“Tuner 1 Directv has Genie bar blocking top of screen”

HD picture is no better via satellite upgrade. Cost went up. Quality went down due to a black/gray horizontal Genie bar cutting off the top part of the screen. So, I am paying more for less picture. Often heads of people or words on screen are blocked. Bad! & no fix.

DIRECTV can't get their s*** together. Three different channels I wanted to watch today were unavailable because contracts had expired. It would be different if this weren't a common place event. Sort out your business dealings. Doing anything else shows you have zero regard for your customers. This has everything to do with corporate profits at the expense of customers. 1 star, only because zero is not an option. Do not recommend.

I thought when AT&T bought DIRECTV it would be better. WRONG! It's the worst company I've ever dealt with. I'm an over 20 year customer and service was interrupted before billing date was over. Customer service was a waste of time. They accomplished nothing. Just a lot of lip service. I upgraded my equipment several months ago with the promise my bill would stay the same. That was a lie! Gone up over 35.00 a month. I cancelled my service with them and I encourage others to join me. I should have dropped these crooks years ago!

I had TV installed. I did not get what was promised so cancelled within 24 hours where you do not have to pay an early termination fee. They charged me a fee anyway and when I called for a refund was informed I would be getting a pre-paid Visa card in 2-3 months. Meanwhile they have my $500.00. This is ridiculous, they had no right to take my money in the first place and could care less about getting me my money back.

Tip for consumers:
make sure Direct TV is what you want and make sure you get what you signed up for. Cancel within 24 hours and you do not have to pay a early termination fee, but be warned they will likely take it anyway and it will take 2-3 months to get your money back.

Products used:
refund policy is horrible, especially when they had no right to take my money in the first place.

This is the worst way to go for internet or cable. They lie about how they do things. Their internet is $#*! and is slow as $#*!. And won't even reach to another room without acting up. They basically stole $200 from my family for lying. They said it was 15 a month for the rest of the time on the contract. But instead they took all the money at once from a family who had a stroke not even a month ago and is still recovering from it. They are the worst way to go if you want anything. Expensive for no reason. Not even good. Google fiber is much better! And the instal is 10 minutes tops while the direct tv takes 2 hours.

This isn’t a good thing. And I hope you all feel the same

The rep literally had me on hold for 45minutes because I wanted to cancel my service. She kept giving me the run around and saying that department was busy! This service is far too expensive compared to streaming elsewhere! They refuse to remove the dish from your home as well! Terrible customer service

Do not use Direct TV. I have had them for years. A loyal customer and when I cancelled as I moved out of state I kept calling every month about my refund owed. It's been 3 months and still no return. Now they claim the credit amount is $30 less as they took off a promotion. I am sure I will never see any refund. Never never use Direct TV again

I was induced to sign up by a promised $200 credit card. I just spent over an hour talking to three reps who each had a different story about why I didn't get it. They do not impress for candor or fair dealing. The service is not first class; it is frequently unresponsive and difficult to use. I can't wait until the end of my subscription, with the hope that they go out of business earlier..

Wow this company is now joining yet another round of choosing what is views on their platform. A year ago they removed OAN (One America News) for it's conservative or alternative view point. Now they are doing it again by removing Newsmax for the same reason. I used to be a customer and now I am glad I left.

We live in rural Wisconsin and lost our service in late October of 2021. Called 3 times requesting service and was told no techs were available and they would call to schedule. Never to this day in late February have we received a call. But they have billed us every month religiously. Now the fight to get it credited has taken 9 calls and at least that many hours tied up in getting rid of a service that they chose not to support. They are horrible and completely worthless when it comes to customer support. Stay away! Go to some internet service that at least charges less. I would give them zero's if the site allowed me too. Absolutely worthless! Oh yeah they continue to charge me for equipment even though they never sent a way to send the garbage back until I made another call to get it the shipping label., And I have to travel 30 miles to send back equipment that they won't fix. Completely worthless!

Compare to dish have old technology. Can't do other than turn the tv on and off and select a channel. When we sign up they were misleading and now we stuck with a two year contract. Also a lot more expensive. Cant wait to get out of it.

I had Dish for 14 years and wish I never left them. Direct TV is the worst service I have ever received from a company. They charge you for every single thing. It's very difficult to get to a live agent, when the chat box says Monday - Sunday 8-6 CST, and it's Saturday at 3:30 and it says all the agents have gone for the day. Unfortunately I had to check check one start, but would have rather checked none. I would never recommend this company.

A simple request do not contact me about special promotions. It is an easy request, however Directtv does not understand this request. They call me at work to with promotions, and then when you tell them not to make channels active they do it anyway so the can charge you more for your monthly service. WORLDS worst company around.

Long story short version. Was with company for 22 years literally and I never never never received thee right amount of bill the representatives said I would pay. After promotions and misleading information I finally closed/left these con artists as of 2/10/2022. I'm free I'm free I'm free never will they get another 298.00 out of me or $179.00 when the original bill was supposed to $99.00…. I have proof…

We got out of the cable company because of cost. Thinking this would be better. Well we were wrong. We got a TV package for cheaper. But being hockey fans we realized that there was no Nesn channel in our package. So I call to have it added. Was told I would have to upgrade to a higher level for 50 dollars more a month. And was never told at the beginning that it was a 2 yr contract. Would have never went with it if we knew that. So they lied and they are pirates. The way they run. Nothing but lies to get you to go for there company.

Absolutely the worst service, customer service and business. I had directv a few years ago. The account was closed and settled with a collections agency. I had At&t and directv bundled together at one point. I went to add a line to my at&t wireless plan, via customer service agent, who was successful in adding the line. She needed my bank account information for some reason, and was assured that I would not be charged any money from this account. One day later and I had a charge of over $700, that after 2 days and hours on the phone, came from direct tv. No notification of these charges. Now, directv has denied my claim for a refund twice, and again, I was not notified about the denial. I dont know what kind of business does not notify their customers about anything. SO essentially, directv has stolen over $700 from me, and is trying to justify it. Absolutely disgusted.

Censoring OAN, and Now Newsmax will bankrupt AT&T. All true patriots need to cancel their Directv and AT&T accounts immediately! I left Direct several years back because of Wokeness!
https://www.dish.com/ is keeping Newsmax on all their subscriptions! You can also stream on roku!

No company is going to give away their product, but having tried other rv services over the years, I find that, for me, this is where I'm staying. Of coarse the longer your with a company, I find, the more leverage you have.

We had tried this company for our motorhome with a great satellite on top of it and it sucked. Now that they're getting political I am so glad we dropped them and will never go back. I hope they go out of business

Their satellite service that did not work most the time. Spent more time on the phone with technical support then watching it while we were on vacation and our motorhome

As I write this review I am on my 4th phone call and still on hold trying to open a new account...these employees are the worst trained I have ever dealt with. After not being able to complete the on line application I am told to call a number, which I did (still on hold 47 minutes later), they need to verify my credit, after giving my SS# 4 times, they call the bureau while I am on hold, approve my credit, and tell me they need the credit check one more time. Ridiculous...she know states she wants 3 credit bureaus and I'm 820 plus...UNREAL. Good luck Direct TV. You wont be around much longer.

Tip for consumers:
YES, Once again, AWFUL experience. I dont get mad often but I am beyond angry for their horrible customer service and their reviews everywhere now that I've looked, are ALL awful.

Products used:
I could never buy the service....operator was ignorant and could not understand or comprehend the transaction. I say this being a Direct TV customer for almost 20 years before.

I was watching Game Show Network a couple of days ago on DirecTV, and they suddenly took it off, along with Cooking Channel! I wonder if they're having carriage disputes or something! If they don't fix it, I'm switching to another provider!

Don't let DirecTV take any of your favorite channels off!

The quality of the streaming is good, and I would rate Directv higher except for their customer service. Just one week after installation, the Directv remote for our main tv quit working, I called customer service and the lady tried hard to get it fixed, but without success. So, she stated they would mail us a new remote, which would take a few days to arrive. That was two weeks ago and we still don't have it. I called a few days later and was told it was on the way, but it still isn't here. Fortunately, I was able to fix the problem myself by changing the batteries (although the ones in the remote were new and tested good). Still, it irritates me that they could not almost immediately replace a device that had quit working!

I can not tell you how bad this company is in words.At least not clean words. They used to be good until AT&t bought them. Now you need to run unless you like exercises in futility. Horrible customer service!

I have been a 15 year customer with DirecTV company. My service has not changed since new owners (AT&T). The reliability, customer service, and installation crew are 5 stars. Customer service employees have solved problems without hassle! Thank you!

Today, 12/3/2021, my Roku got an update of the DirectTV app. Looks OK but quickly found their Software Designers, Programmers and QA is so bad that the Guide does not roll over anymore. Sorted Alphabetically and at the A's and need to get to the Z's, don't go up like you used to. It stops at the "Top", like there should or ever was a "Top". Now, you will need to scroll very slowly through 100 channels to get to the bottom. Ridiculous. Please put this moronic company out of our misery.

My father passed away. We paid his last bill and wrote on it "Deceased. We won't be paying any more bills from you". In the meantime I had been trying to turn the equipment in. No one within a 60 mile radius will take it. They refused to send a prepaid box to mail it back. They kept telling me to return it to places I had already been. Who refused to take it. They are still billing us. Good luck with that. Threw the equipment in the trash. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!
