“Its name is deceptive ITS NOT CHRISTIAN DATING!”

Jack C.
8/18/21

Zero activity level. I chose J4Dating.com -I'm getting a lot of contacts there and enjoying my communication with beautiful ladies. Now I'm at the point of making a big and important decision, following my heart and choosing my One and Only woman. So my experience with ChristianMingle was very poor. I'm an average-looking 43 year old man with good income. I sent 80 letters and got 1(!) response. If you value your time and have some self-respect, just use a bigger and more popular dating site and search for a Christian woman there. Christianmingle is not a true dating site. It's a big scam. Don't believe its name! It's a typical scam site, a giant and evil money-making machine with mostly fake profiles and catfishers.

“A Brutally Honest Review of a Disappointing Faith-Based Dating Site”

Jennifer R.
5/8/24

I'm writing this review for a family member who typically doesn't leave feedback but felt compelled to after his dismal experience with Christian Mingle. He signed up for a six-month subscription expecting matches aligned with his faith values. Instead, he encountered a random matching process, including a trans woman as a match and noticing unmarried pregnant women on the site, which he found wholly inappropriate for a Christian platform. Simply put, this site is trash!

The profiles I get are hundreds of miles away and the majority of them have no pictures and most of them are in there 30's trying to connect with 45 to 70-year men
It sounds wrong!

There are really only two things you want and need to do on a dating site, communicate and see pictures. This site is horrible for both. The email system is the worst I have ever seen. If you get an email, you have to click off the site and back on to read it, you can't open it up while you are on the site. It also has a problem where if you are writing one person an email and you want to write another person, it will keep the picture of the first person you were writing up so you get confused as to who you are actually writing. To look at pictures you have to have a mouse to scroll up and down, there is no other way so if you are wanting to look at pictures on your phone you can't. The pictures also are cropped off at the top automatically but you have no way of knowing it. So people looking at your main picture can only see from your neck down on your main picture. You also get a scammer every few hours, some young hot person and its a fake picture. So you constantly get notices that you have mail only to get on and find it's scammer.

I have had this identical experience twice. In October 2019 I created a Christian Mingle account. I had very little time to Search after filling out all the info they request and so I only Searched for about 10 minutes. Results looked reasonable. Within 2 hrs my account had been TERMINATED. I attempted numerous times to find out why - Christian Mingle would not give me anything other than their Terms of Service document. It is about 10 pages of legal gobbledegook, so you are left with no idea why you were TERMINATED. I had provided accurate, up-to-date info about me so I have no idea what the problem was. And they would not respond to any requests other than to send a link to Terms of Service.

In mid January 2020 I decided to try again. I provided a different eMail address (the first address was REJECTED). I logged on and the Search results were very scant (very few results). I (perhaps foolishly) elected to PAY FOR A SUBSCRIPTION this time. I looked around for about an hour and logged off. About 12 hrs later I get eMails that my account has been TERMINATED doe to a Terms of Service violation. Again I have attempted to find out what the problem was and all I get is a link to their Terms of Service. I also received a notice that a refund has been initiated.

The number of results from my Search was pathetic - only 5 people with no criteria other than a generous age range. So I am probably lucky they kicked me off.

They have certainly perfected a reliable way to run themselves out of business! More power to them, given my experience!

Someone sends you a message and you have to purchase a subscription to respond--only to find that they were just a scammer. Of course you can't get a refund.

Well, after reading many reviews, I don't feel so alone! While there are probably many good intentioned people on this site, for the most part, I found that I got too many out of state people who contacted me - all with the name "Mingler... and a number after it." None of these people had pictures or very much information on the site.

Today I was definitely scammed by someone who posed to be someone he wasn't! I felt very uncomfortable by the text messages that he sent me (my fault for giving him my cell phone #!), and when I spoke with him, he had a very thick accent and was hard to understand. He hung up when I told him that I was uncomfortable with his text messages and our phone conversation. I felt so violated that I was taken in by someone who looked like a nice man - only to find out that it was someone who was trying to scam women.

I deleted my profile and have a no intention to return. The administrators on this site have to do a better job of screening its members. The site doesn't live up to its name of being very Christian when they do little to protect their members!

This has been my worst experience with online dating. I signed up on an impulse two days ago and saw that there was almost no one in my area (and most that were around hadn't been on in months) I asked myself: wait, why did I just pay fifty bucks a month for this? Fifty bucks a month? That's a ridiculous price for what you get (you don't get much - there is very little you can do regarding your profile and again, few women online). I am about to refund but I know I won't get my money back (their terms and conditions, written here: https://about.christianmingle.com/en/legal-en/#privacypolicy make it very clear). That's terrible customer service and a bad way to run a dating platform. They should have a grace period of a couple days at least where you can get a refund, or at least a partial refund.

This website meets the definition of being a scam. It's the crappiest online dating experience I have had yet (and I have tried half a dozen sites and apps). Spread the word: ChristianMingle is complete garbage.

The problem I had with this site is that it doesn't tell you upfront that you have to pay to see "replies" or "who flirted with you". The surprise is at the end, after you've gone all through the questions, uploaded your photo, describe yourself, etc., then when someone responds to you, in order to see who responded to you, read their email, etc. you get the webpage showing the membership costs you have to pay for in order to see those inquiries to your profile.

I might have missed it in the commercial on TV, maybe they should have stated that ONLY signing up is free and "several payment options available to use the sight" or similar.

A little bit of me being naïve enough to realize nothing in life is free, and a little of Christian Mingle not being totally UPFRONT and stating from the get go that you have to pay to see replies after you've signed up.

Oh well, searched the net, plenty of TOTALLY free dating websites out there. And yes, they state "totally free, no credit card needed, ever" right at the beginning of uploading your info.

Live and learn.

All dating sites are fake, they don't care, and the ones they say are Christian, are not they are fake, they are wicked, behind closed doors they are Satan worshipers deciving, true Christian people out of money they don't have, they should be letting people talk for free, period, first thing is first all profiles are fake, second when you, wantl, eave your phone number, they always have a excuse why they can't they would rather stay on the site so they can keep ripping you off, if a person was really interested to get to know you better, they would ask for your phone number to talk private with you, all dating sites need to be banned and the demons who created them need to be imprisoned for 4000 years no paroll!

WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!

I have had the WORST online dating experience on this "Christian" site. I would NOT wish this experience on anyone else going forward that's why I'm taking my time to write this review. I joined Christianmingle.com for about a week, i had posted a couple of photos and they all got approved and verified. My profile was set and legit. I began chatting with a few gentlemen but upon login out I couldn't login. I desperately contacted the Christian mingle team via email and got a response from a certain Karol Kowalski.

This individual explained to me politely and i quote: "my account was flagged as possibly fraudulent and that in an effort to protect my security and privacy they have suspended my profile". This individual further stated that they'll be needing my account details (full names, display name, date of birth, present location and email address) to verify my authenticity. I was willing to even make a video call to confirm i am real, and i exist so i provided every detail they asked. In a separate reply this individual further asked for a photo of my National Identity card. You can imagine how invasive this information is, but i really just wanted to login to delete my pictures and deactivate my account personally, so i complied.

At this point it finally dawned on me what was going on, Christian mingle team had no plans of releasing my account. In fact, they were NEVER going to release my account at all.

This was all a scheme, they secure accounts of legitimately existing people, take over the accounts running them to scheme money off innocent people.

PLEASE I BESEECH you, do not fall for this trap. My account is now stuck in this site probably scheming off someone from a 1st world country or who knows who.

If you're planning to join this site, DON'T. Kindly, LEARN FROM ME. You will meet the love of your life on a more legitimate setting.

Take care and God bless!

The person who owns the site is definately not a Christian probably an atheist because they are taking money from good people. I was on thus site 3 days and on the 1st day 2 woman from USA sent me a smile which immediately i thought odd as I live in the UK and put on my profile that I only wanted to be contacted by UK matches. However as a test I tried reply to the 2 woman from the USA and then was asked to subscribe to a paid membership, which by then the alarm bells had come on! And of the UK profiles they are the same photos coming up daily and none of them are ever online and most have not been online for weeks and even months! And lastly today they had a photo of a woman from the USA and she was the profile of the day.Well that was the final straw because honestly if you seen the photo it was definitely not real and looked like a mannequin with a pile of make up on lol! Luckily I'm not that stupid to sign up so BE WARNED good Christian people, I am telling you this because I am a Christian and so whoever owns this site might be scamming loads of money out of the public but they won't have any luck with it, God is not sleeping!

The BBB gave the site an F rating. Please look up. The website would not let me terminate my membership and kept putting me in a loop. It's almost impossible(or impossible) to get a hold of an administrator when you need help. It turned out to be a nightmare. Actually more than that, I consistently ran into men who were wolves in sheep's clothing. I'm amazed men are willing to spend money to go on a Christian dating site to hunt Christians so to speak. I ended up being totally traumatized by men who seemed more like they should be on another dating site looking for sex. A free one at that but chose to pay money to be on Christian Mingle to meet women who want godly marriages. The bible says if the devil can disguise himself as an angel of light why can't his workers. I paid for a 6 month subscription but had my bank block Christian Mingle from taking out any automated renewals fees. I couldn't get into the settings on Christian Mingle to delete my credit information in addition to terminating my account. It kept me going in circles trying to get in. My advice is to try a safer site like EHarmony or a Christian Match maker ( if that even exists) Always pray first that God would lead you in the right direction. Their is also a prayer on-line about praying against counterfeit spouses for Christians. Just look up prayers against counterfeits. I read this prayer at least 5 times one day. The next time I did a telephone video with this man I met on CM his true intentions came out. He wanted sex and his Christian walk was weak or non-existent but he came across as a sincere man of God in his profile. I'm glad that prayer helped nip it in the bud. Both Christian men and women really need to be careful going on these sites. Be wise as a snake and innocent as a dove. God Bless.

There's a reason why Christian Mingle has such a horribly low rating. The website is a total ripoff, especially for the amount of money they charge for a paid membership! I paid $49 + tax for a 1 month membership. There are so many catfish on Christian Mingle that you'll think you're at the Cajun Catfish Buffet in Louisiana. I have a theory that CM creates fake profiles of very attractive people themselves, and sends you smiles while you're a free member just to make you think that "person" is interested in you so that you'll pay the fee to become a paid member, and then these crooks delete the fake profile after they've gotten your money. This is almost EXACTLY what happened to me. I had a very attractive woman that had two photos on her profile send me a smile (you can send a "smile" for free). I did a Google and Bing image search of her photos and neither search engine showed any signs that those photos were being used on another site. So, I paid the ripoff $50 membership fee for a 1 month membership and sent this woman a message introducing myself. Well, 2 days go by and "she" doesn't log in. Finally, on the 3rd day, I went to her profile to see if she logged in yet and, lo and behold, the profile page is still visible, but both of her photos are gone and all her information was deleted! Total scam! If you think that's an isolated incident, think again. I messaged another "woman" who only had one photo on her profile. Did an image search and the search engines didn't show her photo being used on any other websites. So far, so good. I sent her a nice message. She replied without answering ANY of the questions in my message and just said "I am new to this website. If you do not mind talking on WhatsApp. *******635". Well, I created a new contact in WhatsApp with her phone number, and what do ya know, her WhatsApp profile doesn't even show a photo. In fact, it shows a storefront icon instead of a person icon leading me to believe that it's a fake number for a fake business. Christian Mingle is a complete joke! Do yourself a favor and spend your money at a dating site that has much better reviews. Trust me, you'll thank me later! Oh, and I uploaded photos to show you proof.

I've subscribed to several of the top rated dating sites, and CM was listed on everybody's top 10 sites.
Well, needless to say, I was very disappointed.
I asked for a full refund after the 1st weekend of joining, because there were only a handful of members with photos, but hundred or thousands of anonymous users with zero pics. They all had the same user name beginning with mingler_*****, or a series of letters and numbers after the mingler identification.
They were scattered throughout the U.S., and most would send me a smile while I was online. I was getting fed up with these constant inbox messages, which were simply phishing ploys to extort $$ from other legitimate members. I sent them an email about the info, but all I got was a response apologizing for my bad experience.
I would bet that these phishes are able to join without a membership fee, and help bolster their membership numbers too. If they were a professional and actual Christian caring site, they would take measures to correct this problem. I would also bet that most subscribers don't renew, and another problem is with the cancellation of their auto-renewel process. After trying multiple times to follow the online "Stop Subscription", I not only failed to accomplish the task, there wasn't even a tab visible to tap for that process. What a joke, what a scam, what a Total ripoff!
