Dell has a rating of 1.6 stars from 533 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Dell most frequently mention customer service, tech support, and hard drive problems. Dell ranks 213th among Computer sites.
I am in love with Dell, and everything that Big Mike touches. It would be very hard for me to say anything negative about their website. The only thing I can advice is that they give it a more store-like format, and less of a PR medium. Other than that, it's all good.
I called to get information on where to access an invitation for friends/family which was super confusing, to begin with. The Dell employees are terrible at their job and do their best to try to confuse and obfuscate the correct answer. They were quick to point out that my computer was purchased two years ago. Don't they realize we have other options? Very poor management team who allows this bad service to go on. Just look at all the one star reviews.
I had hardly used my DELL laptop and the camera had gone bad.
Dell is one of the worst BRAND, having external parts fitted in their device and upon not working, they ask the customers to contact the third party support. Their Tech Support is also not as expected, no expertise and they don't have knowledge.
Quality wise DELL products are not good and long lasting.
I would recommend to use OTHER Laptop Brands and NOT DELL for sure.
So, if you are deployed and decide to purchase a new Dell laptop, you won't get service when you return to the US. You are on an an international service warrantee, and it won't be honored by Dell when you return to the USA. So, I am now stuck with a brick that should be under warrantee, but Dell won't honor it.

It's all overseas customer service by ppl who have no idea how to do anything but read a script. The Dell site logins keep changing and I can't even fo d my invoices and orders from previous years.
I purchased Dell Laptop as highly recommended as a product according to product reviews read. All went well until I had to make contact with the Customer service team... what an absolute debacle!
Wait for it, even worse than Kogan.
My experience included the following:
Pass onto multiple Departments, and spoke with multiple people who unfortunately did not have adequate English skills, making an already stressful situation more stressful.
Some of the customer service people were obviously working from home as the crying of children and banging of pots/pans including traffic noise.
Not one system links with another system... all an absolute quagmire of disasters.
Given Dell leads the world in technology it seems surreal that their customer service systems appear so archaic and reflective of Third World customer Service approach.
Although supportive of people from all countries being given opportunities to be employed. This requires skilled and knowledgeable staff that can provide proper information with a professional approach.
I strongly suggest that DELL management re direct some of the billions of dollars earnt into a more functional customer service system and regain some moral compass.

I always used Dell in the past and was pretty happy until I bought 2 weeks ago a new Dell Vostro...First I found out MacAffee wasn't installed on my comp even though I bought the 3 year protection. I was told to call MacAffee to activate the anti-virus...When I did, they asked me to contact Dell and then Dell told me they will call me on a conference call with MacAffee! I can't tell you how upset I am with these clones! I just wish I read the Dell bad reviews before making my purchase...A lesson learned here
WHEN WILL I GET MY WORKING LAPTOP?
FIRST YOU SEND A FAULTY LAPTOP VIA Order: ******* ON MAY 31 2021 WITH CHARGER NOT CHARGING BATTERY RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX.
THEN YOU TAKE MORE THAN 2 WEEKS TO SEND A REPLACEMENT WHICH ARRIVES VIA PUROLATOR Shipment: YAW******* IN A TOTALLY DAMAGED BOX WHICH I REFUSE TO ACCEPT.
NOW HOW LONG WOULD YOU MAKE ME WAIT FOR A WORKING LAPTOP?
DELL YOUR SERVICE SUCKS... WILL SHARE THIS ALL OVER SOCIAL MEDIA.

Bought an aurora r12 and it was broken right out of the gate. Dell support sent a technician who didn't have a clue what he was doing neither did the phoned technical support services and brought a used graphics card with him and still did not fix the problem or take the PC away. Had to wait for a Purolator driver... But why?
Still waiting for a fix... 2 months after the purchase. Tried emailing Dell several times. I was fully ignored at every turn. The person who replied had copied and pasted replies that came from a fraudulent Indian fake tech (not a smart on the country but pointing out the truckload of scammers that we all experience). Who didn't explain the issue as to why all of this was happening or explain the reason for horrible support. Don't buy Dell. I could go on and don't have time to go into details but I don't ever want to deal with them again. I'd rather eat my own face.
Why wasn't the PC taken away on the spot. Why wasn't a fix placed at my feet for my major inconveniences? (haha) overkill humour there to lighten up the review.
Is there any ratings less than zero? Yup... Dell popped the bed. Several times... Wow... Just wow.

Dell customer for many years and I've never had any issues. Their service is absolutely fantastic and their products are awesome. Fast shipment, prices are ok. Keep it up!
I bought a Dell Desktop around 2 years ago. Custom parts, NOW whenever i'm downloading ANYTHING AT ALL from ANYWHERE. My DELL pc blue screens on me giving me a "DPC_WATCHDOG_ERROR". I've replaced the SSD to see if that was the problem. It was not. I contact customer service, they have no idea.
I am now basically stuck with a LEMON PC that barely runs top end games. I will NEVER buy a DELL again.

The great thing about dell computers in my opinion is getting some of their older ones from people that just have them sitting around or around different sites from home users to gain from the parts. There are a lot of older dell pcs that you can get i7 CPUs in that still run for around $300 today & if you have the money could make some decent budget build computers to resell or use yourself. Personally I can not afford to do with or I would as most of these old computers only run at about $60-$100 if you just look around.
Rating Dell as a company I can not say anything bad about them though honestly I think everyone is better off building their own computers because there is always something that could have been better wither its the motherboard, the cpu, the power supply, or what ever. For the price it costs to buy a computer name, you can make an even better computer yourself in most cases.
I still give Dell 5 stars though because they do make some decent builds though I think prices are a bit much sometimes.
I gave 1 star not to the product but dell company in germany. They caused me a lot of problem during last few months, they are so irresponsible, first they canceled the pc that my brother bought for me in blackfriday and they didn't even care to tell us and after 1 month I understood it then I had to pay for another pc with less config but same price, after 2 month they send me an email you should pay for your item but I gave them all the access to proceed the payment and when I asked them what happened they didn't explain it to me, and again they didn't write me back for another two month so I asked them for an explanation but they didn't answer again for another one month then they threatened me if I don't pay they will pick up my PC, I'm the one who suffered here but they threatened me instead of giving a simple explanation. So if you can buy this PC from somewhere else do it because this company doesn't respect the customer at all.
Very good warranty i bought a notebook and also purchase to two years extended warranty my laptop broke last week just got repaired from dell the laptop was brand new like the first day i got it
Hello! Dell precision 3550 needs to be tested with windows 10 version 1903 and 1909 it gives me a blue screen error code when i try to install dell support assist. So dell precision 3550 isn't good!
Dell products, support are very bad, they left me with a dead box!
Dell products, paid premium warranty, support are all unreliable. Had purchased Dell XPS 8930 which started giving problems in 14 months computer was randomly freezing. Dell support recommended to sign for paid premium. Their trial and error support wasted my money, countless days and hours. They replaced mother board several times and this initially spoilt the Nvidia GPU and eventually made the computer a dead box which does not even power up to boot.
After battling many days without success and emailing Dell CEO email got response from a person claiming as executive from corporate office. This person was unprofessional, rude and told "Dell cannot guarantee our products and service, we can offer paid warranty will provide support as long as we continue to pay for warranty" This person told if they broke the computer and if I am not paying for warranty, I would not be supported.
Premium warranty has a SLA of two business days, but there was extended delay for service which was blamed on part was not available and/or covid19. The on site technician is not a Dell staff rather from third party who told me Dell keeps mailing the parts without even checking with him what is really the problem with the computer and the recommended fix.
Tip for consumers:
If Dell had guarantee for paid premium support and fixed the issue instead of leaving me with dead box.

I ordered a Dell laptop online expecting to pick up the parcel well before Christmas- this was ordered in mid-November. I received notification that there was a delay and that my address info needed to be updated. I was on hold for 2 hours trying to change my address- which was never approved despite submitting a formal written request. After I was notified that my request was denied, I tried talking to customer service reps for support- I was hung up on two times for no reason. I was not upset, or rude, they simply disconnected me and never called me back. I was so frustrated that I decided to cancel my order rather than try to spend who knows how many more hours getting the address updated. Oh they also do not allow packages to be sent to parcel holding facilities- so they will just drop off in front of your apartment buidling (not in mail room) if you are not their to receive the package. So yeah, I cancelled. Now, I'm on the phone waiting to confirm that I will receive the refund. Once again, I'm on the phone for 2+ hours and have been bounced around from department to department 5+ times. I will never buy a dell product again. This is so terrible, I honestly am shocked because I love their product.
I purchased dell 5570 through Amazon
I purchased dell 5570 through Amazon. Machine kept freezing and blue screening from the first day I used it. I called dell support and they told me it was a windows problem and needed to charge me to fix it as it was not a hardware or dell issue. After dealing with freezing and blue screens until warranty expired, it finally quit. Took it to repair shop, they replaced hard drive, got it back, still same issues freezing and blues screens as many as 7 times daily. Took it back to repair shop and they reinstalled windows 10. Got laptop back and still same issues. I have spent $350 in repairs to date and hundreds of hours updating, troubleshooting, and redoing files that were lost during the blue screens and freezes. I am a senior and while I have lots of time, this is not enjoyable. Don't know if Amazon got deal on these machines or if dell just dropped ball making this unit. Needed this laptop as I was spending time in hospital fighting cancer. This has been one of the worst experiences of my life! Posting this review, so someone else might not need to go through what I have.
Tip for consumers:
Don't Buy!!! Never worked right from day 1 of purchase. Wanted to charge me to fix it, claiming it was windows issue, not dell issue, while it was under warranty.

Mostly with customer service. Not to mention that I had problems with my screen pretty much right after I bought it. They repaired it and I had the same issue again in a few weeks.
This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I had an account and the interest was way too high. I contacted them many times about lowering my interest and they never did anything.
I had made a mistake on the website and I luckily got connected to Syed Tahir this man helped me solve my problems not only with speed but genuinely caring for the situation.

Item for my computer
I have purchase dell laptop after some month, I'm facing some issue in battery battery backup, they provide instant service and solve my issue within two day.
Terrible customer support and the products dont compete in the market. My 2008 Mac is faster then my new Dell. Save a little and buy something better.
Ordered Inspiron 7000 2 in 1 from Best Buy and received Oct 6,2021. Dell doesn't care when you bought it, warranty starts the day they ship not when you purchase. My computer shipped from Dell in August 2021 so although I did not buy it from Best Buy until Oct 2021 my warranty ran out in August. One year after purchase, typing on the keyboard causes the computer to shut down and reboot. I didn't figure out why it was shutting down at first. I use the laptop for photo editing and don't type on it a lot, mostly wacom pad and pen work. Called Dell today to ask: 1) Why did my warranty expire after 8 months not 12? 2) Why does a 1 year warranty/service plan renewal that the site says is $92.65 turn into $134.95 when I add it to the cart? 3) Why should I have to pay at all for a computer with a defective keyboard? I didn't get an answer to any of the aforementioned questions by the way. I did get told they would not renew my warranty/service contract until the broken keyboard was fixed. I still have a 13 year old HP sitting on the floor next to me that still works, it is just not have the horsepower to process photos. For everything else that 13 year old computer still works fine including, get this, I can type on it! Moral of the story is don't by a Dell, they are junk. This is the third one (shame on me) I have had in 20 is years and none of them have been as good as the HP, Acer, Sony or even Compaq(back in the day). Other than the keyboard problem, the computer will overheat and lock up as well. I would give more detail, but, I don't have a functioning keyboard.
The website is borderline okay if you are looking to buy a dell computer. HOWEVER, do not call customer service and attempt to ask any questions expecting any sort of straight answer! I called, asked my questions. Got transferred, asked them again. Got answered with questions and attempts to upsell me when I couldn't evwn decide for sure what I wanted because I couldn't get my questions answered! Then I hung up out of frustration and they called me right back. U nevwr provided my number. Thwn they proceeded to call back just before 11pm which is NOT okay unless it is an emergency and. You are family for Pete's sake! Bad bad bad!
I purchased a Inspiron 5565 laptop three weeks ago. Additionally, I purchased the premium support and extra warranties. When I opened the box and tried to use the laptop, it would not boot. I contacted PREMIUM tech support. They advised that it was a software issue and not a hardware issue and they could not assist me. I was continuously looped through their customer service department. This has went on daily for three weeks. I have been insulted, lied to, and disconnected on the phone multiple times. A system exchange was promised. The exchange never came and the tracking info they provided was for someone else's account. I then decided enough was enough and wanted a refund. I am still stuck in the process of trying to achieve that. The last representative said, "There is an issue, this will take a couple hours to process. You will receive a call back today. Please do not call back in again, respond to the email you will receive shortly." That was yesterday: no call back, no email. Please be very careful and do your research first. Even a quick glance through their social media accounts will show you quickly that I am one in a million who are having troubles with Dell products and their customer support. I am now the not so proud owner of a $600 Inspiron laptop paperweight that is of no value to me. BUYERS, BEWARE!
