I am in love with Dell, and everything that Big Mike touches. It would be very hard for me to say anything negative about their website. The only thing I can advice is that they give it a more store-like format, and less of a PR medium. Other than that, it's all good.
I called to get information on where to access an invitation for friends/family which was super confusing, to begin with. The Dell employees are terrible at their job and do their best to try to confuse and obfuscate the correct answer. They were quick to point out that my computer was purchased two years ago. Don't they realize we have other options? Very poor management team who allows this bad service to go on. Just look at all the one star reviews.
Reluctantly bought a 2nd desktop on dell.com only because I needed the same development environment at a 2nd location. Their offshore service is poor.
Bought a R15 w/4090 GPU back in April 2023. It always had occasional issues wit hthe display output. Would go black sometimes and would have to reboot to fix the issue. Issue got worse over time. 3 techs came out. Replaces the motherboard twice, the GPU once, and I still have the issue. Spent hours on the phone numerous times where techs try to have you trouble shoot over the phone. Nothing gets fixed. I finally demanded a replacement unit, which they sent. Dell certified refurbished unit. If it works, I'm happy. Surprise surprise, this computer has an issue with the power button. Sometimes it won't turn on. Apparently they just sent me someone else's problem unit. Nice customer service Dell. I spent so much money and time trying to get a computer that works. Took time off work to wait for 3 techs, etc. So far in my life I have bought 3 Alienware computers and 3 nice monitors. In all about 10-11K. Dell will never get another penny of my money. But hey, my warranty is good for another 7 months or so. Wonder how many tech visits I can schedule during that time. Should have just did the right thing Dell and admitted you gave me a lemon and replaced it with a brand new computer. It would have been the best outcome for us both.

I have historically had Dell at top of my list. My previous Dell desktop lasted me about 10 years. Purchased an Inspiron 5675 gaming PC 4+ years ago. Worked mostly fine, weird thing where Windows will occasionally freeze for 5-15 seconds. Anyway, my original 3yr warranty passed, I didn't think I had to worry — until the day I powered off and it would not turn back on! I did some basic diagnostics and thought it might be power supply, so decided to have Dell repair it, because I trusted them. Paid to reinstate my warranty for the remainder of the 4th/last year $60, then also paid $127 for a support evaluation. Sent the PC to Dell with the option to expedite repairs. They supposedly repaired/replaced the motherboard to resolve. I noticed there still seemed to be something not right with sleeping and rebooting. Well, about 4 months after repair, same problem where PC would not turn on! Decided to purchase a $70 Corsair PSU and replace it myself, and so far no signs at all of weird sleep or reboot power issues. I'm disappointed in Dell support, and possibly may not purchase Dell desktop again in the future because of it.
Like many gamers who are short on money, I took one look at Dell's advantage rewards program, boasting that pre orders on popular video games would also include gift cards up to 25$. This sounded like an awesome deal, so back in September I pre ordered a game waiting for my gift card code to arrive in my email. Their website claimed we would receive it within 10-20 days. Ok, that seems a bit long but whatever, cant really complain about free money. Fast forward 20 days and still no gift card, at which point I contacted customer service, which took 3 hours for me to be connected to anyone. It was a Monday, and I'm sure they were backed up with other calls, so I'll give them a pass. However the man I talked to, named ajay, was useless and didn't no jack s#$t. He started arguing with me about how long it took for the gift card to arrive, at which point he finally, after 30 minutes of talking, said it would take 20 days after my ordered shipped for them to send it. Ok, why didn't they have that on their website? No word of it anywhere. Fast forward now to 40 days and I received my card, and it has an experation date. WTF?! What kind of gift card expires? Whatever, it expired in 4 months, plenty of time to use it. Well, this morning, a whole month before it expires, I tried to use it, and guess what? The gift card works, however the balance is 0.00$ Thats right, I never once used it, and it tells me I have no money. At this point I dont care, I'm not going to bother with customer service, but I will never buy from Dell again, and I urge you not to either.
Purchased a Dell Inspiron from the Dell site. Crazy sounds come out of it 3 months later, the processor fan is not working. Call Dell, they tell me that the processor fan is not covered under the 1 year warrenty! How convieniant! I had to pay another 50+ dollars to Dell, so I could purchase a warrently that acutally covered someting. (2) weeks waiting for a fix. (they lost a customer)
I have used dell products for many years and I can say their durability and ability to serve my need has encouraged me to offer my review to help others.
Thank you for your great innovation.
What to say when everybody knows that Dell has one of the best desktops. The quality is top notch. And I'm very pleased with the service. I'll remain a constant buyer and recommend Dell to everybody
Very reliable and long-lasting computers. Those are mostly overpriced tbh, but the quality kinda compensates it all, especially if you assemble the pc yourself, not buying it premade.
Let me start by saying, I own a Dell Laptop but didn't purchase this from Dell.com. I did however purchase a monitor from this company. When I ordered this it was a deal of the day item. I placed my order only to receive an email stating that my order was not confirmed. I contacted the company and explained that I had ordered this as a deal of the day. They told me that they did not know what I was talking about but could offer me this monitor at $15 more than what the deal had been. I ordered it because I needed the monitor. Later that year, I ordered a wireless xbox controller online that was a deal on their site. Again I received this silly email stating that my order was not confirmed. So again I called and was told that I could order this at a higher price. I laughed and told the (foreign) customer service person that I would not be ordering from this disreputable company again. As for my Dell laptop, I have had nothing but issues regarding overheating so much so that I have purchased an expensive high powered cooling fan so that my laptop won't fry. I will never again purchase a Dell anything and advise people to go elsewhere for their computer needs.
This is the second Dell product I have bought in 4yrs. The first one stopped working after 6wks. It had a Vista operating system. I had been ill for over a year, so had to update and stupidly, took the salesman in currys at his word (he said Dell laptops had seriously improved) so I purchased another. Six months later the power adapter has stopped working and I can't get a replacement anywhere. Including Dell's own helpdesk, based in India, who keep putting me through to the UK people, who advise me to go back to currys and buy an adapter (which I've done 3 times and had to return 3 times cause they don't work!) I CAN'T BUY A SUITABLE REPLACEMENT ADAPTER DIRECT FROM DELL! WHAT INSANITY IS THIS.
DO NOT BUY THEIR RUBBISH PRODUCTS. I'VE WASTED ALMOST £1000 NOW I WILL BUY FROM APPLE.
DELL DO NOT HAVE A CLUE ABOUT MAKING PRODUCTS THAT LAST OR CUSTOMER SERVICE. BE WARNED PEOPLE!
I purchased a Inspiron 16 5625 earlier this year, paying over 750 for it. It has never worked properly, and trying (and failing) to get them to fix it has been the very worst customer experience of my life.
The cursor appears and disappears, selects and deletes swaths of text all on its own, grabs tabs and windows and minimizes them and moves them around, when all I'm trying to do is move the cursor. It's been happening since I got the machine. No amount of complaining will get them to successfully repair it, replace it, or refund my money. It's an absolute nightmare of a machine.
I spent all of that money, and now I'm going to have to lay out a few hundred more to get a Chromebook so I have something I can actually work on.
This is coming from someone who has been buying Dells since the 1980's, and I have gone through a LOT of them. I learned to accept the fact that they never last long, because computers become obsolete quickly and need to be replaced for that reason anyway, but this experience is my breaking point. No one should have to put up with this kind of treatment from any company, especially one they have been loyal to for decades.
I have easily spent ten thousand dollars at that company, all told, over the years. If they would send me a defective piece of crap and refuse to make it right, how do you think they'll treat you?
Tip for consumers:
All of their customer reps appear to be required to stick to scripts. You might as well be talking to a bot even when there is a human on the other end of the conversation.

All I need to do is correct the wrong email address. Waiting on phone 1 hour and srill waiting. Transferred once to technical support only to be transferred again.
This is a summary of my recent (unfinished) business with Dell. I have a Dell printer and ordered 1 of 2 toner cartridge products suitable for my printer from the website on 13 January. Twice I was sent emails saying there was a delay and updating the delivery date. A third email came and cancelled my order (without explanation). When I raised a query I was told I had to start again. I went back to their online site and found the product I had ordered was no longer listed. I thought the cancellation might have been a Covid issue and moved on.
I then ordered on 15 February the other toner cartridge. I received back an email confirming the product purchased, the price I had paid and the delivery arrangements. This was also confirmed in a PDF attachment to the email and consistent with what I believed I had ordered. When Dell delivered the order and on opening the package, it was apparent I had not got the Toner Cartridge as I expected but an Imaging Drum which is useless to me.
There followed much back and forth with Dell "service" staff in which I provided copies of the email and PDF confirmation of my order but all this was to no avail. They didn't believe (or chose to ignore) what I had to say or their own email. They said it was customer error. I would have to return to them the wrong product before they would refund my money and I would have to start all over again.
I now don't know what to do to get my printer to work. Is it worth my while to go and try Dell a third time? Should I just throw the Dell printer in the bin and buy a different brand of printer?
I purchased a computer from Dell online, the Inspiron, for my final year of college since I found a job that would keep me from the library. THE LAPTOP IS HORRIBLE! The first issue was that it would get stuck, then there was a glitch in the screen that caused a black square, now it simply does not do anything. I have contacted customer service multiple times and the just gave me the run around. I never received information on my warranty. In fact, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE NEVER EMAILED ME BACK! I asked if the computer was refurbished before purchasing it. I even used my scholarship to purchase it. I am going to continue to spread the word about Dell because I wouldn't go to any other company like people told me. I am disappointed and disgusted!
COMPLICIT IN CONGO GENCIDE! Dell is complicit in the genocide in the Democratic Republic of Congo They support the suffering of millions of people who are killed, assaulted, displaced, and forced to mine coltan.

The whole experience was an absolute nightmare. From ordering to cancelling to price matching to shipping delays, nothing seemed to go well. I was not able to cancel my order immediately after I bought it. The email headline they sent was very deceptive and made you believe your order was cancelled… until I looked again the day after. Then on that same day that I purchased it, the price went down 30$ but they couldn't stick to their price guarantee policy either. Took several phone calls so they had to make an exception for me (worked out fine in the end but it shouldn't have to be this hard and time-consuming for them to actually stick to their policy.) Then comes the shipping delay. I desperately need it but it is still late and I have no other way to cancel / get a refund and buy elsewhere. The shipping service they use (Pilot) is no better either. I've spent so much time waiting for the website to load my information and most of the time it doesn't. But when it actually does the information is either very outdated or they are moving slower than turtles! They will not stick to their promised delivery time. Has been a very frustrating experience so far.
I guess I have been spoiled by the other businesses that actually care and take pride in their customer service. Makes you wonder why this company is still thriving. Please do yourself a favor and do not buy directly from them. Would rate zero stars if I could.

POS ALERT! BEWARE! Purchased a new laptop to work from home, less than 2 months in a key breaks off and others feel loose. I send this pos back since it was under warranty. I am told it will be a week, 2-3 weeks in there isn't a single email/update/ETA on when I can expect it back. Each conversation with these useless Indian reps goes like this: "Did you send your device already?" "The device is here for a flash drive issue?" "We are waiting for a part" "We are having technical difficulties so we are unable to see any updates" "We will call you every 48 hours and monitor the progress". They have no clue where the laptop is, or whats even wrong with it, and certainly have not made any progress with the repairs or kept their promises. Hours upon HOURS wasted on the phone with these imbeciles while I am supposed to be working! Not to mention the amount of stress and anger I have experienced because of Dell. They have not only cost me thousands in lost sales at work, but to top it off I had to go buy a brand new laptop a month before Christmas. Absolutely disgraceful company, should not be in business. Keep your trash assss laptop, I refuse to pay the remaining balance. Will NEVER buy another Dell product IN MY LIFE! Will be sure to tell every single person in my network not to make the same mistake.
This is a great laptop! Exactly what I needed and for a great price!
Once I took it out of 'S' mode, I was able to start using the browser's and apps I prefer.
Very Easy to set up and use.
I love it!
Keep in mind the number of stars I award is based the merits of the website alone. In fairness to the other reviewers that have chosen to assess the company's performance in other areas I used to own a Dell and thought it was rather low quality, at this time I have no plans to own one again.
Their site is pretty well designed. The colors go well together and the text is easy to read. There are multiple ways to view their product lines, through a menu bar system right below the mast or a set of links at the bottom of the page. A highlight are the extensive and very user forums on quite an array of subjects. They also offer several ways to get technical support, whether through their automated online system, by filling out a form and receiving an e-mail response, or via the olde timey telephone technology.
On some pages the site layout is on the verge of being too cluttered. What is a particularly egregious violation of web design best practices is the Alienware (Alienware was bought by Dell in 2006) link that unexpectedly takes you from dell.com to alienware.com. Best practices indicate you do not place a link that takes the user offsite among links that merely lead to other pages within the same website.
I bought my Dell Inspiron like 5 years ago and still don't have any little trouble with it! Given that I work in IT so my laptop works almost whole week
I was honestly surprised when the operative on the phone was so polite and stayed online with me until my problem was resolved.it is probably the first time that that has happened to me.
Horrible customer service and even worst products. Never again. Not even 6 months from purchase my computer breaks down and they won't honor their warranty. Never again!

Not worth it for the price. If you want to get a good value for your money but a Mac instead. The sale prices for the machine you receive are definitely not to your advantage

SO DISAPPOINTING_ I have always been a huge Dell fan. Working in IT, my company orders hundreds of thousands of dollars each year. All of my personal computers are Dell.
I ordered a 24" monitor thru the Dell website that had a $50 VISA promo gift card, but never rec'd it. After waiting 8 weeks for the card to arrive, I contacted Dell, after more emails and phones calls, Dell responded that the Visa gift card was an e-offer and I had to respond within 30 days to the 1 email they sent telling me this. No where did their website say this. No where on the order did it say this. Now they are telling me because I waited over 30 days to contact them there is nothing they can do,
I am so disappointed in Dell. They advertise a $50 Visa gift card and then do not make good on their offer. They say they cannot give a credit or refund. The supervisor said their was no one above her that i could speak with or anything that could be done.
Dell used to have good customer service and take care of their customers. From what I am seeing, that is no longer the case.
I bought a laptop that came with a year warranty. I had some light computer work with it, maybe 40 hours worth tops, and then the laptop shut down and wouldn't turn back on. I contacted Dell to replace. Initially, after trouble shooting, they offered to send a refurbished replacement.
I received a box a few weeks later full of desktop computer parts. I called and told them the error. It was at that point when Dell agents told me my warranty had expired. I told them that it was by error I received a box of parts and couldn't understand why I couldn't exchange the error for a laptop and why they now were saying the warranty expired. I was within the year, and provided proof with receipt. I have been attempting to get someone on the line for over a week to understand the issue and send me a replacement. To date, over and over again, all that I hear is that my warranty is expired, they no longer can exchange the laptop and have gone as far as blaming me for the error in computer parts that arrived at my door.
Never Ever Ever buy a Dell. Their service department is crude, mean, hostile and unwilling to help. There is NO INTEGRITY at Dell. Save yourself the headache and hole in your pocket.
