Best choice for our daughter, other than a charter school. Questions we had were all answered. Enrollment was easy. Teachers & Counselors are great to work with. The website for parents & guardians is easy to use. Our daughter is very happy choosing this school. Extra curricular activities outside the school have been creative. The variety of clubs vary & lots to choose from. Thank you for providing tjis online school service!
I am a mother of two Autistic children. Connections Academy has not only been accommodating and patient during this difficult, yet exciting adventure. They've gone above and beyond at every chance possible to help us attain the foundation for a strong and hopeful future for our entire family. Thank you to the teachers and staff as well as the tech department for giving us your best efforts day after day.
My kids had a hard time in physical public school. They had to deal with bullies, had little to no extra help from teachers in the subjects they needed help with. They came home crying often and unmotivated to get their work done. Ever since we started at Connections Academy I've seen this burst of excitement from them. They love their teachers, there are so many options to receive extra help in their tougher subjects, and not once have I heard about any kids being mean. The field trips are so much fun, and my kids feel comfortable with their schoolwork. They love that they can work at their own pace, and they can lay on the couch with their kitties while they get work done. This has been the best academic decision we have ever made. We've been going through Connections Academy for 2 years, already enrolled for our 3rd year, and we will continue until both of my kids graduate. We LOVE Connections Academy!
My Son went to brick and mortar school till 8th grade. He was bullied and mistreated and just an all around bad experience. He had trouble focusing and was distracted. That is why we chose Connections Academy on line schooling. Since joining Connections Academy he has excelled tremendously academic and with expressing himself. It has been a great experience for my son and also for my husband and myself. My son has grown and become an adult and is proud of himself as are we his parents. Thank you for this amazing experience. The teachers are the best. My sons teachers have helped him with his self esteem and growth into the wonderful person he is today.
Hi Dawn, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with our school. We never like to hear that a student was being bullied at their previous school, but are glad that we're able to offer a safe learning environment for our students. We hope that your son continues to thrive! ~Alexis
I have had both of my kids in this school for years now and it seems to only get better. The teachers are amazing and always watching out for the kids. The faculty are always looking for innovative ways to make learning and teaching better for everyone. Lastly, the Board makes sure that everyone at the school has the tools to excel in their role with TECCA. Like I said, best school ever!
Thank you for your kind words, Jerry! We hope you continue to have a great experience here! ~Alexis
I had a great time here i loved there set up it was easy for me to handle on my own, I had such a great time i wish i could stay in 3rd grade with Mr. Bishop he was super nice and funny, he helped us all learn so much he taught me fractions on multiplication tricks
Hi Ian, we are so happy to hear you loved 3rd grade! It is so helpful to have a teacher like Mr. Bishop who supports you and makes learning fun. We hope to see you next year for 4th grade! ~Kim
The teachers do not teach at the level of work that is required for the children. What do these teachers get paid to do? Each course (Math, Science, LA, SS) should have live lesson. The teachers do not aide in teaching the children. I understand on-line school, I get it. However, the system grades the work. The teachers don't really have to be involved with the students. The parents are the teachers. Parents should be involved in their children's education. However, where are the teachers? What part do they really play. Not sure if we will come back next year.
I cant believe all these negative reviews. My children are now in 3rd and 5th grade. We love it. The teachers are so dedicated to educating our children. Some have gone above and beyond to teach our kids. No, it isn't easy and takes time. We are talking about the education of our children. The state says 6 hours a day. Some think that is too much! Are you kidding me? All day every day should be about learning. There are NO shortcuts and they shouldn't be expected. My children are way ahead of their public school friends! I am very proud of that.
My son and his teachers have a good connection in learning and it's at his pace. The patience, time and dedication the teachers make to my sons lessons is more than I can imagine.
It's really good to have them working together to help teach my son. Great teamwork
Hi Amy, Our teachers are the cornerstone of our schools, and we're so happy to hear that they have had such a positive impact on the education of your son. Thank you for taking the time to leave your review! ~Alexis
I came to Connections Academy after my son had some health issues and I also felt he wasn't progressing at his school. I was nervous when he started but as the school year progressed I noticed a complete change from my son. He was up for class and actually enjoying it. The best part is that you are not alone. The teachers the counselors are always extremely helpful and response times are quicker than I ever got from regular public school! Best decision was coming to Connections
There is nothing we like to hear more than a story about a student who rediscovered the joy of learning.
I've attended to a lot of cyber schools and none of them worked. This school has given me so much opportunity, The teachers are great and I've learned a lot. I definitely recommend this school, Everything is great and the teachers make learning fun.
Hi Yudy! We are so glad to hear that you have found the perfect fit for your family! Thank you for taking the time to review our school. ~Regina
Excellent staff and administration. Ensures the learning experience is and Epic one! Gives students a great opportunity for growth and development in all areas of learning. The best decision made for a conducive learning environment.
Hi Ashondria, We love to hear that we've provided an epic learning experience! Thank you for your review! ~Alexis
I've tried Florida Virtual, K12, and Connections Academy. Connections Academy is, by far, the best of the three. The program is designed for students that "want to learn". The teachers and staff are professional and readily available. I recommend this school to anyone willing to attend a proficient learning institution.
This year has not been so good for my kids. The math is not set up for kids with learning issues and there is issues with the teachers not getting back to you when you need them and you have to set up a time and day to meet them and sometimes, they don't show up for that. The math is just trash the kids don't know when to stop and the lessons are not set up for kids with issues and the teachers is no help. You don't get the grades and don't know they are behind until you see their grades fall then the kids get upset because they don't understand why. I really hope they change this and get back to the why things was and stop with all these changing things. Ive been with them for seven years and this is bar far the worse year. Teachers are not teaching, and lessons is just bad. You can't find the head of the school so you can talk to that person about all the issues so tell me who do you contact for this?

This is my first year with VL and i have to say CA is a very organized, high standard curriculum and very good communication with the teachers and staff. Everyone is very hands on to be a virtual school
My son struggled after the Covid lockdown. When he returned to public school he struggled. He went from an honor roll student to failing every class. He was being bullied relentlessly. I struggled with the public schools for over a year. I finally learned about Connections academy. My son is now a happy thriving 15 year old. He is doing great academically as well as personally. It is the best decision we have ever made.
Hi Robin, We're sorry to hear that your son had such a difficult time at his local school, but we are so happy to hear that he is thriving with us. We hope he continues to reach his full potential! ~Alexis
This school is horrible. They give your child a bunch of work, the portfolios are ridiculous and your child will fall being because it is not at your own pace like they say. We have had a problem with a teacher over stepping her boundaries as a teacher and she even called CPS on our family and said we had a 12 year old caring for our child, which is ridiculous. When I asked how they could come to that conclusion based of a one week 30 minute live lesson I was met with silence. If any of you know how corrupt CPS can be you can understand the severity of the lie that the this school made up on our family. BEWARE of this School. They WILL make up lies and call CPS on you if they feel you are not doing what they want you to do.
I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the supportive and well prepared staff. They have done everything to help my daughter with patience and strong perspective. My daughter has a few learning difficulties with focus and concentration. The entire staff was thoughtful and understanding and allowed this to be a strong experience for her. I am pleased and couldn't ask for better results. Thank you from my heart
Hi Clifford, Our teachers are the cornerstone of our schools, and we're grateful to hear that they have made such a difference in your daughter's education. Thank you for sharing! ~Alexis
We are in our 3rd year with Texas Connections. I have two students enrolled, one in 5th and the other in 7th. Switching out of the brick and motor school to TCA has been the best decision for us. I personally love the more challenging curriculum. One of my kids is in the GT program and the other is a slower learn who can work at his pace without the stress. My 7th grader joined the NHJS this year and is enjoying being part of a organization. We love the flexibility and not to mention the teachers thus far have been amazing! We take each year at time, but I can definitely see us staying with Texas Connections for the years to come! I'm thankful for Texas Connections Academy!

Hi Carly, We are so happy to hear that TCAH has made such a difference with your student's educations. Thank you for sharing! ~Alexis
My son really enjoyed this school he can interact with his classmates and teacher I spent two years homeschooling him because Tipton elementary school he kept getting bullied and stuff taking from my son and they feed him rotten food that made him sick
Hi Carol, We're sorry that your student had such a negative experience at their previous school, but are thrilled to hear that they are doing so well here. Thank you for sharing! ~Alexis
We started in 4th grade and are now in 9th grade. The work can be a bit demanding ( taking AP clases sand regular) but the teacher have been very helpful. It has allowed us to work at our own pace ( not AS much in high school) we can travel. And when we are done with work for the day, we are done and have time for guitar and piano. We concentrate more on the subjects that interest us, but we get a great over all education.
This school is the worst. Live lessons are pointless. All they do is test your kid some more! Zero teaching! If you need help, you will need to email, and set an appointment that can take 3/4 + days, whenever the teacher is available. You can't move forward until the lesson is done. They will not take the time to prepare the kid for any exam. It's all on the parent. Having a teacher is pointless. The tests are ridiculously exhausting and frustrating. Your kid will be miserable. It's been a extremely stressful. Everything they promise is a lie. My experience is with a 3rd and 5th grader. My sister has a 1st and 4th grader and it's the same thing.
Hi Day O. First, my apologies for not responding sooner. Secondly, we never want our students – or their Learning Coaches – to be frustrated like this, and I’d like to help. Please send me an email at community@connectionsacademy.com so I can locate your account and put you in touch with someone at the school who can talk with you about your concerns. ~Kim
This is the best school that my son has been in, and he will continue through out high school. The staff has been amazing! My son has improved so much being in the special Ed part of it too. Amazing school.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Stephanie! We are so happy to hear that we've been able to support your son throughout his educational journey. ~Alexis
We are in Indiana, and this is my daughter's 3rd year. She is a freshman this year and is still doing well. She can work at her own pace(though all work must be completed by the end of the semester), and everyone all years has been easy to talk to and get a hold of. It may not work for everyone, but it works for us.
I am an elite athlete and travel a lot nationally and internationally and attending conventional day school is not an option. I also train about 8 hr/day and really do not have any problem completing assigned work. The Connections Academy ( I am with Capistrano) provides me with all necessary tools to be successful academically. I am in a middle school and already take some high school classes. All my instructors are always there to help me and answer all my questions. This school teaches you how to study and how to learn, it teaches you how to organize and prioritize your time, it prepares you for college were you will be required to be independent. If you are a winner - this school is for you!
There are some days that it will have a lot, granted, but I am currently enrolled in 7th in there and I love it, i have constant help from my parents so it really helps, but i ask for the help. Edit: im still enrolled in 9th right now and it's still going great, dont get mad for some of the troubles with enrolling or getting too many assessments, blame the government for making such a cluster$#*! of a school system in the U.S.
My daughter attend CA in Southern California. We transferred so that my daughter could focus on her education instead of wasting time at her brick and mortar school.
CA promised the moon. Don't believe it. In my district, Southern California, I have found that they do not support PSAT testing, for this year(2016) they offered 35 spots to the entire population. They don't support SAT testing, if you want to do it then you are on your own. They don't offer science labs close to most homes, we had to drive 2 hours a day for my kid to complete lab time. The school simply says "we dont have the facility" that's it. Apparently the staff is not so much interested is CA graduates moving on to college as much as collecting tax based tuition.
If you are considering this school DO NOT! They will not support you and they don't spend on eduction. You are on your own.
