Hypermiling website that provides tips to double your gas mileage! - Wayne Gerdes, who leads the current hypermiling movement to curb fuel consumption, started and runs this website with lots of tips on how to save gas. Some of the techniques, however, are not for the feint of heart. Wayne is able to get up to 50 mpg on his Honda Accord, but it involves stuff like shutting down your engine on the freeway and coasting at low speeds!
The site also has a lot of practical content, as well as a loyal and active community of fellow "environmentalists" (read: people tired of paying $4.50 for a gallon of gas).
I posted a testimonial on this site under a post asking if anyone has had any luck with fuel additives. Yes, I am a distributor for a product, and I have seen a major improvement in my fuel economy.
I got two quick post replies from the site admin people stating that I am talking BS. They BANNED ME from the site for posting my testimonial. I used my product name in my user name... i did not know that was a crime.
I created another account, logged back in to apology to the boys. Only to get a equally harsh email reply telling me I am gone and they should have slammed the door harder. I am new to posting anything anywhere. I did read the rules of engagement to participate on their site and nowhere did it say NO PRODUCT ENDORSEMENT OR SALES. The prior post before me mentions using Chevrons Techron... I guess it is ok to continue to support corporate America but not a small time distributor that has a product and testimony that works and is true.
