Buyer Beware!

We hired this company, Mr Mark Feinberg (owner/Mgr), for an international move from the US to Canada at premium fees in excess of $32,000. Their representative, Don Hott, assured us over and over that our belongings would be treated with care, the 'decades' of experience both he and Certified had in the industry, and that our valuables would arrive to our new home undamaged.

90% of our belongings arrived either completely broken and needing to be replaced or needing repairs. Read that twice! Our belongings arrived, 9 days late, with double tagging on approx 50 boxes, 70+ items unaccounted for and despite showing as being packed on the truck on their inventory reconciliation sheet, everything we had on our patio and in our backyard - a huge BBQ, patio furniture, tools, gardening equipment, etc... completely missing! Whoa! Sorting that out alone has been a nightmare! After management insinuated that we were not being truthful about not receiving our patio/backyard goods (which was confirmed to management by the local company who off-loaded our belongings), it was all 'found' several weeks later in some warehouse back at Certified's shop, unmarked as ours!

During the packing, several 'fully trained' staff were in attendance in our home. It was obvious from the beginning that half of them had no clue what they were doing. My husband and I did our best to mitigate damage but with a three-level home and workers in every room, it was tough. They threw their supplies on top of fine wood furniture, scratched the floors so badly during pack up that it all had to be refinished, half of them left after 4 hours each day leaving a huge overwhelming job to the dedicated 3 who stayed.

One woman, named Samantha, who was sent on the second day as an 'expert', packed up our full kitchen, my office, equipment and supplies and our great room... WITHOUT PAPER... we subsequently found when it all arrived! The stress of this nightmare has been horrific. Imagine the scratches and damage sustained to our belongings! (eg. - one of hundreds - a $650 pair of eyeglasses, not in their case dumped unwrapped in the bottom of a box and office equipment dumped on top!) They all dumped very valuable items in with heavy, jagged items, and no wrapping or protection, thus causing a plethora of unnecessary damage to the entire contents. No one seemed to know the value of anything they were handling nor how to pack it to protect it! My expensive dress shoes, most in new or like-new condition, were dumped in the bottom of a box with ladders and luggage and other heavy metal equipment dumped on top of them, crushing them all. This in spite of the packer being asked specifically to wrap them separately. The manager/owner's response, 'oh, just wear those shoes for awhile, they'll be fine!' or 'oh, just put a cushion on your crushed and broken $1000 patio lounger. No one will see the damage!' Unbelievable!

Expensive Stainless steel pots and pans, cutlery, knives, kitchen ware, office equipment, professional reference library (1000's of valuable books all in pristine shape to begin with!), personal items... everything just dumped into boxes, without paper or padding and taped up! Fine solid wood furniture, Italian leather living room furniture, grand piano, solid stainless steel prep tables, all which looked new, all now with scratches, gouges, torn, crushed... you name it!

Unbelievable disrespect and disdain was shown for our valuables! We will never recover from all the damage. Once pristine items we spent our lifetime protecting... now are either garbage or look like garbage.

We took hundreds of pictures and sent many to Mr. Mark Feinberg... he denied that any of it was wrong, inappropriate and even denied any responsibility for the damages! And Don Hott... refused to speak with us! Whoa!

We've asked for a refund. We've been denied. Told we could make a claim. They pay. 60 cents per item per pound. Do the numbers. That would equal about $400 for a completely destroyed grand piano!

BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT HIRE THIS ORGANIZATION FOR YOUR PACKING, STORAGE AND MOVING NEEDS. THIS ORGANIZATION IS WITHOUT INTEGRITY, UNETHICAL, DO NOT HAVE STAFF WHO ARE TRAINED OR WHO WILL CARE FOR YOUR VALUABLES AND THEY WILL NEVER TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE DAMAGES CAUSED BY THEIR NEGLIGENCE. THIS ORGANIZATION IS A DISGRACE TO THEIR INDUSTRY AND HAVE NO RIGHT EVEN BEING IN IT.
