I'm a new user. Never sold clothes online before. I posted some shoes. And then get banned with no reason and no notice. Customer service won't tell you anything or help you. They just say "final correspondence".

You would be better off giving your clothes to the homeless for a better feeling than being scammed. It was fine at first the fees are ridiculous and they accuse you of violating policy and don't prove anything but delete your account.

I'm all for sustainability and recycling! I'm also a sucker for thrifting and vintage pieces, all of my favourite clothing items were from here, never encountered a troublesome seller or problems with shopping, etc. Experience is great and I got my moneys worth

I sold a brand new pair of shoes. Buyer asked for a refund, claiming that she didn't wear them, that they were too small. I allowed the refund if shoes were not worn and still new. She sent them back worn, scratched and completely damaged. I immediately notified Depop (with photos of the damaged shoes) and got no response. I've sent them multiple emails. The buyer got a refund. I am here to warn you, this app is crap!

Tip for consumers:
Avoid Depop app at all costs. Literally.

Having bought and sold on ebay for years with an extremely low percentage of problems, I am very quickly disappointed with the percentage of problems as a buyer on depop within a very short time of joining. Have just had a third purchase paid for in full responded to as unable to sell. The first was misplaced in moving (admittedly this seller's communication lovely and I do believe I will get the item at some stage) but then a second seller refunded me saying she has lost the item and today a third seller has refunded me, but only partially (!) saying she can't afford to post internationally. I have also received numerous items, not slightly, but disgustingly dirty and stained when not stated as such. In my experience Ebay delivers "as described" reliably, Depop does not. I have never had a seller not complete a paid for purchase on Ebay.

Depop is definitely one of the worst shopping apps out there. Not only is Depop full of scammers, the customer service is absolute garbage. I was never sent the items I purchased, and when I contacted Depop asking for a refund, the customer service was very unprofessional and rude. They didn't even try to offer any help, and had PayPal deal with the issue, which took 30 days. I definitely would not recommend this app. Stay away from it. There are so many other alternative shopping websites and apps that are ran much more professionally.

The app it's self is ok. We used depop for around a year had quite a lots of followers and sales but have now closed our shop due to the staff and the buyers. The staff are petty and unprofessional. If you disagree with them they will remove you from the weekly stats email. That's really how petty they are. You can't feel safe selling on depop as depop and PayPal will always side with the buyer, regardless of wether or not the buyer is a scammer. I would give 0 stars if I could.

This app has no protection for their sellers. I sold an item as USED and the buyer said it wasn't as described. Depop took their side and I owed them money. The seller paid way under asking them I had to end up paying them back. Don't sell on here. Better luck on eBay.

Depop owes me a refund on the fee they charge due to me having to refund a buyer. It's all through PayPal and neither platform knows how the other words. (Like why?) You have to issue refund via PayPal and Depop won't refund their fee taken from you back until YOU reach out and request it (Dumb). I have emailed this company MULTIPLE times and they still have yet to remedy the situation and return MY money. I sent all proof needed and I keep getting the run around from incompetent agents who don't even read my emails it seems. This company sucks. I'm a 5 star seller and have sold nearly 100 items and they do this. They've made plenty money off of my sales and can't refund a $12.83?! Oh, and the fees are way to high now. Stay away.

They will allow people to sell their used underwear, solicit sex, and reference their only fans, but banned me because I used a few stock photographs of items I was selling that are new. I don't always have the time to go take photos of the items I'm selling and have never had any return requests or bad reviews but they banned me. This site stated that because my use of stock photos that they value creativity and wanted me to take new pictures of everything on my account and that they would not allow me to have my account back. My stock images are my own and don't infringe on any copyright and are from my other selling sites and I use them for all my sales but they just just said nope. So apparently take $#*!ty photos and videos of your stuff and they will let you sell on there. Stupidest selling site I've ever had to deal with. These photos I have given as reference that are mine to use are too good and so they banned me for them even though it's my product and items I've made.

Tip for consumers:
Stay away if you have professional photos of your sales items.

I had sold so much on depop and always put up with there ridiculous fee and then out of no where they just deleted my account with no warning and then refused to let me contact the people who I'd sold the items to to let them know they had been posted. The staff are so rude and care for nothing than themselves. Someone invent a better platform!

Sellers be aware. This company is awful. Buyers will buy your product, use them and will ask to return back saying the description didn't match. Paypal will take buyers side and will ask you to pay full refund. Depop charged 10% selling fee which you have to incur. On top of that you pay more by refunding and you are not getting back the selling fee and shipping charges. It's a scam. Please don't sell items there as paypal will never take your side.

I'm quite new to Depop, having only purchased 10 or so items from it. I always check the reviews of the person I am buying from and make sure they never have less than 4 stars. There was a time when I needed to make a claim that I had not received my item and when offered a refund, the individual asked for bank details. Because this doesn't follow Depop guidelines and I don't like giving out bank details to anyone, I made a claim on the Help/Support function of the app. I received a reply just 4 hours after I sent off my report - amazing! The reply I got was very informing, very helpful and very friendly! I am impressed such a large company is so efficient and am very appreciative of their quick response.

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. They are stealing from people. DO NOT SHOP HERE. If you're stellar doesn't sent you the right item, Depop will not help you. You are stuck paying for the item AND the shipping to return the item. So far, I have no refund. I've done everything they've asked and still nothing. Thank goodness I didn't buy something more expensive but it's the principal. SAVE YOUR MONEY! There's a lot of better ways to indulge in vintage pieces.

Returns are not free, you have no rights as a buyer, your money is not protected

Several of my purchases were lost or stolen even though they were marked as "delivered". Although they say they have buyer protection, Depop and Paypal can do nothing to help you if it was marked as delivered so you will lose money. Not worth it!

Don't use Depop or Paypal if you item is likely to get lost or stolen.

(I've sold 5 things and they still consider me a "new" seller) I sold something and still haven't gotten my payment after a MONTH and another one that was supposed to be available today (10 business days = 2 weeks later) and that one still won't let me get paid even though it literally says today is the date. I am so annoyed and don't understand why everyone loves Depop so much. I have all my information set up on the app so I don't understand why I'm still waiting

I had an issue with my payment for an order due to my account getting hacked. Depop was 0 help. They took 10 days to reply to me, and gave me half assed responses. Just go sell on postmark or eBay instead. This app is trash and run by lazy people who don't care about your money.

Worst experience as seller keep taking down listing that are genuine and is in line with there t&cs although there are thousands who breach it everyday. When you try to prove to them that you are right they give there automated response like 'decision is final' 'after careful consideration' what a joke. There customer service team are just pure awful not even sure why they have one better off without them. Best thing happened this year was when I got suspended with no real reason and youll see there response as 'taken after deep investigation and consideration' don't make me laugh.

Not to mention the app is full of scammers and frauds they need taking down but nop depop is after those who try to use there app honestly.

Loads of selling and buying app out there don't bother with this s***

Depop has no actual rules, just vague "guidelines" that they "enforce" because they have some kind of bizarro issue with whatever you're doing. If you write that "x" brand collaborated with other brands or band toured with other artists, you are "misusing hashtags" (which you can only use 5 of to begin with). I had 740 sold items over three years, 400 reviews as five stars and had built up a substantial amount of followers and they deleted my account over that. Absolute nonsense.

Depop deactivated my account because someone messaged me about paying for an item outside of the app. I never bought the item, but apparently the messages from the seller were enough proof that I did.

Depop then told me my account would be reinstated after a 7 day ban. I told them where to stick the account, and that I would not entertain the idea of using them again if they can treat genuine customers like this.

It's their loss, I'm selling things on facebook marketplace and gumtree now (no selling fees)

I would advise anyone not to use depop, as they are very untrustworthy and will delete your account for no apparent reason (I was lucky, I didn't have any current transactions with them so I did not lose any money)

Awful awful awful. No seller protection at all, even when an item is sent tracked if the buyers claims they take the money back out your account and you're left without the sold item and without the money for it. They just take the money without saying! DO NOT USE! I've had much better service with Vinted and EBay

Delete accounts for no reason or warning - I had my account falsey deleted numerous times, they always reactivated it after harassing the customer service team (because they barely respond to emails) but would keep making up excuses to delete the account. They do not support small businesses if you exist outside of Depop, because they only care about making money (10% fee is ridiculous) and if they see you with your own platforms to sell they will try and get rid of your Depop account because they are greedy. Customer service team are rude, unprofessional, accusatory and ignore emails - very normal to have to chase up multiple times. Depop offer NO protection, it's all Paypal so if Paypal make a decision against you Depop won't do anything. However, the app is great if you're looking for over priced charity shop items.

I'm absolutely disgraced to find my account has been shut down for nothing! You can contact them again and again but won't get a reply. All they do is ignored you. There's users on there breaking so many rules but their account still remains open and able to sell. May be favouritism to say the least. I'm going to be taking this further as I can see that they've done this to alot of people so I will not be leaving it.

Bad experience, little to no seller protection and got falsely accused of not shipping out the item when i had done so. Depop didnt do anything to help except to give me a negative paypal balance. Prior to that, my payment was being held for weeks. Experience was a bad one and not recommended. Additionally, some people there can be pretty mean, not all though. Do stay away!

My account was banned for using 'hashtags and keywords', even though none of my posts had either at the time of banning. In an attempt to rectify the situation, I emailed them asking for evidence of what I had done wrong. They completely ignored my request and sent multiple rude, dismissive and frankly nasty emails back. As other users have mentioned, each time someone different emails you so you can't progress the conversation at all. Considering I have made them a fair bit of money over the years (they got 10% of all my sales - a complaint for another time), I feel incredibly disappointed by the shocking customer service. They treat regular users like 'a danger to the community' (something they actually called me after accusing me of using keywords). Meanwhile 90% of users on depop use stock photos, keywords and hashtags for visibility. An all round evil and careless company.

I was a loyal Depop seller for almost 2 years. I had almost 500 sales and was one month away from hitting my sales goals and making top seller, when Depop terminated my account. After emailing them back and forth over 30 times, they basically said "sorry, nothing we can do about it". I had 350+ 5 star reviews and almost 10k followers. They don't care about the sellers at all. My entire income was taken away because of one mistake. They're run by Etsy and their new management has HORRIBLE seller protection. Do yourself a favor and don't sell here.
