This site was extremely helpful for my fundraiser! It kept the fundraiser organized and always let me know whenever someone donated, or anything else that happened. I highly recommend it for anyone who needs a fundraising website.
My organisation used this service and have yet to receive check. Its been two months, they route you through several different companies, such as Network for Good that sound great but don't deliver. I am now on hold waiting for 10+ minutes trying to speak with someone.
O. K., I was *not* looking forward to fundraising (understatement), but CrowdRise made it easier and dare-I-say entertaining. We posted to facebook and had donations within minutes from people we hadn't seen in years. The customer service (chat, email, phone--I used them all) is among the best I've experienced anywhere, ever. Totally impressed and absolutely recommend.
I became aware of Crowdrise when I signed up for the OKC Memorial Run half marathon. I chose to raise money to fund the OKC Memorial museum, because it's an event that is close to my heart and a place I love to visit to remember how important that event was to Oklahoma history. And... I wanted that sweet pair of laces for my half marathon run... can't lie! Crowdrise was easy to sign up for, easy to create your fundraiser (a four year old could do so easily!) and then easy to share to social media! Complete breeze! Not to mention their site is hilarious...! Thanks, Crowdrise! - Amy Goodman
I've always wanted to raise money for a charity but you hear so many horror stories of charity organizations taking such huge percentages, CEO's with padded accounts, and overall corruption. Crowdrise was none of this and provided so much more than I would have thought. They answered any questions I had quickly and with a friendly tone. Raising awareness for my cause was so easy, they even have thank you prompts to help connect with those who donate. If you are thinking about raising for a cause please consider this website. I will be using CrowdRise every time I set up a chairtable event.
Crowdrise makes it so easy for a company to get their employees involved and actively donating to Charities of choice. We are able to wear jeans on Fridays if you donate to a charity. Crowdrise streamlined the whole process! Go Crowdrise.
Selling the dream. Dont buy the BS
In reality, the get started link leads to 2 options: start a fundraiser for a charity or individual. Neither link works right out the gate!
Then check out the privacy policy and actually read it. See if you can spot the redundant paragraphs that conveniently avoid disclosing their practices and policies. Quacks like a sham duck to us. Move on. Youll thank us later that you did.
Tip for consumers:
Dont buy the dream
The customer service rep on here is just repeating the same babble on every comment about the fees - rhetoric meant to make it seem like an 'option' to pay these fees - however guess what? Their story is, either you pay them or the charity, so see you have options! /s. Do yourself a favor and send the charity a check, venmo, paypal, or zelle so that they are REALLY getting 100% of your donation.
I was having a hard time adding a group to my account fundraiser page. I started the online chat and began working with someone at CrowdRise. They were so fantastic and helped me for over 30 minutes to make sure my accounts were fixed and my friend was added to my group fundraiser. This person seriously went through all possible methods of fixing my problem until it was finally solved.
Huge thank you to CrowdRise and Thank you for your fantastic Chat feature. I have used many and this has been one of my best experiences. It has turned a bad experience into a great one.
I wanted to say what excellent customer service I received from Quintas via email. I needed to get a receipt right away to a donor. I had no idea how to produce them one, so I went into the FAQs and found Quintas email address. It didn't seem at first if they would be the correct person or not, but I tried it anyway. Within seconds they asked for additional information and low in behold, in less than maybe 2 hours I was able to receive the appropriate receipt for the donor. I was expecting it to maybe take 48-72 hours... I also typically don't do surveys unless someone does an exceptional job or a poor job. But in the emails, you could tell that Quintas just had a pleasant kind attitude about themselves and was ready to assist and deliver exceptional customer service! Thanks Quintas! Keep up the awesome work!
This was my first experience with an organized race to help raise funds for charity. The folks at Crowdrise, Latika in particular, was incredibly helpful. She was on the spot with answering all my questions. I LOVE the shirts, too! I get tons of comments and compliments on my Decent Human t-shirt. Great marketing. Thanks so much for making this a pleasant experience. Well done, Crowdrise!

The CrowdRise team has been a real partner to us in a successful fundraising appeal. They've met our frequent requests for assistance with good humor, fortitude and quick action. When we came up against a glitch with a third party, they hung in there with us through tough negotiations with respect and professionalism. They are a delight to work with and now a trusted partner.
This site is extremely questionable. I raised funds on the site for Susan G. Komen Central and South Jersey. However, I wanted my company to match the donation so I reached out to Susan G. Komen to verify the donations with my company. After emailing them several times, I finally received a response only to tell me that they had no record of the donation. This was a donation that should have been transferred by Crowdrise's third party vendor which should also send a record of donors and contributions to the organization. Right now I am still trying to find out where the funds are after about 3 months. Although it is possibly Susan G. Komen is at fault as well, the customer service people Crowdrise have been responding with generic and vague answers. Find out where your funds are actually going!
I am pretty new to "crowd funding" and online fundraising in general. However, now that I am a Development Manager for a non-profit organization in Orange County, I am very involved with this type of outreach. I have been working with Crowdrise for a couple of years, and have had to reach out to them with questions, and they always get right back to me and are so helpful.
Just last week I messed up a page that I was setting up on the site (totally my fault) and sent an email asking for assistance. Their customer service rep responded in less than 5 minutes, with not only an answer, but they had actually already fixed the problem FOR ME!
This blew me away. They are obviously super human, or jacked up on energy drinks or something! Either way, I am now dubbing them the "Nordstrom of Crowdsourcing Sites!"
So grateful that I needed to stop and truly say... thank you Crowdrise!

CrowdRise has made our fundraising experience at my organization come alive! I've enjoyed all of the energy that using Crowdrise has given to me and my organization. It's been easy to connect with people about our cause and provide them with simple tools to support us! I will be using CrowdRise again in the future.
I had a donor make a donation to the right event, but the wrong year. I sent an email to customer service and received a reply within 10 minutes with clear instructions. After following the instructions in a return email, the donation was switched almost immediately. That is seriously the best, most efficient, and to be honest, friendliest customer service I've ever had. Anywhere. Kudos to Quintas and Crowdrise!
I wanted to donate money to a non-profit but realized that the site didn't accept PayPal. In today's world, I'd like to avoid disclosing personal details. So I wrote to them and they replied right away. First, they thanked me for contacting them. They told me they were working to incorporate PayPal, and assured me that they have high security standards.
I haven't used them yet, but I always appreciate replies.
BTW, to those people who think they must donate, please READ carefully before you bash the site with a 1-star. You DON'T have to. It says OPTIONAL.
I don't know what all the fuss is about. Crowdrise takes a 6% fee and the payment processor takes 2.9%. If you opt to pay a little extra so the nonprofit doesn't pay the fees from your donation (I did), the fees plus donation Is totaled up at checkout. It's impossible to miss. More importantly, the site is extremely easy to use and e-mail support is quick. It's kind of silly to expect a platform to not have some kind of fee attached to sustain operations/stay running.
I have had such a great experience with the customer service at Crowdrise. Kate was helpful, efficient and made everything work for me as I needed. The stress of running a crowdfunding campaign was defintely lifted. Thank you Kate!
We had a friend in need, and lots of good hearts that wanted to help. In under an hour, I had a funding page set up through CrowdRise, vetted it with our friend and his wife for content, and rolled it out to a group of our high school friends - most of us hadn't been in contact for 40 years. Within days, we surpassed our goal, then a second goal, and a week and a half later, a THIRD goal! This site is easy to use, easy to track, easy to thank donors... easy, easy, easy - and the fee to use it was lower than another site we almost chose! (And our friend is so pleased with the outcome... together we did through CrowdRise what a few could not have done alone.)
CrowdRise staff cheered us on, offered help, answered my administrator questions, and were, in general, pretty spectacular. (Shout-out to Quintas, who was my sidekick for a few days there!)
This is one of the most exceptional product and customer service experiences I've ever had. I would use them again in a heartbeat!
I was having difficulty linking my bank account to crowd rise. I contacted the "bank lady" and she was an amazing help. She wrote back in minutes of my email and gave me step by step directions of what to do next. I was blown away by the exceptional customer service of crowdrise! :)
My entire experience of working with CrowdRise was a positive one right from the beginning. I had a few questions and requests that I was not sure if they would be able to help me out with and their team of employees went above and beyond to take care of things and get my concerns taken care of immediately. They are a joy to work with and I look forward to using the site in the future!
I'm giving crowdrise two stars only because it may offer charities some benefits I'm not aware of. As a donor, I was ticked off that crowdwise wants a 10% fee for processing a transaction.
This seems egregiously excessive to me, especially if they fancy themselves as somewhat of an altruistic company.
I volunteer for This Old Horse in Minnesota a new, small non profit and for the second year I have easily surpassed my fundraising goal thanks to Crowdrise! This year when I sent out my birthday note I updated our non profit site and the founder started her own team page and sent my link to more of our volunteers who started their own pages! Thanks to your clear instructions the page is easy to set up and more important, it is so easy for our donors to use and they love seeing our pictures! Thank you Crowdrise for your quirky style that is really helping make a difference!
I would definitely recommend CrowdRise to small to mid-size nonprofits. My organization uses it for P2P fundraising. Technically it works smoothly, has good reporting capabilities, and the CrowdRise team has worked very hard to ensure that their platform gels with our org's vision and brand. The real deal clinchers for CrowdRise are value for money - a $50/month subscription gets you a great rate on donation fees (under 3%) - and the very excellent customer service. The representative who deals with me always answers my (many) questions quickly and helpfully.
I just learned of CrowdRise and have used it several times already. It is amazing and the humor used throughout their site makes the mundane come to life! Hats off to them for a great and entertaining site.
They wanted to charge $24.00 for a $300.00 donation, so i lowered it to $200.00 and the charge is $16.00 which tells me that they lowered their charge due to so many complains, is now 8%. But what I do not understand is why don't they have a flat fee per transaction if it does not exceed the $1,000.00. They are not a merchant transaction per say to charge based on amount. I wonder if they reduced 2% but is now charging it to the organization. I have donated thru justgive.org and they charge 4.5% and give you the option to you to add it or if you want them to take it from they donation, straightforward.
Hey Ana,
Thanks so much and I can definitely shed a bit of light on this one for ya'.
We actually just launched a feature on the site that gives donors the option to donate just a bit more in order to cover the fundraiser's transaction fee and ensure that 100% of the donation amount goes to the particular cause.
I checked out JustGive.Org and it appears that they only offer this feature if the donation is made through one of their DONATE NOW button, which you can find on their FAQs here: https://www.justgive.org/nonprofit-resources/faq/index.jsp.
This means that if you did not make your contribution through a DONATE NOW button, the fundraiser did not receive the full amount of your donation.
I'd be more than happy to discuss this further with you, just shoot me an email over to Quintas@CrowdRise.Com, I'll be standing by to answer any and all other questions you have as well.
Thanks so much and definitely appreciate the feedback here.
