranty for several months and last week I called for service. My appointments have been cancelled without notice 3 times now. I called last week and asked to speak to a manager - I was told I can't speak to one but they will 'email' a manager and they will call in 24 hours - no one ever called. Service is abysmal. They work hard to sell you a policy but never deliver. I am in Colorado. They provide a telephone # for the tech who is scheduled but the phone is never answered and messages are never returned. Stay away from this company!

This conversation would best be handled verbally.But they do not want the facts. We have been turned down for two claims with CHW. We had no electricity as of 7:00 pm last night. The circuit breaker box shorted out and you could smell electricity burn in the basement. We called last night to submit a claim, claim number *******. We did not hear from anyone this morning. We called a local electrician and they were here within 30 minutes. The circuit box and several breakers needed to be replaced. This was done immediately by KG electric. Now your company is denying us for not using their technicians and for not getting a prior authorization or the work. We did not get the email until 12:51 that the electrician needed to call before the job was complete. At that time the job was complete.

I submitted a claim for AC after it had been running longer than normal, and the temp wasn't changing much. Only one degree cooler overnight. In Georgia. In summer. Two days went by without any appointment, the end of the 3rd day I got an appointment FOR 10 DAYS LATER! So I asked if I had to run it 24/7 for 10 more days, and they said if we tried to check with another vendor, we'd "have to start the process all over again.". Unacceptable, and incredibly inefficient process. Why not reach out to local vendors, and WHEN you get availability dates, THEN secure the earliest appointment? I have called again, and was told the technician would call me... it's been two more days, and no one has reached out. I will NOT be renewing.
