I was trying to finish my certificate with the last labs. Qwiklabs kept saying I could not do another lab while one was running, nothing else was running. I was almost done with the IT Google Support certificate. In an Ironic instance, I contacted the IT support for Coursera, they blamed it on Qwiklabs, the third party they chose to partner with and took no responsibility, I asked for an extension of only a few hours, but they told me there was nothing they could do even though it was a technical problem on their end. They wanted my money for the subcription continuance. What a joke. It's a money grab for them. From what I looked up online, this was a common occurrence. I would not trust Coursera, look elsewhere.

You can't get a refund past two weeks even though you find out later that they mislead you by saying C and C++ courses are graded by teacher or professor. Nope. They are peer reviewed and you have to review classmates' work. So, how can someone who failed C++ at school, know that they have graded someone else's assignment correctly? How can you know that your assignment is graded correctly? You can't know so you don't know if you are learning the topic. If you have ADHD and sometimes you miss part of the instructions in the assignment, you can't peer review someone else's assignment correctly. And there is a chance that someone will grade yours incorrectly.
I think it is pretty clear when you sign up for the trial period when you will be responsible to pay. I signed up for 2 separate courses, both as free trials. When you log into your account you can see clear as day what courses you are enrolled in and when the trial expires. Canceling is easy as clicking your mouse literally 1 second of your life. I studied both courses within the free trial and canceled both as well with no issue. I love how most of the negative reviews it is somehow the company's fault that you don't cancel within your free trial window. That is not an error on the company's part but rather a lack of attention on yours.
It's realy good service, lots of courses to choose from, some are free and the other are you have to paid even you can take it for free as i do, whitch you can find some course even without spending money which is really good
When they displayed "Enroll For Free" before I created an account, I thought, "Wow, if this course is free, that would be fantastic." But as soon I logged in, the button "Enroll For Free" changed to "Enroll", this infuriated me. Such kind of things are not expected from reputed organizations, and only fraud and scammy companies play such kind of cheap tactics to get people's personal information, so they have to create an account.
They use deceit and hidden cost to trap you into recurrent monthly charges. The worst part is that they have no call center or email for complaints. This is not acceptable
I started taking their course "Analyzing the Universe" but had to drop out since I did not really have the time to devote to the class that I thought I would. I have, however, signed up for another which starts next month: "Analyzing the Beethoven Piano Sonatas. Anyhow, what I've seen so far leads me to believe that this is one class outfit, and should be recommended by its users to all their friends.
Updated 08/17/2015: Since the review above was written, I have taken (and completed) the two classes (Calculus I and II) offered by Jim Fowler of Ohio State University. He is a very energetic and passionate lecturer, and I would highly recommend these classes to anyone.
This company is a joke. I contacted support right away when my mouse accidentally clicked on the subscribe button. But they told me "Be advised that you can try it and come back before 14days and they will unenroll me and return the enrollment". So I tried and find out the course is just under 20 lines of codes session for total complete newbie which i can find thousand better on the internet. And then when I contacted support again for unenrollment they said " We can not do that because you completed the course" Wow! Totally bulls***. The support really "Understand your concern"
Tip for consumers:
Why do you use it? The platform is a joke. Support is racist but they "Understand your concern". Their lobby video is stupid and their virtual machine view take 10seconds to respond to your mouse scroll. Courses took 10 mins to complete and you are still a complete newbie. Waste of time and money and a lot more time. Try Udemy or YouTube which is FREE

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Don't be fooled by the free trial like I was. I decided it wasn't for me, and have been trying for nearly 3 months to cancel it. They are billing me $118/mo. There is no way to cancel it. No email address to contact someone. No phone number to call. No way to escalate it. Only a chatbot with instructions that don't work. NO WAY TO DO IT. I have now contacted my bank and have logged a dispute. I now have to cancel my credit card - and that means all my existing direct debits will be dishonoured while I wait for the new card and transfer it all across to a new card number. All because of Coursera. NIGHTMARE.
I signed up for the It certificate program I completed the first one course and completed the 2nd course however, according to them it said I failed when I know I passed, I even took screenshots showing that I passed but on their end it automatically shows that you failed it's a major well known bug that prevents you from getting your certificate and their is no help, no email support and no chat support, only useless forums. Complete waste of time
I signed up for an ESL certification course with Coursera bec I saw the Arizona State University logo attached and assumed it was a contract with ASU to offer an online course. Paid $45 for the single course, got halfway thru, then was blocked. I was told (via chat) that I had never paid. My bank acct says I paid 1 month ago. Then the rep said I was "upgraded" ON THE SAME DATE and now will be billed monthly. I never chose an upgrade. I just wanted the one course. Coincidentally, I just got my new card from my bank with a different account # -- Good luck collecting, Coursera! I intend to contact ASU to find out if they know their name is being used. The course content was mickey-mouse anyway, and I suspect the "viedos" were staged and not real...
Tip for consumers:
They said I needed to pay up and then I would be allowed to reinstate the course. This was after I had already paid to take the course. Then I told them to just refund my money or I would make sure they got a bad review from me. The chat then hung up on me.

Very good service, lots of courses to choose from, some are even free so you can find something even without spending money which is really good when looking for new job.
Awful awful awful. Used it once and got locked into this internal payment scheme which I was unable to claim a refund for. 50 usd per month. Absolute disgrace
I signed up for a free Cousera program to qualify to join a volunteer organization. After the first two parts of the course, a request for payment popped up on the screen. When I contacted Coursea about this they said that I have to contact my organization. The organization said to contact Coursera. I then asked Coursera "customer service" to directly to resolve the problem with the organization. Cousera REFUSED!. The responses from Coursera appear to be AI generated. After spending hours on the the course and correspondence with Coursera, it is very disappointing to have no way to resolve their problem. AVOID COURSERA.

Got redirected to the coursera site from microsoft cloud certification site. Despite the course tag being 'Enroll Free' there was a convoluted sign up that asks for your Credit Card details all with the intention for you to sign up for 1 month and forget to cancel, which I did. The 'free' course cost be 60 Dollars, its little more than a way of getting a month's subscription for you. Even the course is poor - all videos, no grahpical explanations, DON'T BOTHER WITH IT.

First they told you to enroll for free, then after giving cc information they completly dissappears and after that they charges you ridiculous ammount. I got charged for 107$ right after the subscription ends and then you got 2 days to get refund. First they sends you tons of email everyday but after subscribing they becomes ghost so you completly forgets.

I'm a verified user on Coursera and have been paying the monthly subscription fee. I've used Coursera for years, since it's inception. It was not bad at first, pretty good really. But, the changes implemented to the platform over 2018/2019 are turning it into a profit driven scam machine. A couple of months ago they sent me a classic bait and switch survey email that is common to Craigslist scams; you answer some questions to see if you "qualify" to take the survey for some reward, but the questions you're answering ARE the FU@$! NG survey. And then, a couple days ago Coursera puts up a stonewall front page to their site with new "privacy" terms whereby you can either agree to allow them to sell your info to third parties, or you can delete your account completely losing all work that you've paid for in time and money. It's extortion. They're holding your work and records for ransom until you pay through personal exploitation. Their customer service exists, and eventually may respond by email, but it's slow and curt if they ever get back to you. As to the quality of the platform, the interface for the platform has become more streamlined, while the content has become more watered down. Better off going to Edx, or some other platform that hasn't been transformed to a scam.
The courses are great, but if you pay for a course, they are unavailable for any refunds or problems. They do not have any customer service contact information, so you really cannot get hold of them.
$#*!ty site, $#*!ty BROKEN courses. EVERY OTHER LAB IS BROKEN. QUIZZES MARK YOU WRONG FOR THE RIGHT ANSWER (Proven by looking into the useless discussion forums, where many have the same issue) THE "MENTORS" JUST TELL YOU TO SELECT THE GARBAGE $#*! PIECE OF $#*! WRONG ANSWER, BECAUSE THE RIGHT ANSWER WILL GET YOU MARKED WRONG. NO COURSE UPDATES, $#*!TY AMATEUR MISTAKES IN THE VIDEOS.
THIS SITE IS GARBAGE. GARBAGE UPON GARBAGE. PROBABLY MADE BY A $#*! DIVERSITY HIRE OR A SOYCUCK WITH THEIR HEAD FAR UP THEIR DISGUSTING $#*! THAT THEY REFUSE TO $#*!ING FIX THIS SITE. JESUS $#*!ING CHRIST.
After signing up for $39.99, they didn't charge my card and then said the price increased from $39.99 to $59.99 to continue my program! Very unethical.
I signed up for 2 courses. Cyber Security and IT Support, When giving my credit card number, their system was rejecting it and asking for another card. They charged both cards and deleted my accounts progress of over 66 hours of course work and test. No phone numbers to call, no accountability, response letters will Gaslight you to the 10th power. No professional correspondence, A BOT is used to convey messages. After reading ALL OF THE LIES that they are telling their customers, Leaves me no choice but to report them. I am like Popeye, I've had ALLS that I can stand and I cant stand NO MORE!

I bought a course certificate for a course. When you do that, they sort of give you a "verified course schedule" you can follow. My earliest option was 2-3 weeks into the future.
While I was waiting for my course to "officially start", coursera sends me an offer for a free upgrade to Coursera Plus for a month. I took it and immediately cancelled the subscription since I was like "meh, i wont get any course finished in a month".
So I begin the course I bought only to find I had lost complete and total access to it around 2 weeks into my verified schedule.
Costumer service then says that despite the fact I bought this course specifically, by accepting the Coursera Plus free upgrade, the course i bought gets "transferred" into my Coursera Plus account and therefore I lose access once I stop paying my Coursera Plus subscription. And that now I must pay the full course fee AGAIN to get my work back. This is despite the fact, again, that I literally paid for the course.
I also have to say that this "transfer" was not written anywhere and the website gave me no warning in any way shape or form that this would happen.
Pretty unfair if you ask me. Shame because the course itself was quite good.
But yeah watch out.
I have taken 8 courses on this platform and learned quite a bit.
The courses I took were
The Beatles
History Of Rock 1 and 2
The Rolling Stones
University of Rochester
Introduction to
Genetics and Evolution
Duke University
Useful Genetics Part 1 & 2
The University of British Columbia
Marriage and the Movies: A History
Wesleyan University
Loved all these class and learned quite a bit.
Highly recommend this.
My CC expired so they couldn't charge, I updated the card on file but there is literally no way of paying a past due amount and they never auto charged.
There was no way to reach them by phone, no chat option and never responded to my request via the contact us page.
It's like they didn't want me to pay, GAVE ME NO OPTIONS ON HOW TO PAY and JUST CANCELED ALL OF MY PROGRESS, so wasted my time when I could have used a different company.
Tip for consumers:
I wouldn't take the chance and just go with a different company, if you end up having an issue, you can't reach them, even their phone number is not correct.
