I received the kit within a week of my doctor ordering it. It was very easy to use and the instructions put in simple terms. It was also easy to return the sample.
ColoGuard is a scam. Sounds great: you send a stool sample in a cup vs. undergoing a more intensive colonoscopy. The problem is that ColoGuard isn't accurate. Another problem is that many insurance companies will not allow subscribers to get another test the same year or even up to a 10-year period if they have had a ColorGuard test. Skip this test, get a real colonoscopy and take care of your health. This is just a scam to help insurance companies keep more $ from premiums: it's an excuse for insurance companies not to cover colonoscopies. The fact that ColoGuard doesn't provide any helpful data (e.g., if proteins or blood is found) demonstrates this is not a serious test. I won't be surprised if there is a class action lawsuit in the future for ColoGuard. For now, whoever cooked up this scheme is laughing all the way to the bank. And don't believe their nonsense that a colonoscopy is covered after a positive ColoGuard test result--it's not true. You are basically giving up your right to a covered colonoscopy (normally a wellness benefit that is 100% covered) by getting this ridiculous test that is often inaccurate and doesn't provide any health info whatsoever.
The the biggest insurance scam in the world doctors make a whopping killing on this business they billed my insurance company over $700. The biggest scam I gave them five stars because if you give them one story readers will never ever see it they know how to move things around
Tip for consumers:
They're a bunch of liars scammers they'll do anything to get the box back they'll even come to your house and knock on your door as long as they can get this $#*! in the Box and have you run around like a chicken with your head cut off so they can build the insurance company that's all they care about not about the results if you notice I never use the word results they don't care about the results the results don't mean nothing it's about getting the $#*! in the Box getting the box back to them

I ended up using the Box that comes to your house and you put your your stool inside of it and then after all the phone calls and after all the emails and after all the text messages and after all the bull$#*! and after all calling numbers and giving them routing number from UPS and after all the bull crap that they put you through after the nightmare they put you through it was all a scam just so they can collect $700 for Medicaid that was the whole thing about the money the money the money the money the money the money the money the most important thing about this company was to make sure they build the government and get their money over $700 for $#*! think about it the Box gets sent back to them and then what do they do with the Box they put it in the trash can and they bill your insurance company
These people are scammers they all about money and some employees are rude I was talking to someone yesterday he try to get an attitude they bill me $681 dollars I gave them my insurance information if the insurance didn't approve it they should of let me know people was right about these scammers my test came back false positive don't take this test
The instructions that come with it are thicker than most of my magazines. They constantly text call email wanting me to send in. I never seen such complicated bs in my life. Flat out not doing it. Now I get a letter if I do by a certain time they donate to a cancer group? WTF? Feels like a total hustle. The colonscopy I had a few years ago was less stressful than this and it was negative. These people need to calm down in their desperation to get tests in. It's not about health it's about collecting cash.
Trying to get a hold of them is like grating your fingers on a chalkboard constantly. First they called me with what seemed like a 10 minute recording. That's fine I have the information. I'm calling you back because I need to ship the product. I'm not going to listen to another 10 minutes with no way to get past the f****** prompts
Tip for consumers:
Don't expect to talk to a human
I wish I have done some research before doing the Cologuard test. Lots of false positives and that's what happened to me too.Don't waste your time and money, just do the colonoscope.they deserve zero rating
They are the most unhelpful agency I have dealt with in recent years. Due yourself a favor, just do the colon cancer screening with everlywell, it's way simpler and their customer service is way better.
Wanted to write this review because the reviews on this site were so helpful. I too took a Cologuard test and it came out positive. But after reading all these reviews I felt a whole lot better. Had my Colonoscopy today and it was negative. So I would recommend to anyone NOT to take a Cologuard. Test. The doctor giving me my colonoscopy had said to me that they are totally unreliable. It is not worth the money or the aggravation and the worry it can bring on. Just go get your colonoscopy!
I haven't even received a kit and I've decided I'm not going to proceed with this screening. My doctor's office didn't send the order in, so I was told to email or fax it, which I did. Then...nothing. I finally called to find out what was going on, and they did receive my email, but the order was missing a code they needed to process it. Did they contact me or the office to let us know and get it? No. As a matter of fact, they just cancelled the order and didn't notify anyone.
For a company that is supposedly concerned about patients' health, Cologuard doesn't instill any confidence in its potential patients (I mean, look at the other reviews) and completely disregards needs and concerns. I won't be doing this screening, and I can't afford a colonoscopy, so I guess I'll just have to hope for the best.
Tip for consumers:
This company puts patients' health at grave risk.

I had so much stress from a false positive. My Dr ordered this for me. Not one thing was wrong when I had the colonoscopy, no polyp, nothing! Now I have to pay for the colonoscopy since I had a positive result. I am trying to work with my Dr's office to see if they can change the code to a screening so that I don't pay as much. Have a high deductible insurance so a huge bill. That test is complete trash. Just go get the colonoscopy.

Cologuard was easy but resulted in a positive result. Had colonoscopy which found no polyps or suspicious areas
Wish I had just begun with the colonoscopy.
Cologuard's inaccuracy caused anxiety and was a waste of $.
My doctor suggested using a convenient service for colon cancer screening. I was also told that my insurance would cover it. This raised red flags as nobody bothered to confirm it. After reading reviews, I found that may not be the case. I won't exaggerate this in the least. Before I could drive six miles to get home, I was receiving phone calls from Cologuard. The calls were followed up with more calls, texts, emails so excessively that it angered me. I decided that I won't use this service. I began to block numbers, but they'd just use a different one. After blocking their texts, they again used another untraceable number and posed themselves to be my medical provider. I will keep the unused sealed test kit as proof that I did not use their service should they decide to bill me for a screening. If anyone receives the kit and decides to not utilize it, I would suggest NOT returning the kit to them. I have zero faith that they would have the ethics to not send you a $681.00 bill.
The test itself may be non-invasive, but the merciless and insufferable text reminders and phone calls (WITHOUT MY CONSENT) have me saying "never gonna happen". You will feel an invasive probing no matter what with these jokers. Not doing it. Box unopened. All numbers blocked.
This company is an utter disgrace to the uninsured. They will not negotiate a lower price as they take much less payment from an insurance company but the uninsured pay the price. Sadly my insurance covered a real colonoscopy at full and nothing for Cologuard because my insurance doesn't pay for preventative care. Want everyone to know that they care less for your health and just want your money, given that their services only find 42% of precancerous polyps vs 95% for colonoscopy. Could have spent less for better results.
Tip for consumers:
Are sure your insurance covers it and beware it isn’t as effective as colonoscopy.

I was dupped into purchasing it. Thought maybe I could avoid a colonoscopy (which by the way is painless). But in its vary commercial it state" may have false positive or false negative results." So you still have to get the colonoscopy anyway. So I just blew $600.
Really gets under my skin. They are so inefficient. I actually got on the phone with a cologuard "customer service" rep to verify my insurance before sending the kit. THEY STILL BILLED ME. If that can't get this right, it's highly doubtful that could administer a test effectively.

The company will nag you until you send back the kit.
I decided not to take the test and receive constant phone calls from robots at all hours.
I requested they stop the annoying calls...they still call. I'll keep the test just to annoying them.
False positives are the norm. Any random thing can sway the results…NSAIDS, diet.Polyps must be surgically excised and polyps will not be detected with this worthless "test". I call baloney on its ability to detect "DNA changes". Why would the FDA sign off on this…let me guess. Go to a reputable gastroenterologist (research, ask anybody/everybody for referrals] and get your colonoscopy. Preps are manageable, easier than ever. Colon cancer is real, statistics show increasing rates. Colonoscopy will either catch precancerous polyps EARLY or you will get a clean bill of health for years….and then you go live your life!
If you get a positive result, you have to do a colonoscopy anyway, but in this case it's now billed as "diagnostic " for your insurance instead of preventive screening.
Our insurance covers preventing screening not diagnostic. So $2k outta pocket
Beware! Cologuard is in bed with the insurance companies
Husband got a positive test. Had colonoscopy, yes he had polyps, many of them, but they were all benign, not even pre cancerous. The waiting for true results was nerve wracking. Skip this nonsense and just get a colonoscopy. Cologard is a waste of time.
The Color Guard test is nasty and embarrassing.
The test should come in an plain wrapped box, not the advertised for the world to see. When you have to return it every one in the store sees and knows what it is. If Medicare insist on people taking it, it shouldn't be embarrassing to do.
So I've been having symptoms and colon cancer is in my family. In fact it's first degree. My doctor talk me into cologuard and I said ok. For almost a month I waited for cologuard to ship it to me but they never did. I called only to find out I didn't even exist in their system. My doctor faxed the order 4 more times. After three weeks I find out they got the order but because I'm under 50 my insurance won't pay for it. Doesn't matter first degree of cancer they still won't pay it. So I agreed to make payments. Cologuard is 649 dollars! They won't send it to you unless you pay for it right then. So I finally just told them forget it. I don't have that kind of money just laying around. This probably isn't a big deal to someone that has money but it's a big deal to me. Can't believe I wasted a whole month jumping through hoops only to find out my insurance doesn't cover it and they won't send it unless I pay it all right now. Ridiculous!
Attempted Cologuard this round as scheduling someone to pick me up from a colonoscopy can be difficult. I pooped in their box and returned it as per their instructions. After not hearing anything for around six months, I followed up and my doctor's office had to make several calls to learn that Cologuard rejected my sample because they "considered it too large." There was no communication to share that information and still, they had the balls to try to charge my insurance.
What absolute BS, you have to pay a doctor to recommend the test. Why? No reason, just drawing more money to the medical business that's the only explanation. Absolutely no reason a prescription would be needed for this test other than sponging more money to the medical profession... You think this is the end? Nope, once you get the test they will come up with reasons to have additional test, depending on what your insurance will cover. That's what it is about...
I was prescribed a Cologuard test at age 49. It came back positive. I was sent fir a colonoscopy at Harrisburg Endosopy. After the doctor who did the procedure gave me my results, which were fine...nothing found, he also said that 90% of the patients he gets from positive cologuard tests, find nothing during the colonoscopy.
To top it off...my insurance won't cover this "additional screening" because the cologuard test is the free screening. Now I have a bill of $870. How effective is this test if 90% at one doctor come back with no issues?.? It's a scam!
My test showed positive, worried to death about results had to go through colonoscopy anyway and it was normal---my insurance paid for this test but my colonoscopy would not be paid at 100% because it came back as positive on cologuard----wished i had read all the reviews before i did this
