Have an upcoming trip to Italy with my boyfriend and love the selection they have at DSW. Never shopped here before but glad I found it. Purchased some cute shoes for my trip.
Called store about Birkenstock's Arizona Big Buckle in white, giving full description and price of shoe. Was told there we 2 in my size. I arrived at store only to find what was advertised as white online was actually a pearl/off white yet the shoe shown online was white white! I am stuck with a purchased gift card for $170 that I cannot return to Kroger! I assumed if DSW sold Birkenstock they would be authentic and true to color. The person who identified herself as a manager had no answer excepted advertising department was responsible for photos online!
I placed an on line order. It took a bit to arrive in the store. There was no communication on when they arrived in the store. If I had not looked up the shipping, I would never had known they had arrived. I picked up the shoes and got billed a MONTH later. They didn't know I had picked up the shoes until I contacted them for the late billing. They were going to send out another pair of shoes. They didn't even really read the first e-mail just a blanket of excuses that didn't pertain to the situation. It was frustrating and I do think they charged me full price even though I used coupons and picked up at the store. I am so unimpressed and this is my second time with having big issues with on line orders and not being able to reach competent customer service person (if you call you get no where so I didn't even try this time). It was all done by E-mail and it was all very sloppy. No communication with the stores or the shopper. It's a shame they used to be very good. I won't go back for more.

I love this store, I just got my wedding shoes from here, LOVVVVVEEEE THEM! They always seem to have a great deal going on. I also got a great pair of sandals for my honeymoon in Jamaica. I can't wait!
Let me start by saying I have shopped here for years and spent a whole lot of money. However, the one time I tried to return a pair of shoes, I found out how horrible their customer service actually is. Despite being a "Rewards Member" (meaning I have spent a lot of money) I was treated like trash on the street when I dared to make a return! I ordered a pair of shoes online and thought they fit while in my house. However, as soon as I got outside and tried to cross my work's parking lot, I realized they did not. I took them off immediately, but because I wore them outside and there was black on the soles, I could not return them. In addition, I was treated as if I found the shoes on the street and was trying to make money by returning them by the store's employees. Despite complaining to so called "Customer Service", no one seemed to care enough to even try to make this right for me. I am out $40 for a pair of shoes I cannot wear. This, even though, I am a "loyal" customer. Would hate to see what happens to those who are just "casual" customers.
Will NEVER shop there again, but they don't EVEN CARE.

Points and rewards are fraud, instead of getting the points they are taking it away from you. When i brought shoes for $174 and asked to use some of my rewards they told me my balance is -144 points. Reason: if you are not shoping like every monts or so they take piints from you. So i came to -144 points coz i did not get any shoes since the winter time. I canceled my membership, do t like to be lied to and i newer heared someone is dooing this.
Made a small error in an order on line. Went to cancel. ABSOLUTELY no way to cancel an order via their site. So I called. Wait time? Get this: 200 minutes!

I placed an online order, for a pair of shoes I needed for a visit and I was willing to wait the seven business day it took to be shipped to me. When I filled the order I noticed the format had a default store address on the other coast of Florida (Miami). I proceed to save the store address near me (in Naples), and placed my order. When I got a confirmation everything looks good. 8 days later, i received an email saying my order was delivered to (Miracle center store in Miami) instead of Naples! I called customer service which is apparently in India, they said will resolved the problem and called me back, -they never called me back, I called the store in Miami were the shoes were delivered, and a male supervisor called Jamie, said the only solution was canceled my order and place it again. He didn't apologize for the customer service that promise to get back to me, but never did, he didn't attempt to resolve my problem at all. I asked for the store manager, but he said he was there to help me, and kept saying all he could do was canceled my order, end of story. Never tried to find a way to deliver those shoes to me. All he did was canceled my order and asked me, to place it AGAIN and wait another 8 days for it. Which of course I didn't. I rather place it on AMAZON even if is a higher price. At least they don't leave me hanging with no shoes that I needed to wear the next day. First and last time I order from DSW. I don't think they will be in business much longer with this kind of service. Horrible experience. Not recommended to anyone.

I have shopped at DSW for years! I have bad feet & ALWAYS purchase shoes & wear them at home to see if they hurt my feet. If they hurt, I return them! This time I bought 3 pair of the plastic Birkenstocks, wore 1 pair & they do not work for me. Tried to return 2 pair and the return was declined per the RAR, The Retail Equation Act! I called DSW customer service, which is Shoephoria, they couldn't help me because the shoes were bought in a store & not online! Called Retail Equation, which is all over the ocean somewhere & can't speak good English. They basically said they couldn't help me & to go to store manager where they said they couldn't override it because they would be fired! So, if shoes are questionable, buy them online so you can return them! Otherwise you may get stuck with shoes you can't wear!

I used to buy a lot from DSW, but the last visit was so bad,I'm no longer, can buy from DSW anymore that discount coupons not working and price is very expensive no coupon working nothing is working plus, they do not offer you any bag that is awful no more DSW bye-bye DSW.
I have shopped at DSW for years and have always had wonderful sales associates. There is one in particular at the DSW Store at The Renassiance Center in Altamonte Springs, FL. Her name is Cindi (sorry, don't know her last name). She always has a smile and a pleasant hello or how can I help you or let's see if we can't figure this out. She is an outstanding asset to this store. We actually have 4 stores in this area but I always go to Cindi's store, in hopes she might be working. Please don't get me wrong, the other associates are very helpful also, but, there ain't nothin or no one workin' at DSW as pleasant and knowledgeable as Cindi. She would make an excellent trainer (if she isn't already). I know nothing about her outside of DSW. All I know is SHE'S SUPER!
I ordered a pair of boots for my sister on 12/1. On 12/3 the order was still pending. On 12/4 I received the shipping confirmation that the item will be delivered on 12/8. On 12/8 I checked the tracking, only to find out that FedEx never received the package. Called customer service and I was told a replacement order will be sent and that I will receive a confirmation email with the new tracking number. On 12/9 contacted customer service after not receiving the email confirmation of the replacement order. I was again told that a replacement order will be shipped and that I will receive a confirmation when the package is shipped. As of 12/10 no confirmation that a replacement order was even processed. I already had one of the reps put me on hold for 45min on 12/3 when there was an issue with another order. The rep decided to put me hold for a long time, expecting me to hang up. I decided to tie up her phone line by putting my phone on speaker, popped some popcorn and watched TV while I was on hold. After 45 min, she Transferred the call to another representative who tried to assist but I requested to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor was helpful and refunded a good portion of my money. With that being said, DSW customer service sucks. Too bad they're paying to outsource the work. As a VIP member for many years, I plan to take my business elsewhere.
Never again! I have given DSW (local & online) chance after chance and I am officially over it.
The local store (Farragut, TN - Turkey Creek) is filthy and disorganized - funky carpet, dusty shelves, shipping pallets & boxes everywhere. Yet for all that, good luck finding anything in your size - or that you would want to wear. Of DSW's substantial product line this branch has chosen to carry only shoes that will likely appeal to old ladies or teenage you-know-whats. There is no in between.
I have tried shopping online more than once and have been just as disappointed. They don't send the correct sizes, boxes and their contents are crushed due to improper packing. If you return online they provide 1 label (or QR code for a label) for multiple items, all of which DSW will have sent to you separately. So it is the customer's responsibility to provide a suitable shipping box. When I try to return things to the store, neither the cashiers nor managers can figure out how to do it. Differentiating between an online sale and an in store sale, finagling with discounts and percentages - it's just too much for them!
You can get the same stuff at any number of other stores without the hassle. Go there instead.

THEY NEVER RETURNED MY MONEY! AFTER, BEING TOLD 2-3 TIMES THAT MY MONEY SHOULD BE PUT BACK INTO MY ACCOUNT IT NEVER WAS. I ORDERED A PAIR OF BOOTS, THEY NEVER TOLD ME THEY WERE OUT OF AND CONVERSE, THEY SENT THEM BACK BECAUSE I PUT MY P. O BOX ON MY ADDRESS, REALLY? Twice in the same month they have sent me used shoes. This second time, the box was not even intact. The top was ripped off the box and it was an obvious return. This is just so nasty!

I tried to get some assistance thru the live chat numerous times, however it was never available. I called their customer service line was on hold for over 35 minutes, I tried at different times of day and I never got thru. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I bought a pair of sneakers at DSW in Warwick RI, I loved how they looked so I wore them out of the store and walked into another store one shoe began to hurt my foot, so I brought them back to the store for a return within 1 hour and the store said I could not return the shoes due to me wearing them.
I ordered the Deux lux Ariel clutch purse in green and was sent the Deux Lux Ariel Flap clutch purse instead. The two purses do not look alike. I called customer service to report the issues and have the correct item sent to me but was told there were out of that color. I then ordered the Deux Lux Ariel clutch purse in pink and received the Deux Lux Ariel flap purse instead, this time in pink. I called customer service again to report the issue and was told they would send the correct item, hand packed (the packer makes sure it is the correct item) with free 2 day shipping. That would have been great but they sent me the wrong purse AGAIN. They sent the Flap Clutch purse again. I returned the wrong items and spoke to customer service as it seemed to me there was a issue in the warehouse as the two items were one number apart. I was told they would investigate and create a new order for me, once they confirmed the item was actually in stock. And send email the new order info. That was three weeks ago and I have not heard back from them. The Deux Lux Ariel Clutch is still listed on the website as an in stock item. If you order this item don't expect to receive this bag.
I ordered an eGift card for a birthday gift. On the website it says it will be delivered within 12 hours. 24 hours later I got a call verifying that I placed the order. Not only have they not sent it out but they said that if this gentleman hadn't gone into work (which he only does sometimes on the weekends)to verify the order this wouldn't have gotten sent out until MONDAY! As it was I had to go through TWO supervisors to get this Egift card sent out IMMEDIATELY. They kept assuring me it would be sent out within 12 hours of verification. THis is NOT what it says on the website. They do NOT get them out within 12 hours on the weekends. Keep this in mind when ordering. In fact, I suggest ordering from another site that actually DOES get them out in a timely fashion.

When I notice that my order was being shipped to another location, which has NEVER happened before ( Be careful with locations when ordering). For some reason it went to Wynnewood Pa. Less than 24 hours I contacted DSW ( Due to store hours) TODAY! Is July 10th I was notified by email that my order was picked up!. And my Credit Card was charged. This is FRAUD. You have a THIEF in your Wynnewood PA store.
After speaking with Harrison ( Supervisor) I was informed that my Credit Card would be credited. This is just Ridiculous, That you as consumer, Try to take IMMEDIATE action in order to avoid unnecessary issues, only to find out that it can go WRONG REAL FAST!
I used a Visa gift card to purchase a pair of boots online. (Once I exhausted the Visa gift card funds, I threw away the card, thinking I wouldn't need a card with no current monetary value.)
A few weeks later when the boots hadn't arrived, I emailed DSW requesting a STATUS UPDATE on the order. Without my knowledge or consent, DSW notified me via email that my order had been refunded to my payment method- the discarded Visa gift card. I immediately, contacted DSW via telephone. The customer service representative I spoke with convinced me if I repeated the refunded Visa order with another card, I would be refunded on the new card. So, that's what I did. Purchased the boots again but with a different card. I was NOT refunded my original order with this second card.
These boots arrive well and good. I'm still struggling with the refund. I've contacted Supervisors, Managers, etc. They all admit DSW acted without my consent, but won't refund me in cash or to my bank account. They did issue store credit. I don't want to buy more shoes! I only needed the one pair of boots! DSW made an error, acknowledged that error, yet refused to resolve the error in a suitable manner.
The shoes did not leave their facility for a whole week, and then it took ANOTHER 10 days to get to my house.
Customer service was polite, but useless.
DSW IS A GREAT PLACE TO SHOP BUT THEY TREAT THEIR SALES ASSOCIATES LIKE $#*!. CUSTOMERS ARE ALLOWED TO STEP INTO THE WORKERS FACE AND YELL AT THEM BUT THE ASSOCIATE IS EXPECTED TO KEEP THEIR MOUTH SHUT. AGAIN GREAT PLACE TO SHOP BUT HORRIBLE PLACE TO WORK
Order shoes from DSW.com at the end of November 2021 for pick up at store -paid with credit card.
The first week of December 2021 received text shoes were ready for pick up in store.
Went to store to pick up shoes -store could not locate the shoes. Issued a refund. Customer Service contacted me that refund would be credited to card within 3-5 days.
In mid-December no credit had been issued to my credit card. Customer Service was contacted and apologized and issued another refund to my credit card.
Beginning of January 2022 no credit issued to credit card. Once again Customer Service was contacted and once again apologized and issued the refund credit -this would be the second time Customer Service was contacted regarding this refund.
Mid January 2022 as of this date NO CREDIT has been received. Writing this review to let other DSW customers know there is definitely a problem within this Company's refund (with receipt) policy of return within 3-5 days.
It is now a month and a half and counting no refund to my credit card.
