Charging credit card prior to expiration of free trial.
I signed up for a 7 day free trial. I cancelled on the 7 th day. However they charged my credit card on the 7th day. I demanded a refund and they refuse to provide it.
Bought On Demand package, and in the description it's written "use for marketing and advertising". Then after a few days, got an email from the company saying that "I've reached out to alert your attention that as the images are being used on behalf of your company/business, the license on your current plan does not cover your usage of them.
And the new business plan offering:
"50 On Demand images downloadable anytime within one year USD 250*
Annual Subscription, 30 im/mos USD 499*
Annual Subscription, 75 im/mos USD 819*
This is totally fraud, misleading and dishonest business practice.
I demand a total refund.
You make it very confusing how to purchese extended lic. Photo's and then we pay money we can't use for extended lic. Because we paid for RF. Al you sites do the same thing. Thought you might be honest but no, you are not.
Do NOT do business with DepositPhotos.com. They may have offices in Florida but you still get the third world treatment. When you chat with their personnel you can tell that English is not their first language. I've never seen a company that makes you jump through so many hoops just to give them your money.
If you want the most frustrating time of your life then sign up, othewise, RUN!
Their employees have been empowered to do NOTHING! They can't solve a problem, they can't apply a promo code etc. I should have avoided them the first time I did business with them. In a chat I asked what was the best promo code available and they told me 5%. Then they bumped it up to 10% if I would do business right then. While I was chatting I found a 15% promo code one their website. When I inquired about the 15% code? Well, let's just say "Oops!" Caught in a lie! I should have run then.
If you want 3rd World treatment DepositPhotos.com is your company!
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!
I emailed them to cancel my plan in may but they still took May and June payment.
So I asked for a refund for June and was told that because I had used the plan they couldn't refund it... but of course I used it as you had charged me and not refunded so of course I will use the month I have paid for...
Emailed suppprt again and no help.
Avoid... use Canva or something else.
I had an annual plan for 100 photos that I thought would end on Jan 2nd, 2018, since the plan and money was paid for the upgrade on Jan 2nd 2017.
I planned on downloading the remaining photos over the Christmas break but the plan had expired already. So I lost most of the money invested in my plan. I called and complained but got no response and remedy promised.
I since set up a monthly plan, but Im still disappointed in my annual plan experience.

I don't usually write reviews but I wanna expose Depositphotos.
When I found Depositphotos I thought it would be great website for buying stock images, because it advertised the cheap price but as soon as I bought my first subscription with these fraud they charged my card and blocked my account and after the verification and using my subscription the charged my card again without my knowledge for next 3 months. It took 15 days for me to get my money back I complaint a file against Depositphotos and I hope I will stop them from stealing money from users card
I was about to sign up for the site to buy stock photos. I only needed one photo and the only offer I received was I would need to buy a pack of 5 at $39.00 or $7:80 each. I have a VA in Philipines he could buy them 1 each at $5.00.
I checked the pack pricing for the following
Quanitity United States Philipines
25 images $159.00 $69.00 230% Difference
Some of their pricing is similar but UNITED STATES is Discouraged from buying packages buy the pricing and led to the auto renewal.
I just found it too shady.
VERY, VERY POOR online customer support. They speak to you very rudely. No supervisor or manager is ever available. The Wild, Wild West Customer Service Rep's tat DepositPhotos.com have obviously taken over & are running the place! There is NO LEADERSHIP in place what so ever. I have tried to reach the CEO, Elena Flanagan-Eister numerous times. I do not think she actually exists & if she does she should be very ashamed of herself for ignoring all of these cries for help from customers? I honestly do think the photos are better than Getty, etc. However being cheated, scammed, screamed at by CSR's, etc. does not sit well with me.
This already occured twice to me. The first is I am sure I have already clicked the "auto-renewal" button to OFF. But they charge me again after the subscription ended.
They told me that in their policy they do not refund payments, so they opted me to hold the subscription and use it anytime. So I did.
This second time around. I WAS VERY SURE that i turned OFF AGAIN that "auto-renewal" checkbox. But to my surprise as the subscription ended today. They charged me again for the renewal.
I have talked with the support again and the same script was pasted on the chatbox. But i was angry and they decided to charge back the payment.
I am now waiting for the revert of my payment, and I will file a legal dispute if they do not return the money.
Answer: I chose them because other websites are too expensive for the amount you get. This is not an issue if this is being done in a commercial setting as cost is part of doing business. I on the other hand am a digital artist who creates non commercially and do not profit off my creations. I create for the sake of creating. I am able to get 30 downloads for $30 a month which for my purposes is perfect. For someone that just wants to create art non commercially then depositphotos offers the best value.
