I am in love with Dell, and everything that Big Mike touches. It would be very hard for me to say anything negative about their website. The only thing I can advice is that they give it a more store-like format, and less of a PR medium. Other than that, it's all good.
I called to get information on where to access an invitation for friends/family which was super confusing, to begin with. The Dell employees are terrible at their job and do their best to try to confuse and obfuscate the correct answer. They were quick to point out that my computer was purchased two years ago. Don't they realize we have other options? Very poor management team who allows this bad service to go on. Just look at all the one star reviews.
They canceled my order on sale and provided bogus reasons for the cancellation like "your card denied authorization," even though I confirmed with my credit card company that this is false. I told Dell this fact, and they said that the credit card said there was a fraud alert. Again, I confirmed with the credit card company that this was false. I asked them to process the order, and then they cancelled it anyways. Dell offers deals and then renegs on the sale... bait and switch with lies to explain away their behavior. Never again.
Tip for consumers:
Don't rely on their sales. They might bait you in with them, but they don't always honor them and they may cancel your order for no reason. Just because. Then you're out of luck.....better get your computer from a company that actually honors their sales.
I waited to purchase a black Friday bargain last night, the offer started at midnight, I sat ready to pounce with the atomic clock on one screen, at exactly midnight when the offer opened. I purchased with the voucher code of save140. And my basket reflected the discount correctly, I then clicked purchase in seconds, my purchase was confirmed I was then directed to the secure pay site for payment, surprise surprise all I got was the posted server busy message, and when I managed to next log on the offer was over.
Thank you DEll for this amazing scam, you should be ashamed of your self, I will never buy another dell again. Mike
I was fooled by your offer once again.
The Dell is one of the best companies for business. It has provided the quality products like, Mouse CPU, and more instruments related to the computer. The company is an information technology company. It has to provide the technology solution to worldwide. It is sale the peripherals including the monitors, printer, projector etc.
Bought a xps 15 and it took almost 2 months. Ths to get it. Paid 6k for it and it was stuck with them for 2 months. They did not specify on their website that they build it in China and ship it over. Very dodgy. Kept delaying the order citing lack of parts will be taking it up to consumers affair misleading the public.
Since long time i am using the laptop of dell company which is really good in design and many colour has in this to purchase because i have 3 laptop of dell. Good performance battery to use and it is very light to catch also and in my opinion dell company of laptop is best from other company of laptop.
I am so disappointed with the warranty and customer service department for Dell. The customer service department was rude when I was trying to figure out why my laptop that is less than a year old didn't have the accident damage coverage that is included in the price. I feel like they website was misleading. I don't get the warranty coverage because I didn't click on a box saying I wanted it? Who wouldn't want a warranty that is included? They kept transferring me to different departments. Then hung up on me. My purchase may not be important to DELL, but it is a big purchase for me.
I ordered a new Dell XPS 15 on July 15, and it said it shipped on July 21, and would be delivered on July 28. Then they said it was coming from Asia, and would be a min of 14 days to get to the US, at which time I would get updated tracking info from Fedex and when it actually would be delivered. I was charged on July 21 for the laptop. No updates have been posted since that time, and every time I reach out to customer support, they give me the runaround, saying they will escalate the ticket, and will hear from logistics support. But no one has a reached out to me, and I don't have a laptop in time for school. But they have my money. Expect long delivery times or Dell laptops since they are all coming form Asia, and if you need it fast, don't order from Dell. The receive date they give is bogus, since there is no way they can get it to the US in under 14 days.
Shame on you Dell. Horrible customer service.
I ordered my son in law a 27" monitor last year for Christmas in white. And another this year for Christmas but accidentally got the wrong color. I ordered on Nov 20th. It arrived on Nov 23rd. I chatted this morning about an exchange and was told that you don't offer exchanges passed the 30 days from the order date.
Every major retailer offers extended returns and exchanges at Christmas. And, it's the DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS, not 15 days or 30 days. I don't want my money back, just a different color for the same price I paid. It's $50 more now.
I could have exchanged it had I purchased it at Best Buy or any other retailer that carries Dell.
Greedy. I have purchased three PCs and two large monitors from you but will no longer purchase any Dell products.
XPS notebook - I bought the new XPS notebook and it is the most amazing, lightweight notebook I have ever seen. I would recommend getting it with the cingular or verizon card to get the high speed internet. Otherwise if you get it from verizon/cingular it won't be built in and it sticks out of the slick laptop. I'd also recommend the 7200 rpm drives... they are still really quiet and so much faster.
Bought a DELL Vostra 3400 laptop that is currently under warranty. They have been unable to resolve the problem and refuse to replace the laptop after at least 8 hours in total o f lost work time due to them using it as a guineau pig.
In April, I ordered a webcam on Dell.com. When I made an order, I was aware that delivery would be done in July. I thought that this took too long, I tried to cancel my order.
After that, I received one email from DELL saying "Your order has not been cancelled. We regret to inform you that some or all of the items in this order couldn't be cancelled. If you'd still like to cancel this order, you can contact Dell Care agent at *******897 and we'll be happy to help."
When my cancellation request was rejected, I did not call them and I just accepted this situation. I have been waiting on July since then, and I contacted DELL to make sure delivery date of this. DELL answered me that my order was cancelled because I requested.
What the DELL! I was hoping to reinstate my order but DELL said Nah! So sad. I just wasted my time 3 months and lost my chance to buy this on other site. DELL is so shameless and the worst customer service ever ever maybe forever.
The Dell Concierge tech service is pricy but you get a year of follow-up for your problems. They solved the tech issues with virus hiding in another program and then spppeded up computer... Good job... RDK
I always trusted and like the brand DELL. A few weeks ago I ordered a laptop as a gift for my son, today I went on the website to check on the status. I was very surprised that the order was canceled. Nobody informed me about that on email, or messages. Despite the fact that the order was canceled, I don't have any money back on my bank account. Nobody called me and ask if I wanted to change my order or offer any other product. Very russian style of business, I didn't I expect such of behavior from a respected company.
Tip for consumers:
The product itself is good but look other place rather than dell's website because of the customer service.

I purchased a Dell Inspiron in December of 2013. Within the first 2 weeks, the mother board and CD drive had to be replaced.
I also have a battery that won't charge and today the display started failing and going black. This is my 3rd Dell and each one I get is worst than the one before. I called Dell one day after my warranty ran out to talk to them and they won't speak to you without money. I tried to get to a manager but they just transferred me around for 45 minutes and I finally gave up.
Today I purchased my second HP laptop, I know the service will be better and I the hardware can't be worst. I also talked one of my friends out of buying the Dell she was going to buy.
Ordered XPS. Was promised 3-5 day delivery. Received PC 5 wks later. They sent a lower spec model (3.4Ghz instead of 4.0Ghz) that most people would not have noticed. I had to speak to and write to over 10 Dell people ( most of whom had very bad English) in 4 wks before Getting a refund. All ten made promises they did not keep. Eventually I had to contact my CC company to put pressure on them. All the support team do is put you through to a different person. They are experts at saying "sorry" and you will get apologized to non stop. Taking any other action other than to apologize is beyond them. Great XPS PC but not worth the hassle of dealing with Liars and con artists.
I've had my dell inspiron 11 3000 for almost 2 years now and it still works as great as the day i got it. It's small enough and light enough that i can literally take it anywhere, and the laptop-to-tablet capability is beyond handy. The keyboard is just the right size, not squished up like some small laptops do. The touchpad is a little sensitive, BUT it has a right-side usb so i can plug my mouse in (i'm more comfortable with a mouse anyway) without worrying about the cord being long enough or getting all twisted around the computer. Overall love this thing. First dell but will definitely buy another when this one wears out!
The pricing of a lot of the items are really well. However i dont like it that you then find out the item isnt shipping for 5-6 weeks. They shouldnt really be showing these items. Show whats shipping now and not later. Overall though, pricing is good and when they do have it it ships fast.
Tip for consumers:
Just watch for shipping.

Tried doing trade in with Dell and they have the worst trade in Value of their own product, worst you have to wait for the Trade in credit few days after before you can use it to purchase a new device. So much for encouraging people to consider recycling old devices in favor of new ones. Other companies like APPLE will give you better value when you trade in and can use the credit the same day.
I work for Discovery we have around 1000 machines, i have so many issues to just get in touch with Dell on UK, We already move to Lenovo, they lost a good contract with us, just because they just make our life complicated on each request. We are a dynamic company and we need quick response.
Recently bought a dell machine in February 2022/ Problems with Touchpad and shimmering curser. Tried all steps to correct including taking into repair centre 2 times which did not resolve the problem. This purchase was replaced with a new machine which also had problems with the fan and touchpad. Sent for repair where they could not source the replacement parts in time. Basically paid circa £1150 for a machine not fit for purpose. Extremely disappointed with the product. I am sure somewhere in the process of manufacture there is a breakdown in quality. From my experience, paid a Rolls Royce price for a product which failed. Couldn't currently recommend a Dell product based on my experience.
I wouldn't pay $5 for their laptop. Nope, I paid a lot more, and I just couldn't believe how lousy the screen, case and keyboard are. Worthless! Made in China and Mexico. All customer support in El Salvador, India and the Philippines. Dell appears to be in tight with Microsoft, so forced to go with MS 10 which is the worst possible operating system, thus, making the whole laptop worse than junk. I wouldn't use the laptop if Dell paid me. Since I had purchased two Dell laptops in the past 20 years, I have to say that the company has gone way downhill below grade. Just crap. I felt totally defrauded. And, even worse, it's been 7 weeks since I returned the junk to Dell and fully cancelled all parts of the Order, and still Dell hasn't bothered to refund my money. So outrageous! I would have gone with HP, but look at what Carly Fiorini did to HP. Shameful.
Tip for consumers:
Dell has the return, but will keep my money for 30 days. How is that legal?
I bought a Alien Ware Aurora R12 gaming pc for $1700. Dell shipped it with FedEx. I never received the package, I never received an email that it was delivered. I called FedEx they told me to call Dell. They told me to call FedEx. No one has a straight answer it's been weeks I'm out $1700 and I have no Pc.
Least resilient machine on the market. I've had 3 different Dell machines, all couldn't last over a year. Compared to an HP that survived a deployment and many years of use and it's fair share of drops or a MacBook that has been through similar antics as my HP. Dell doesn't compare to its competitors, its garbage. Go Mac or HP or Acer or pretty much anything other than Dell.
Now it makes a very very bad sound. My son-in-law has tried to fix it but he couldn't even though he is the main large employee for Big Red Communications here in Nebraska. Although he is the main large employee from the internet, he also has learned a lot about fixing computers.
I owned two Dells, one was custom built. They both failed right at the 18 month mark. Just died. No explanation, no reason, no malware just died. I thought it was odd that they both died at 18 months, right on time. I love the look and feel of their products but having had this experience I can't justify spending the money on another one. They aren't cheap. Just do your research and purchase carefully would be my advice regarding Dell laptops.
