“Its name is deceptive ITS NOT CHRISTIAN DATING!”

Jack C.
8/18/21

Zero activity level. I chose J4Dating.com -I'm getting a lot of contacts there and enjoying my communication with beautiful ladies. Now I'm at the point of making a big and important decision, following my heart and choosing my One and Only woman. So my experience with ChristianMingle was very poor. I'm an average-looking 43 year old man with good income. I sent 80 letters and got 1(!) response. If you value your time and have some self-respect, just use a bigger and more popular dating site and search for a Christian woman there. Christianmingle is not a true dating site. It's a big scam. Don't believe its name! It's a typical scam site, a giant and evil money-making machine with mostly fake profiles and catfishers.

“A Brutally Honest Review of a Disappointing Faith-Based Dating Site”

Jennifer R.
5/8/24

I'm writing this review for a family member who typically doesn't leave feedback but felt compelled to after his dismal experience with Christian Mingle. He signed up for a six-month subscription expecting matches aligned with his faith values. Instead, he encountered a random matching process, including a trans woman as a match and noticing unmarried pregnant women on the site, which he found wholly inappropriate for a Christian platform. Simply put, this site is trash!

Asked for money to join with 8 members near me. This site is bogus. Their approval of pictures takes too long. Just another fake website

I was a 35 year old virgin, and not the stereotype. Won "best looking" in HS, captain of the college swim team, working at NASA (seriously)… but my childhood girlfriend (later fiancé) wanted to wait till marriage, and so i hadn't had much choice as i loved her. When she was pregnant 5 months before the wedding, i was stranded a virgin for YEARS. Absolutely no girl would date me after she found that out. Many got violent, even. But constant offers to hookup, which i declined. I wasn't a toy. And after all that i'd been through… it seemed a gift someone would value. My ace in the hole. Wrong.

Finally i met a girl on christian mingle. A church worship leader. Gorgeous, divorced, no kids, and didn't mind that i hadn't been with anyone. Perfect. 7 months we dated and i'd already called home for the box of jewelry that tradition held I should design her ring from. After 7 months we finally slept together. She'd convinced me she wasn't going to do what i feared most. A hit and run after years of turning down hookups.

Sure enough, the next morning as I drove home, she texted me and dumped me. She was at her fiancé‘s apartment already. Turned out she was engaged, but had"f*** a virgin" on her bucket list, and I was just the cutest one she'd ever met. She threaten the police if I ever returned. I wentto the police myself and reported "rape by coercion", a thing in texas where typically a boy promises a girl marriage and rainbows, has sex with her, then dumps her in the side of the road. No different here. But…they laughed at me and kicked me out the pricinct. I went home and hung myself. Unsuccessfully, obviously. But, there's always next time.

*photos show the profile, and the church program i found online later with her real last name, showing her and her dude at a whole other church

When I sign up for Christian Mingle after a couple of minutes, I checked my profile picture it stated my picture was pending review, the next morning I checked, and my picture was still pending review. I loge out and tried to loge back on the site but I could not loge back in it kept saying Authentication failed so I emailed Christian Mingle they said that I had been suspended due to suspicion of fraud…I did not do anything Fradley or violate any of their rules. I had not been on that site a full 10 minutes. I DID NOT DO ANYTHING BUT DO MY PROFILE AND ADD MY PICTURES. Christian Mingle lock me out completely. I can't delete my profile or pictures. It's not accepting my email or password. I know I am using the right email and password. I didn't violate any of their rules or anything Fradley. I think it's a scam website and they keep your pictures and profile on the website to make people think there are more people on the site than there is. In the email they emailed me back they ask for your state ID. I am not sending them that. I asked Christian Mingle to please delete my profile.

I am strong Christian woman and had seen many commercials for this website so I thought I would try it. Here is why people should beware and read all the reviews, not just mine, before signing up!
I was only on this website for about 5 days before they were sending me "Alerts" regarding some of the profiles that were posted on the website! Scary! ** These were men that they were warning me about but they still had their profiles uploaded on the website!
I started communicating with 2 men, not the ones they were warning me about. The profiles of these 2 men sounded as though we might have something in common. The first one immediately wanted to meet with me. I said let's talk first. I thought it strange that his profile pic showed him running on the beach but it looked like there was an arm of someone else that was obviously with him, but the body was being blocked out. I continued to text with him, not wanting to judge the pic, alone. We texted back and forth and he sent me 2 more pictures. One showed him with Santa and two elves, but HE WAS WEARING A WEDDING RING! The second picture was showing him with his arms folded and his right hand showing but he blocked out his left hand completely! As a photographer, I could tell it was definitely done purposely by the way he was posed! I asked him when the pics were taken and he said recently! What a scammer!
I had a funny feeling about him but wanted to text and see if my instincts were just me being cautious or if they were legitimate. Well, the Lord is good and is watching over me! Thank you, Jesus!
When I texted him and told him that I saw his ring, he never texted back. Go figure! LOL
Second, another gentleman I was communicating with had a very nice pic and profile. His profile was very articulate. However, after texting with him I realized that he was not articulate at all, and that his texts bordering on being somewhat illiterate. Right away I realized someone else must have written his profile or maybe he copied someone's profile to be his own.
***This website is NOT for the person who is looking for a truthful relationship or for a website that truly vets the profiles, before putting them online! And, they charge you if someone wants to communicate with you and you want to communicate back! If they are going to charge you, what are they using those profits for if not for properly vetting the online profiles!? Not the website for me!
*I prefer not to upload the picture of the person with the wedding ring, although I would like to expose their identity, because I don't want any repercussions!

I have been on ChristianM for 6 weeks. I was contacted by 5-6 men in the first weeks. Red flag, they started right in using words like "intrigued", "knowing you would be my greatest desire", "extra spark in my step" "thought about you all night", "you look charming and stunning and is hardly to get my eyes you" (the actual bad use of English) and "wrap our legs together". They want to go to email immediately and from there they ask for your phone number and more pictures. It seemed at least 3 of them had the same bad grammar, punctuation, and inappropriate use of capital letters. Here is a cut and paste:

"" Greetings to you, Am William by name. I put God first in anything am doing because he has been a wonderful God to me. Your profile intrigues me so much and i wouldnt mind getting to know you more better. I was in minnesota for work i currently live in prescott AZ. I want you to know that age is nothing but a number, distance also doesnt matter in a relationship if there is chemistry. Do you mind if we exchange emails for better conversation so we can stay connected.""
I got this today soI responded I would like to stay connected on the dating site. An hour later his profile is GONE.

One guy was kicked off the site because I reported him, then he came back on with a different name and sent me the same first letter. He should have recognized me because it had only been a couple days. One man could not make a phone date, he simply didn't understand what "I'll call you at 7:10" meant. He called me at a wrong time and he didn't sound Scottish at all, he sounded African.
I looked up scams and learned these scams are organized, even from West Africa.
I am very disappointed right now, even depressed. After weeding out the scammers
I smiled at a few men, but no one is interested. Perhaps they have been scammed, too. I just hope pictures of me aren't out there somewhere with a false profile attached.
I have met a couple who found each other on the CM. They are in their 80's. What would I have to go through for success? I am a Christian, but the DEVIL has infiltrated that site.

You can sign up for free to look around. Beware that if you don't completely fill out your profile immediately then the people on the site may view your partial info then disregard you, meaning once you complete it they won't take a second look. It also takes several days to get any updates you do to your profile from being posted. I understand as it appears it gets reviewed by their staff first.
My biggest complaint was that the iPhone app is somewhat buggy in that it takes you to a subscription page and wants you to sign up to pay for a premium plan that gets charged monthly or on other renewal terms.
After a couple weeks of using the app i get a message and when i view it it says my profile will be deleted which then takes me to the subscription page again in order to retain my profile. (Note they say you can use the free version with no mention of time before profile deletion etc. The paid version gives you more control and options of contacting people etc.)
When you try to LEAVE the subscription page it keep going back. If you press "cancel" it doesn't leave the page. So I tried to close the app and restart it and when it restarted it went back to the screen and said that i successfully ordered my subscription and was billed via iTunes for $30 and that it will renew each month at $30.
Well I did not authorize this! I called their customer service and got the auto renewal canceled but they said I could not cancel the month paid for and gave me an Apple phone number to call to do that. After spending an hour or so doing all this I still am charged for the month I don't want or authorized.

Now getting to the people on the site, I found that most appear fake or non-christian like. For instance, Im 55 and recently divorced after a long marriage. I find that over half of the women 50-55 on the site are looking for a man that is 35-49. Another words they would like a man between 15 and 5 years younger than them. Some say in the bio that they are serious about the age thing and if you are not within that age to respect their wish and move on. Does that seem Christian like at all? I'm sure there are legitimate people on the site as well and some will pay large fees to stay there waiting for their perfect ideal mate to find them but I have had such a bad experience so far that i am not going to have anything more to do with this.

I was scammed on Christian Mingle by a man calling himself Leonard J. Costa. He claimed to live in Milford, Ohio, be a real estate agent, and have a 12 year old son named Willie. After communicating for over a month, he said that he had to go to Ghana to write a contract to receive gold and dismonds left to him by his deceased father. After arriving in Ghana, he texted and asked for money. He said that Willie was very ill in the hospital, that he had fluid around his heart. Leo claimed that he could not get money in Ghana with his Visa, Mastercard, or cash his travelers check. I sent him money by mistake. He than wanted money again for he and his son to fly to the states so Willie could get treatment. I sent money again. They never showed up and the airport. He called me the next day, and claimed that his son had passed away on the plane. He said that they were not allowed into the states and he was back in Ghana. He said that he needed money for the autopsy. I told Leo that I would not send any more money. He than wanted money to pay for Federal Express to send me a check to the states. I did not send any more money. I found Leo's picture on a scam website. He went by 4 different names and had profiles in 3 different languages. He had me send money to Sylvester Zoranu in Accra-Ghana and Narh Jeremiah in Accra-Ghana. He claimed to be half Italian and had a very thick accent. He wrote long e-mails every morning professing his love for me. He was very good at scamming someone. I am sure that he is still doing this. The other names that he has used in Romance scams are Edward Powell, James Harry, and Fatahian Alain.
