I was working on a lyric video for a client and needed a photo image. After a search I came on depositphotos and found one I liked. Before making a purchase I did a live chat to verify I could use an image from them without royalty issues in the future. The person I spoke to said it was not a problem and that only a standard licensed would be required for the project. I went head and made the purchase for the standard license as suggested (about $25.00 for 10 images). 45 days later I get an email from their "account manager" saying that in order to avoid future royalty issues with the images I downloaded from them. The cost of the business plan he expects me to purchase is over $800.00. I would welcome them to even attempt to do anything to me or my client as I did screen shot of the discussion with the original rep on live chat. I just wanted to warn people away from this company as in my mind this hinges on extortion.
The biggest photostock I've ever used. There are a lot of quality stock photos and video images, website is very comfortable, and I've no problem with payment and shipping. Using this storage for 4 months.
I needed to buy some photos for our site and came across Depositphotos.
They offerred to buy monthly plan, I paid and got my photos. What they did not tell me is that their customer agreement by default suggested recurring payment each month.
And you don't see this since it's very well hidden.
They do not provide enough information and they do not send alert when funds are written off so you don't know that your money is drained to some bloody scam boss.
So check and delete your account)by the way you cannot do it by yourself)
Depositphotos is chock-full of eye-catching photos. I really love this site! Because this site has outdone itself this time, utmost resourceful. Also, the plethora of mind-blowing photos. As far as I know, Quality is more expensive than price. In fact, Depositphotos has proved it. However, I came across this site one-and-a-half-year-ago while I was looking for inexpensive photos. Thanks to this site, I received high-quality photos in reasonable prices. Without fail, great things happen here.
Love the HUGE selection of resources for designers as well as personal use images/graphics, etc. The possibilities are endless. I even found beautiful photos and videos of our local Great Lake. Check it out. You'll love it!
This company, unlike the better ShutterStock company, charges even when you have bought the picture and need a different size to download. BE CAREFUL of its "auto buy - auto- renew setting if you open an account because when you run out of pictures it will also charge you for another set of pictures. I just wanted a different size of the picture already paid for. When I downloaded the different size it automatically charged me $50 for ten more pictures I do not need. Customer service would not refund my money. My advice is to be extremely cautious with this company.
What these sad people have written about Depositphotos is just not fair. The comments clearly show people who don’t pay attention to what they’re doing. I have been a happy customer for over five years now, and I have always been treated fairly. Sure, there have been times when I there were problems, but tech support always helped me figure it out. I got a refund after I had a medical emergency and couldn’t get to my computer to close my subscription – they couldn’t have been nicer, in fact. I don’t think these unhappy reviewers had a clear idea what was going on. Heck, how hard is it to figure out PayPal?
I signed up for the trial service and didn't end up downloading anything. I woke up this morning to go and cancel it but they had already charged for the services and the site says no refunds so I was like oh great, just paid $60 for images I don't want.
So I emailed them anyway and explained how I hadn't even used the trial and if they could refund it and they said YES! As a graphic/web designer when I DO need that many images I will certainly be back. I really didn't expect that kind of customer service so I want to make sure to give them a loving review in return for their kindness! :)
I was a member years ago until the price increase. I subsequently went to a competitor. I recently needed higher quality imagery and signed up for the monthly plan.
It's great to have a choice that is below Adobe or Getty but above free or low-cost imagery low-level imagery.
Wow, wish I had done my homework first.
Signed up to DepositPhotos.com and had to open up a PayPal account as I did not have one previously. No big deal, I was just doing the trial for the week, right?
I downloaded two photos - really? Where the hell are they on my computer? Nowhere. I'm far from computer challenged and I looked up the image name and did a search on my entire computer. Nope. Nowhere.
Tried to download the same picture again. Nowhere on computer. What the hell?
Now I'm down to "two" credits. Grr.
Tried to do their online "chat". Nope, no one available.
Tried to call to see if someone could help me find the file and figure out the problem. Voice mail on 1st ring = no one available, leave a message. No thanks.
Sent an e-mail this morning after all this - still no response.
Y'all are right. This company sucks! I've spent two hours on this issue and I'm over it.
Answer: I chose them because other websites are too expensive for the amount you get. This is not an issue if this is being done in a commercial setting as cost is part of doing business. I on the other hand am a digital artist who creates non commercially and do not profit off my creations. I create for the sake of creating. I am able to get 30 downloads for $30 a month which for my purposes is perfect. For someone that just wants to create art non commercially then depositphotos offers the best value.
