Decent overall until you run into any kind of problems.
Then. If you manage to get anyone you never get a real answer. And if you do get an answer it doesn't do anything for you. The, after all that they just go silent.
Overall, not bad unless you need help with something.
Fab service and great product! I have been using dropbox since day one and it makes accessing files from multiple computers and mobile devices a breeze! I've never had an issue with downtime or any problems of any sort.
I used to love Dropbox- it was basically how I backed up my computer. However, I accidentally signed up for two paid accounts, and despite emailing them the day of, and letting them know, and despite their promises to cancel and refund the second account, none of this has happened. It’s been 3 months.
Dropbox needs to really improve on their user functionality. On my Iphone it chooses to freeze up a lot. Also, it lags a lot when you want to delete and add stuff. I actually have tried Box and the two are pretty similar, but box offers more storage for less money.
I love Dropbox. It automatically saves all my photos from ym cell phone or my tablet onto my computer, so if I lose the devices or have to format them, I don't lose my photos! For a mother with kids, who often uses these devices for photos instead of my camera, this is wonderful! If you have a Smart TV you can view them with AllShare or Samsung Link too! It takes them whenever you are connected to your home wifi or you can have it use your data. Its easy and hands free. You don't have to do anything. And you get LOTS of storage too.
Good most of the time until you have issues and then it is a hassle getting a response from them. I would suggest that this is a great option for the person that has a business as they seem to reply to all of my friends business questions on her account.
I am scarred to use a service like dropbox again because of the NSA scandal. Never use it again!
I used to love dropbox until I had a problem with my account and they did not respond to me. I think unless you are a corporate client you are going to get low customer service. Their prices compared to box.com are also extremely high.
A great resource for individuals and business. Easy to navigate site and free cloud storage.
Free network shared folders with ability to co-own or just read items in the folders with other users. Co-owners (who can add to, edit, delete) of folders have to install dropbox, linked users (read only) do not have to install dropbox.
Got a recommendation from a high school principal to use this when we were writing a school based handbook that was too large to pass through the school's email filter. Amazingly easy to use!
I LOVE the ability to co-own (share) a folder so everyone can edit documents or to give people read-only access (link) to documents and pictures. This is perfect for the various groups I belong to where we need to co-author or co-edit meeting minutes, fliers and spreadsheets. Also allows people to read-only folder contents so everyone has access to pictures, rules & regs, by laws.
Dropbox has lessened the need for group email with attachments -- we don't have to send out, receive and edit, re-send, edit again, resend, etc. Easy to use once you speak the share-link terminology. Lots of free space and your space is increased as you share-link to other users.
One drawback -- I'd like the ability to share with others so they can read and edit but not allow them to delete anything! Still, 100% recommend dropbox!
They are literally the worst.
They offer no phone support.
I have been in an email battle for over a week trying to get them to take off $500 in charges that showed up without my permission. They offer no help, no investigation as to how that happened, no resolve. They maintain a very "whatever" attitude about the billing error. At one point they even stopped responding. Maybe $500 isnt a lot to them, but it is to those of us who budget our money. I certainly never had $500 for dropbox in it, nor did i sign up for it. This is robbery.
Everything is ok except one thing. Free space is consider too little with people need
Site is good, but unable to get support to respond to any of my 4 emails.
Yes, file sharing is convenient, and the site is easy to use and share with others. HOWEVER, if you need support, plan on waiting a few days. Bandwidth space to upload files is a meager 26 - 62kb... AKA takes FOREVER for large files to upload!
Waiting 24 - 48 hours for a response as a paying business is simply unacceptable to resolve issues!
Dropbox is a handy file sharing program used to share documents, photos and videos. I use dropbox on a day to day basis for taking work home with me being in the web design business. It is something I would definitely recommend if your always forgetting that pen drive! You can even get 2GB free and earn more space by inviting friends or colleagues and by doing other various tasks.
Great for sharing pictures with friends and other stuff! Like this app!
I love the "feel" of the site, the way they have designed it. It is very intuitive, approachable, and comfortable. I use DropBox every single day. I keep some of my important files there, in addition to my back-up hard drive. I learned the hard way that your backup hard drive can fail, and then what? Storage on the cloud is much safer. It's also great, because I have several computers, between work, home, and my iPhone. Dropbox lets me have all my files easily accessible from any computer. I recommend DropBox.
Pretty easy to use and log in from anywhere. This is a good work tool and personal one as well.
Answer: TRUE THEY SCAMMED ME TOO!
Answer: SCAMMERS!
Answer: I hope there is a class action suit and I will join it.
Answer: Dropbox customer support will soft talk you into thinking they are helping to put a stop to their fraudulent charges, but in the end they actually do nothing. I don't believe they have an in-house system to stop credit card charges. There are many crooked companies that do business this same way as well. How many people don't read their credit card statement in full every month? And the dropbox folks rake in the fraudulent charges people don't catch. Call them, and they say "we're sorry" it won't happen again. I went through that three times and finally had to re-issue my card with a new number. Shown is a canned text statement below sent to people with billing problems: >"I will need all of the following information for security reasons and to locate the charge to assist you:"< > Card type First six digits of the card Last four digits of the card Full name on the credit card charged Date of charge Amount charged Billing postal code< "Dear Dropbox, If I spent the same amount of time, it takes to cancel a CC looking at the thousands of negative online reviews before I bought Dropbox I would be well ahead of the game. I added my negative review of dropbox to the many already online after I changed the CC number on my Visa, of course. And no, I will not give you any more cc numbers or names. Dropbox has a worldwide reputation of continuous charges once they get your number. Did you think I just fell off the turnip truck? LOL Goodbye Forever,"
Answer: I was unsuccessful as well. I ended up disputing the charge with my credit card. It is still being investigated. My wife was successful in getting a refund on a new account that she never used, within 7 days of paying. She is the only one I know of that has done that successfully.
