I was a 20+ year patient of Dr Dovgan DDS, but when he sold his practice to a business group the whole attitude to patients changed! Nearly (if not all) of his employees left. He recommended a crown replacement and tooth rebuild which was NOT actually needed! X-Rays showed the metal portion of the crown, not tooth decay. He will tell you, he is on the 'board of dental' professionals, which really means zero.

I have not been his patient for three years, yet his office continues to call and email reminders to make an appointment.

Just be careful!

I had been a patient of Dr John Dovgan DDS for over 20 years. During that time he and the staff were fantastic. I may have even written a review praising them. That all changed in 2021 and my feeling have not changed. Dr Dovgan 'sold' his practice to a larger organization. That resulted in nearly the entire staff leaving, his professional attitude changed from patient care to making a 'sale'. He advised I needed to have a tooth rebuilt and current crown replaced. (That was based on x-rays) I doubted this and after finding a new practice, what he was looking at was the exposed metal of the crown NOT tooth decay! NO tooth rebuilding or replacement crown is needed! If I followed his recommendations, it would have cost me $1,600.

He wants to say he is a member of the Arizona board of dentists. SO what? It literally means zero.

Even though I stopped going to the practice in 2021, they still call to schedule a 6 month appointment. How disorganized is the profession that they still make calls for 6 month dental cleanings when the patient no longer goes there? Do they do this for deceased individuals as well?

I highly recommend a different dental service.
