Really just adding to the earlier reviews, this is a huge and varied resource on the subject of food in all its forms, not just a local restaurant review or recipe guide - though it's those things, too. I came there for some information on cooking outdoors and in a vehicle, and wasn't disappointed. Sites like Yelp may compete in some areas, but this one is broad enough and regarded as honest enough, to meet many more needs. Recommended.
A friend and I applied at chowhound but never got and Interview notice, they saw their hiring but they never contacted us!
I have shopped at Chow Hound in Grand Haven for a couple of years. Many times I leave empty handed due to out of stock. Most recently I needed to purchase dog food. Again they were out of stock, but offered to special order what I needed. My first thought was great, then I was told it would take a week. So I went to Chewy for significant savings and received the items the next day.

Chowhound catered our wedding and it was the best decision we made for our night. The staff was incredible and worked seamlessly to make everything perfect and we got so many compliments from our guests and how friendly and professional all of the servers were.
But, the highlight was the FOOOD! I don't know how John and his staff do it. Our venue did not have an onsite kitchen, so we were nervous about the quality of dinner being compromised - somehow it was even better than on our private tasting day. Every single guest plate was plated beautifully and tasted perfect, which we know because I think every single guest told us how amazing their dinner was.
We highly recommend the tomato bisque for any occasion, truly was the highlight of our dinner and by far the best bisque/soup we have ever had.
Thank you to the entire Chowhound Team!
We were looking for a restaurant when we stumbled upon the Chow Hound. We tried the pizza and it was delicious. The pricing was reasonable, and the staff was pleasant. I highly suggest this restaurant to anyone searching for a place to dine when there isn't much else nearby.
Now that everyone knows that Yelp is a totally fake site with fake reviews and business are finally suing yelp, I have been using Chowhound to find the best places to eat. Very solid reviews and the people on the site are real and not plants by business owners and competitors. Just real reviews by real people... unlike yelp. Yelp's new tag line should be fake reviews by fake people.
Much better than lame YELP website. Yelp has become overrun with fake reviews and now businesses are doing a class action lawsuit against yelp for all of the extortion yelp does to make money. Chowhound is a much better place to go. Great reviews and a better community for real foodies as opposed to the yelpers who just want to write for the sake of people reading their reviews.
Highly recommended website for some great food related blogs and recipes. This website is so knowledgable and informative. Beautiful photographs and healthy food recipes. Really like this page. Satisfied with the service.
This site is pretty much a site where people can go to get a review or suggestion for the best Restaurants & Bars in a certain area. I have yet to use this site but will be putting it in my bookmarks just in case I ever go out to eat again I can see what people think about the Restaurants & Bars in my area before making a choice.
Surprisingly good, Super quick service, We were there during the supper rush and had our plates within 5 minutes. Great family environment and friendly staff.
Started train myself to cook from scratch. Despite the fact that their photos make me hungry all the time I find this resource very helpful for beginners like me.
This site is a great way to find out how locals view the food scene of a place you are visiting. I recently visited Toronto, and a little time spent on Chowhound helped me find some great bakeries.
I always try to follow their simple recipes in my free time. They sometimes turns out very great. They have lots of easy recipes to follow on their page.
Useful Forum for Foodies - Chowhound is very useful for finding advice from local foodies on specific restaurants. The restaurant search functionality is acceptable (e.g., you can enter a city name in the search box and find all references to that search term). However, the site would be even more user-friendly, and it would be easier and quicker to find restaurants, if the content was organized in more detail, or in a more logical fashion.
Here's an oblique analogy: I see Yahoo as a "Table of Contents," whereas Google is an "Index." Most often, I search using Google because I find it easier to search for specific words in an Index, rather than browsing through a Table of Contents. Chowhound's search functionality is index-based, which similar to Google, rather than Yahoo. Having said that, when I search for restaurants, I would prefer to look through a Table of Contents. For example, I would prefer to browse through a category of "Restaurants in San Jose - Average cost per meal under $15" (a la Table of Contents) rather than digging through a list of numerous results when I enter the search term "San Jose." Bottom Line: I wish that Chowhound's search was more like Yahoo, rather than Google -- given the nature of local restaurant search.
Overall website is very good specially the graphics and loading time is very good.

One of my favorite blogs about food and cooking. A lot of simple recipes that are really easy to cook but still it tastes like heaven!
I have little free time, so I'm glad I can find easy and delicious recipes in this blog. My friends are also delighted.
So many new receips on the website. Recommended recource for all cooks and everybody who likes to experiment with the food
The menu is very short with the main course. They were tasteless. Mushrooms were not properly cooked. It is expensive too.
