I bought a brand new in box Defender PhoenixM2 security camera system from ebay. It had never been opened. I set the system up and in the box was a small info sheet on how to extend the warranty. I went to the Denderscamera.com website to do this and couldn't find the link. I went to the chat option and got Amanda. She stated because I bought from ebay, they would not warranty the product. She said it is like buying a used car. First, a used car does not come in a sealed box and most come with a warranty. I could see if I had bought an obsolete system in an open box. But, the PhoenixM2 is a current product they sell. They just don't want to warranty it because I did not buy it directly from them. I have bought several other items from ebay and had no problems with registering for warranties. Defender is the first one who flat out refused to back their product. In the future, I will buy the Cobra System from Harbor Freight as it cost about the same and they have no problem providing a warranty for their product.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use this site. You're better off buying a different system elsewhere.
