CSL Plasma in St Paul, MN is the worst business ever. Their staff is incompetent and very unprofessional.
They say they care about their donors, but really they are in CYA mode.
For years, they allowed me to donate knowing that I'm allergic to latex (and not having latex free medical tape, wrap, etc). I never had a problem.
Suddenly, a new employee who doesn't know anything about latex allergy (i. E. there are 3 types of reaction -- I have the most common and mildest allergy) says I have to be permanently deferred because the latex can build up and cause a severe reaction.
The Red Cross says "If you are allergic to iodine, tape or natural latex rubber, tell the interviewer, so that the donation staff can substitute other materials."
So, CSL Plasma management permanently defers me saying that they're concerned about my health. In reality it's CYA mode for them because they know about my latex allergy but made no accommodations for it (i. E. using latex free gloves, tape, wrap, etc.).
They expected me to know that even though the allergy is noted all over my file, not everyone who touches me during the collection process has access to that information. They also expected me to know just by looking at a roll of tape that it is latex free.
Also, their staff is very rude and very unprofessional. To them it's a job (low paying). They talk badly about other employees and/or management while they're on the donation floor. They talk badly about other donors. I know other donors who will leave if certain employees are on duty. They would rather not donate than deal with those employees.
Writing a Review the to let everyone know how satisfying I am with the experience I had a c s l plasma Southfield michigan from one to 5. I give them a five because of the great service.
I was demoted after asking for reasonable accommodation. I will be filing with the EEOC, but want to warn any other disabled job seekers to steer clear!
CSL Plasma Medina Ohio

Staff saw somebody sitting there for a half hour don't answer there phones if you have diabetes forget it they don't want you go find another CSL somewhere else try to one in Parma heights maybe you'll have more luck than the one in Medina Ohio.
I went for the first time I proceeded the donate my IV was burning and I kept telling the lady and she told me to just keep making a fist not even 3 seconds later blood started squirting everywhere and the lady proceeded to yell at me so I contacted corporate where I was called by the Aston manager who basically called me a liar so I asked him to review the tapes mind you I had white sneakers on they were ruined he told me I would be compensated and I was giving $20 and now they keep calling me and they're not leaving me a voicemail anything do not go there
I've bin going to csl for about 4 months, I do it for charity. I came in did my stats so I could then move on to a bed, everybody is always nice except one woman who just likes to bring her anger to work. I had a bottle of water like always, I forgot your not supposed to drink or eat in the bed but they didn't have me hooked up, I took the last drink and threw the bottle away she came at me you can't drink that over here, ok I said I'm sorry, they told you that when you signed up ok once again I'm sorry, she looked at me like she was hoping I would say something else. Well they hooked me up right away the machine messed up. I said am I broken no said 3 other employees well she had to come over all of a sudden it is my fault I'm dehydrated she said no mam I said I drink 12 to 15 bottles a day well she got snippy wanted to argue about it. I said I'm not going to argue with you. Well she was talking under her breath as she walked away.no more problem after that I finish in 40 minutes as usual. But that's it for me. It's charity for crying out loud. Get somebody else to take your crappy life out on. Sorry to the rest of the crew good people.
This place is a joke, at least the branches in my city. I went in twice, two days in a row, I made it through all of the tests, etc, no problem. It was only when I got to the very last part, minutes away from donating, that I was told that I could not due to some slight wheezing in one area of my left lung. Ridiculous, especially considering the other people there who were allowed to donate. Most of them looked like strung-out addicts whose bodily fluids I would not let anywhere near me even if it meant my death. So I go back the next day as was suggested by the nurse. The next day there is a different woman who tells me that "It had to be more than that ( the slight wheezing) I wouldn't have been disqualified based solely on that" I assure her that everything else was perfectly fine, which she confirms via my chart. Then after saying that I would not be disqualified solely because of that, she listens to my lungs then tells me there is still a slight wheeze and I won't be able to donate.
She then rather aggressively starts interrogating me proclaiming that I must smoke. I do not. I have asthma and am never completely free from some amount of wheezing. And never mind all of the people who were allowed to donate and were also outside smoking. I guess it is only wheezing due to asthma that is unacceptable. Needless to say, I did not bother going back.
Staff did not care jabbed needle so deep my arm when numb! They hit a nerve and didnt care. The Male workers were racist and acted like I was a burden!
Very unprofessional staff. You make a complaint and nothing is done. Staff are allowed to HARASS their clientele.
Anyone can get a job there. Staff under the influence allowed to put the needles in our arms.
Do not follow guidelines even though we just had a DEADLY PANDEMIC.
JUST VERY UNPROFESSIONAL... When their clientele is trying to SAVE LIVES.
They explain everything great walk you through the process and I really liked the staff.the place is very clean. I was done with my donation very quickly.
They do good work try to get you in and out they help you with good service. The process is easy.its helps to save lives and I'm all for living for the better
I've been there four times everything was fine until the fourth time then I ended up feeling threatened due to the way the people around there were acting towards me the staff person that was handling me was rude and ignorant and it caused other people that were there giving plasma to start being rude and ignorant towards me as well so I felt threatened yes I'm going to go back one more time and try it again see if I have any more issues if I do I will not go back again this is the first time I've ever seen this person working there
I've been doing plasma for about 3 years. It's a very clean and the people are all very nice. I've never had a problem with donation and will continue to donate.
Just going through my new donor pay twice i asked for a a manager and never got to talk to one. The staff are cocky my machine kept beeping and i noticed my donation seemed to be paused and not one person came to check my machine i waved and saw that people saw me but i was ignored and had to yell to get someone to check my machine then when it was over the lady taking out the needle was mad because i had to yell and roughly pulled the needle out of my arm and wouldnt even speak to me DO NOT go to the one on Market St in Houston
The Staff is amazing it's always a nice setting and environment, London stuck me today, I didn't even feel it, it was a great stick, definitely recommend.
I would definitely NOT recommend the Houston CSL site on Ella Boulevard in Houston, Texas. Yesterday was my very first visit. I was there for over 7 hours! I arrived just after 7:00am, and when entering was told that it would take 2-3 hours. The person at the front desk started my intake, but the majority of the first 4 hours I was sitting in the reception area. When I asked the armed guard (yes, they have an armed security guard that walks around inside) how much longer it would be, I was told that the reception person was eating her lunch! She was eating lunch while I was still waiting to be seen after 4 hours! To make a long story short, I was there in the reception area for close to 6 hours - no water or food - before finally actually getting to the back to donate plasma. It was after 2:00pm when I finished. I was so thirsty. I stopped at Walmart to get something to drink and nearly collapsed before getting out to my car where I vomited in the parking lot. A terrible experience. Being forced to go without even water for 7 hours is inhumane. There is no reason an initial visit should take 7 hours...ever. The staff at this site is incompetent.
From the first time I stepped into the CSL center in Mowry drive in Homestead I was treated with the utmost respect and given every opportunity to save lives with a friendly and courteous staff. Thank you CSL God Bless!
This place is a waste of my $#*!ing time I went there one time to donate plasma and waited a while then went back three more times just to be turned away $#*! them waste people's time
Being a new donor I'm considered a red which means that a new employee or a trainee it's not supposed to be sticking me. To go on with my complaint is that I gave the gentleman the opportunity to stick me because he stated that he was one of the best ones. Unfortunately he couldn't get my vain right so my machine Kept on beeping and finally they came and re stuck me. Well Well unfortunately the second person that stuck me didn't do a great job either which a manager had to come and help adjust but to my disappointment that didn't work so I lost a whole bowl of blood. It was very emotional to me due to me asking the employee since way earlier to just take me off because it was a discomfort. So now I'm deferred and I lost to be able to get all my donor fees. I'm a medical assistant and I guided them to my vain and it was still a fail just heart breaking when they don't take you seriously at all! All of this could've been prevented. What was more painful is that both of arms where bruised. Wish I would've saved the pictures but I didn't.
Good morning,
I want to start off by saying that over the years I have been donating, the staff at this location has for the most part, been polite, professional and the phlebotomists who draw the blood, skilled. Today, however, I encountered a different experience. For the past several months or so, I've gone to this facility to donate several times but the lines have been way too long and the wait to get a bed unacceptable so I've had to leave. Today (Tuesday) I was there at 7:30 and the line was way too long again. I spoke with a desk manager(or someone who said they were the desk manager) to express my concern about the lack of beds open and that CSL may need to consider hiring more personnel and opening more beds because it's difficult to continue to plan donations when people have to wait for such an extended time; especially when in the past it was not like that, to which she replied, as she pointed to the long line, "They don't seem to have a problem with it". I thought this response from a "manager" who I think would have customer service training, was unacceptable and not professional at all. The way she responded to my concerns has left me feeling disrespected and my feelings a bit hurt when I was only trying to find out why this is occurring and then suggesting how the overall donation experience could be made better. Please treat your donors with more respect and kindness, CSL.
Answer: Difficult because they are under staffed and are more worried about getting a lunch break or complaining about the job on the flour.
Answer: Octapharma doesn't pay good the first time. To me anyway. I like grifols out South Nashville.
Answer: Because of the new donor fee. You'll get $100 to $150 on the first day. Then like 100 on your second donation. Did like 60 or 80 on the 3rd donation. It depends on your weight as to how much you are able to give and get paid for
Answer: The first second and third donation after that your money goes down significantly
Answer: It's very legit it's real. You just have to deal with millennials and people who don't have respect for others their time is more precious than the consumer or customer. A girl has left me hooked up after a donation so she can go on break
Answer: Yes. Unless they have changed. You can go two days out the week. If you miss a day your pay goes down well mine did anyway.
