I'm a new user. Never sold clothes online before. I posted some shoes. And then get banned with no reason and no notice. Customer service won't tell you anything or help you. They just say "final correspondence".
Twice items have been ordered thru depop site. Twice we were told by the seller, "there's a problem at the post office". 2 different sellers. Wouldn't share the tracking #, because there wasn't one, they never shipped anything out. Went thru PayPal to get the money back. Shady as hell people
They take 10% off the top and then another 6% of sales. As a seller providing free shipping to buyers you are penalized with the extra 6% fee because you choose to buy postage through USPS instead of selecting the marked-up-in-price "depop shipping" options. It's the same USPS Ground Advantage service it just costs more though depop. So as punishment for refusing to utilize the marked-up shipping, they gouge you with a flat 6% rate for having the nerve. They call it a "payment fee". The actual app does not tell the seller that they'll be charged more for not buying overpriced depop USPS labels. Enhanced click-n-ship rates at USPS are much cheaper than what depop charges for the same USPS service and weight shipping.

My daughter used this site to buy from a seller. Product did not arrive, she tried to resolve with the seller, however was told by the seller that she had no responsibility after posting the item, she did not provide refunds and did nothing to resolve the issue. Depop did not do anything apart from side with the seller and removed my daughter review. Buyer beware, these are private sellers, and you appear to have no rights as a customer. If you do not receive your goods the only recourse is to claim via paypal (if you have used it), if the goods are not of the nature or substance expected and they seller has stated no refunds you appear to have nowhere to go based on our experience
Team depop unjustly deleted my selling account which I had put a lot of effort time and money into, I hadn't done any of the things they said they'd deleted it because of and they didn't bother to respond to any of my emails of complaint! The app also crashes loads and the customer service is dreadful. I now know Lots of people have had similar experiences. So overall don't bother wasting your time.
I was selling a lot of things on Depop. I had over $500 of funds in my Depop account that they are currently holding. They closed my account and won't release my funds. I am very upset and disappointed as I was looking forward to getting that money so I can pay my bills. I also offered free shipping so that was a lot of money lost from me because I had to pay shipping and not just any service. It was Fedex next day service. I don't recommend selling through Depop because if you violate a policy, they will not warn you but automatically ban your account and close it. I am going to fight them for that money I worked so hard for.
DON'T BUY, DON'T SELL - i had been 5-6 years on depop selling and buying and never had any big issues, until the past months... i kept receiving warning even if it not me who would ask to pay outside the app (and didnt accept because scared they would close my account lol), than receiving another warning when i was talking to my sister on the app, removing item without notice, etc etc... and then today i was updating my posts and they just decided to ban me without notice/reason. I lost 5 years of works building my little online shop and clientele just like that. I have send them emails, and they don't even reply. They don't care about people.
How is it legal for a site to keep money that does not belong to them? I understand if they block you (even with out warning which is very poor) but to keep money that has been earnt by legitimate sales is theft surely?
Anyone else experiencing this problem? If so, have they given them the money that has been saved in the depop account?
I tried signing up for Depop. I downloaded the app, entered my phone number (which seemed very suspicious), then i was sent a text message with a log in code to finish setting up the app. When i got to the end of the set up it said "an error has occurred" and i was not able to finish my account set up. I tried it the next day as well and the same thing happened. I also tried it on a computer instead of my iphone. Same thing happened. This app just seems to be used to gather phone numbers. I am concerned now that they have my phone number.
I see the reviews and they seem a little intense. I've been very lucky where I have not had any issued both on the buyer and seller side. I love the community drawn to the app and have score so many goodies.

Depop obviously does think a hole is good condition as they would not refund and were not interested.
Have read so many bad reviews - wish I had seen the reviews before making a purchase. So I add mt review to warn others not to use this company.
I got hacked by scammers on this site. They stole my credit card details and tried 4 times to withdraw money from my mastercard. They were professional scammers I closed my mastercard and closed my banking so they could not attempt to steal again I am reporting them to the fruad team

You will end up owing more in fees than they claim up front. The users constantly follow/unfollow you in some sort of attempt to built a following. It's REALLY annoying. If they were selling something people wanted to begin with, they wouldn't have to scam people into following them. Also, I tried to reverse a sale and a customer got abusive with me for no real reason. The people on this site think they're hot sh*t and have an attitude problem. Closing my account...
They deleted my account and accused me of selling counterfeit items and and stamps (fake currency) when I challenged them on this and asked for evidence of it. They brushed me off and sent me the same generic email over and over. When I asked for it to be taken further they refused. Beware and don't use this platform at all!

The customer service is a scam. This is completely ridiculous of being not responsive and complete useless for the customer service. I'm the seller and it suspended my account claimed that for some unacceptable reason and refund my money to clients even I sent out the item with tracking provided! This is the worst customer service ever
My son bought a pair of sneakers and the merchant said they were shipped to a po box that us bull$#*!. Meanwhile the usps said the package that was sent and the lost, weighed 8 ounces. Will be doing whatever it takes to get my son a refund.
Depop have removed my listings many times due to incorrect hashtags and keywords. I have emailed them many times to ask them to educate me and explain what exactly I am doing wrong. How will I know which words are the offending words if they don't tell me (there are no brand names). They simply ignore me. I really don't understand how they expect sellers to continue to sell on their app if they have such a poor level of service. If Depop want to succeed long term, they really will need to listen to buyers - after all, this is how Depop make their money. Without the buyers, Depop have nothing. Simon Beckerman, take note, if you want long term success, train your customer service team, or maybe invest in taking on more staff if resourcing is an issue. At the moment, you are really failing.
I have only recently switched from eBay as seller and started using depop. I find it easy to navagate fast and simple to load. Great presentation and lots of customers. I am actually very excited to work in this site.

I made my FIRST AND ONLY purchase on depop and it was a scam. Someone hacked into an existing account and sold me something that wasn't even for sale- they were able to prove authenticity but they had no intention of selling the product.So I have lost out on money and they are unable to help. I never write bad reviews, I generally give them the benefit of doubt but in this case their security wasn't good enough to spot this issue and therefore i have missed out. You're better off buying something off somewhere else when you know you'll actually receive the product or receive good customer service...
They will allow drop shipping, replica items, misused tags, and stock photos across the entire platform, but if you end up being an unlucky seller your account will be deleted with no previous warning and they will not release any of your money and claim that it's for security reasons.
I sold for three years and never had an issue, they claimed my deactivation for was one reason and then changed the reason mid email chain. Their customer support will only give you vague, copy & paste answers with little to no help or information. I had over $400 waiting to be deposited in their Depop Payments and they said they will not be releasing any of it. A COMPLETE SCAM.

Depop is the absolute worst resale app I've used. They don't think it's important to protect their buyers from fraudulent sellers who lie in listings and list counterfeit, used items when listed as new and name-brand. I opened a dispute with PayPal, which was escalated to a claim. I WON the PayPal claim and got my money back (PayPal closed the claim in my favor because the seller was very clearly in the wrong, and i had ample photo evidence), and Depop decided to suspend MY account instead of the fraudulent seller! I wasn't going to use Depop ever again anyways, but it's nice to know that Depop supports fraudulent sellers over their buyers.

Don’t use Depop to shop for clothing. They are not a trustworthy company. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere like through The Real Real, or a different reputable resale app/company. It’s not worth your time to deal with their incompetent “customer service team” if a problem arises.

I used to love Depop but now I absoloutley hate it! The team are just absolutely ridiculous they rob money from you from the fees when you refund people and they don't give it you back they speak to u like crap don't $#*! down peoples accounts when they've scammed people but shut down mine for abusive Behavior towards somebody but would no show me any proof or tell me who the altercation was with they continued to patronise me they have no consideration towards people with mental health issues they are a disgraceful unprofessional disgrace of a company who should be shut down because they simply do not deserve to reap the benefits.
It's been 12 days since I posted evidence for them to refund me the money they stole from me and they just keep ignoring me now!

I recently sold an item to this person for about 50$. The dude said it wasn't "Authentic" though I provided proof of purchase from a trustable site that I ordered it from. The support didn't help much at all. They banned me for basically no reason. Completely sided unfairly with the buyer and was unprofessional towards me, said I was uncooperative even though I was not in the slightest. I asked questions and they were barely answered, left with more questions than I began with. The support team gas lighted me. Said that I didn't provide authenticity within the 48 hr time frame, when I sent it under 24hrs after I received the email. Overall I'm never coming back to this app, horrible horrible experience and I will never even touch the app ever again. Poshmark and grailed are better

Don’t sell on depop too many scammers
After hearing that some people used this platform to sell their unwanted items, we thought we'd give it a go too. All our items had invoices & receipts.
After making a complaint about a scammer we had our account closed.
We then attempted to open another after seeing a multitude of other accounts saying they used to operate under one account but DePop deleted them. This account was then deleted by DePop.
It appears that if you are a law abiding person with legitimate items DePop doesn't support you.
If you want to scam, money launder, break the law then DePop is the place for you.
This "company" is clearly run by scammers who don't abide by the laws in the countries they operate.
If you are a genuine person for the love of god don't bother with this waste of space. They're bullies who align themselves with common thieves.
Not worth the effort.
Oh and they ensure that they're not register under the BBB or Trading Stabdards. That in itself is a telltale sign!
0 stars if I could. The Depop customer service is an absolute JOKE. Not only are they rude asf but its literally multiple staff answering/addressing your email not one! So disorganized! My account got banned due to a hashtagging issue which I deeply apologized and thought it was fine since so many other sellers do the same. The lady I first encountered Harley, was disgustingly rude and said I was a threat to the platform? Until I pointed out I had ongoing orders that I needed to fulfill they changed my account to a 3 SUSPENSION. I have also been having issues with the fee, why is there such a large fee taken?! Others selling platforms do not take as much as Depop. This situation has made it very hard for me to want to continue supporting Depop by selling and buying there what a shame.
They will ban your account for the dumbest reasons and when you reach out to customer service, they are either unhelpful copy/paste responses or are extremely condescending to you. Good luck maintaining your app if you just ban everyone lol. Poshmark and Mercari are better anyway.
