I am trying to register a domain without the privacy and protection pieces. Any attempt to close that part out results in a blank screen overlay. Give the customer all options, not just the ones you would like to have.

I started with domain 2 weeks ago, today their site is down and so is mine. They went blank, they also banned me and charged me for a full year of hosting without me approving it, soon as I hit "Continue" for my purchase I ended up on an account banned screen. My site is shieldsofshame.com. Their customer service is absent. I am transferring to another host this week.

Domain.com is a scam

Do not believe the domain.com reps when they say they have canceled your subscription. I have spoken with reps for this company by phone, chat, and email. All have told me "it's canceled" only for me to continue receiving renewal notices and being harassed to pay them. Do not trust them with your financial information and get in writing that the services are canceled so that when they inevitably charge you (maybe years from now) you can provide the proof to your financial institution to do a charge back by fraud. I've never been so frustrated with a company. Please save yourself the headache and don't give them your financial info, it's dangerous.

So far, I've tried to set up my email and it's been "waiting to be verified" for almost two days. I am chatting with help and every time I ask a question. Have to wait between 2-4 minutes for a response. Then I did what he told me and google said my account has been resold. I'm not sure what is going on but so far, my experience has not been very good.

Triple check the domain name you choose, shame on me for using them the first time and thinking I must have missed something, used them again for another domain name and happened again, purchased a domain name that they said was not taken and then when my cc information went through, had something different then I purchased. No phone service available, only chat, can not get money back once purchased either.

I have to log out and back in again in order for anything to register as complete. Also, I wish there were status bars that showed an approx. Time-frame for the account activation. Like, I'll admit I don't understand much about any of this, but the lack of explanation as to what is happening and why I have to fill in the same info 5 times just makes it that much more confusing.

I've not had much experience with your service beyond waiting for the provisioning of the domain purchased. I don't know what your purchase page said, but on the control panel it says this can take up to 24 hours. In over a decade, I've never waited more than 5 minutes for a purchased domain. Ever. It's now closing in on 24 hours.

Your purchase page needs to state this particular caveat very clearly.

I'm trying to cancel my Website Builder Express. I can't find an option to do that anywhere on the site. I opened a chat to get support and have been waiting 12 minutes without getting a single response. This is miserable customer service. Just make a cancel button! Why don't you have a simple cancel button!

The notifications of expiring domains are good, but it is not then obvious as how to cancel (rather than renew) domain names. That seems to follow other sites that intentionally make it difficult to opt out of subscriptions. Not a consumer friendly approach

Problems: Accessing my account, customer service not able to solve the "We are having a problem that our techs are trying to resolve" (paraphrasing) customer service recommending I check my Service Provider, (which have checked and it's not their issue), customer service ignoring that I ask for some compensation (like a refund re dates my accounts will not load). Accessing my account is so inconsistent (which are 2 business accounts) that I don't trust the service anymore and am looking for other providers to transfer to).

It won't resend a verification email for my domain - this user interface is such a piece of flaming $#*!, horrendous to navigate. Especially considering it's a domain site. Domain.com should be embarrassed

Everything I wanted to do so far it is not available or it is hidden, I dont understand what kind of provider you are?! I wanted to make site worth Wordpress builder after series of rejection from google for domain Ive bought here, google won't recognise me as a domain owner, your bot sent me text where that is confirmed instead of link where to paste html code from google for validation.

Unreliable service, poor support

On more than one occasion I discovered that my DNS CNAME and A records had disappeared. When I tried to open a support ticket it turned out that domain.com won't let you do that; you can only communicate with the company through a crippled chat interface. The first time it happened the rep claimed the DNS servers hadn't lost anything, so the next time it happened I documented the responses from domain.com's DNS servers with screen shots and this time the rep admitted that other customers had experienced the same outage. I tried asking him how I would go about getting a refund for the remainder of my registration period but he wouldn't answer my question. Another hole in the service is that there is no way to export the DNS entries for backup, a feature that even GoDaddy provides.

It's been mostly great

It's been mostly great. My only beef is that when my domain expired, I was not given a warning before my site was disabled. I hope to avoid such interruptions in the future as downtime can hurt my reputation.
