Columbia Gas is AWFUL.
It's a natural gas utility service that strong-arms area customers into CONSTANTLY RISING RATES (even IF a customer uses a 3rd party utility provider).
Little "fees" throughout the bill (which are HARD ENOUGH to follow & work through) have RAISED RATES in NOT ONLY "per therm" measurements, but through little taxes, fees, service charges & operation charges that CHANGE NOTHING...yet RAISE THE COST.
LAST YEAR...I was OVERCHARGED in their "payment plan" by ALMOST $100/mo. & decided to pay-per-month...to catch up by the time July rolls around & usage is lower.
WELL...I was "down" by a mere $114 & got a "shut off threat"!
I am NOT behind by hundreds OR even THOUSANDS of dollars (like IRRESPONSIBLE customers) & I am confident that I can manage BETTER than the system that was OVERCHARGING & NEVER CREDITED ME THE DIFFERENCE!
I know how it works, folks.
No other utility company gives me these problems.
NOT.
ONE.
I had to use my CREDIT CARD to avoid their threats. I never really "fell behind" in regards to how their "even payment plan" works; but received threats ANYWAY.
The "even payment plan" COSTS MORE.
FOR WHAT?!
So...I did it & didn't have to pay THEIR hidden "fees"?!
Horrendous company.
Use a 3rd party & your rates will be 30% HIGHER.
The excuse:
"Economy & the Political Landscape"
Being that way shows that Columbia Gas of PA is PART OF THE PROBLEM!
Entirely unethical.
