eBid has a rating of 1.9 stars from 175 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about eBid most frequently mention lifetime membership, customer service, and credit card problems. eBid ranks 187th among Auction sites.
I have purchased multiple postcards from this site. All items delivered in good condition and on time. I trust this website, lower prices than ebay.com too.
Looking for eBay alternatives. Thought I would give eBid a try. Apparently, there is no free option - that is, you have to pay a fee to get access to eBid site functionality. I was hoping for at least a free-trial option so I could "kick the eBid site tires" before signing up. But even the site support option (which I was going to inquire about free trial options) comes with a cost. I'll pass on eBid.

EBid doesn't offer the best deals and doesn't have that much traffic. They are not as good as some of their other online auction sites.

They close lifetime subscriptions for no reason, it's a scam site.
They charged me £49 for a lifetime subscription then they suspended it and asked for my driving licence, and proof of address, so I sent them the front and back of my driving licence and a bank statement that was just over 1 month old. Then they kept on asking me for different paperwork until they asked for one I couldn't produce because I'm not the homeowner. ONE BIG SCAM keep clear eBay has 100 times more traffic even in 2024

They have no idea what they are doing, they send a load of emails for the same thing, I'm now done with them, they have lost a customer and a supporter I will no longer praise this company, I had my account for years and years and out the blue, they suspended it and asked for my details driving licence etc that I gave them, and now they want a utility bill that I do not have as I'm not the owner or the renter of a home. It's easier to just walk away.

I've been a seller on Ebid for many years and the platform has grown organically over that time.
Fees are low (or free) but do not expect Ebay levels of sales.
Ebid seems to have certain categories of items that sell regularly and if you offer goods in any of those categories, you will see regular sales.
The one off payment lifetime seller option is so comparatively cheap that you will most likely make back the cost in savings in your first year particularly if you sell regularly or run a niche business - it's a going to be much cheaper to set up a store front in Ebid than hosting your own website.
On ebid for 1 week as a seller. 13 listings. About 18 views on each listing, no sales. This site has great potential for sellers and buyers due to the very low cost compared to the gouging we take on others. I offer much better prices on Ebid due to lower cost. Test Google Search results And my products showed up first page. All sellers should give this a try just don't start on Ebid due to low traffic for now. They are a little difficult to navigate and need to improve this.
Very low fee's on eBid because you will never get a sale!
150 listings and the only feedback i have had is from making purchases myself.
If you post to various social media accounts... You will get auto generated views that must come from eBid, because if you post same items from other sites you will receive a view or two but every time posting from this auction site you will get 8,10 or 12 views without failure! If you are thinking that i may be stretching the truth... Just visit any one of my listings because you will see that i have over 400 views to some of my items. Overall i am very disgusted!
Look out eBay here comes eBid. I have no complaints with eBid; I hope this site becomes more popular. There is more balance of seller and buyer protection as opposed to all buyer protection. Much lower selling fees.

Been on the Site for 10 years Paid the £50 Lifetime Membership, and earned almost nothing. Keep away from here it is a waste of time!
In Fact list an item first see how many hits you get it is laughable.
Ten years of being a Seller+ member, I find that eBid is the top auction site to join. The selling fees are much better than other auction sites and in most cases, free listing. You can also have your own store.
I recently purchased an antique railroad figurine from a seller on ebid and have yet to receive it, or even a response to my inquiries. I'm hopeful Paypal will be able to help because ebid is only sending canned responses. Can't recommend this site unfortunately.
I have been delighted with eBid both as a seller and a buyer. I've been there almost four years and I have never had a bad experience.
The site is growing rapidly, management is careful to screen out and control dishonest sellers AND buyers, only one account per address (keeps the dodgy people out), no duplicate listings (so I don't have to plow through pages of junk to find what I'm looking for), many payment options, worldwide exposure.
I have noticed that some of the people giving the site bad reviews did not follow the proper procedures to get help. I also know that some of these problems will not be handled by any other auction site. Try getting help on eBay if a buyer rips you off! Buyers always have recourse (they can get their money back).
So I've made 20 successful bids with no complications and fast payment to all sellers. Then out of the blue Ebid are again harassing me by closing down my account and asking for proof of identification, passport, driving license etc before they reinstate it. I really don't feel comfortable sending this company my documents and I don't believe this is something they should be requesting but I did so anyway. I mean what choice did I have? So it's been 24 hrs since I uploaded my documents and have heard nothing back. I think their customer service towards loyal customers is atrocious.
Tip for consumers:
Stay clear of ebid if you can help it.

When it came to bidding on ebid they kept accusing me of shill bidding and insisted I knew the seller and closed my account!. This was never the case and I reassured them I didn't know any of the sellers on their platform, however they kept insisting I knew the seller. I had built up a number of buddy points that I wanted to use to purchase products with. They effectively stole my buddy points from me when they closed my account. The ebid police try to make it as hard as possible for buyers to keep their accounts open and make purchases. I would give them 0 stars if I could.
Tip for consumers:
It is a job in itself keeping an ebid account open. I would have to say it is more hassle than it's worth. However they were selling collectables that not many other sites sell. If you can get a product elsewhere I would seriously recommend you do.

What can I say I have now been a member for 4 years.
I have not even had a message or a sale.
Me and my business colleagues even listed items for a penny brand new items
We still hot no response.
Are these 2 guys in their flat still ripping people off.
Do not give your debit card details to these people or you will wake up broke when these guys go down the pan.
All the reviews on here that are good are made up from the 2 guys who work on this Scam.
This company needs reporting to trading standards.
AVOID E BID!
Signed up for lifetime. Figured even if I sold nothing it would spread my name on the search engines... Nope, does not even do that, they are so far down on google and others as to not even make a ripple. Listed about 30/40 good selling items that sell daily on my site and ebay and I have yet to sell one thing. Saw a message about poor sales and needing more listings a month or so ago saying they would kick me off... I figured BFD... Now they are sending me bills for 67 cents and sh*... Laughable company. They did find a niche though, screw people by charging so little that people just write it off as a bad decision... I actually forgot I was on there, total waste of time and money... All that being said, if you have 50 bucks to waste you might as well waste it on ebid.
Not sure what to say. I was excited as the site is pretty much set up to make it easy to post and sell. But testing 8 items now for about a month with no results. With bids starting at 1.00 and 2.00, I would think someone would be interested. F
Maybe next month...
I'm a seller on ebid and have been there for about 2 1/2 years. I sell collectibles and their fees are extremely fair. Support answers your inquiry within 24-48 hours and the response is not canned like at the bay. You actually get a live individual to respond. Listing an item is easy with their 'default listing' option. Sales are increasing and as more sellers find us the variety of items is growing. I'm happy I found this site to sell my collectibles on.
Overly complicated listing system.
No sales, no views, waste of time as a seller. Promotions? Lifetime sub? Forget it.
As a buyer the payment system is very strange and hard to navigate. Why does one have to check paypal and the purchase several times, add extra details and then check again? Why would anyone bother? This is the answer as to why this place will never take off.
It doesn't deserve to. It only rakes in sub fees from sellers who are fed up with other platforms, nothing but a scam with outdated design.
Why does Ebid require a registration just to browse the items for sale? I won't bother with it because of this. Waste of time as far as I'm concerned. Make it user friendly and easy and you'll have the world knocking down your door. Make me jump through hoops and I'll just walk away with my money still in my pocket.
I am a seller on this site, or at least I would be if anybody actually purchased anything on there. It is my belief that the site is genuine, there will always be con men willing to use sites like this to scam people, ebay are well established and used to the scams and have learned how to beat them, or at least compensate losses when they occur, but lets face it, ebay can afford it, it costs a fortune to sell on there. I would like to see ebid survive, I think it is about time ebay had some serious competition.
The site is difficult to navigate for both buyer and seller. I am a seller who was born before the computer was invented, and as such need much more tech help than eBid offers. They are quick to get back to me by email, but I can't understand their written instructions. There is no one from the company that you can actually talk to. I would like to bulk edit many of my listings, but can't determine how. Many of my customers from other sites don't like having to sign up with a credit card before they can even view my listings. I don't accept paypal, but my customers tell me that they can't determine how to pay on the site with their credit card.
Despite the problems I note here, I continue to maintain a quality store on eBid.net and remain hopeful for the future. EBid is great in all ways but one - NO SALES! And, if there are no sales then all the other aspects of their service are moot. I am able to sell these items on feeBay without a problem, but all I get are lookers on eBid, and not that many, really. Not even one sale, or question or offer in 4 months, and I offer most items worldwide! EBid refuses to advertise, so the future prospects are just as bleak. It's a real shame for those of us trying to exit feeBay. FeeBay execs must be laughing!
For sellers eBid is a close second to feeBay when it comes to their site sophistication. Listing is a breeze and their search system works nicely. I'll keep praying for better customer traffic.
I opened ebid when ebay was requiring me to edit all my pictures to a larger size, so I edited all my pictures. I then found ebid and loaded all my pictures and auctions there as well.
Good thing I did. Ebay loses pictures after 90 days if an item isn't relisted. Ebay raised their listing prices at that time with no free listings anymore. So when you have 5000 items there is a good chance you are going to lose a lot of pictures. Ebid doesn't so at least I have a great storage system for all my pictures with an easy way to find the exact picture by searching for my listing.
Plus I get a couple sales here and there.
Not bad. Still haven't gotten the free tshirt (not that I really care but this is THEIR advertisement that I would be wearing anyways)
I have been selling and buying on http://uk.ebid.net/ for 7 years and find it very good and easy to use. Its much smaller than eBay.
