Dell has a rating of 1.6 stars from 533 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Dell most frequently mention customer service, tech support, and hard drive problems. Dell ranks 213th among Computer sites.
I am in love with Dell, and everything that Big Mike touches. It would be very hard for me to say anything negative about their website. The only thing I can advice is that they give it a more store-like format, and less of a PR medium. Other than that, it's all good.
I called to get information on where to access an invitation for friends/family which was super confusing, to begin with. The Dell employees are terrible at their job and do their best to try to confuse and obfuscate the correct answer. They were quick to point out that my computer was purchased two years ago. Don't they realize we have other options? Very poor management team who allows this bad service to go on. Just look at all the one star reviews.
I believe that Dell is one of the most reliable brands. I had many devices by Dell, including monitor, laptop, PC, keyboard, and each time I was more than happy about the quality. The only thing is that the prices are usually more expansive than for similar devices by other brands.
Less then a year old G15 went out, it took a month to service it and they sent it back with the keyboard not working correctly. Then they replaced they keyboard with a different color one. Customer care is horrible, and they send you around in circles if they do not hang up while you are waiting. I had a much better experience with Lenovo.
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from Dell, Lenovo is better.

My laptop has been lost in transit to Dell reparing center. It's more then a month, I still did not get help with this problem. Now support asking for previous owner information witch I don't know and can't reach the seller and don't know how to reach original owner. Its not right, I don't have to be responsible for the lost shipment, when Dell customer support ask me to ship my system no one told me in such a case I could lost my laptop forever. I been trusting Dell cumpany, but now they just scam people. I would never buy from Dell again, it's unbelievable they made me responsible for FedEx lost package
I love my Dell laptop as well as how easy it was to find the laptop I needed on dell.com. However, what I didn't love was the fact that the shipping kept getting pushed back to the point where my laptop took over 3 weeks to arrive. However, everything was intact upon arrival. I do have to comment that Dell customer service has been incredible, the last few times I've had to use it with my older laptop. When that laptop had an issue, Dell sent me a new harddrive, no questions asked. That arrived quickly, and shipping to return the old harddrive was completely free.
I called several times to get a fix. The computer ran very slowly from the start.
The company would not take responsibility of "software issues"
If I bought a car with software defects, even with say the radio, the dealer would take responsibility.

Pretty good site, allows for lots of customization - I would search for Dell coupons beforehand to make sure you're not missing out on any deals, but once you've got those, this site will let you buy any Dell computer you want with whatever options you want.
NEVER use their financing because its a ripoff. They lure you in with low interest then hit you with astronomical interest rates. I pay $196 each month but then they charge $147 each month for interest. Its a total waste of money and you pay double the price of the product

Dell Europe decided it will not offer 2 years warranty. Isnt it great?
Well in Europe we have 2 years warranty and no corporate should decide on its own above the law what it wants. I have never seen worst service, worst customer service and worst company policy. Never again Dell. Stay away as you will save yourself all trouble.
I have been a Dell customer for sometime now. My personal and Official Laptops are dell, Experience have been average. But I would like to highlight on this laptop-Dell Latitude E7440- this is a strict no, a complete no. Complaints all round and its horribly slow and performance is poor. Infact my entre organization is switching to Lenovo because of the the horrible experience of this laptop by all managers.
Pros-Slim look
Cons-Everything else, damn slow. 1month aged laptop takes 15 to 20 minutes to shut down.
I've had new dell inspiron, and old ones, I had 2 new ones, they stopped charging, the older one still work longs you keep them plugged in, but besides that, they are pretty good laptops, longs you don't unplug them when your using them, lol
So I bought this all in one PC and it is junk. I also bought the support plan for tech support. This is the slowest piece of junk ever. I took it back to where I bought it and they couldn't do anything for me (another waste of money) they told me that dell used cheap parts they were junk basically. So why would they even sell it to me with out telling me this very important info. I will never buy a Dell again. Bad support on junk
Bought Dell XPS 13 recently. Totally in love with the design of the laptop, so sleek and elegant. The frameless Infinity Edge display is the biggest turn on factor. The specifications are also quite up to the mark in the price range.
They sent me 3 defective laptops and hung up on me 3 times when I asked to speak with a supervisor and the fourth time I called the person acted like he could not hear me after requesting to speak to a supervisor. Thanks
I do not recommend this laptop at all. I bought this brand new to discover that the fan is loud, replacement parts weren't in stock which prompted Dell to send a refurbished laptop. I accepted how naively of me, and of course the blue screen of death appeared and also bit locked. Well Even though I bought this over a year ago I hung up the fight and still to this day fan is loud, slow response, and I can't believe I'm still paying for this computer. I hope someone from Dell sees this and reached out.
Tip for consumers:
Go to a place where you can actually see and speak with someone to test drive the equipment

I bought an laptop from them and honestly I liked it, so far didn't had any major problems with it. I am using it every day for a job and personal stuff, so I am using it a lot. Like most of comments that I read here, I didn't liked customer service that much. Overall average

After waiting four weeks, and trying for a week to find out why my charge cord wasn't delivered, I gave up!
I left Dell notification that I was cancelling my order, and if I didn't hear from them on Monday that they were processing my refund, I would contact my bank for a charge reversal.
Dell emailed first thing on Monday! This proves that my previous inquiry messages were being ignored.
I ordered the cord on Amazon on Sunday, received it on Wednesday, is sturdier and it took less time to receive, than it took to receive an answer from Dell why my order wasn't processed.

Inspiron 13-5000 charge cord
Issues - 2 duds laptops, battery doesn't work for long, machine gets very hot causing faults, the on/off button in awkward place, the cord is damaged easily due to it not having an angled end, poor customer service, long delays in receiving parts and unable to get details of when I will receive my order.
My first Inspiron 13 would not start, Dell support could not resolve, it was replaced. DWQ32DZ
My second Inspiron 13 worked for a few days, it died, it was replaced. 11KW3F2
My third Inspiron 13 worked for around a year, it overheated badly, the battery died (not covered) it was repaired. 7KBT3F2
The battery died in about a year, it's not covered under warranty and is internal so someone from Dell has to fix it.
The cord was damaged from the design. Rather than have angled connection, it sticks straight out and easily damaged. Dell are the only ones a cable can be sourced from.
26/02/22 – I ordered a replacement charge cord. It has not been received. I have no idea what is going on! When a company outsources "Customer Care" (CC), care is always the first casualty. My calls to CC result in fob offs.
23/03/22 - I called received an email just after midnight that someone would re-book my order and get back to me. I phoned Dell and couldn't get an answer on what was happening, it seemed to be an overseas person, I had problems understanding. I was told I would be called back. I still don't know what the problem is.
25/03/22 – Is a Malaysia call centre, even the (02) 9930 3355 number is the call centre, is a brick wall. Customer Service won't put me through to anyone in Australia. Cut off being put through to Manasa Muralidhar. I called again was told I would be called back in 1-2 hours. I have been sending many emails and calling all week, still can't find out if my cable will be sent. I wasn't called back again then I received an email asking for my address and phone number. The address was listed on my order. I left many messages to be called back and never was, so they wouldn't know my phone number!
26/03/22 – I placed an online request for cancellation and refund because I couldn't find out if I would ever receive my cable. ******* & ******* and emailed.
Can you do without your laptop for over a month?
You can only use a Dell charge cord, this is a major problem, so we are at Dell's mercy!
I would never purchase another Dell product.
Tip for consumers:
can't upload PDF files, most invoices are in PDF format.

Cancelled the order, gave up trying, just a waste of time!
Bought a dell inspiron 96 days ago, per support tech, and already pc is running extremely slow. Contacted support and tech said I had to pay for a higher level of support or upgrade. Asked to return pc and that's when I was told that the purchase was 96 days ago and out of the return window. Now I'm paying for a computer I can't use. Jokes on me.
I brought the inspiron 15 and I'm so happy with it. Its amazing and its the best laptop ive ever brought and I really mean that. For my college it is perfect. Fast, not heavy and takes a while to over heat. Only thing that could be improved is the battery life.
I ordered a soundbar system worth $324.33. I told representative to use $290 worth Gift Card and charge remaining balance on my card. She confirmed me that she used $290 from GC and remaining $34.33 will be charged on my CC. After 2 days, I see my CC was charged $324.33 and my gift cards were not used at all. When I called them about this, the online representative told me that the charge has already been processed and cannot be change and told me to use my Gift Cards for some other products of theirs. This is my second worst experience with them where first they sent my parcel at wrong even though I verified my address twice with the online representative.
Zero stars is my actual vote. The battery in my laptop never worked on this supposedly brand new, high powered laptop purchased at the end of July 2023. I complained from the first day to our IT company. They called Dell, and it was 31 days after the purchased so no trade for a new one, but under their "service' the replaced the battery after 3 hours on the phone, still doesn't hold a charge, so they replaced the mother board, after ANOTHER 2 hours on the phone. And the laptop shuts off every hour or so, so i have to restart all my apps. The technican said that sounds like a microsoft issue on the day he replaced the mother board, and left. 2weeks later i am waiting for ANOTHER mother board replacement - and they will get to me when they can. Maybe in a day or two, after they cancelled their appointment to fix it last week, and then they were supposed to come today. I have been very patient, but I'm done. NEVER buy a Dell.

Do you know why the reviews on the Dell website are mostly positive? They're written by Dell. You can't leave a review unless you install their proprietary bloatware! Isn't that nice! Oh, and you can't leave a review more than a few weeks after your purchase, so when it breaks and their (complete lack of) customer service won't help you? You're on your own, AND you can't warn anyone about their garbage products or garbage customer service.
I don't care what kind of deal you think you are getting. Avoid Dell.
Tip for consumers:
Don't. Just don't buy things from Dell.

Sadly, there is no way to return a Dell laptop once you buy it online. You get the answering machine run around when you try to have a return lable sent to you so you can ship the product back to them. They make you run out of your 30-day money back guarantee by transferring you to a number that has a message to call back in one hour. We have called them and requested a return label online, for two weeks now, and we are running out of time to return the laptop that cost us a $1000 dollars. Don't ever buy online if you think you may need to return an item to Dell.com
Laptop arrived with an irritating keyboard ghosting problem. Sent it in for repair. Dell took TWO MONTHS to send me a replacement. The replacement had the exact same keyboard issue.
I asked for a refund. Dell said that my order was ineligible for refund per their 30-day policy... yes, even though I had actually held the laptop for 4 days total, the ~60 days it had spent in their repair shop apparently counted towards the ticking refund clock.
Abhorrent behavior. I wouldn't be surprised if they kept my laptop that long *so* that they could deny me a refund.
They said I had to wait around a week and a half to 2 1/2 weeks to receive it and then after that they made me wait another three weeks because after that one and a half to 2 1/2 weeks was just to process my order and they say it wasn't even processed up until the 2 1/2 week mark so which means it's probably not even going to be here at the end of the three weeks. I'm just really pissed off at this because I have been wanting a computer for pretty much my whole life. I've never made enough money to get one and now I have the opportunity to get one. I have to wait two months because you lied to me I'm just tired of all those bull$#*!

Dell has the ability to delete your emails, and access your computer directly. Purchased a software from them and they deleted my license code for that software and they said it was due to security of the license key, and then they sent me another key and immediately deleted that key also after 1 week. They will hack and access your computer. Your computer will begin to blue screen as soon as your warranty has expired. I couldn't believe that this was possible but it is. Find an alternative company to use for you computer needs.
